Obituary Preview: Kathy Sue Jackson Burden, age 48, of Mt. Olivet, KY, passed away on May 5, 2024. She was born in Flemingsburg, KY, on July 27, 1975, to the late Meredith and Clara Mitchell Jackson. Kathy was also preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Carl Glen Burden; and a brother, Robert Jackson.
She is survived by a son, Brandon Carl Burden; two daughters, Stacey (Michael Brown) Nicole Burden, Megan (Matt Hopper) Renee Burden; two brothers, Thomas Jackson, Meredith “Kojack” (Tina) Jackson Jr.; three sisters, Ruby Feeback, Angie Jackson and Thelma Moore.
Kathy is remembered fondly by her children as someone who loved to shop and loved to decorate her home and porch. She loved candles, bath and body works and she loved to have her hair and nails done. Kathy will be missed by her family and friends.
Funeral Services for Kathy will be on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 1:00 P.M., at Robertson County Funeral Home in Mt. Olivet, KY. Visitation will be held prior to her service beginning at 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at 1:00 P.M. Bro. Tom Mitchell will preside over services and burial will be in Piqua Cemetery following services. She was born in Menifee County on November 29, 1938, to the late Emery Clay and Ida Pearl Hunt. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Thomas Arthur Hubbard; and a granddaughter, Jessica Renee Hubbard.
Evelyn is survived by two sons, Thomas Scott Hubbard, Robert Gregory (Patricia) Hubbard; two daughters, Deanna Lorraine Hubbard, Vivian (Patrick D) Norris; a sister, Brenda Violet (Guy) Mettert; grandchildren, Seth Thomas (Kaci) Hubbard, Caleb Matthew (Aaron Ash) Hubbard, Zachary Taylor (Kristen Perkins) Hubbard, Elijah Clay (Alli) Hubbard, Kyle Brandon (Timberlee) McCord, Patrick Henry D (Maegan) Norris; five great-grandchildren, Maddie and Lilah Hubbard, Evelyn McCord, Paisley Jo Norris, Jaxson Henry D Norris; and her church family.
Evelyn was very involved with her church, Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Fairview, KY. One of her favorite pastimes was playing dominos with church friends. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, enjoyed quilting, reading, and loved to travel, especially to the beach. Evelyn also loved being with her grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by friends and family.
Services will be on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Robertson County Funeral Home at 3:00 P.M., with visitation prior to that from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Bro. Rooster is survived by his wife of 26 years, Wendy Smith Mitchell; mother, Ida White Mitchell; a son, Dustin (Katelyn) Mitchell of Carlisle; a daughter, Krystle Mitchell of Cynthiana; one brother, Billy (Melissa) Mitchell of Mt. Olivet; four sisters, Nancy (Jerry) Allison of Cynthiana, JoAnn (Elza) Dale of Carlisle, Connie (Eddie) Zornes of Carlisle, Nellie Rankin of Carlisle; five grandchildren, Devyn Mitchell, Brayden Mitchell, Jaelyn Mitchell, Haileigh Mitchell, Grayson Mitchell and their grandmother Shellie Mitchell; good friend, Jim Holland; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Rooster was an avid wood worker and named his business Mitchell’s Woodworking. He helped build his home in Mt. Olivet, was a former Robertson County Volunteer Fireman, and EMS volunteer. Rooster also enjoyed farm life.

