Thomas Delve Swan - January 22, 1940 - May 12, 2024

Obituary Preview: Services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at First Baptist Church Purvis for Mr. Thomas Delve Swan, 84, of Purvis, MS, who went peacefully in his sleep to his eternal home in Heaven, on Sunday, May 12, 2024. Rev. Bob Kendrick will officiate.
Interment will be in Coaltown Cemetery with a Mountain Men Masonic Burial.
Mr. Swan was born on January 22, 1940 to Ayrie Willoughby “A.W.” and Jewel Marie Cox Swan. He cherished his family and watched proudly as we grew and had families of our own. His generosity and wisdom spoke volumes about his character. He was a member of First Baptist Church Purvis where he served as a deacon. His greatest honour and privilege was to support, love, protect, and provide for his family. He was a Master Mason in the Masonic Lodge, a Deputy Lecturer in the Grand Lodge. He was a member Mountain Men Masons as well as Eastern Star. He loved rodeoing and competed many years in the team roping event where he went to win the coveted prize of 1st place at the Dixie National Rodeo in 1992. From water skiing to softball, to deep sea fishing, and everywhere in between his hobbies were endless. After retiring, his love turned to fresh water fishing, where he wanted to be all the time. He was quick witted and loved a good practical joke.
Delve graduated Purvis High School in 1958 before going on to Pearl River Community College where he met and married his beautiful wife, before graduating with an associates degree in drafting in 1961.
His dream of owning his own trucking company began in 1974 and a few years later in 1978, he merged with two of his brothers, Davis and Curtis and soon became Deep South Trucking. He worked tirelessly as President of the company until retiring in 2005.
Thomas Delve was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Betty Sue Swan; parents, A.W. And Jewel Swan; brothers, Curtis, Wayne, and David Swan, and a sister, Helen Marie Sterling.
He leaves to cherish is memory two daughters, Renee Swan Nicolosi and Nancy Swan Rayburn; one son, Thomas Wayne Swan (Jenny); six grandchildren, David Ross Rayburn, Casey Rayburn, Rachel Nicolosi, Adam Nicolosi, Jessica Swan, and Lauren Swan; eight great-grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 13, 2024, at First Baptist Church Purvis.

THERESA GRADUATED AS A REGISTERED NURSE IN 1973 AND DEDICATED HERSELF TO NURSING UNTIL HER RETIREMENT IN 2004. SHE TOUCHED COUNTLESS LIVES WITH HER COMPASSIONATE CARE AND GENTLE SPIRIT. THERESA ENJOYED HER FLOWER GARDENING, BIRDWATCHING, AND TIME SPENT WITH FRIENDS

Obituary Preview: Graveside Services were held at Moore Cemetery at Coaltown for Mr. Frank M. Ronney, Jr., 70. of Purvis, MS, who died Wednesday, March 13, 2024.
Purvis, Mississippi lost a beloved  resident when Frank passed away. born on March 14, 1953, he was a selfless soul who touched the lives of many.
Frank was a lifelong resident of Lamar County, where he made lasting connections with friends and coworkers.  his dedication to community extended beyond his work at Scott Paper Company; he was known for his green thumb and passion for gardening. Frank found joy in helping others and cherished moments spent with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margie Viola Ronney; his father, Frank M. Ronney; and his sister, Martha Ann Trest.
Despite these losses, Frank's legacy lives on through his surviving sisters, Wanda Morgan and Susan Dixon; five nieces, one nephew, and numerous great nieces and nephews; as well as his lifelong companion, Gennice Hartfield, and the many friends who remember him fondly.
In honoring Frank's memory, let us celebrate his selflessness, his love for nature, and the impact he had on those around him. May his spirit continue to bloom like the flowers he tended to with care..

