91, Schofield, died Monday, June 21, 2010 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born December 13, 1918 in Hancock. On November 18, 1939 he married Dolores M. Spatz in Dubuque, Iowa. She survives.
For more than 27 years Ray was the owner/operator of the Schofield Barber Shop and also worked at Drott Manufacturing Co. for eight years until his retirement. Some of Ray's pastimes included fishing, hunting, woodworking and tending to his vegetable and flower gardens. He also took pride in planting many varieties of trees but his true passion was his family, especially the time that he got to spend with his grandsons.
Ray proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores Seeley, Schofield, his daughter-in-law, Barbara Seeley, Valparaiso, Indiana, two grandchildren, Marc and Kris Seeley, his sisters-in-law, Genevieve Krueger, Mary Nienow and Gertie Spatz, all of Wausau, his brother-in-law, Bernard Spatz, Wausau along with many nieces and nephews.
Ray was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Seeley and two brothers, Vernon and Harry Seeley.
At Ray's request there will be no services.

She was born November 14, 1946 in Wausau, daughter of the late Ervin and Alma (Krenz) Burmeister.
She graduated from Marathon High School in 1964 and received an elementary education degree from the UW Madison in 1968. Leila worked at Wausau Insurance for 25 years and also enjoyed sewing, quilting, traveling and helping on the farm.
Survivors include one sister, Alda Burmeister; one brother, Alvin Burmeister, both of town of Stettin; four aunts, Norma Krenz, Anita Krenz, both of Wausau, Erma Burmeister, Marathon and Jean Burmeister, Athens; one uncle, Henry (Barbara) Burmeister, Athens; god child, Otto Birkholtz; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be 2 PM Thursday, August 28, 2008 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church , Rib Falls. The Rev. Terry Reich will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, town of Stettin. Friends may call Wednesday, August 27, 2008 from 5 – 9 PM at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again Thursday from Noon until the time of services at the church.

Mike had been employed with Greenheck Fan for more than seven years.
Mike proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Normand, Weston, his children, Kaylea and Tia Normand, both of Rib Mountain, his step-son, Calvin Jenkins, Weston, his parents, Maurice and Carol Normand, Marathon, his siblings, Tony Normand and Charles (Lori) Normand, both of Wausau, Paul (Becky) Normand, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and Maureen (Russell) Anklam, Marathon along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Tim graduated from Marathon High School in 1980. For 20 years, he worked for the former Kenko Inc., Brainard, Minn. and was currently employed with Integrity Grading and Excavating. Among his many interests, he enjoyed golfing, working on muscle cars and farming on the weekends in Marathon.

He was born August 10, 1926 in Marathon, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Gassner) Krautkramer. On September 6, 1954 he married Sylvia Wieloch at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. She survives.
After marriage, Joe had been employed as a welder in Milwaukee. Joe and Sylvia then operated a dairy and a ginseng farm in the Marathon area for many years until their retirement. He enjoyed repairing old machinery and reminiscing about the good old days when it was used. Among his favorite things to do were, playing cards, fishing and hunting. Family activities were always a high priority for Joe and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Krautkramer, Marathon, his children, Jeanne Grzesiak, Marathon, Carol (Kevin) Salber, Marathon, Dan (Mary Lou) Krautkramer, Marathon, Dorrie (Elton) Martyn, Marathon, Shirley (Ron) Huebsch, Wausau and Steve (Becky) Krautkramer, Marathon, 15 grandchildren, Ryan and Taylor Grzesiak, Ben (Steffanie) Salber, Angie (Randy) Young, Dusty and Tyler Salber, Megan, Mandy, Rusty and Jimmy Krautkramer, Kelly, Sammy and Joey Huebsch and Kenzie and Hunter Krautkramer and one great granddaughter, Bridget Salber. Joe is expecting two more great grandchildren later this year. He is further survived by his siblings, Marie Gau and Ceil (Emil) Zins, both of Wausau and Irene Cihlar and Lyle (Vernie) Krautkramer, Marathon along with many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Mitch Grzesiak, his siblings, Dolores Rader, Florence Witberler, Alois, Carl and LeRoy Krautkramer.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2008 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. The Rev. Joseph Diermeier and The Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. He was born January 20, 1917 in Marathon, son of the late Gustave and Catherine (Volhard) Franke. On April 28, 1951, he married Ruth Wagner at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. She survives.
LaVerne was a veteran of the United States Army serving as Sergeant from 1941-1945. He served in the European Theater and was a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge. LaVerne was an Assistant Brew Master for the former Marathon City Brewing Company and later worked for Wausau Homes until his retirement. Among his many interests, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at the cabin in Lincoln County. He was a former Trustee for the Marathon City Board and a charter member of the American Legion Alois Dreikosen Post #469, Marathon.
Survivors include, his wife, Ruth Franke, Marathon; three sons, LaVerne (Linda) Franke, Wausau, David (Lorrie) Franke, New London and Scott (Mary) Franke, Marathon; five grandchildren, Stephen, Nicole, Thomas, Mitchell and Nathan Franke; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer (Rick) Towne and Chris (Jill) Fochs; two step-great grandchildren, Colin Towne and Allison Fochs; one sister, Alvina Henrichs, Wausau; one brother, Donald Franke, Marathon; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Gregory, Gustave, Walter, Gilbert and Harvey Franke; and three sisters, Esther Skofronick, Alta Franke and Lorraine Franke.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, with full military honors conducted by the American Legion Post #469, Marathon. Friends may call Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. She was born November 22, 1924 in town of Emmet, daughter of the late John and Sarah (Gorman) Dahlke. On June 1, 1944 she married Clarence Streveler in Halder. He preceded her in death on May 4, 1963.
Nan worked at Marathon Co-op until her retirement. She was a member of the St. Mary Council of Catholic Women and worked with Color Vision for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed eating out and shopping with her friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol (James) Emon, Merrill; five grandchildren, Russell (Pamela) Emon, Wausau, DeEtte Emon, Sugar Camp, Meredith (Tony) Friese, Schofield, Lisa (Todd) Soukup, Mosinee and Jay (Carrie) Emon, Rib Mountain, six great grandchildren and one great great grandson; brother, Jack (Red) Dahlke, Halder; sister-in-law, Helen Dahlke, Las Vegas and many other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Clarence, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert "Glenn" Dahlke.