Donnie is survived by two sons, John (Chassidy) C. Moore, Preston Ryan Moore; a daughter, Gabrielle (Charlie “Chucky” Sparks) Lynne Moore; a brother, Larry Collins; grandchildren, Abel Moore, Adilynn Moore; uncle, Marvin Mullikin; and significant other, Tina Moore. He is known as loving Robertson County and he enjoyed the family tractor/tire business that he ran there. Donnie loved being with his family and friends and really enjoyed being involved with both churches that he was involved in, Milford Christian Church and Blue Licks Assembly of God.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Robertson County Funeral Home. Obituary Preview: Loretta Ann Staggs, age 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 1, 2024. She was born on April 29, 1936, to the late John and Mae Hawkins Workman. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Norman Staggs, who she longed to be reunited with. What a reunion! Loretta was also preceded in death by three brothers-in-law, Gary Staggs, William Owen Staggs, Ronnie Clark; and one sister-in-law, Anna Lou Staggs.
Loretta is survived by her three children, Dennis Staggs, David (Peggy) Staggs, Karen (Michael) Graves, all of Mt. Olivet; four grandchildren, Hannah Sweet, Joshua Ross, Ava King, Peyton Moyer; three great-grandchildren, Presley Sweet, Garrett Sweet and Owen Paul Moyer; one sister, Bonnie Clark of Maysville; one brother, Johnny (Patty) Workman of Mt. Olivet; and one brother-in-law, Jimmy (Karen) Staggs. She also leaves behind two special caregivers, Michelle Mitchell and Charity Sparks.
Loretta loved her family, she loved all of the time spent with them. She enjoyed sitting on her front porch visiting with her friends and neighbors. A member of New Corinth Church of Christ, and a lover of red birds and cardinals, she will be fondly remembered. Loretta was a wonderful lady and will be missed by so many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Mitchell, Jr.; her parents, Edna and Paris Davis; an infant sister, Margaret Davis; a sister and brother-in-law, Carline and Al Burken; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Diana Davis; two nephews, Ben and PD Leyes, sister and brother-in-laws; Martha and Frank Wheeler, Anna Mary and Ed McDowell.
Mary is survived by a sister, Susie Leyes of Waynesville, Ohio; a brother Gary (Liz) Davis, of Deland, FL; her children Teresa (Gerry) Becker, Tom (Carol) Mitchell, Joe Mitchell, and the mother of Joe’s daughters, Lisa Miller Mitchell, all of Mt. Olivet; her grandchildren, Katie (Travis) Hill, Thomas Mitchell, David (Kassie) Marsh, Jessica Mitchell, Lacey Mitchell, Ross Becker and Justin Becker. Great-grandchildren, Ian Marsh, Matthew Trimble, Jackson and Savanna Marsh, Kylie Jo and Ada Rose England, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Mary was a member of the Kentontown Christian Church, former choir director at Piqua Christian Church, and attended New Corinth Church of Christ. Mary was a graduate of Waynesville High School. Her career included working in the Waynesville School system and the Deming School system. Mary also helped on the family farm and provided countless delicious meals for her family and farmhands. One of her greatest passions was watching her children and grandchildren play sports and show animals. She also enjoyed playing cards, cooking, singing and family gatherings.
A service to honor her memory will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Robertson County Funeral Home in Mt. Olivet. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until time of service at 7:00 P.M. Services will be officiated by Brother Steve Gifford, burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Travis Hill, Thomas Mitchell, David Marsh, Ross and Justin Becker, Ian Marsh, Matthew Trimble and Jackson Marsh. Alpha’s daughters spoke fondly of her love to travel, that she made quilts and enjoyed UK Basketball. She also loved the ocean and beach, flowers and to garden. She will be missed and thought of often.

Stewart, and half-brother, Phillip Insko.
He worked for Columbia Gas, loved Robertson County Sports, as well as his community. He was also a Marine Sgt, 1967 through 1971, having served in Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Sparks Stewart; two sons, Andy (Lisa) Stewart, Adam (Andrea) Stewart; one brother, William (Dick) L. Stewart; and two grandchildren, Jacob Stewart, and Caleb Stewart.