Richard Jackie Keith - June 11, 1947 - February 26, 2024

Obituary Preview: Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, March 7, 2024 at The Family Life Center at Calvary Baptist Church in Purvis for Mr. Richard Jackie Keith, 76, of Purvis, MS, who passed away suddenly on February 26, 2024.
Interment will be in Pine Ridge Hartfield Cemetery.
Jackie was born to Richard and Leatrice Keith on June 11, 1947. He grew up on a family farm in Purvis with his sister, Alice. He enjoyed working on that farm all his life, raising cattle and gardening. He loved helping people and making them laugh. He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for many years. He graduated from Purvis High School in 1965. He was a sergeant in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1970 and served our country in the Vietnam War. When he returned home, he became the Chief of Police in Purvis. Then, he worked for Miller Transporters as the terminal manager where he later retired in 2001. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Leatrice Keith and his niece, Jennifer Marie Vaughn-Watts (Alice’s daughter).
He is survived by his wife, Mary Bernette Keith; his son, Michael Bradley Keith, his wife, RhondaLynn and their children, Whitney Lynn and Micah Bradley; his son, Corey Ruport Dickerson and his wife, Teresa Diahn – DeeDee; his daughter, Jade Danielle Sutherland, her husband, Michael Ray and their children, Ava Elizabeth, Colton Ray and Cannon Allan; his son, Christopher Jackie Keith and his children, Michael Anthony, Jacob Andrew and Zane Alexander; and his sister, Alice Leatrice Becker and her husband Ronald John.

Interment will be in Pleasant Home Cemetery.
Mr. Madison loved music and there wasn’t a lyric or song he didn’t know. He was an avid Denver Bronco fan and loved Alabama football. He was a collector of many things. He was willing to help anyone and everyone that he could. He had the biggest heart and will be deeply missed by anyone and everyone he ever met.
Pallbearers: Micah Madison, Mandel “BoBo” Madison, Dalton Rayburn, Gage Rayburn, Keith Sanders, Jacob Simmons, David Williams, and Jeff Collins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Madison; a brother Kevin Lowe; and his grandparents, Lola Bell Madison and Dave Wesley Madison and Floyd and Emmer Lee Saucier.
Mr. Madison is survived by his mother, Donna Sue Lowe of Purvis, MS; two daughters, Cassey Madison and Nicole Rayburn both of Purvis, MS; two sisters, Sabrina Sanders of Baxterville, MS and Wendi Madison Martin of Lumberton, MS; two brothers, Micah Madison of Purvis, MS and Mandel "Bobo" Madison of Baxterville, MS; two grandchildren, Dalton and Gage Rayburn and a host of aunts, uncles and extended family and friends.

Interment will be in Cherished Acres Cemetery.
Mrs. Dobson was a lifelong resident of Purvis, MS and was a member of Coaltown Baptist Church. She retired from Movie Star Garments as Supervisor of Packers. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing Day Lilies, working in her yard, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Colon Dobson; her son, Terry Dobson; her grandson, Steve Dobson; a daughter-in-law, Sherrill Dobson and son-in-law, Gerald Altman.
Mrs. Dobson is survived by two daughters, Lynn Altman and Debbie Anderson (Vic); three sons, Mickey Dobson, James Dobson (Linda) and Don Dobson (Linda); thirteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and her best buddy and loyal dog, Penny.

