Obituary Preview: Mark A. Kraatz of South River, NJ passed away December 12, 2020 at Robert Wood Johnson hospital. He was 63. Mark resided most of his life in East Brunswick with wife Carol. He then moved to South River in 2011. Mark was self employed most of his life as a Telecommunications consultant in East Brunswick. Mark was always a hard worker. He also enjoyed traveling, cooking, music, fishing and smoking his favorite cigars. Mark always shared his adventures with family and friends. His humor was contagious. Mark loved to make people laugh. He was a pro at busting balls. Most importantly he loved his family and friends dearly. He will truly be missed by all.
Mark is predeceased by his beloved parents Charles and Eva Kraatz of East Brunswick. His Brother David of Marlton.  Mark is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Carol Kraatz of South River. A loving son, Michael Kraatz and longtime girlfriend Christine Rhatigan of Piscataway. His sister Diane and husband Lou Hupp of South Brunswick. Many nieces and nephews.

Obituary Preview: Dennis Pesta of South Amboy, NJ, passed away peacefully at home with his dear wife at his side. He was 70. Dennis grew up on Newell St, in Greenpoint Brooklyn and moved out to Sayreville, NJ with wife JoAnn in August of 1993 where they enjoyed their lives together. He was a former employee of John Gaffney Moving Company in Brooklyn NY.  Dennis was a member of Local 707 for many years, and before retiring he was a Walmart employee. He loved trips to Atlantic City, fishing by the pier, oldies music, bowling, and his most beloved companions, all of his dogs, especially Rocky who was by his side to the end. He will be most remembered for his meticulous care of his cars and his home where he was brought to hospice and passed away peacefully.
Dennis is predeceased by his beloved parents, Walter and Joan Pesta; grandmother, Laura Rohs; father in law, Edward Craine Sr.; brother, Wally Pesta and brother in law, Dr. Robert Ballestas. Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, JoAnn Pesta nee Craine; son, Dennis Pesta Jr. and his wife Heather; daughters, Kimberly Palumbo and her husband Tony and Jennifer Aragon and her husband Pete; granddaughters, Angella, Julianna, Brielle, Sophia and Lilliana; grandsons, Devon, Hunter, Harrison and Liam; sister, Barbara Ballestas; brothers, Thomas Pesta and his wife Patricia and John Pesta and his wife Judi; Many adoring nieces and nephews and great nieces and a great nephew; mother in law Henrietta Craine; sister in law, Carol; brother in law, James Franklin; and brother in law, Eddie Craine Jr and his wife Kathy, and brother in law Sean Craine.

She loved to cook and bake for her family. Marion also liked to go bowling and go to bingo when she was younger. She absolutely loved spending her time with her family. Marion worked at Middlesex County Board of Adult Education in East Brunswick and retired after 25 years. She took her family to Florida for summer vacations for a few years before she retired.
Marion is predeceased by her mother, Roseanne Brower, father, Charles Kenderish and stepfather, Donald Lyons. She is survived by her daughter, Tara Lodato of Carteret, NJ; sisters, Donna Lyons and her partner Joseph Peel of South Amboy and Nancy Reid of New York; brothers James Kenderish and his wife Sandra; Michael Kenderish of PA, Thomas Kenderish and his wife Amy of Wisconsin; granddaughter, Elizabeth Halsey; grandsons, Patrick Sarkany and Andrew Sarkany II; great granddaughter Ashely Arevalo and great grandson Stephen J. Spaulding; Nieces Jillian Stamatelos, Anna Lyons and Sarah Peel; nephew James Kenderish II, many extended family and dear friends.