84, Marathon, died Monday, May 5, 2008 at Hospice House under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born November 4, 1923 in Marathon, son of the late Joseph and Martha (Heil) Hack. On June 9, 1948 he married Mae Wardius in Allenton, Wisconsin. She survives. He was a sergeant in the United States Army from 1943 until 1946 and was a member of the American Legion Alois Dreikosen Post No. 469, Marathon. Al had several jobs over the years including Wiedmeyer Farms in West Bend, Level Valley Dairy and Gehl Manufacturing. He then moved to Edgar and bought a dairy farm also working at Mundt Distributing and Johnson Oil. In 1963 he bought the home farm in Marathon and drove school bus for the Marathon School District and later worked at Marathon Cheese doing maintenance. It was his lifelong dream to own a restaurant and in 1978 he opened Hacks Diner. He loved horses and was a lifetime member of the Golden Horse Shoe Club. In his spare time he enjoyed camping up North with his wife, gardening and was never without his faithful companion, Skipper by his side. He will be remembered for his many sayings including, "have a mighty fine day", "finer than frogs hair" and his latest , "just like downtown."
Survivors include his wife, Mae, Marathon; children, Shirley (Brian) Schultz, Marathon, Charlotte Bales, West Bend, John (Candy) Hack, Marathon, Sharon (Harold Jr.) Theis, Marathon, Jean (Ernest Jr.) Walters, Mosinee, Thomas (Lori) Hack, Mosinee and Therese (Andrew) Deininger, Edgar; grandchildren, Eugene Loren, Chad Lemmer, Branden Schultz, Matthew Bales, Scott (special friend Joanna Nelson) Hack, Joseph Theis, Evan Walters, Melissa (Dan) Hager, Tyler Hack, Ryan (special friend Johanna Schmidt) Stieber and Megan Deininger; seven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; sister, Irene Karlen, Wausau; brother, Rufus (Marchita) Hack, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Donna Hack, Marathon and Joan Hack, Wausau, many other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Clarence "Tiny", Orville, Harry and Joseph Jr. "Sonny".
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at Noon on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Entombment will be in the Garden of Eternal Rest, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Wednesday, May 7, 2008 from 4 – 8 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be an American Legion Memorial Service at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday held by the American Legion Post No. 469, Marathon.

He was born August 24, 1941 in town of Ashippun, Dodge County, son of the late John E. and Edna M. (Alswager) Walker Sr. On October 28, 1967 he married Caroline L. Clough in Hartford, Wisconsin. She survives.
John was a dairy farmer his entire life and moved to the town of Hamburg in 1998. He enjoyed the simple things in life, especially dancing and fishing. John will be remembered for his efforts in helping found the Neosho County Christian School in Neosho, Wisconsin.
Survivors include his wife, Caroline, Athens; four children, Kevin Walker, Wausau, Jeff (Ann) Walker, Thomas Walker and Kimberly Conley, all of Athens; four grandchildren, Sterling, Christian and Haley Conley and Brittany Garett; two foster children, brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Jane Carr.

