Michael was born on September 24, 1960, in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of Keith Meddock of Clarendon, who survives, and the late Patricia Wolff Meddock. He was a graduate of Sheffield High School. Michael worked at McDonald’s and Binghamton Lumber. He enjoyed word games, kayaking, fishing, canoeing and was mechanically inclined. In addition to his father, Michael is survived by his two daughters Patricia, and Virginia; sister Sandra Meddock; stepbrothers Bruce Capen and Steven Capen; his former wife and caretaker, Sarah Meddock and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, Michael was preceded in death by brother Robert Meddock; Lawrence Capen; and sister Theresa Geers. Obituary Preview: Elsie Vidella Barrett, 96, of Russell, PA, passed away April 17, 2022, following a brief illness. Elsie was born on November 3, 1925, at home on Swede Hill, Russell, PA, the daughter of the late Victor and Vidella R. Lundmark. Elsie graduated from Russell High School. She worked at Barrett’s Garage as a bookkeeper with her late husband along with being a homemaker. She was involved with the Auxiliary Board for Warren General Hospital. She was a longtime member of the Akeley United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed baking, gardening, knitting and most of all, Elsie enjoyed her family, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many friends. Elsie is survived by her four children Jeffrey V. Barrett and wife Darlene of Russell, PA, Charles E. Barrett and wife Judy of Russell, PA, Virginia A. “Ginny” Barrett of Warren, PA, and Rebecca S. McClement and husband Barry of Russell, PA; five grandchildren, Angela Page and husband Eric of Colchester, Connecticut, Nicole Morine of Berkley, Michigan, Kelsie Morine of Russell, PA, Scott Barrett and wife Janine of Littleton, Colorado, and Jason Morine of Pittsburgh, PA; three great grandchildren Kiersten Page, Danny Page, and Brooklyn Barrett; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death on September 3, 2003, by her husband, William E. Barrett, whom she married on June 7, 1947; and her sisters, Evelyn Haller, Bernice Sears, Anna Lundmark, and Beverly Hunt. Dot was born on April 15, 1944, in Warren, PA, the daughter of the late Claude and Bessie Byers. Dot worked at Loranger Manufacturing as a press operator from which she retired. Dot was a devout member of the Church of Christ in Scandia, PA. She enjoyed nature and wildlife, especially watching, and listening to the birds. Her favorite of all was her family vacations in the OBX, spending time with family and enjoying the ocean. She enjoyed her family and her many church friends. Dot is survived by her four children Dora Miller of Erie, PA, Terri Green of North Carolina, Karen Carr of Ashtabula, OH, and Tina Johnson and husband Jason of Warren, PA; grandchildren Stephen, Lil’ Karen, David, Liz, Paul, and Naomi; and many great grandchildren. Obituary Preview: Rhinda Beth Siffin, 64, of Clarendon, PA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 8, 2022. Rhinda was born October 30, 1957, in Sunbury, PA, the daughter of the late Dr. Donald E. Siffin and Jeannette Mead Siffin, who survives. Rhinda was a 1976 graduate of Greenwood High School in Millerstown, PA. She continued her education and attended Pitt Bradford her first year and then received her Bachelor of Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She received her teaching certificate in Special Education. She taught learning support classes at Allegheny Valley in Clarendon, PA and Sheffield, PA. Rhinda was involved with all of the children in both schools in one way or another. Her teaching career was very important to Rhinda, and she always referred to the students as “my kids.” A cancer survivor of many years, Rhinda appreciated all of God’s creatures. She especially enjoyed listening to and watching the birds. She enjoyed cooking and as a crafter, liked making cards for special occasions. Rhinda was also an avid reader. Along with her mother, she is survived by her brothers Kurt Siffin and wife Lorri K. of Long Neck, Delaware and Kirk Siffin of Harrisburg, PA; a few aunts; nephew Brett McGowan of Millerstown, PA; nieces Dr. Karly Siffin of Philadelphia, PA and Taelor Siffin of Harrisburg, PA; her best friend of many years, Laura Miller of Clarendon, PA; and her furry friend, Peaches. Along with her father, she is preceded in death by her brother Kent Siffin of Millerstown, PA and several aunts and