Obituary Preview: Alvino Fernandez of Matawan, New Jersey, passed away suddenly, November 17th, at Jersey Shore University Hospital in Neptune, New Jersey. He was 53. He was born March 30, 1967 in Newark NJ to Luz Maria Diaz and late father Elliseo Fernandez. As a child he attended Our Lady of Good Counsel in Newark where resided for years. He was a member of the Newark Redliners MC where he spent most of his young life. He was heavily involved in Union Athletics where his son played football for the Rams. He later went on to move to Cliffwood Beach where he was a member of the Saint Joseph Church in Keyport. A graduate of Matawan High School where his son later attended.
Alvino leaves to cherish his memories: his beloved son Demitri Fernandez, his mother Luz Diaz, his sister Janette Fernandez-Itara of Howell, his nieces Sibella and Stefani and nephew Estevan and niece Taylor. His girlfriend Angel White and stepdaughter Aliyah Nicholas and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

There after lived for 32 years on Staten Island before settling in Morgan, NJ with her husband George of 49 wonderful years. Louise loved angels, she had a cabinet full of Angels at home she enjoyed collecting. She loved parties, dancing and music, especially Elvis and Cher. Louise most of all, loved spending time with her family; she will be dearly missed.
Louise is predeceased by her parents Helen and George Arniotis, her sister Stella Arvanites and her nephew Steven Arvanites. She is survived by her husband George Avdalas; daughters, Ellen Chalmers and her husband Joshua of Keansburg, NJ; Kathy Margerum and her husband Matthew of Morgan, NJ; Tiffany Johnson and her husband Christopher of Fords, NJ; grandchildren, Louis Chalmers, Kristina Chalmers, Lukas Margerum and Zoey Johnson.

Paul Robert Mulligan - May 24, 1950 - October 19, 2020

Obituary Preview: Paul Robert Mulligan of Browns Mills, NJ Formally of Old Bridge, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 19th, 2020, at the Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, Camden, NJ. Paul was born in Manhattan, NY in 1950 to Richard and Inez Mulligan. They moved to Sayreville, NJ in the late 1950’s before moving to Old Bridge, NJ and then settling down in Browns Mills, NJ in 2009. Paul served his country proudly from 1970 to 1974 during the Vietnam War in the United States Airforce. He was stationed in Montana which was one of his most favorite places to live, even if it was a short time.
After the service, Paul moved back to New Jersey. While working as a manager at the A&P he met his wife Donna whom he married in 1979 and was happily married for over 40 years. Paul then went to DeVry Institute where he graduated with a Service Technician Degree. He then went on to work for Garden State Office Systems and Equipment for over 35 years. Paul enjoyed camping, watching the New York Jets and working! He absolutely loved working. He often said he would work until the day he died.
Paul spent many summers on the hill at Frog Hollow grilling and spending time with family and friends. Paul bowled on numerous bowling leagues at Hill Lanes (Old Bridge), Midstate Lanes (East Brunswick) and Strathmore Lanes (Aberdeen), where he had many fond memories and made many friends throughout the years. Paul with an avid Star Trek and The Beatles fan. He also loved to watch documentaries and the History Channel. Many Christmas's were spent with Paul dressed up as Santa for the family. When Paul wasn’t working, he was spending time at home watching the Fox News Channel and supporting Trump for president. Most important of all he would spend as much time as he could with his grandson Damien who he loved dearly. They were best friends.
Paul is predeceased by his daughter Diona Mulligan; parents, Richard and Inez Mulligan; brothers, Richard, John, David and Christopher Mulligan. He is survived by his wife Donna Mulligan of Browns Mills, NJ; daughter, Julia Freeman and her husband Matthew of South Amboy, NJ; grandson, Damien Freeman; grand-daughter, Cecelia Freeman; sister, Robin of Woodbridge, NJ. extended family and dear friends.