Obituary Preview: Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 27, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Purvis for Mr. James Travis Rayborn, 86, of Lumberton, MS, who died, Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
Interment will be in Coaltown Cemetery.
Mr. Rayborn retired from the oilfield as a driller and manager. After retiring from the oilfield, he owned the Country Store at Pine Ridge and at one time, managed and opened several Big K Stores. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Purvis. He was known as a giving, kind, generous and loving man with a dry sense of humor that kept his family and friends laughing. He was also a great cook; an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing and was a master gardener. Travis loved baseball and was scouted and drafted by the 1954 New York Yankees, where he proudly played with Mickey Mantle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Velma Rayborn; his wives, Lotys Lott Rayborn and Joyce Rayborn; and a granddaughter, Amy Anderson.
Mr. Rayborn is survived by his wife, Shirley Rayborn of Lumberton, MS; one son, Rodney Rayborn of Purvis, MS; three stepsons, Carley Crews (Michelle) of Brandon, MS, David Crews of Brandon, MS and Claude Sutherland of Louisville, KY; two daughters, Rhonda Lowe of Purvis, MS, Rita Hennis of the Midway Community; three stepdaughters, Vickie Fertitta (GT) of the Oak Grove Community, Cheryl Entrekin (Steve) of Rockwall, TX and Cindy Neel of Lumberton, MS; two sisters, Dora Johnson of Baxterville, MS and Janice Ladner of Picayune, MS; one brother, Alonzo Rayborn of Lumberton, MS; sixteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Mr. Carley retired as a self-employed brick mason and also owned and operated Carley Properties, where he managed and owned several properties. He was Financial Secretary for Local 17 BAC and was a member of the Hattiesburg Moose Lodge. He was also in the Mississippi National Guard and was a member of First Baptist Church of Purvis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Edna Carley and one granddaughter, Lauren Carley.
Mr. Carley is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sarah Carley of Purvis, MS; three children, Bobby Carley (Laura) of Sumrall, MS, Shannon McSwain of Hattiesburg, MS and Scotty Carley (Glynis) of Hattiesburg, MS; one sister, Betty Cox (Wendell) of Clinton, MS; five grandchildren, Taylor Carley, Tyler McSwain, Carley McCaffery, Drew Carley and Tanner Carley; and one great-grandson, Wade McSwain.

Shane William Burge - January 23, 1973 - July 27, 2023

Obituary Preview: Services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Good Hope Baptist Church for Mr. Shane William Burge, 50, of Purvis, MS, who passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023.
Interment will be in Slade Cemetery.
Shane co-owned Burge Grading Corp, along with his brother, where he was President and Project Manager. He, along with his brother, Kevin, continued the legacy of the business that his father began, decades before. Shane was known as a hard worker and known for loving his job and all that it entailed. He grew up riding and operating bulldozers and other heavy equipment and had a special way of working with people and was well known and well respected in his business and throughout his life. Shane deeply loved what he did for a living.
Over 15 years ago, Shane got his private pilots license and had a passion for planes, which he shared with his daughter, Lacey. He loved taking family vacations, which often included going to Bluegrass Music Festivals. Music was a love he shared with his family, but especially with Lacey. Shane worked the pedals of the piano while Lacey masterfully worked the keys. Together, they made a beautiful music duo. He was a lifelong member of Good Hope Baptist Church, where he and Lacey played the piano together, and had served as deacon as well as serving on multiple committees.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Roland and Joann Burge and his maternal grandparents, Leo and Doris Saucier.
Shane is survived by his wife of over 28 years, Jennifer Burge of Purvis, MS; his daughter, Lacey Burge of Purvis, MS; his parents, James and Carolyn Burge of Purvis, MS; one sister, Amanda Cummings (Ray) of Purvis, MS; one brother, Kevin Burge (Misty) of Purvis, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Mrs. Entrekin was a homemaker and member of Caney Baptist Church. She was very devoted to her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ronald Entrekin; two sisters, Loretta Dement and Faye Entrekin and one brother, Michael Burge.
She is survived by two sons, Freddy Entrekin (Pat) of Lumberton, MS and John Entrekin of Purvis, MS; two daughters, Rhonda Housley (Phillip) of Purvis, MS and Cathy Parker of Bay Springs, MS; one sister, Louise Alford of Marble Falls, TX; three brothers, Willie Ray Burge of Lumberton, MS, Jimmy Burge of Purvis, MS, and Joe Burge of Lumberton, MS; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Troy Thomas Molsbee - January 07, 1938 - April 08, 2023

