Obituary Preview: Robert William “Bill” Johnson, age 75 of Marion, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Community Hospital in Indianapolis.
Bill was born May 28, 1946 in Marion, Indiana the son of the late Robert O. and Shirley (Crabtree) Johnson.  He married Lynn Alice Streib in 1993, and she survives.
Bill was the owner of R.O. Tool & Die, and the Back Alley Bow Hunters.  He retired from Yeoman Engineering in Huntington.  He also taught Mechanical Engineering at Tucker Career and Technology Center in Marion and was a craftsman of fine furniture.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Alysia (Johnson) Stewart of Jacksonville, Florida; two sons, William Travis (Angela) Johnson of Swayzee, and Chad (Tanya) Miller of Cocoa Beach, Florida; two sisters, Cathy Johnson-Robertson (Dennis) of Marion and Janet Johnson Ng of Texas; and grandchildren, Devin, Owen, Corey, and Adam.
Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Obituary Preview: Jennifer J. Weaver, age 55, of Marion passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Colonial Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center in Marion.
Jennifer was born on August 25, 1966 in Marion, Indiana the daughter of the late Edward Weaver and Barbara (Fleming) Teegarden.  Her mother survives.
She is also survived by two sons, Michael (Michelle) Weaver and Bobbie Weaver; two brothers, Mike Weaver and Ed (Carol) Weaver; grandchildren, Zoey Woenkhaun and Theseus Nicodemus; numerous half siblings; her ex-husband, Eric Neal; and her beloved pet, Chugs.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Kimberly Burnham and a brother, Jimmy Weaver.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2022 at Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.

Obituary Preview: Gerrick A. Evans, age 23, of Marion, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 in his home.
He was born on September 15, 1998 in Marion, Indiana the son of Keith (Tiffany) Evans and Wendi (Bennett) Chapelo.  Gerrick was a graduate of Oak Hill High School in 2017.  He played football since he was 5 years old all the way up until he graduated.  He also enjoyed basketball, baseball and wrestling and being with his friends.
Gerrick loved his family more than anything.  He was most passionate about deer hunting, and he could spend hours in a tree.  He enjoyed golfing with his Dad, brother and family, football, especially the Indianapolis Colts and just loved all sports in general.  Gerrick loved being outside, and riding and racing his Harley Modified Street Glide with his Dad.  He was a loving son, brother, grandson, and cared for all of the family and his friends.
Words haven’t even been created on how special he was to every single person he ever met.  His heart was the biggest out of anyone.  No matter what, he was always worried more about everyone else than himself.  He loved everyone in his life and always told each of us he wanted to see everyone happy and successful.
He is survived by his father, Keith (Tiffany) Evans of Amboy; his mother, Wendi (Shawn) Chapelo of Marion; a brother, Keith Robert Evans of Marion; sisters, Taylor Evans, Zoe Tucker, Baileigh Evans and Raegan Evans; paternal grandparents, David (Tara)Evans and Melody Tucker of Marion; maternal grandmother, Donna Rose of Converse; grandparent, Wayne (Jolleen) Guy of Marion; paternal great-grandmother, Delores Evans of Ft. Wayne; maternal, great-grandmother, Phyllis Guy of Marion; aunts, Crystal (Devin) Bennett-Van Diver of Marion, Megan Guy of Marion and Estee (Joe) Sasser of Ft. Wayne; uncles, Clay (Hillary) Evans of Ft. Wayne and Wayne (Haley) Guy, III of Ft. Wayne; cousins, Dakota Pond, Naseem Banks, Aryes Riddle, Sawyer Evans, and Payden Riddle; and several special friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Mark Bennett; and his aunt, Amy Pond.
Visitation will take place from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2022 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road Marion, Indiana.
Visitation will also be held one hour prior to funeral services on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 in the funeral home.  Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Amy Biegel officiating.
Burial will follow funeral services in Converse Cemetery, Converse, Indiana.

