She is survived by her husband Ramiro Flores; two sons, Richard Flores and Robert Flores; Daughter-in-law, Shannon Flores; Grandson, Gavin Alejandro Flores; sisters, Eloisa Meza (Husband Jose) and Frances Rodriguez; brother, Jose Luis Alvarez, (Wife Ruby); and many more cousins, nephew, nieces, and godchildren. Delia was devoted to her family and was one of the kindest souls to have blessed the many people that loved her. She will be forever missed and will remain in the hearts of many.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her ex-husband Rodrigo Martinez, Sr., her siblings Enrique Borrego, Ester Borrego Martinez, Ricardo Borrego & Martin Borrego.
She is survived by her children, Rodrigo (Rosy G.) Martinez, Jr., Rosalba (Richard A.) Longoria and Rodolfo (Norma Linda) Martinez.  She was “Wela” to her grandchildren who were her pride and joy: Vanessa Martinez, Richard A. Longoria II, Rodrigo R. (Mariel) Martinez, Robert A. (Alexis) Longoria, Rodolfo (Annica) Martinez, Jr., Alexander Martinez, Rebecca A. (Jordan) Green.  Another joy of her life were her great-grandkids, Eva L., Rudy III, Lucia C. & Roberto J. Martinez, Rigo A. Martinez, Axel R. Guerrero, Rachel A. & Robyn A. Longoria.  She is also survived by a brother Fernando Borrego. Our mom was a woman of faith and prayed fervently for her family.  Her grandkids and great-grandkids had a special place in her heart.  “Wela” enjoyed attending the kid’s birthday parties and all their special events. We are greatly saddened by her departure but celebrate her life. “You now indeed have sorrow but I’ll see you again, and your hearts shall rejoice; and your joy no man shall take from you.”  John 16:22
Services will take place on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church 2201 Martin Ave, McAllen. 9:00 am Visitation, 10:00 am Rosary, 10:30 am Holy Mass 12:00 pm Interment at La Piedad Cemetery 1801 Wichita Ave McAllen.
Pallbearers will be Alexander Martinez, Richard Longoria II, Robert Longoria, Jordan Green, Rodrigo R. Martinez & Rodolfo Martinez Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Rudy Martinez III, Axel Guerrero and Rigo A. Martinez.
We would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at Village Healthcare and Rehabilitation for being so attentive, kind and caring with our mother.

After receiving his dental degree in Monterrey, Mexico, Dr. Villarreal received his oral surgery training in Puerto Rico and Houston, Texas. He moved to the Rio Grande Valley in 1997 and started Reconstructive Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Edinburg. Dr. Villarreal is survived by his wife, Lizbeth Riquelme Villarreal, his five children, Brianna, Jose Ramon, Tania, Mauricio and Mario. He is also survived by his mother, Francisca Villarreal Sosa and three sisters, Norma, Elsa, and Alma Villarreal, his nieces Dorothy and Astrid and four nephews, Artemio, Apolonio, Miguel and Polo. Dr. Villarreal will reunite with his father, Don Apolonio Villarreal and his brother Apolonio Villarreal as he goes with the Lord. Dr. Villarreal will be remembered by family and friends as a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle. He will be remembered by his colleagues as a distinguished oral surgeon who was always made himself available to them and the patients he cared for. Criado en un pequeño pueblo de Ciudad Mier Tamaulipas, trabajo haciendo botas de joven. En 1992 decidió mudarse a los Estados Unidos con su entonces esposa para lograr una mejor vida para su familia.
Le gustaba ir a pescar y estar al aire libre. Siempre estaba ahí para sus hijos y sus nietos. Fue una persona muy positiva y hacía amigos donde quiera que fuera. Le encantaba escuchar rock de la vieja escuela como Bee Gees, Eagles, Creedence, Queen. Le daba mucha felicidad ayiudar y hacer bien por los demás. Le gustaba hacer carnes asadas y que todos pasaran el rato con él, Le encantaba contar historias. Era un bromista muy grande, definitivamente padre, tío, hermano y amigo mas divertido. El haría saber que estaba orgulloso de los niños en todo lo que hacían.

Obituary Preview: SERGIO GARZA, JR of McAllen, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at the age of 48. A beloved husband, son, brother, friend and proud United States Military Hero died peacefully in his sleep with his beloved wife Janie Garza by his side at Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death or mourning, wailing or pain, for the old order has passed away.’ Rev. 21:4 Sergio was born in Edinburg, Texas on April 23, 1973, to Sergio Garza Sr. and Noemi H. Zuniga. He is survived by his wife Janie Garza, stepdaughter Amanda Muniz, his parents Noemi Zuniga, Sergio Garza Sr., his sisters Yesenia Garza, Yvonne Garza Zamora (Javier), and Catalina Graham (Mathew), his nieces Ashley Viacobo, Jennifer Viacobo, Vivienne Zamora, Catherine Graham and Elizabeth Graham, and nephews Gabriel Viacobo, Oscar Viacobo, Michael Cavazos, Andres Zamora, Marcus Zamora, and Aaron Zamora
He graduated from Donna High School and shortly after enlisted in the United States Navy. “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?’ “Here I am,” I said; “send me!” Isaiah 6:8 He served as US Navy Hospital Corpsman with the Marines as their leading medic aka ‘Doc Garza’. He was stationed in Korea, Okinawa, Japan, North Carolina, and finally Fallujah, Iraq in 2006. He loved his fellow Marines and took care of the injured soldiers while serving with dignity and respect. He was their Guardian Angel. During his military journey, he got to do what he loved the most which was to serve, protect, and defend our countries freedom. Sergio was very humble, soft spoken and always filled with kindness no matter who he met. He was respectful and had a zeal for life. He unconditionally gave of himself personally and financially specially during birthdays and the holidays. He always had a smile on his face which led to him being nicknamed ‘Doc Giggles’. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Mt 19:14