Obituary Preview: Services will be held at 11:30 AM Friday, April 14, 2023 at Good Hope Baptist Church for Mr. Troy Thomas Molsbee, 85, 2023 who died Saturday, April 8, 2023 at his home.
Interment will be in Coaltown Cemetery.
Mr. Molsbee retired from Amerada Hess in February. 1994. He loved to travel and see new places. Troy and Mrs. Helen had many adventures with their friends affectionately known as "The Travelers". They also enjoyed getting together with their classmates from Lumberton for a monthly meal. Mr. Troy loved to fish, plant a big garden to share, attending church, visiting friends, "carrying on a little foolishness", and being with family.
Mr. Troy is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Mrs. Helen Molsbee; five children, Janice Molsbee (David), Cindy Clark (David), Donna Gipson (Bryan), Jeff Molsbee (Lori), and Hollie Bush (Brandon); fourteen grandchildren, Jason Deaver (Autumn), Lesley Williamson (Bryan), Amber Witter (Blair), Mandy Kostelecky (George), Nikki Birchfield (Patrick), Ryan Gipson (Cassie), Brittany Thompson, Aaron Clark, Dylan Molsbee (Kerry), Hunter Courtney (McKenzie), Allison Clark, Thomas Bush (Zella), Timothy Bush, and Travis Bush; twenty-two great-grandchildren, Conner Sylvester, Kali Williamson, Lexi Williamson, Ethan Birchfield, Sydnie Birchfield, Blake Deaver, Catelyn Deaver, Rayne Deaver, Ayla Kemp, Skylar Witter, Lilly Witter, Connor Clark, Madison Clark, Kenzie Kostelecky, Karoline Kostelecky, Wyatt Gipson, Hayes Gipson, Kellen Gipson, Jaxxsen Thompson, Journi Thompson, Londyn Molsbee, and Hadley Blake Courtney, and two great-great-grandchildren, Branstyn and Malikai.

Interment will be in Pleasant Home Cemetery.
Mrs. Parker was a devoted wife and mother, who worked hard at home raising her family until her children were grown. She went to work as a Seamstress for Movie Star until they closed. She retired from Hobby Lobby where she gave her guidance, advice and knowledge on fabrics, sewing and crocheting to her many patrons. Crocheting was a beloved hobby of hers that she passed down to her daughters. She loved to watch true crime shows on television and was the "worst joke teller" ever, anxiously awaiting to tell corny jokes to her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Parker; her daughter, Lisa Parker and her parents, F.M. and Johnnie Ruth Bush.
Mrs. Parker is survived by her two daughters, Phyllis Parker of Hattiesburg, MS and Rita French (Jim) of Purvis, MS; one sister, Gladys Madden of Purvis, MS; one brother, Lee Bush (Brenda) of Purvis, MS; four grandchildren, Landon French (Morgan), Dustin French, Ainsley Cook and Alden Cook and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, February 27, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.

Mrs. Waggoner earned two master's degrees in Education from the University of Southern Mississippi and retired from Purvis Schools after thirty years. She was a faithful member of Bay Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Leon "Slicky Boy" and Lula Mae Stuart; a brother, Charles Ray Stuart; a nephew, Harry B. "Bubba" Moore, Jr and a niece, Tammy Stuart Stewart.
Mrs. Waggoner is survived by one son, Robin Lorne Waggoner of Hattiesburg, MS; two daughters, Michele Fritz (Joe) of Long Beach, MS and Renee Faggard of Purvis, MS; one sister, Martha Moore (Harry) of the Oloh Community; three grandchildren, Blake Fritz (Bijan), Meagan Riggs (Ryne) and Lauren Fritz; and two great-grandchildren, Shepherd James and John Luke Riggs.

