He volunteered at the Food Pantry in Guyton, Ga for three years and was a member of Faulkville Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alberta Schuller Cunningham of Ohio and James Cunningham of Alabama; and his great grandson, Dylan Helmey of Guyton, Georgia.

Peck retired from Overnite Trucking with 10 years of service. He also worked many years for RC Cola, Trailways, and Arden Ice Company. He was a member of Guyton United Methodist Church and the Men's Bible Class. He was a former member of the Methodist Campground Board and an original member of the Effingham Civil Defense. Peck enjoyed farming and gardening.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Uldine Scruggs Lawson; parents, Spiers Lonnie Lawson and Carrie Mae Heath Lawson; daughters, Lydia Louise Lawson and Nina Mae Lawson Wallace; granddaughter, Lydia Louise Wallace Walton; and sister and brother-in-law, Willie Mae and Snowball Burnette.

Survivors include: his wife of eight years, Joan Corley Lawson; sons, Wilson C. Obituary Preview: Glenn Edwin Deaton, 64, of Rincon, GA passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in Statesboro, GA. Glenn was born June 22, 1953 in Dade City, FL to Paulie & Pauline Stanfill. He was later adopted by Ellen & Cecil Deaton.

He served 6 years in the military and 26 years on Savannah and Chatham County Police Force. He is preceded in death by his birth parents, his adoptive parents, three brothers, and one sister.

He was honored for his volunteer service to Habitat for Humanity of Effingham County. He was also a member of the Effingham County American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Sonja Deaton; son, Jamie Deaton; daughter, Crystal Deaton; eleven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Glenn was active in his church, loved hunting and fishing, and helping his fellow man.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mason and Essie McKinney; and three sisters, Margaret Hindley, Glynes Skinner and Treva Riggs.

Survivors include: her sons, Danny Webster Oglesby, Jr. (Susie) of Egypt and Chris Oglesby of Millen; daughter, Poppy Dockray of Hamilton, Missouri; grandchildren, Danny Webster Oglesby, III, Courtney Oglesby, Christopher Todd Oglesby, Jr., Brittany Santee, Ellis Dockray and Wren Dockray; and great-grandchildren, Damion Santee, Raymond Santee, Makayla Santee, Savannah Oglesby, Amber Oglesby and Jonathan Dockary.

Visitation will be held at Riggs Funeral Home on Saturday, March 24, 2018, from 2 -4 PM. Graveside Services will be held at 2PM on Sunday, March 25, 2018, in the Foy Cemetery at Elam Egypt.

He is preceded in death by his parents, JZ and Miriam Riggs, and sister, Janice Hendrix.

Survivors include his wife, Kim; children, Shannon (Dustin) Cribbs of Shawnee, Ben Riggs of Sylvania, Heather Riggs of Springfield, and Briana Riggs of Springfield; grandchildren, Randy “Roc”, Luke, Koden, and Dusti; his faithful four-legged companion, Gigi; and a number of other family members and friends.

He is also survived by two daughter, Wendy Leopard and her daughter, Cydnee of Waynesville, NC, and Lane Leopard Gallegos and her children Ella, Jonah, and Jack all of Rincon; and son Travis Leopard of Rincon, GA.

Tommy's legacy is his dedication to the AA Program and the love of his fellow man. Our world is a better place because he was here and he will be missed. May he rest in peace until we meet again.