uncles. Jeanette was born September 25, 1944, in Warren, PA, the daughter of the late John J. and Luella C. (Littlefield) Zurcher. Jeanette was a lifelong Warren area resident, and a 1964 graduate of Youngsville High School. She was employed at Warren State Hospital for 30 years, retiring in 1999. Jeanette will be fondly remembered for her love of family. Her favorite past times were spent at the Casino, she extremely enjoyed her many annual family vacations to Florida and her backyard pool where she could spend her days baking in the sun. She had a great love for her 5 fur kitties, Willow, Bud, Mama, Buster, and Squirt. She also loved german shepherds and horses and she was Elvis’s # 1 fan. Jeanette will be forever missed by her family and many friends. She is survived by her fiancé Phil Rockwell, Warren. She attended Sibley School of Nursing in Washington, DC and became a registered nurse, working at the Jersey Shore General Hospital from 1955-1974. Lucille enjoyed knitting and reading, and especially enjoyed her family and will be missed as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Lucille is survived by her children Shelly Ristau, and husband Shawn, of Warren, PA, Brent Erskine and wife Zena from Asheville, NY, and Mark Erskine and wife Shelly of Georgetown, DE; brother Richard Plummer of Las Vegas, NV; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Robinell was born on June 2, 1929, in Akeley, PA, the daughter of the late Robert and Julia A. Baker Ellberg. Robinell was a 1947 graduate of high school in Moultrie, GA. She and her family lived in Kinzua prior to the Dam, and was employed as an operator for G.E., Bell Telephone, and later as a seamstress for Levison Brothers. Robinell was a fantastic artist and was well known throughout the area for her work, and had attended the Wiltsie Church in Russell, PA. She will long be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Robinell is survived by her children, Denise Grant of Russell, PA, and Steven Grant and wife Christine of Fredonia, NY; three grandchildren Amanda, David and Robert; three great grandchildren Addison, Daphne and Marlo; and many nieces and nephews. Obituary Preview: Rodney R. Anderson, 66, passed away on March 25, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA., surrounded by his loving family.
Rod was born on March 2, 1956, in Warren, PA, the son of the late Raymond Anderson and Maxine Uplinger Anderson.
As a lifetime truck driver he began his career driving coal trucks with his father. He continued his driving career at Crossett Inc. for several years and was later employed by Advantage Tanklines for the remainder.
He was a member of the Eagles Club of Warren. In his free time he enjoyed drag racing, Nascar, fishing, hunting, and flying airplanes. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and will be missed as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Rod is survived by his wife, Brenda M. Martin Anderson, whom he met in 1995 and married in 2000; children Michele Anderson and husband Adam Charney of Phoenix, AZ, LaRenda Martin of Warren, PA, Lindsay Anderson of Warren, PA, Sheanna Anderson of Warren, PA; sisters Cheryl Ramirez and husband John of the Dominican Republic and Donna Evans of Starbrick, PA, brother Duane Anderson and wife Robin of Warren, PA; grandchildren Hadley Madara (Lindsay), Tayton, Zerick, and Zayla Jackman (LaRenda); and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Rod is preceded in death by sisters Dianna Anderson, Julie Anderson and an infant daughter Melinda Anderson.

Obituary Preview: Judy M. Bunce (Adams) ,79, of Warren, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday March 25, 2022, into the loving arms of her Savior, with her loving husband Bill by her side.
Judy was born on February 28, 1943, in Franklin, Pa, the daughter, and youngest of 12 to the late Earl and Mabel (Hause) Adams. She was a 1961 graduate of Rocky Grove High School. After High School, at the age of 18, Judy and Bill were married and she began working for Rocky Grove High School as a secretary to the principal. Judy and Bill soon moved to Warren where they made their home and raised a family. Judy was a stay-at-home mom and watched children for a few school teachers in the county. As her children got older, she worked at Beaty Jr. High School cafeteria, as receptionist for Dr. Morgan and was a personal secretary for Mrs. DeFrees. She later worked at Whirley Industries from where she retired.
