Obituary Preview: Beatriz Rodriguez, 43, of Wilson, NC passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at her residence. A native of Wauchula, FL, she was born April 10, 1978, a daughter of the late Ignacio Rodriguez and Sandra Garcia of Orlando, FL.
Beatriz worked in real estate for many years. Ms. Rodriguez enjoyed the NC Aquarium at F. Macon, NC and the beach especially, Emerald Isle, Atlantic Beach and Salter Path. She also enjoyed the NC Zoo in Asheboro, NC. But her love of sea turtles always brought her back to the beach. Beatriz loved her family and friends and never met a stranger. She had three grandsons that were the apple of her eye. Beatriz will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her daughter, Veronica Fonseca and husband, Joel of Wilson, NC; sons, Guadalupe and Geronimo Fonseca both of Wilson, NC and Israel Fonseca of Lucama, NC; brother, Tommy Rodriguez of Arcadia, FL; sister, Esperanza Rodriguez of Orlando, FL; stepbrother, Adam Gonzales of Bowling Green, FL; grandsons, Daniel and Isaac Cruz and Carlos Fonseca all of Wilson, NC. Also surviving is her life long partner, Jhovonni Cantu, and special friend Guadalupe Fonseca.
A funeral mass will be held 1:30PM Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at St. Therese Catholic Church with Father Jeffery Bowker Celebrant.
Memorials may be made to St. Therese Catholic Church, 700 Nash St N, Wilson, NC 27893.

Obituary Preview: Bryan Espino, 13, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022, at his home in Wilson, NC, born on March 2, 2009, in Greenville, NC, son of Guillermo Espino and Maria de la luz Arreola.
Bryan attended Green County Intermediate School where he had the ability to brighten any classroom with his contagious warm smile. He was always happy and full of energy.  Bryan enjoyed listening to music and being outdoors, he was an avid swimmer and liked playing sports. He had a big appetite and loved his mother’s cooking, especially her homemade enchiladas which were his favorite.  Bryan will be missed dearly by his friends and family.
In addition to his parents, Bryan is survived by his brothers, Giovani and Guillermo Jr. Espino, sister, Yareli Espino, all of the home, and many extended family members.
The service will be held 3:00PM Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Oak Hill Church located at Cavvietta Quarter Horse Company, 6131 Town Creek Rd. Elm City, NC 27822.
The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 3:00PM prior to the service. Graveside rites will follow the service in Espino Family Cemetery, 3586 Alt US-264 Walstonburg, NC 27888 with Father Marco Gonzaléz Celebrant.

Bryan Espino, de 13 años, falleció el domingo, 6 de marzo de 2022 en su casa en Wilson, Carolina del Norte. Bryan nació el 2 de marzo de 2009 en Greenville, NC, hijo de Guillermo Espino y María de la luz Arreola.

Obituary Preview: Mr. Wilton Curtis Bass, 79, of Wilson, NC Passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, February 26, 2022. He was born June 12, 1942, in Nash County, NC a son of the late Henry Curtis “Pete” Bass and Ruth Viverette Tucker Bass.
Wilton served his country honorably in the US Air Force retiring after 27 years of faithful and dedicated service to his country. He enjoyed air shows and fishing. Wilton also loved sports especially baseball. Wilton never met a stranger and loved his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Anna; son, A.J. Bass of the Philippines; brothers, Kenneth Bass and his wife, Carol of New Bern, NC Randal Bass of New Port, NC; sisters, Hilda Bussell and Husband, Jim of Whitakers, NC, Sharon Bridgers and husband, Dewey of Myrtle Beach, SC; stepsister, Kathy Fardy and husband, Bill of Wilson, NC. Also surviving are two Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Mr. Bass was predeceased by his sister, Glenda Ann Bass; son, Jamie Curtis Bass; stepbrother, Ted Davis and his stepmother, Margaret Bass.
Graveside services for Mr. Bass will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the People’s Chapel Church Cemetery with the Reverend Jim Bussell officiating and full military honors by the United States Airforce.