Obituary Preview: Robert (Bob) Stephenson, age 65, of Marion, Indiana was unexpectedly taken too soon on Tuesday, April 19th 2022.  Son of Herschel and Esther Stephenson, Bob was born June 3rd 1956, who proceeds in his death, as well as his great-granddaughter, Addilynn.
On June 22nd Bob married Bonnie Compo, who together they spent the last 39 years loving and who survives him.   Together they raised their four children:  Tom (Tina) Cannon of Syracuse, Indiana, Sherri (Nick) Gray of Smyrna, Tennessee, John (Leah) Cannon of Wapakoneta, Ohio, and Darlene Stephenson of Gas City, Indiana; his brother David Stephenson and sister Marlene Smith; 12 grandchildren, Brandon (Ashley), Kyle (Justice), Olivia (Jake), Myah, Cassidy (Josh), Emily (Xavier), Dylan, Haley (John), Rylee, Gregory, Kaysie, and Payton; and three great-grandchildren, Ella, Oaklee and Elijah.
Bob retired March 12th 2021 to enjoy spending time with his growing family, riding his motorcycle, working in the garage, spending time with his wife at the casino, and playing cards with friends.  Bob, a man who was always there for everyone, never knowing a stranger, and will forever be missed.
Please celebrate Bob’s life with us on Saturday, April 23rd from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, in Marion, Indiana.  There will be no burial services, a cremation is to follow.

Obituary Preview: John M. Diskey, age 69 of Fairmount passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022 at I.U. Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
He was born July 21, 1952 in Marion, Indiana the son of the late Marion and Mary (Graham) Diskey.  He married Mary (Hillyer) Horn on February 14, 1998, and she survives.  He worked at General Cable (Essex) for 21 years until his retirement.
He was a very giving person and donated to several charity organizations including, St. Jude’s Hospital and several animal rescue organizations.  John was very proud of his family and never met a stranger.  He would literally give you the shirt off his back.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Diskey of Fairmount; a son, Roger (Sarah) Diskey of Monroe, Ohio; daughters, April (Dalia) Diskey of Troy Ohio, Brittney (Michelle) Diskey of Gainsville, Florida, Jennifer (Brad) Plank of Marion and Brooke (Raymond) Mullen of Noblesville;  7 grandchildren, Alyahs Diskey, Darius Diskey, Zikiah Diskey, Malayah Diskey, Aryss Diskey, Zaryn Diskey, and Cameron Mullen; one great-granddaughter, Ada; and his dog, Ranger.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Tom Diskey.
Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Friday, April 15, 2022 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.  Funeral Services will begin at Noon with Pastor Jeff Horsman officiating.

Philip was born April 9, 1943 in Marion, Indiana the son of the late Lawrence and Donna (Hoyt) Morrow.  He married Brenda Snyder on June 23, 1995, and she preceded him in death on November 17, 2011.  Philip was a former member of the 9th Street Gang, and had a deep passion for show cars.  He had three show cars of his own and enjoyed going to car shows, especially the James Dean Festivals.
He is survived by two sons, Jeffrey (Julie) Morrow of Marion and James Morrow of Santa Monica, California; his twin sister, Phyllis (John) Rohrer of Grand Rapids, Michigan; sisters, Charlotte Koetsier of Idaho, Shirley Bunfill of Marion and Melanie (OD) Purser of Marion; 2 grandchildren, Ashley Carlin and Deborah Morrow; and three great-grandchildren, Hope, Joy and Max.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Morrow.
As per Philip’s wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no funeral services.