Judy and her husband are members of the Grace United Methodist Church where she served on many committees, taught Sunday school, worked in the kitchen preparing meals and sang in the Choir. She was also a volunteer for the Women’s Auxiliary at Warren General Hospital. Judy was creative, thoughtful and loving as was evident in the beautiful home she made for her family and the way she cared for family and friends. Her back yard has always been a sight to behold in the summer months when it is filled with flowers in bloom. Judy loved cooking, baking, welcoming family and friends for a meal, reading, gardening, volunteering and music but was most happy when spending time with her family. Her presence will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
Judy is survived by her loving husband and high school sweetheart, William L. Bunce Jr. to whom she was married to for 60 years; her children, W. Gary Bunce and wife Tamara of Durham, NC., Kathleen Minges of Collegeville, PA.; four grandchildren, Jacob and Averie Bunce of Durham, NC., Megan Minges of Spring City, PA., and Ronald Minges Jr. of Collegeville, Pa; her siblings, Ruth Eakin, Jack Adams and wife Betty, Linda Cochran and husband Chuck; sister-in-law Ann Adams, sister-in-law, Mary Kay (Bunce) Campbell and husband Russ; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Earl Adams and wife Dorothy, Betty Hannah and husband Foster, Marie Baker and husband Freeman, Bill Adams, Bob Adams and wife Jane, Harold Adams and wife Anna, Paul Adams and wife Beverly; an infant brother, Jimmy Adams; and brother-in-law, Ray Eakin.

Carol was born on March 6, 1947, the daughter of the late Elton Davis and Virginia Wonderling Davis. A lifelong area resident, she was a 1964 graduate of Eisenhower High School. Carol worked at Blair Corporation for over 30 years from which she retired. She enjoyed the casino, and bowling and just being at home crocheting and spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren wrestle and all of their accomplishments. Carol is survived by her husband, Albert Charles Jaquay, whom she married on November 5, 1954; two children Todd Jaquay and his wife Holly of Bear Lake, PA and Jason Jaquay of Warren, PA; sister Darlene Palmer of Warren, PA; four grandchildren Mason, Logan, Gannon, and Stella Jaquay; and several nieces and nephews. Daniel Allison Howe - July 10, 1941 - March 21, 2022

Obituary Preview: Daniel Allison Howe passed away peacefully on March 21, 2022 at the age of 80 years old. Raised in Millcreek, PA, Daniel graduated from McDowell High School as a member of the class of 1959. He then served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Damato as an ET-5 electronic engineer. Afterwards, he made Warren, PA his home. He was employed as an elevator/escalator constructor and master mechanic for several companies including Otis, Seeler and Schindler. He took great pride in his work, enjoyed traveling to different locations and meeting new coworkers and friends. Daniel was a member of numerous clubs and organizations: Founding member of the Upper Allegheny Muzzleloaders, Tall Cedars, Northern Masonic Scottish Rite, Coudersport Consistory, the Moose Lodge, the American Legion, and the Multiple Sclerosis support group. He donated to many charities dear to his heart like the American Cancer Association, the NRA, and Wounded Warrior. His hobbies and interests included flying with his father and uncles, photography, hunting and fishing. He was a gun collector and enjoyed refurbishing and making rifles and muzzleloaders. He looked forward to weekly breakfasts with friends at the Frewsburg Dinner Bell Restaurant and Wendy’s Diner in Russell, PA. He was a proud “adopted-grandfather” to Christina, Stephen and Amani. Daniel will always be remembered for having a story to share, and his love for ice cream and chocolate chip cookies. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Elizabeth (Myers) Howe, and his sister, Beverly (Howe) Shaffer. He is survived by his children, Charles Howe and wife Anna, Michele (Howe) Mascia, and Allison Howe; grandchildren Nicholas Howe, Erin Howe, Miranda Mascia and Amber Mascia; several nieces and nephews, including his niece Jennifer Shaffer of Ft Myers, FL.; and, of course, by his pup, Lacy “Gracy”. Dave was born on October 4, 1962, in Lancaster, PA, the son of the late William Brewer and Janet Lindemin Brewer. Dave worked at PennDOT as an equipment operator for over 20 years where he retired due to illness. Dave enjoyed playing pool and darts but especially loved spending time with family and his grandchildren.