Obituary Preview: Cheryl Beach, 62, passed away Friday, February 18, 2022. Ms. Beach was born on January 3, 1960 in Baltimore, MD a daughter of the late Marjorie and Daniel Beach Sr.
Cheryl was a resident of Wilson, NC for over thirty-six years. She attended the rehab center at the Governor Morehead School for the blind where she learned the life skills needed to be independent. Ms. Beach achieved many accomplishments throughout her life. She loved kids and ran a home daycare for twenty-plus years. She always had a sense of adventure and loved music, exploring, and traveling to different places with her friends, Debbie Batts and Jerry Whitley. Cheryl was an avid Duke and Kansas City Chiefs fan! When she was not off adventuring, you could find her at home cooking, engaging with her smart device Alexa, and enjoying the sound of birds chirping outside her windows. She was a former member of the Lions Club and a  member of Raleigh Road Baptist Church where she participated in the senior citizens Joy group. Cheryl will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Survivors include her daughter, Amy Carter and husband, Andy of Burlington, NC; sisters, Nancy Beach of Wilson, NC; Linda Lasher of Claysburg, PA; brothers, Richard Beach of Wilson, NC; Leslie Beach and wife, Kelli of Leesburg, FL; granddaughters, Addison and Allison Carter of Burlington, NC; and many extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Cheryl is predeceased by her brother, Daniel Beach Jr. sister, Carol Sue Kessler and lifelong friend Jerry Whitley.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

A native of Wilson, Mr. Bunn was born September 2, 1941, a son of the late Hugh and Ester Thornton Bunn. Mr. Bunn was devoted to his wife, Clyde Virginia Bunn for 55 beautiful years until she predeceased him four years ago. He had a passion for laying ceramic tile and was the owner of Robert Bunn Tile company until he retired. Robert loved fishing and cooking a good pig for a pig picking but most important to Robert was his family and the apple of his eye was his great granddaughter.
Survivors include his daughter, Vivian Toler and husband, James of Rocky Mount, NC; brothers, Jimmy Bunn and wife, Dorothy of Wilson, NC and John Bunn and wife, Kristie of Spring Hope, NC; granddaughter, Victoria Webb and husband, Michael of Elm City, NC; grandsons, Robert and Rodney Morris both of Bailey, NC; great granddaughter, Makenzie Webb of Elm City, NC. The family would also like to thank a special friend and caregiver Bruce Swain.

Obituary Preview: William Robert “Bill” Jackson, 75, of Stantonsburg, NC passed away Monday December 27, 2021 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.
He was born December 11, 1946, in Sullivan County, NY a son of the late Robert and Letha Morton Jackson. Bill was a US Air Force veteran and longtime resident of Wilson County, NC. He enjoyed driving and was retired from the trucking industry. Mr. Jackson had many varied interests, but the most important thing was his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was married to the love of his life for 37 years, Mrs. Retha Jackson who predeceased him earlier this year. Survivors include his daughters, Crystal Galloway of Black Creek, NC, Brenda Tripp and her husband, Daniel of Stantonsburg, NC; sons, Tony Jackson of Durham, NC and David Shadding of Stantonsburg, NC. Also surviving are two grandchildren and six step grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, Mr. Jackson was also predeceased by his grandson, Cody Galloway.
A graveside service will be held in Stantonsburg Town Cemetery in Stantonsburg, NC with military honors on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at 11:00AM with the Reverend Tommy Hagan officiating. Friends are welcome at the home in Stantonsburg Monday and following the service on Tuesday.

Obituary Preview: Robert Eugene Thomas, 70, of Wilson, NC passed away on Wednesday December 22, 2021. He was born in Cumberland, MD, July 13, 1951, a son of Fred Thomas of Everett, PA, and the late Kathleen Potts Thomas. Most people knew him as Buck. Mr. Thomas was very proud that he was happily married to the love of his life, Debra Lynn Snyder of the home for 51 years.  He doted on his grandchildren. Buck served in the U.S. Navy and was an active supporter of veterans. Buck lived to hunt and fish and his family and friends had many stories of his adventures.  He was a prankster and enjoyed gently tormenting special people he loved. At the same time, he was an incredibly generous person and went out of his way to help people in need. Buck enjoyed listening to music for hours and was a supporter of Save the Manatee for years. In addition to his wife and father, also surviving are his daughter, Jennifer Simmons and her husband John Simmons of Tallahassee, FL; son, Robert Thomas, II and his wife Kaelyn Thomas of Middlesex, NC; sister, Linda Kane of Bedford, PA; four grandchildren, Harrison Simmons, Skylar and Trevor Thomas and Jason Zimmerman. In addition to his mother, Robert was predeceased by his sister Diana and his two brothers Terry and James.
A memorial service will be held later when family and friends will be notified.

Obituary Preview: Mrs. Janet Mercer Pridgen, 88, of Wilson, NC passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 11, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. A native of Wilson, NC, Janet was born November 24, 1933, a daughter of the late William Arthur Gay and Louise Simmons Gay.
Janet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a supervisor with Wrangler in Wilson for over 40 years. Mrs. Pridgen was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Janet enjoyed basketball and baseball and also played basketball in high school as well. She enjoyed walking and reading but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Ray Mercer and wife, MaryJo of Bailey, NC; daughters, Gail Mercer Joyner and her husband, Dean and Bess Mercer all of Wilson, NC; daughter-in-law, Martha Pridgen of Wilson, NC; grandchildren, Renee Joyner Vick of Wilson, NC, Brandon and Bradley Mercer of Bailey, NC, Robbie Mercer of Raleigh, NC, Matt Mercer and Jonathan Pridgen both of Wilson, NC. Matthew Vick and four great grandchildren also survive.
In addition to her parents Janet was predeceased by her husband Robin Pridgen; sister, Hilda Gay Rogerson; brother, Billy Gay.
A celebration of her life will be private at the convenience of the family.

