Diana worked as a supervisor at Auerbach Bathrobes, for 14 years, before retiring. She was a parishioner of Santo Christo Parish and member of the Santo Christo Senior Group. She enjoyed dancing and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughter Dina Pires (husband Arthur Tavares), of Somerset; her grandson Jason (wife Bethany); her great grandson Ethan; her siblings Irene Gonsalves and Setelio Isidoro, both of Portugal; several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jose Isidoro.
Her funeral will be held Thursday, April 28, at 8:00 AM, from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River, MA 02721 followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia St., Fall River. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Wednesday night, from 5 – 7 PM.

He was the loving husband of Maria Conceicao (Monte) Pereira, he would have celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary next month.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Manuel Pereira and Diamantina Fernandes.
Arsenio was a very hard worker.  He had a passion for buying, fixing, and selling houses (he enjoyed it very much). He also worked as a machine operator for many years at Swan Finishing, before retiring. He was a lifelong parishioner of Santo Christo Church. He loved gardening, tending to his grapevines, and making his own wine. But what was most important to Arsenio was his family that he loved dearly, especially his grandchildren.  He adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren more than anything (they were his world).
Along with his wife of almost 50 years, survivors include his two children Nelson Pereira, of Fall River, and Nancy Oliveira (husband David), of Somerset; his brother Manuel Pereira (wife Ana), of Swansea; his two sisters Isabel Duarte (husband the late Gilbert), of Westport, and Helena Pereira, of Fall River; his grandchildren Timothy Pereira, Alexis Craveiro, Nathan, Briella and Noah Oliveira; his great grandchildren Audrianna, Sophia, Adrienne, and Preston; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, April 6, from 8:30 – 10:30 AM, from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River, MA 02721. She was the widow of the late Joseph A. Mello, Jr.
Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late John P. Miranda and Iscolastinha (Julio) Miranda.
Mrs. Mello worked as a machine operator at the former Samesta Manufacturing, retiring in 1980. Lil loved playing bingo with her daughter-in-law Mary and hosting family dinners every Sunday night. She was also an avid New England sports fan, and enjoyed cheering on the Bruins, Red Sox, and Patriots.
Survivors include her son Edward Mello and his wife Mary, of Fall River; her sister Mary Mello, of Pascoag, RI; 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 26 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late John Mello and Natalie Bolton.
Calling hours will be held Friday, April 8, from 9 – 10:30 AM, from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River, MA 02721. A funeral mass will be held, following the calling hours, at 11AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia St., Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.

Martins (Michelle), and Robert Martins (Shanna), all of Fall River; her sister Ana Beatrice Lacroix, of Fall River; her granddaughter Bianca (Martins) Do Rego; her great grandson Enzo Do Rego; several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Leonarda de Medeiros, Osvalda Camara, Manuel de Medeiros, and Fernando de Medeiros.

Alzira was born in Agua Retorta, Sao Miguel, Azores, a daughter of the late Manuel Inocencio Vieira and Maria Da Conceicao Carreiro.
Mrs. Salsinha worked for over 20 years as a machine operator at the former Beacon Garment, in Fall River. She was a member of Santo Christo Church and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She was a well known personality as she always participated on the radio talk show, Voz do Emigrante. After her retirement, She realized her dream of singing and recorded a few CDs written with her own lyrics in Portuguese. She was also very good with poetry and had her own book of poems published about her life.
She is survived by two daughters, Connie Paulson (husband Lyle) of Tuftonboro, New Hampshire, and Ana Thibault (husband Daniel) of Somerset; a son, Paul Salsinha of Fall River; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one grandchild and her late siblings: Margarida Aguiar, Maria Vieira Cabral, Jose Vieira, and Laudalino Vieira.

Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Domingos Rego and Artemisia Rego. She lived in Swansea Massachusetts for 55 years and recently moved down to South Carolina full time this past summer.
She was a graduate of Salve Regina College and Bridgewater State College. Maureen had worked for most of her career as a School Teacher in the Fall River Public School Department.
Maureen was a mother and grandmother who loved to be with her daughter and granddaughter, they were her life. She enjoyed traveling, going for walks with friends, spending time in the pool, and spending time with her loving family.  She loved the warm weather.
Survivors include her daughter Alexandria Molina (husband Diego), of Providence; her granddaughter Abbigail, her brothers: William Rego, of Florida, and Thomas Rego, of Somerset; her nephews William and Kyle Rego, her beloved dog Brady as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Mr. Lourenco was a member of Santo Christo Church and enjoyed playing softball and participating in Karate, with his friends. He was also a member of Fall River Sport’s Club and the former Academica and Tennessee Boys clubs.
Along with his companion, survivors include his brother Jesse Lourenco and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joseph Lourenco.
Burial and graveside service, to which friends and relatives are invited, will be held Thursday, February 3, 2022, at 10 AM, at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Please meet directly at the cemetery.