Albert R. Miller - December 02, 1931 - March 10, 2022

Obituary Preview: Albert Rudolph John Miller, 90, went to be with the Lord on March 10, 2022. Al was born on December 2, 1931 in Arapaho, Oklahoma to Rudolph and Anna Miller. He served in the US Army (1950 - 1953). He fought in the Korean War where he received the purple heart and other battle medals. Al reached the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Upon his return from Korea to Oklahoma, in the summer of 1951, he met the love of his life Ellie. Al relocated to Fort Hood, Texas where they corresponded by mail until they married on December 21, 1951. They were blessed with two children Larry and Deborah.
Al and his family moved every year while he worked for Phillips 66 Oil Company. They settled in Minnesota in 1965 where he was employed as a machinist for Onan Corporation for over 20 years. He was a hard worker and had additional part time jobs trying to get ahead to provide a comfortable living for his family. He was a DIY (Do It Yourself) expert. He wouldn't hire anything out. He did his own mechanical, electrical, plumbing and carpentry.
He was a humble, helpful, kind loving man. He taught honesty and compassion for others, leading by example.
Al enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and playing dominoes with family and friends. He also liked watching wrestling and westerns on TV.
After retirement in 1994, Al and Ellie moved to South Texas where he enjoyed margaritas at his favorite restaurant in Mexico (The Arizona). Al and Ellie continued to spend summers in Minnesota with family and friends.
Al is survived by his loving wife, Ellie, of 70 years; Children, Larry (Michele) Miller, Debbie Lofgren (Jack Hansen); Grandchildren, Beth (Jason) Uecker, Carla (Shannon) Abram, Kevin (Bianca) Miller, Shannon Miller (fiance Cade Kolflat); Great Grandchildren, Dylan, Boyd, Brody, Breelle; Sister, Betsy.
Preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Obituary Preview: Edinburg ~ Adelina "Addie" Aurelia Alvarez, 61, entered eternal rest on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. She was born on Thursday, April 28, 1960 in McAllen, the daughter of the late Lorenzo Alvarez Jr. and the late Eva (Saenz) Alvarez.
"Addie", as she was known by her friends and "Deli" or "La Gordita", by her family, graduated from McAllen High School in 1978 where she was a proud member of the Mighty Bulldog Band. Next to her family her love was music. At the age of 17 she started to work at KURV under the name of Yolanda Vela part of the team of Yolie and Jolene for a couple of years. At 19 she was diagnosed with diabetes and that caused serious complications. She did not let that stop her. She learned all she could about her condition, so much she could teach about it. Her family encouraged her to get her education so she attended the Univertiy of Houston for a few years but her love of music pulled her back and she worked for 26 years in radio across the state of Texas, KQQK in Houston being her longest stint. She returned home and graduated from Pan American University with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism. She was a teacher for La Joya ISD for 10 years while she pursued her Master's Degree as a reading specialist from Grand Canyon State University. Despite her health complications, Addie was a free and vibrant spirit and she stayed active in her many hobbies while going through treatments and rehab.
She is predeceased by her parents and her brother: Arturo Alfonso Alvarez.
She is survived by her sisters: Alma A. (Ricardo) Rutledge of Austin, Amelia A. (Jose†) Borrego of Edcouch, Aminta A. (Guadalupe†) Barrera of Edcouch, Anita A. Alanis of Seabrook, and Alicia A. Alvarez of Edinburg; and 10 nieces and nephews that she adored and helped to raise.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. A Celebration of Life Mass will be said at 12:00 pm Wednesday, March 15, 2022 at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Roma. Interment will follow at Roma City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Arturo A. Alvarez, Audencio "Denny" Alanis III, Lorenzo A. Alanis, Austin Lee Rutledge, Daniel Peña, Rick Garza, and Marco Flores.

Obituary Preview: It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Juan Manuel Garcia Jr. (61 yrs of age).  He entered eternal rest at his residence in McAllen, Tx. where he lived with his wife Lidia Chavez Garcia.  Together they recently celebrated 43 gloriously wonderful years of marriage.
Born in Brownsville, Tx., it is in McAllen that he lived, loved, raised his children/grandchildren, and became a devoted elementary and middle school coach (McAllen ISD – Rayburn, Lincoln, Travis, De Leon and Seguin).  Although his main passion was baseball, his love for coaching often led him to volunteer at Nikki Rowe High School and the Boys and Girls Club of McAllen in any capacity that he was needed.
Juan was not just a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, he was greatly loved, respected, and admired by all that knew him.
He is preceded in death by his brother Rene Reymundo Garcia, his in-laws Pedro Chavez Alfaro and Lidia Garcia Chavez.  Left to cherish and carry on his memories are his wife Lidia Chavez Garcia, son Juan (Krystal) Manuel Garcia III, daughter Anna Lidia Garcia, daughter Karina (Alan) Krystal Sanchez, his beloved parents Juan Manuel Garcia, Guadalupe Garcia, and siblings Fernando (Natalia) Garcia, Irma (Fernando) Diaz, and Belia (Ron) Villarreal.  His grandchildren Triana Garcia, Christopher Hartman, Marlissa Garcia, Nicholas Hartman, Jordan Garcia, Johnathan Garcia and numerous nieces and nephews.

He played the game, coached the game, and called the game as an umpire for 32 years. He was inducted into the Leo Najo Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991. He was presented an award for his 25 years as an umpire in Monterrey, Mexico on July 11, 2015. He is now with our LORD "calling the game" in the heavenly "Field of Dreams!" Memorial services will be held from 5:00-9:00pm on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen, Texas with a rosary at 7:00pm.