Gonzalo is predeceased by a brother, Reymundo Leal Garcia.

Obituary Preview: Daniel Mosqueda Morales passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021 in Richmond, VA. He was born in Tabasco, MX on October 12, 1955 a son of the late Atilano Mosqueda Ruiz and Maria Cruz.
Daniel was married to the love of his life Gladis Alcudia Lopez for over forty-five years. He was a hard worker at a young age, moving to the United States in 2001 in search for a better future for his family. Mr. Morales lived in different states throughout his life lastly moving to Richmond, VA with his son Daniel. He will be remembered as a hard working Christian man who loved God and his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons, Daniel Mosqueda Alcudia of Richmond, VA; Oniel Mosquesda of Campeche Mexico; Joseluis and Adrian Mosqueda of Tabasco, MX; daughters, Miriam and Minelia Mosqueda of Campeche, MX; Maria Mosqueda of Tabasco, MX. Also many extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
In addition to his parents Mr. Morales is predeceased by his son, Josue Mosqueda.
Services will be held at a later date in Mexico.

Estuvo casado con el amor de su vida Gladis Alcudia López durante más de cuarenta y cinco años. Fue un gran trabajador a una edad temprano, mudándose a los Estados Unidos en 2001 en busca de un futuro mejor para su familia. Daniel había vivido en diferentes estados a lo largo de su vida, finalmente mudándose a Richmond, VA con su hijo Daniel. Será recordado como un buen trabajador y un hombre cristiano que amaba a Dios y a su familia.
Sobreviven además de su esposa sus hijos, Daniel Mosqueda Alcudia de Richmond, VA; Oniel Mosquesda de Campeche, México; Joseluis y Adrián Mosqueda de Tabasco, Mx; hijas, Miriam y Minelia Mosqueda de Campeche, México; María Mosqueda de Tabasco, MX. También muchos familiares y amigos que lo extrañarán mucho.

Dossie was a fixture at the American Legion for years where he loved to dance. A big NASCAR fan, Dossie was also involved within the local racing community, working with many teams buffing and shining cars.
Mr. Gardner is survived by his brother, Dickie Gardner, and sister, Jean Gardner; nephews, Jonathan Gardner, Tyler Gardner, and Brandon Gardner; nieces, Megan Evans and Morgan Evans; great niece, Ziaya Foxx.  Dossie made many friends who will also cherish his memory.
In addition to his parents, Dossie was predeceased by his sister, Joan Gardner Evans; brother, Michael Sean Gardner, and great nephew Kaden Evans Fleming.

He worked as a technician in the food industry for many years. Tim had many interests and they varied widely. He enjoyed traveling and especially the mountains of North Carolina in the fall. He also like professional wrestling “whoo the Nature Boy” Rick Flair was his favorite. Tim loved the Lord and was an active member of Harvest Fellowship Church in Rocky Mount, NC.
Survivors include his son, David Brinkley of Johnson County, NC; sister, Loretta Sue Davis and husband, Philip of Nashville, NC; grandsons, Darren Brinkley of Elm City, NC, Garrett Brinkley of Selma, NC, Dustin Taylor of Swansboro and Timothy Sykes of Wilson, NC; Lorrie Sanchez of Wilson, NC who was like a daughter to him. Also surviving is his special longtime friend, Wanda Brinkley of Stantonsburg, NC. Tim will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Brinkley’s wife, Cathy passed away just two days following his death. In addition to his parents Tim was predeceased by his son T.J. Brinkley; brothers, Thelton, Rocky and James Brinkley. She visited all 50 states and the Panama Canal as well as Canada. She enjoyed Days of Our Lives and watched the program since its inception in 1965. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Thomas Trukawinski in 2010.
She is survived by her son, David Trukawinski of Wilson, NC; daughters Susan Trukawinski of Cary, NC and Barbra Matrejek of Wilson, NC; her favorite child, her son-in-law, Chris Matrejek also of Wilson, NC; sister, Lynn Bartorillo of Chesapeake, VA; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Anthony, Thomas, Danielle and Shane Matrejek.
In addition to her parents and husband, Donna was predeceased by her sister Carole Schiavo.