Interment will be in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Cemetery. She was born on November 18, 1947, in Hattiesburg Mississippi, to Maurice Robert and Mary Roseberry Bright. They moved to Texas when she was young and later moved back to Purvis when she was a teen where she met the love of her life David Morris. She loved the Morris family so much and knew she would one day be a part of it no matter what. She had the most wonderful marriage of 52 years with her love, they raised their three children and eventually had seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren whom she loved more than life itself!
She was a cosmologist for many years then retired from retail after working for Family Dollar for more than 20 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She loved the Lord and had more faith than anyone in the world! Maurine was the life of the party and loved to have fun and spend time with her family most of all. If you knew her you loved her. She had a passion for good gospel music and loved life and lived it to its fullest until her final breath.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Morris. Her parents, Maurice Robert and Bettye Lee Bright and her birth mother, Mary Roseberry Bright. One brother, Maurice Robert Bright II. Her sister-in-laws, Janet Nagy and Jennifer Morris and best friend, Dianne Morris.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kristi Maurine Morris, Mieke Jeanette Wade (Scott) and one son, Robert Travis Morris (Chrisy). Sisters, Janet Edwards (Hilirie), Barbara Clark (William), Kimberly Parthemore (Adam) and Rebecca Morris.
Grandchildren, Kassadi Alyse Yawn (Dylan), Chance Richard Wade, Carson-David Maurice Morris, Zoe Rebecca Wade, John Travis Morris, William Carter Townsend and Isaac Ryan Wade. Great Grandchildren, Eli Justice Yawn and Amelia-Kate Brighton Yawn. Four nephews and five nieces and a host of other family and friends.
Pall Bearers will be Allen Brunson, Greg Edwards, Charlie Lewis, Christopher Miller, Brandon Miller and Joshua Mathias.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Monday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

Mr. Johnson was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and a true Christian, knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt that his salvation was real and he would be spending eternity with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He was a farmer and was the Auction Manager of Southeast Mississippi Livestock for over 20 years, and a member of the Mississippi Cattleman's Association. Joe was a true cowboy and spent his career doing what her loved. He enjoyed sports of all kinds, especially baseball, even having the honor of throwing the first pitch at a baseball game at Mississippi State University.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Omega Johnson and a sister, Francis Anderson.
He is survived by one son, Seth Johnson of Purvis, MS; four sisters, Donna Lynn Voss, Jimmie Marie Smith, Emma Jean Smith, and Rachel Gipson (Gerald) all of Purvis, MS; one brother, David Earl Johnson (Nancy) of Poplarville, MS; his girlfriend, Rita Seal of Carnes, MS, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.

Jerry was born and raised in Hattiesburg. He graduated from Hattiesburg High in 1963 and attended the University of Southern Mississippi for one year before he married Joyce Barr of Petal in 1964. They were the proud parents of three children Stacey, Buddy, and Jeremy. Jerry and Joyce raised their family at Wesley, where they were lifelong members. Jerry worked in the food industry for over 59 years. He started in 1964 at Pine Burr Packing Co. (18 years), Winn Dixie (11 years), Mosby Packing (2 years), Sanderson Farms (16 years), and Enslin and Son Packing Co. (almost 12 years). Jerry loved gospel music, especially quartets and enjoyed attending as many gospel concerts as he could.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Edie Lee (Bobbie) Graves.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce Graves; a daughter Stacey (Matt) Niemeyer; two sons, Buddy (Dawn) Graves and  Jeremy (Sarah) Graves, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Shawn worked for Grover’s Painting before his spinal injury that occurred on June 10, 2010. However, Shawn was a man of many trades. He could build, fix, or make anything he put his mind to. Shawn was strong, kind, and courageous. He was full of life with a very goofy personality. He was a dependable friend, father, brother, and grandfather. He was always willing to help anyone who needed it. Shawn loved his family and friends. Shawn will be greatly greatly missed by his family, his friends, his long-time caregiver Stephanie, and his doberman pup, Ella.
He is preceded in death by his Dad and Mom, Rodney and Eileen Gamble and sister, Shana Gamble.

He was an avid outdoorsman with an exaggerated love for duck hunting and his loyal best friend and hunting companion, Dixie. To know Dawson, was to love him. He was full of life and could light up a room with his witty and goofy sense of humor. He was a loyal and dependable friend, always ready with a listening ear and a loving and kind heart. If you were a friend of Dawson's, you were his friend for life, never doubting that he loved you.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Howell and Francis Lawler; great-grandfather, Billy Joe Lee; great-grandparents, Burley and Emma Katheryn Burton and great-grandfather, Bobby Ray.