She was born August 12, 1944 in Wausau, daughter of the late Clive and Grace (Woitkovich) Weiland. On October 16, 1965 she married Melvin Stahel at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. He survives.
Clair was a homemaker and also worked at Major Industries in Wausau. Some of her favorite pastimes included playing cards, knitting, embroidering, crocheting and doing word search books.
Survivors besides her husband Melvin Stahel, Marathon include her children, Sarah (Larry) Galassi, Holland, Mich., Maria (Mike) Hornick, Grand Rapids, Mich., Leon Stahel and Daniel Stahel, both of Marathon, seven grandchildren and one half-sister, Sandra Brunn, Marathon and two nieces.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2008 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. The Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.

She was born May 19, 1936 in Rib Mountain, daughter of the late Emil and Verna (Ristow) Tesch. On June 25, 1955, she married Merlin Stahel at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, town of Stettin. He survives.
Jean was a homemaker, farmer and baker. She loved to garden and had a beautiful yard with hundreds of flowers that were enjoyed by everyone. Among her many interests, she enjoyed bowling, polka dancing, shopping, collecting dolls and playing sheepshead. Over the years, Jean baked and decorated many beautiful cakes for family, friends and the bakery at 2510 Restaurant. For every holiday, she took great pride in decorating her home and yard festively. She loved fishing with her husband and grandchildren and spending time with her family and friends. Jean was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxilliary Alois Dreikosen Post #469, Marathon.
Survivors include her husband, Merlin Stahel, town of Stettin; one son, Gerald (Carrie Salyers) Stahel, Marathon; three daughters, Roxanne (Chuck) Kaiser, Robin (Steven) Bloom and Renee (Paul) Mucha, all of Marathon; ten grandchildren, Jason (Angela) Stahel, Jamie (Rick) Weiler, Jeremy (Heidi Leffel) Stahel, Kurt (Amber Huebsch) Behnke, Derek Behnke, Andrew Bloom, Amy (Julio) Cruz and Beau, Luke and Skye Mucha; two step-grandchildren, Cody and Samantha Salyers; seven great-grandchildren, Shynia, Cheyanne and Dakota Stahel, Cody and Caylee Weiler, Carlie Stahel and Marcos Cruz; one brother, Kenneth (Moe) Tesch, The Dalles, Ore.; three sisters, Dorothy (Tony) Ivaska, Eagle River, Georgiania (Jake) Mohr, Balsam Lake, Wis. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Elmer, Delbert and Alvin Tesch; and one sister, Rose Radke.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, town of Stettin. Rev. Clarence Gall will officiate. Burial will be in the Stettin Christian Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. There will be an American Legion Ladies Auxilliary Memorial service at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Peter was an entrepreneur and businessman. He started his career with little money and resources by hauling logs and gravel in the depression era. Following this he saw an opportunity and developed a very successful heavy construction business. Throughout the years he always maintained his independence, humor, and integrity.
Survivors include two daughters, Alice Brien, Aspen, CO, and Sharon (Michael) Moore, Racine; eight grandchildren, Roxanne (Keith) Spindler, Mary (Steve) Lindner, Scott (Kristen) Schilling, Kevin Schilling, Poull Brien, Lindsay (Steve) Brien-McDonald, Amy and Rob Hameister; one brother, Paul (Jane) Kuyoth, Texas; three sisters, Julie Zapletal, California, Regina Papstein, New Jersey and Pauline (George) Lott, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, Helen, he preceded in death by one daughter, Jeanne Schilling; three sisters, Frances, Lucy, and Helen; and four brothers, Tony, Joe, Jacob, and James.

She was a devout Catholic and a member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women, the Justice and Peace Committee, and the Martha's at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Gladys also taught CCD at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. Among her favorite things to do were bowling, playing billiards, visiting with family and friends and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and in prayer.
Survivors include her husband, Norman "Red" Hack, Marathon; her children, Mary Hack, Marathon, Peter Hack, Marathon, Kathleen (David) Ostrowski, Ringle, Marge (Thomas) Kreager, Mosinee; two grandchildren, Katie Suchomski and Johnny Kreager; four siblings, Violet Gorski, Schofield, Daniel (Judy) Stoltz, Weston, Billy (Betty) Stoltz, Schofield and Phillip Stoltz, Schofield.