Obituary Preview: Frederick Joe Clawson, age 84, of Marion, passed away at noon Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Colonial Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center in Marion.
Frederick was born January 26, 1938 in Lafayette, Indiana to Fred and Helen (Briggs) Clawson of Flora, Indiana.  He graduated from High School in Flora, Indiana, and then earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Pharmacy School at Purdue University.    He was an Army Veteran.
He retired from Hook’s Pharmacy after 30 years and later worked at the VA Hospital Pharmacy.  He enjoyed helping Veterans.  He was a member of the Evening Exchange Club for many years enjoying the friendship of many special members.  He is also a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
He married Rosemary Litkenhus in July of 1965.  They were blessed with three children, Michaelle Thixton, Melanie Dolak and Scott Clawson.  He loved spending time with his four granddaughters, Sydney and Sophie Thixton, and Elanor and Agatha Dolak.  He loved watching Purdue football and basketball games and was a loyal fan.
The family will receive visitors from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.   A Rosary Service will be held at 6:30 p.m.
Visitation will also take place from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1009 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana prior to the funeral mass.  Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Father Ted Rothrock officiating.  Burial will follow Mass in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana. Priscilla was born on March 12, 1922 in Van Buren, Indiana the daughter of the late Isaac and Iva (Heckard) Glover.  She married her first husband, Robert Dillard, and he preceded her in death on October 23, 1997.  She married Billy Joe Hodge on September 9, 2004, and he preceded her in death on July 3, 2013.
Priscilla worked at RCA and was also co-owner of the Home Corner Hardware Store.  She was a member of the Grace Freewill Baptist Church.  She loved her church family and was a light to everyone.  She went to church every opportunity she had.
She is survived by a step-son, Louis (Shirley) Hodge of Marion; two step-daughters, Jo Ann (Charles) Dingus of Marion and Louise (Ron) Oakley of Kentucky; and a sister, Sarah Thompson of Marion.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Isaac Glover, Jr., Eugene Glover, James Glover, Wade Glover, Ralph Glover and Robert Glover; and sisters, Elenore Billington, Martha Pennington, and Doris Myers.
Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to Noon on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Tim was born November 26, 1933 in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Charles and Helen (Speicher) Keenan.  He was an Air Force Veteran.  He married Dolores Jonas on June 2, 1956, and she preceded him in death on February 2, 2015.  He worked as a metallurgist at Atlas Foundry until his retirement in 1995.
He is survived by two sons, Shaun (Teal) Keenan of Marion, and Patrick (Julie) Keenan of Gas City; two daughters, Jennifer Giles of Zionsville and Michelle Keenan-Slick of Austin, Texas; and five grandchildren, Chloe, Ben, Jeff, Tammy and Nicole.
He was also preceded in death by a brother Jack, and a sister Marilyn.

Rebecca Sue Hostetter - March 27, 1936 - March 27, 2022

Obituary Preview: Born March 27, 1936, Rebecca “Sue” (Davis) Hostetter, age 86, left our earthly home On Eagles Wings and is now Standing on Holy Ground as of March 27, 2022. Sue, daughter of the late Robert and Leathe Young, was born and raised in Marion, Indiana, graduating from Marion High School and attended Baldwin-Wallace College (Conservatory of Music) where she majored in piano performance with a minor in Church Music, primarily organ. Sue began her musical career at the age of 5 and was still playing for the residents at Suite Living throughout these past two years. She shared her love of music with countless students over the years, entertained at special events, played for the Marion Easter Pageant for numerous years and accompanied the Marion High School 26th Street Singers as well as many musicals over the years including West Side Story and The Sound of Music at the Ritchie Walton Theatre. Her first love, however, was being the pianist/organist for church beginning with the First Church of the Nazarene, St. John’s Lutheran Church, and most recently, St. James Lutheran Church for the past 34 years. One of her greatest joys was leading the children and teen choirs as well as accompanying several adult choirs. Sue was always one to show Amazing Grace to those around her—always portraying a positive attitude and encouraging others.
The Love of God was honored when Sue married Reverend L. George Hostetter on December 28, 2002, and he preceded her in death on December 4, 2010. Sue was a professional pianist sharing her love of music with veterans at the VA Hospital through music therapy and playing the piano and organ for visitation and services at Raven-Choate Funeral Home as well as others in the community. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and the Marion Lyric Club and later in life volunteered with Heart to Heart Hospice.
“Count your blessings name them one by one” and she would faithfully pray for each in her family. She is survived by three daughters, Pam (Steve) Wilson of Westfield, Karen (Brian) Maine of St. Peters, Missouri, and Sherlyn Hurley of Indianapolis; a brother, Robert Young of Phoenix, Arizona; 7 grandchildren, Tyler (Jaime) Wilson, Shane (Jennifer) Wilson, Preston (Lyndsey) Davis, Joshua (Samantha) Hurley, Brian (Jordan) Maine, Jr., Callaway Maine and Carrington Maine; 11 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Cathy Danyluk, David (TJ) Riggs, Cindy (Jim) Zutaut and Steve Young.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Robert M. Davis; a sister, Margaret Ridley; nephews, William Riggs and John Danyluk.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 2, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 AM with Pastor Frederick Hearn officiating. Burial will follow funeral services in Estates of Serenity Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.