Obituary Preview: FALL RIVER… Jose S. DeMelo, 96, of Fall River, passed away December 25, 2021, at home after many years of loving and devoted care from his wife, in Fall River.
He was the loving husband of Izaura (Rebello) DeMello and earlier in the week celebrated 68 years of marriage.
Jose was born in Sao Pedro De Nordestinho, Sao Miguel, Azores. He was a son of the late Manuel Soares DeMelo and Mariana Raposo de Sousa. He immigrated to the United States in 1954.
Mr. DeMelo was retired. He began life working beside his father and was always known as a very hard worker. He learned masonry, carpentry and many other trades early on in life and utilized those skills in refurbishing many homes. He was a parishioner of the Church of the Good Shepard and the former Our Lady of Angels. He enjoyed telling stories of his life experiences and talking and spending time with friends and family, He had the opportunity to help many others throughout his life. He enjoyed the occasional trip to Foxwoods with his wife and scratching a winning lottery ticket. His greatest desire and joy was in taking care of his children and grandchildren and see them gain a good education and grow to success.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his sons: David J. Mello (late wife Dorene) and Manuel S. Mello (wife Jennifer), both of Fall River, his sisters: Rodesia, and Isaura; his brother Leonildo; his grandchildren: Alison, Alex (Chelsea), Lesley (Jared), Andrew, Emily (Baxter), and Daniel; his great grandson Max; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Manuel, Antone, Gil, Mariano, Diniz, Ernesto and sisters Maria, Natalia, and Esmaria.

Obituary Preview: Doreen Marie Arruda, 53 of Fall River, passed away December 25th during the early hours of Christmas Morning, in the comfort of her own home.
She leaves behind her grandson Mason Ferris, her companion dog Poochka, her son-in-law Michael Ferris, her daughter Dorn Marie Arruda, namesake of her most beloved sister, by whom she is predeceased, her cousin Jason Primo, nieces and nephews, and all of her friends and loved ones.
She was a caring and generous soul, a dear friend to many, and a kind mother figure to anyone who needed her. Never too shy to give tough love, yet in her own very special, gentle way.
Her fondest hobbies included karaoke, local politics and spending quality time with her one and only grandchild.
She is survived by her mother Carol (Pelletier) Arruda.
She joins her father, William Arruda and her dearest sister Dorn, in Heaven with open arms.
A celebration of life may be held at a later date, after some time to process family grief.

She was a parishioner of the former Our Lady of Angles Church for many years and Santo Christo Church. A devout Catholic, Maria loved praying, watching Mass on TV, and saying the rosary several times per day.
She is survived by her son: Mario P. Branco (wife Colleen), of Dacula, GA; her sisters: Isabel Mota (husband Manuel), of Kitchener, Canada, and Maria do Carmo Caloura (late husband Manuel), of Ajax, Canada; her grandchildren: Ryan, Taryn, and Jared; great grandchildren: Adrian, Ava, and Louisa; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

Manuel was born in Furnas, Sao Miguel, Azores. He was the son of the late Jose Pacheco Elizardo and Maria do Carmo Elizardo.
Prior to retiring, Manuel worked as a laborer for Capaldi Brothers and Campanella Corp. He was a communicant and devoted member of Santo Christo Parish Church in Fall River, MA., an avid fan of the Benfica Soccer Team, and a member of the Fall River Sports Club. Manuel also loved gardening, and generously shared all the fruits and vegetables he grew with friends and family. Most of all, Manuel loved spending time with his family.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his children: Joseph Pacheco and wife Amanda, James Pacheco and wife Cindy, Christina Pacheco-DaRocha and husband Joseph, Manuel Pacheco and companion Betty Costa, and David Pacheco and wife Elizabeth. He is also survived by his six grandchildren: Nicholas DaRocha, Samantha DaRocha, Ryan Pacheco, Jackie Pacheco, Jocelyn Pacheco-Meekins, and Nicholas Pacheco. He is also survived by his sister, Maria dos Anjos Pacheco, his beloved godchildren, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joseph Elizardo, Maria do Carmo Guilherme, and Maria Jose Cabral.