Dave is survived by his three children, Josh Anderson of Youngsville, PA, Jennifer Brewer of Warren, PA, and Alisa Kightlinger and husband Brandon of Sheffield, PA; brother Edward Brewer and wife Sherry of Warren, PA; seven grandchildren Katie Kemery, Michael Brewer, Katrina Hennessy, Devin Kightlinger, Hailey Brewer, Tyler Conklin, and Lanah Kightlinger; one great grandchild, Selena Brewer; and several nieces and nephews.

John "Jack" R. Shattuck - June 06, 1938 - March 14, 2022

Obituary Preview: John R. “Jack” Shattuck, 83, passed away on March 14, 2022, at Hamot in Erie, PA. Jack was born on June 6, 1938, the son of the late Fred W. Shattuck and Martha Mathis Shattuck. A lifelong area resident, Jack was a 1956 graduate of Warren High School. He graduated from the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL. Jack always had a passion to be a pilot and learned to fly at a young age. He began his flying career working in Bradford flying for the Dorn’s. He was also employed by the Cessna and Piper Aircraft companies, delivering single engine aircraft across the Atlantic to Europe. He flew these planes by compass only, and rather than passengers, he carried fuel and oil to make these long journeys. Continuing his career as a pilot, he founded the Trans Air Executive Company in Warren and flew mail and passengers from the Warren Airport, (now Betts Field) and many other surrounding airports. He logged countless hours flying airplanes from single engines to private jets. In 1976, Jack became the Chief Pilot for United Refining Company and was the Manager of the United Jet Center at the Jamestown Airport. He finally retired from United in 2004 after 28 years of service. Jack was a member of the Conewango Valley Country Club; he loved to play golf. He was also a member of The Elks Lodge #223, and the Moose Lodge #109. He enjoyed boating on the Allegheny Reservoir, riding ATV’s and fishing and hunting. He truly enjoyed his time in Florida during the winters. He loved having all his family around him; he enjoyed the chaos. Jack will long be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He is survived by his wife Nancy J. Phanco Shattuck; his children: Linda Gebhardt (Tad), Tammy Jensen (Bart), Debra Swanson (Scott), Michael Natale (Patricia), Jason Shattuck (Tara). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and his loyal canine companion Jake. Jack is also survived by two children from a previous marriage. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by brothers Fred “Ted” Shattuck, who was killed in action in the Vietnam War, Paul E. Shattuck, two other brothers, and one sister. Josephine is survived by four children Beverly Lawson and husband Kenneth of Booneville, NY, Roger Briggs of Hermitage, PA, Deborah Bednez and husband John of Custer City, PA, and Todd Briggs of Warren, PA; a sister Helen English of Starbrick, PA; twelve grandchildren; twenty- three great grandchildren; and four great- great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death in 2004 by her husband Willard Mason Briggs, whom she married on May 10, 1941; son Wellan Briggs; brothers John, Miles, and Leo Tremblay; sisters Stella Jeffords and Rosalie Woerth; an infant brother Alzer and infant sister Mary.

Jim was a member of the Struthers Hose and a former member of the Eagles Club. Jim was a Master Gardener, both at work and at home. He enjoyed creating many fond memories hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren, and later in life enjoyed the casino. Jim will long be remembered as a loving husband of 74 years, a loving father, grandfather and great -grandfather, and many friends throughout his life.