Paul was born July 3, 1933 in Competition, Missouri the son of the late Edward and Blanche (Lue) Layman.  He married Ondrea “ Onnie”  Briggs on December 31, 2005, and she survives.
Paul worked in the tool crib at General Motors until his retirement in 2000 after 44 years.  He was an Air Force Veteran and a member of the AMVETS Post 5 in Marion; the American Legion Post 317 in Greentown; the 40&8 Kokomo #1103; the V.F.W. Post 1152 Kokomo; the Legion Riders Post 6; ABATE, and the N.R.A.  He was also a former volunteer at the VA in Marion.
He is survived by his wife, Onnie Briggs; a son, Paul (Donna) Layman, Jr.; daughters, Coral Layman and Paula Hensley-Katz (Bob); and two grandchildren, Justin and Brandon Hensley.
He was also preceded in death by his wife Joyce Layman and 11 sisters and brothers.
Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.  Funeral Services will begin at Noon.

He is survived by his brother, Charles (Teressa) Eberhard of Marion; two nephews, Adam Eberhard of Ft. Wayne and Andrew Eberhard of Oldsmar, Florida.

Larry was born on January 3, 1958 in Leetown, Virginia the son of the late Henry Herbert and Gracie Marie (Laney) Whitt.  He married Karen S. Carpenter on May 21, 1977, and she survives.  Larry was a heavy equipment operator for Bragg Excavating for 18 years.
Larry loved being outdoors where he enjoyed fishing, camping and hanging out with friends and family.  He also enjoyed gardening and fried green tomatoes.  He was a member of the “Local Liars Club” and enjoyed working on cars and loved his dog, Radar.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Whitt of Marion; a son, Michael (Brandy) Whitt of Wabash; a daughter, Angela  (Jason) Collins of Marion; a sister, Henrietta (Dennis) Smith of Marion; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Kevin Whitt on September 6, 2020; a brother, Billy Whitt and a brother-in-law, Dennis Smith.
Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Monday, March 14, 2022 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.  Funeral Services will begin at Noon with Pastor Allen Hudson officiating.
Burial will follow services in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.

Randall was born August 14, 1956, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Edward and Jenanette (Bass) Gilbert. He married Cyndi Reed on December 23, 1976, and she survives.
Randall attended Mississinewa High School and then enlisted in the Air Force. He was stationed at SAC Headquarters Command Post and flew on the Looking Glass Airborne Command Post. He also worked for the Defense Communications Agency. Upon leaving the AF he started his own telecommunications business. Randall was previously very active in the Jonesboro and Fairmount Police departments.
Randall enjoyed NASCAR and traveling to Walt Disney World.
He is survived by his wife, Cyndi (Reed) Gilbert of Jonesboro; sons, Justin Gilbert of Kokomo, Keenan (Melissa) Gilbert of Kokomo, Matthew Gilbert, and Jacob Gilbert of Summitville; a daughter, Brandi (Bo) Knights of Kokomo; a brother, Don (Mary) Gilbert of Jonesboro; a sister, Kathy (Donnie) Franks of Linton; 18 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; brother-in-law, Rick (Sandy) Reed, Chris (Crystal) Reed; sister-in-law, Rhonda (Ron) McCown; many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are entrusted to Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. Per Randy’s wishes there will be no funeral services, but a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date to be announced.

He is survived by his wife, Caroline Kuehner of Marion; a son, Derek (Alicia) Kuehner of Opp, Alabama; sister-in-law, Sandra Kuehner of Michigan; and 5 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Hans J. Kuehner.

Obituary Preview: Russell E. “Rusty” Snapp, age 70 of Marion, went peacefully to be with the Lord on February 25, 2022 at Ball Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with COVID.
Russell was born in Marion, Indiana on March 15, 1951 to the late Calvin Snapp and Marcella (Snapp) Goodpaster.
Russell graduated from Marion High School.  He always worked hard to provide for his family working two and three jobs at a time.  He proudly served as a volunteer firefighter with Center Township for 12 years, holding the position of Assistant Chief for 2 years.  He owned his own building maintenance company, Custodial Plus for 12 years.  His short-term employment with Kmart turned into 17 years.  He was also a certified locksmith.  He retired after 21 years as a maintenance supervisor for many apartment complexes in Marion, Kokomo, and Anderson.  He was also involved with Neighborhood Crime Watch.
Russell put God first in his life.  He devoted time to reading his Bible every day.  He was a man of many great testimonies.  His life was never ordinary.  He loved his children dearly, and always looked forward to spending time with his girls.  He enjoyed watching NASCAR and Perry Mason.  He loved listening to music, cooking holiday dinners for the family, and cuddling up with his cat.
He will be missed by his daughters, Cynthia (Shawn Jackson) of Marion and Catherine (Ron Ways) of Marion; half-brother, Jim (Tina) Goodpaster and family of Marion; uncle, Sam (Beverly) Snapp of Marion; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Woolsey; a brother, Donald Snapp; and his beloved cat, Justice.