Frances Katherine Gadomski - February 10, 1922 - October 04, 2020

Obituary Preview: Frances Gadomski, 98, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, passed away on October 4, 2020.  Frances’s long life was filled with love and family and marked by strength and resilience.  As a young woman, she volunteered for the Red Cross during World War II, and married the love of her life, Edward Gadomski, when he was home from the war on leave.  They were married for 49 years, until Edward passed in 1994.   Frances spent many of her adult years working in customer service at Huffman-Koos in Rahway.  Her passion for baking and cooking provided the foundation for countless family celebrations and gatherings.  She was also an avid gardener, who enjoyed sharing plants and helpful hints with family and friends.  Frances was always open-minded and welcoming to new people and new ideas.  Her keen sense of humor, independent spirit, and deep love of family affected everyone she encountered.  She is lovingly remembered by her two daughters and sons-in-law, two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, who love and miss her very much.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Joseph Angelo Capozio. Whether you knew him as “Joe Scissors”, “ Saxophone Joe”, “Cuz Brothers”, husband, father, brother, grandfather, or as “Pop’s”, Joe was a beloved member of the community.“Saxaphone Joe” the talented musician was a member of the Philadelphia Durning String Band as well as many other bands. Joe had just come off the road from playing with the band, when he applied for a job as a barber. “Joey Scissors” met a beautiful young beautician, Rose DiSalvio, it was love at first site. They married on October 22, 1968 and during their 52 years of marriage they had three children. Joseph Capozio is survived by his wife, Rose Capozio, his children, Michelle, Jenine , Joseph and wife Bernedette; his grandchildren Benedict, Joseph, Sophia, Emily, Natalie, Christopher, Ashley and Camille; his great grandchildren Santino and Chelsea; and his brothers’ Silvio and Angelo Capozio. The family is having a private ceremony to honor the life and love of Joseph Capozio. The immediate family asks to respect, in this difficult time, the privacy and allow for bereavement.

Obituary Preview: Sarah Henry Olsvary, 87, of Morgan Avenue in the Morgan section of Sayreville, passed away on Sunday, September 27 at her home.
She was born in Laurence Harbor, NJ before moving to Morgan in 1960, after briefly living in Fords, NJ. Ms. Olsvary began teaching while receiving a Master’s Degree in Special Education at Newark State Teacher’s College. She went on to become a Learning Disabilities Consultant in the Sayreville school system.
Sarah was a member of the New Jersey Order of the Eastern Star.
She was predeceased by her brother, Kenneth Henry who died in 1992. She is survived by her daughter Ruth and her son Paul, of Morgan, NJ.

She would often spend time with her partner going to the racetrack in Williams Grove and New Egypt which was one of her favorite things to do. Ali loved more than anything, spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She absolutely loved playing and doing crafts with them, telling them jokes and silly stories. She was a loving, caring, goofy person who would do anything for you. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.

Obituary Preview: Steven Gerard Sherry, a lifelong resident of Old Bridge, NJ, passed away suddenly on August 28, 2020 at the Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge, NJ, at the age of 51. Steven was born in Red Bank, NJ, in 1969 to Dorothy (Dottie) and Gerard (Jerry) Sherry. Steven spent 25 years working as a police officer for Old Bridge Township and was a member of Local PBA 127. He was a selfless and valorous man who cared deeply for others. He showed amazing acts of courage  at his profession and by responding to those who needed help in New York following the 9/11 attacks.
Steven was a devoted KISS fan and would often showcase a leather KISS ARMY jacket to prove his loyalty to his favorite rock band. Steven enjoyed spending time with friends and family and had been an avid fisherman. He also loved watching the Yankees and the Rangers.
Steven is deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his parents, Dottie and Jerry Sherry; his sister, Lisa Marie Sherry, and her partner, Albert Moore; his brother, Michael Sherry, and his longtime girlfriend, Leigh Schubert; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends. His family is comforted by the overwhelming expressions of love and support received from Steven's lifelong friends.

Estelle was born in South Amboy, NJ in February of 1941 to Frank and Victoria Burkard and was a lifelong resident. Estelle loved being at home and watching her favorite programs on tv. Some of her favorites were the vintage game show channel and cooking channels. She also enjoyed spending time outside in her yard gardening and watching local wildlife. Most of all she loved being with her family. Although she will be dearly missed, she will live on in our hearts and memories forever.
Estelle is predeceased by her husband Vincent Piuskota who passed away in March of 2004.