Jim is survived by his wife Chloe A. Wilson Neiswonger, whom he married on July 12, 1947; four children, Judy Spencer and husband Jeffrey of Warren, PA, Kenneth Neiswonger and wife Linda of Warren, PA, Richard Neiswonger and wife Ronda of Corry, PA, and Brenda Walters and husband Jeffrey of Warren, PA; nine grandchildren, Bud Retterer, Scott Neiswonger, Kevin Neiswonger, Marc Neiswonger, Amanda McElhaney, Eric Neiswonger, Ashley Temple, Bradley Walters, Rachel Walters; eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Brad was involved in Habitat for Humanity in Warren, PA. He was a JDL Football coach in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and a Youth Rugby coach in Cocoa Beach, FL. He was involved with the Masonic Lodge and Athletes to Champions in St. Augustine, FL, where he helped to install a football field in the Artic Circle in Barrow, AK. Brad was also involved in the Power Cross Youth Program in Statesville, NC.
Brad is survived by his wife Julie Hendrickson Hill; two children Madisson and Mason Hill of Melbourne, FL; mother Joyce Hill of Warren, PA; sister Lori VanAtta and husband David of Valencia, PA; niece Margia Hansen and husband Justin of Clarendon, PA.

Peg loved to have fun and brought smiles to everyone around her. She enjoyed her family, grandchildren, and many friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Marian was born May 18, 1928, in Busti, NY, the daughter of the late Ruth Anderson and John Lindholm.  Marian resided in Russell for most of her life, moving to Bradford Ecumenical Home in 2016 to be closer to her daughter.  She loved her small town of Russell and it was always home for her.  She was proud of her Swedish heritage and still often spoke Swedish.  She enjoyed cooking for her family especially her traditional Swedish Christmas dinner.  She was known for sharing with others her baked goods such as her Cardamon rolls, sweet rolls, rye bread and spritz cookies.
Marian was employed by Bell Telephone in Warren for 25 years before retiring in 1993.  She then worked part time for Nesmith Insurance.  She was a long-time member of the Russell United Methodist church and member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Warren with her husband Lawrence.
She is survived by 5 children, Sandra Baum of Santa Barbara, CA and Papillion, NE, Fred Johnson and his wife Janice of Bradenton, FL. Greg Johnson and his wife Karlene of Seneca, PA. Bruce Johnson and his wife Maria of Russell, PA and Cheryl Spittler of Bradford, PA.  4 step- children Lawrence Eller Jr and his wife Marcia. Barbara Deegan, Dennis Eller and his wife Dixie and Bonnie Dressler and her husband Dennis.  Marian is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Marian was preceded in death in 2013 by her husband Lawrence Eller, whom she married on July 2, 2001.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister Mildred Peterson, her grandson Jonathan Johnson, her sons-in-law Eugene Baum and Edwin Spittler Jr.

Shirley was employed with the Lutheran Social Services as an aide, from which she retired in 1997. Shirley was an active member of the Pilgrim Memorial United Church of Christ and the Westside Women’s Club. Her regular hobbies included daily crossword puzzles, playing cards, and collecting miniatures for her dollhouse that was displayed for all to admire.
Shirley will be forever remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and longtime friend of many.
Shirley is survived by four daughters, Juli Nemeth and her husband Mike, of Elberon, VA, Cynthia Dupere and her husband Allen, of Dallas, GA, Susan Williams and her husband Ken, of Warren, PA, and Brenda Holt, of Franklin, PA; a sister, Beverly Marie and her husband Ron, of Fort Myers, FL; nine grandchildren, Theresa and Hannah Nemeth, Amber Hagemann and husband Kyle, Kyle Swift and wife Kristin, Alissa Dupere, Natasha Sposata and husband Zack, Robert and Bruce Gould, and Allyson Holt; six great grandchildren, Emmett and Owen Hagemann, Brandon Swift, Jewel Sylvia, and Violet and Azalea Bradbury; and nieces Kelli and Kim.