He is survived by his daughters, Kim (David) Macke, Kelly (Gary, Jr.) Hotsinpiller, Angela Smith, Regina (Jason) Breeden and Rachelle Binnion; a brother, Kenny Binnion; 13 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Obituary Preview: Shirlee Joyce Morrison, 63, of Marion, Indiana was called home to rest after a thirty-year battle with MS. She peacefully passed in her home on the evening of Thursday, February 24, 2022 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born July 14, 1958 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana to Ralph Roland and Jessie Armelia (Reeves) Pratt. Shirlee was the third of four daughters to bless the Pratt household along with Barbara, Susan, and Nancy. After her mother unexpectedly passed in 1966, Shirlee was gifted another mother when Ralph married Phyllis Jean in 1969. Along with Phyllis came four bonus siblings Randy, Darlene, Rick, and Debbie.
Shirlee graduated from Penn High School in 1976 and worked her way to attend Purdue University and Ozark Bible College. Through one of her many occupations, she befriended Carol Morrison. It was at her wedding that Shirlee met the love of her life, Steve Morrison. Shirlee and Steve married in 1986 and celebrated 36 years of loving marriage.  In part to Shirlee’s intellectual prowess and attention to detail, they successfully owned and operated a moving company for 32 years. This took them on adventures all across the country until retirement in 2017.
They had three beautiful, charming, awesome, really cool, charismatic, and humble children; Beau, Faith, and Sara. Shirlee saw all three of her children graduate from Purdue University. Her main hope was for her children to become strong, independent adults with high morals. She enjoyed all of the jokes and games shared at family holidays, the home was always warm and cheerful.
Shirlee loved nature in all its forms. She enjoyed hiking and biking in her youth, was a talented skier and loved swimming. If any dog or cat came to the house in search of food, the Morrison household had a new pet! She followed in her father’s footsteps and was an avid bird watcher.
Shirlee attended Marion Church of Christ and volunteered her time at the Children’s Church. She was a model Christian who cared deeply for others and loved with all her heart. Even with all physical burdens this world could throw at her she continued to see the best of the world with God at her side. Her high morals and deep religious beliefs were respected and admired by all she met.
Waiting in Heaven is her father Ralph Pratt, mother Jessie Pratt, father-in-law Marvin Morrison, mother-in-law Ruth Morrison, brother-in-law Michael Morrison, sister-in-law Carol Port, dogs Lucy and Lucky, cats Moss, Tiger, Tobie, Tuffy, Shadow, and Gallic, and grand-cat Hope.
Shirlee leaves behind her loving husband, Steven Edward Morrison; son, Beau Alexander Morrison; daughters, Faith Ruth Ann Morrison and Sara Starr Morrison (Daniel C. Nolan); sisters, Barbara G. Barbara, Susan (Fred) Habermann, and Nancy (Dairl) Sander; bonus mother, Phyllis Jean Pratt; bonus brothers, Randy (Pat) Davis and Rick (Susan) Davis; bonus sisters, Darlene Shock (fiancé Jim T.) and Debbie (Cyndi Pierce) Davis; cat, Farfelu; grand-dogs, Denver and Bella; and grand-cats, Raelle, Nugget, and Anakin.

He is survived by his children, Mark (Julie) Lester of Albany, Indiana, and Kelly (Justin) Riddle of Marion; four grandchildren, Luke Lester, Landon Lester, Jude Riddle and Kali Riddle; his former wife, Laura (Steven) Bates of Marion; his beloved sister, Sara Neeley of Gainesville, Georgia; brothers, Charles “Chuck” (Teresa) Lester, Jr. of Marion, Dick Lester of Charlotte, N. He is survived by his mother, Irene Bilbrey of Roann; a brother, Donald (Kathy) Franks of Linton, Indiana; a sister, Tamara Rish of Roann; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Earl Franks.
