Dick's proudest accomplishments always revolved around his family. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he found immense satisfaction in helping others and fixing things whenever he could. His dedication to being a caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather was unwavering.
Dick is survived by his wife of over 63 years, Pat Lahr, as well as his children Carol Lahr Zunker (Rick) and Gary Lahr (Cindi). He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Elisa, Courtney, Taryn Lahr, and great-grandchild Nova Lahr. In the memories he has left behind with them, Dick's loving and compassionate spirit will continue to live on.

A visitation will be held on May 17th at Poole Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Woodstock from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Following this will be a Celebration of Life at the same location from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM. Friends and family are invited to join in commemorating Dick's remarkable life during these services.

One of Walter's proudest accomplishments was marrying the love of his life, with whom he grew up in Hapeville, Georgia. To this day, he still owns his wife's very first car, a 1961 Falcon. Walter is survived by his loving wife of over 61 years, Danya Simpson Richards; his children and their spouses Lee Richards (Brenda) and Michael Richards (Christi); as well as his grandchildren Tyler Richards (Elizabeth), Carson Richards (Shelley), and Abigail Richards (Michael). He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Richards and Agnes Ray. Services to honor and celebrate Walter's life will be held at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors in Morrow. Visitation will take place on April 22, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. The burial will then occur at Forest Lawn Cemetery in College Park at 12:30 PM.