Donald Price - January 31, 1932 - November 27, 2023

He was born on January 31, 1932, at the family’s Central Ridge Road residence to the late Earl R. And Anna French Price of Robertson County, KY. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Joy Sue Wells; a brother, Richard F. Price; and three nephews, Stephen Price, Larry Price, and Michael Price.
Don was married to Joy for 57 years and together they had four children, Terry (Patti) Price, Donna Sue (Stephen Grayson, Ricky (Christina) Price and Darlene (Phillip) Messer all of Mt. Olivet, KY. He is also survived by, eight grandchildren, Jeremy (Missy) Messer, Robyn (Dana) Thornburg, Matthew (Christy) Grayson, Susan (Lee) Ashcraft, Brandon Price, Chad Price, Alyssa Price, Kaylen (Kurt) Robinson and thirteen great-grandchildren, Westin, Cole and Joy Messer, Alex Dillow, Tripp Grayson, Julie and Beau Ashcraft, Alex, Marlee and Sylas Robinson and Izaiah, Gabe, and Nehemiah. Don leaves behind his fiancé, Janice Ignatovich, with these words written and left to her: “Her love to me gave me a reason to go on after my wife’s death. She helped me through multiple surgeries, a stroke and a lot of different health problems.” His words for his pet were that he was leaving behind “my little buddy Bella (pup) who will miss me dearly.”
Don was a lifelong Robertson County farmer. He raised tobacco, corn, soybeans, hay and cows. He was well-known as the owner and operator of #600 Carnation Milk Route in the 1950s. In the 1960s, he owned and operated a limestone and fertilizer spraying service. In 1970s, he worked for KY State Transportation with a special bridge crew. He continued to dance until he was 83 years old, when he had a stroke. She was born in Robertson County on April 5, 1939, to the late John Swinford Orme and Alta Hope Jones (Gene) Williams. She was raised from a small child by her foster parents, Willis H. And Grace M. White. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, farmer and housewife. She was a member of Mount Olivet First United Methodist Church. She served on Mount Olivet City Council for nineteen years, as well as helping with the Robertson County Veterans Day meal for many years and serving as a foster grandparent at Robertson County Elementary. She was awarded the Kentucky Colonel in 2022 by Governor Beshear. Mrs. Burns is best remembered by her love of her family and God, and how she exemplified kindness, giving, and most of all, forgiveness. Phyllis was even more beautiful on the inside than she was on the outside. She often said that helping to raise her grandchildren was her greatest joy in life.
She is survived by her son Dr. John T. (Dr. Sally Ann Pope) Burns of Mount Olivet; a sister, Brenda (Elwood) Myers of Mount Olivet; a brother, Darrell (Cathy) Williams of Germantown; three grandchildren, Haley Ann Burns, Joseph B. Larence Burns, and Holly Ann Elizabeth Burns, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and foster parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Larence Burns, Jr., and a brother, Delbert Orme of Maysville.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Mount Olivet First United Methodist Church with visitation on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 6:00P.M. to 9:00P.M. Obituary Preview: Lloyd Daniel Wells, 84, the only child of Arthur and Addie Wells, was born in his family home in Mt. Olivet on January 27, 1939. He died in his family home on August 27, 2023 after battling kidney disease.
Lloyd graduated from Deming High School in 1957. He attended the University of Kentucky from 1957-1960. He and some friends then decided to join the army reserves where he served until his honorable discharge on the 31st day of July 1966. After basic training he was accepted at Morehead State University. He graduated in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science Degree.
Upon his completion of college, Lloyd joined his father at the family business, Wells Produce in Carlisle, KY. Throughout his 40 years in the business, he made many acquaintances and several lifelong friends.
Lloyd was a member of the Mt. Olivet Christian Church and American Legion Post #17 in Carlisle.
One of Lloyd’s greatest passions was horse racing and he traveled near and far to enjoy the sport. He enjoyed golfing with his buddies and always looked forward to the annual Robertson County Open with lifelong friends Bob Sims, Tony Overbey, and Richard Sims.
He was quite a dancer in years past and could often be spotted tripping the light fantastic in the streets of Carlisle during the Blackberry Festival or at the Briar & Rabbit dances with Di, the love of his life.
Lloyd could often be found at the roulette table, playing cards or watching sports. He gained the most pleasure watching his son play basketball and his grandchildren on the court or on the field. In later years, Lloyd enjoyed walking with his buddy Coleman up and down the streets of Mt. Olivet.
Lloyd dearly loved his family and was proud of their accomplishments. Surviving Lloyd is his loving wife of 55 years, Diana Martin Wells; his son, Danny (Cindy) Wells; grandchildren, Cassidy Wells (Justin), Hunter Wells (Jadyn), Wesley Hopkins, Kenzie Hopkins and great-granddaughter Sophia Hopkins.
Other survivors include his Florida cousins that were more like sisters – Debbie Fernandez and Claudette Wells (Helen); niece Emily Martin, of Arizona; and special family friend Barbara Faul, of Lexington.
Preceding Lloyd in death were his parents Arthur and Addie Wells; his cousin Velva Wells Clark and her husband, Jim Clark; Uncle Dan Wells; and numerous other family members.

She attended Kentontown School in elementary years then graduated from Deming School in 1960. Doris married Lonnie T. Cain, December 10, 1959, and had two children, Sherry and Lon. Doris was a housewife, mother, and farmer until she decided to pursue a teaching career. She graduated from Morehead State University in 1971 and completed her master’s degree in 1979. Doris taught Health and P.E. and was the track coach for 27 years at Mason County High School. Later she taught Health at Deming School. Doris after that worked as a full-time realtor for six years with much success, she served on the Robertson County Library board for several years. Doris loved to play golf, dance, and watching sports on T.V. She spent the last 18 years with her special friend and caregiver, Gary Acuff.
