James T. Burrell - October 10, 1980 - April 13, 2022

Departed: 04/13/2022 (Phoenix)
Obituary Preview: James T. Burrell, better known as JT, passed away on April 13th, 2022, after a strong battle with congestive heart failure.
JT was born on October 10th, 1980, to Douglas W. Burrell Sr. and Sharon Denise Burrell in Bellflower, CA. After graduating from high school in Moreno Valley, CA, JT relocated to Phoenix, AZ to be near his mother and Family.
JT loved being loved and couldn’t stand being alone. Family was everything to him and if he called you friend, then you were family. And very much like our father, if you messed with his family, the bull would come out. Yes, we all know JT was a fighter, right up until his last day on this earth he fought. Growing up JT loved dancing, basketball and following his sister to all the parties. Which is how he became everybody’s little brother.
JT is survived by his children, Ajanee Burrell, Shyanne Burrell, James Burrell II, Ayden Burrell, Ava Burrell, and Talon; his brother, Douglas W. Burrell Jr.; his sister, Antoinette Burrell-Williams; his brother-in-law, Seth Williams Jr; his sister-in-law, Monina Burrell; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and his daughter, Lady.
The family would like to thank all of those who showed JT love in his final days. Your calls, visits and prayers gave our brother the opportunity to see and hear how much he was loved, that we all were there for him; he was not alone, and he will be missed.
But your 1st best friends, your big brother and sister, Doug and Toni; and your baby cousins, James and Terhia, will miss you most.

Anthony Jerome Phillips was born December 8, 1969 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Edna Phillips (aka Alaya Kali) and his father Michael J. Gavin.  He was preceded in death by his Mother, Father and Sister Valeria Davis. He moved to Arizona when he was ten with his Mother, which he was not happy about, however, he grew to love the sunshine. Anthony or Tony as he is known by his family attended Alhambra High School, but eventually got his G.E.D.  He began his career in Automotive Detailing as a young adult and maintained his own business Fleet Recon Services for over twenty-five years. In 2017 Anthony found sobriety from alcoholism and drugs after attending Friday services at the Arizona Deliverance Center, founded by Michael W. Smith. Shortly after he became a born-again Believer and  was baptized by Vivian, his big sister, Deacon John his older brother, and several others at Holy Faith Home Fellowship – Founded by Joel Sanchez. Anthony made a noble decision in 2015 to be an organ donor. His family honored his request and he gave many gifts that will help a significant number of people in the future.
Anthony will be remembered for his contagious smile, hearty laugh, bear hugs, sense of humor, story-telling, the spiritual journey he shared with many, and the passion he had for helping others. We know he was a master automotive detailer who loved cars, especially muscle cars and classics. His passion was loud music as he drove down the street singing in his pristine 2-Door Silver Tahoe, dancing and cooking good food. Anyone close to him knew he loved women, doughnuts and those little “Jim Beans” you get at Circle K, which he tried to divorce too many times to count. Anthony departed this life on March 27, 2022 after being in a coma for 18 days following complications from brain surgery. He is survived by his oldest brother Deacon John Phillips and big sister Apostle Vivian Phillips. They partnered in a family ministry People Empowered Worldwide (PEW) to bring hope, healing, love and revelation to those who needed it. He had two bonus children, DaMir and Marina Jagic, whom he loved and raised as his own and a biological daughter Alaya Phillips. He has several grandchildren who adored him including Carter, Kennedy and Meeka Jagic, and Kuran Lovell Schwab and Khaza Deon-Anthony Jarrett. He found refuge, love and peace with his significant other Eve Johnson who was loyal and diligent in caring for him. Tony loved his nieces and nephews Kandice Phillips, Ddevin Davis and DeAsia Davis. He reverenced Apostle Michael Paul Sterling, Founder - Kingdom of God Apostolic & Prophetic Ministries as his Spiritual Father who called him his beloved Son. His long-time running buddies were Ed Watson Jr., Eric Mosley, Matthew Dwayne Talton, Marvin Finley, Darrell Bunton, Anthony Williams (who preceded him in death), Calvin Byron, Ted Bornstein and Thomas J. Velonis who all loved him like a brother. Tony’s childhood was marked by his love for his cousin Collier Lyons. He left many family members and a host of friends whom he loved dearly. He will be missed! Why are obituaries important?

Obituaries serve as a way to share news of a loved one's passing with friends, family, and community. They provide a sense of closure and allow people to pay their respects. Obituaries can also be a valuable resource for genealogists and historians.
