He was born on Oct. 10, 1957, in Goliad, Texas to the late Benito and Antonia (Reyes) Perez. He married Maria Garcia on July 31, 2006, in Goliad, Tx.
He was a graduate of Goliad High School and had retired from TX Dot after 13 years of service. He was also a former Goliad City Councilman, having served from 2012-2014.
Alfred carried the title of father in many loving ways. He was a father, stepfather, foster-father, adoptive-father, godfather, grandfather, and great grandfather. He carried them with honor and with an extreme loving heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Guadalupe Guerra, and Joann Webb; his brothers, Joe-Pete and Benito Perez, Jr; his in-laws, Ramon, and Alicia Garcia.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Maria Alicia (Garcia) Perez; sons, Robert Perez of Victoria, Tx and Christopher, Nazerath, Ezara, and Abraham Perez all of Beeville; daughters, Crystal (James) Perales of Victoria, Melissa (David) Moreno, Melinda (Richard) Tapia and Myra (Cesario) Falcon all of Beeville; seven sisters, Mary Pat Sandobal of Austin, Dolores Lira of Corpus Christi, Janie (Estella Vasquez) Davila of Goliad, Sylvia (Dwight) Olson of California, Wanda (Lionel) Garcia of Goliad, Martha Perez of Pt. Karen was born in Grinnell, IA on October 19, 1938 to Edward and Dorothy Hughes. Karen attended PanAm Travel School in Omaha, Nebraska. Lived in New York and Chicago. Karen married Leroy Greiner in Grinnell, Iowa on June 6th, 1957. In support of her husband’s military career, Karen raised her children while stationed in multiple locations across North America. Settling in south Texas Karen developed meaningful friendships and a passion for gardening and animals. Karen was a devoted member of the Catholic Church who dedicated her time to charities and prayer.
Survived by her five children. Sons: Shawn, Gregory (Michelle), Mark, Randall (Deborah) Greiner and daughter Cynthia Brookshire. Eleven grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren. And three great great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: parents Edward and Dorothy Hughes, Husband Leroy Greiner, daughter Tracy Greiner, sister Linda Hayes, granddaughter Amber Greiner, and Son in-law Joey Brookshire.

Doris H. Wilson - November 13, 1926 - March 01, 2022

Obituary Preview: It is with great sorrow that we mourn the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, Doris Houlihan Wilson, of Beeville, Texas at the age of 95.
Doris was born in Gussettville, a small community along the banks of the Nueces River in Live Oak County in 1926 to Charles Edward and Myrtle Gallagher Houlihan. The family moved to Beeville when Doris was a toddler where she lived until after her graduation from Beeville High School.
Doris joins her loved ones Milton (Willie) Wilson, her husband; Lisa Stedman Stewart, her daughter; Myldred Robinson, sister and Charles Houlihan, brother; and parents Ed and Myrtle Houlihan. Former husbands Edward Stelzer and Troy Stedman also predecease Doris.
Doris will be lovingly remembered by her son Egan Stelzer (Janice), grandchildren Jeffrey Stelzer (Sara), Angela Marsh (James), and Tayler Bavender (Josh). Seven great grandchildren also survive her:  Camryn, Madison and Emersyn Stelzer, U.S. Army Specialist Cole Marsh and Avery Marsh, Liam and Nolan Bavender. Doris is also survived by a sister-in-law, Eloise Houlihan; three nieces Cheryl Jackson, Jana Robinson and Debbie Houlihan (Dennis Lee) and a nephew, Eddie Houlihan (Deborah).
Doris, a lifelong Catholic, was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She sang in the choir, was a member of the altar and vigil societies and volunteered with bingo. She also volunteered as a Pink Lady at Christus Spohn Hospital in the gift shop/snack bar for many years.
Doris was proud of her Irish heritage and her close ties to her immediate and extended family. Doris was funny and always quick with the wise cracks. She was also headstrong and never afraid to give you her opinion. She was a loving, caring person who will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Beeville with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. followed by a Rosary, a funeral Mass, and burial at Gussettville Cemetery in Live Oak County. Pallbearers are Charles Bludau, Richard Bludau, Joe Garcia, Eddie Houlihan, James Marsh III, and Jeff Stelzer. Honorary pallbearers are Gino Garcia, John Matthews, and Dr. Gary Schultz.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff of John Paul II Nursing Home in Kenedy, Texas, for their care and compassion.

She was the first of her family as a young Mexican American to graduate high school and attend college. She went on to have a successful career in real estate in the Dallas metro area before returning to her hometown of Beeville. She continued to sell real estate for a short time before becoming the executive secretary for the City Manager of Beeville. She also worked in the county clerk’s office and as a supervisor of inmate records for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice at the McConnell Unit before retiring.
She loved spending time with her large and devoted family, always had a smile on her face, and shared a kind and encouraging word to everyone she met. She was an avid reader, and many times read a book a day. She also enjoyed quilting and was longtime member of the St. Joseph’s Quilt Guild Society, where she quilted with friends over the years.

Her only maternal uncle, Cerildo Alonzo wife Olga, maternal sisters-in-laws Gloria Alonzo (late Joe Alonzo), Socorro Alonzo (late Refugio Alonzo). Her close relatives, the Alonzo sisters, Martha, Patricia, Yolanda, Dolores and Angelina and Sandra Munoz. Her beloved friend, Benino “Benny” Hernandez. She loved going to the movies with her daughters and playing Bunco was also one of her favorite pastimes
She was a faithful member of Adams Street Church of Christ and had volunteered for many years at the local hospital as a member of the Spohn Ladies Auxiliary.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Patricia (Hargreaves) Miller and one grandson, Cody Randall Jones.
She is survived by her husband, John Young of Beeville; two daughters, Julie (Harvey) Hardwick of George West and Jennie (Gilbert) Vandever of Beeville; one son, Douglas Roy (Tisha) Young of Stephenville, Tx; two sisters, Marilyn Strickland and Lois Denholm both of Georgetown, Tx. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and was blessed with numerous bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren and her beloved pet cat, “Nugget”.
