Frances S. Sauer - October 14, 1932 - April 24, 2021

Departed: 04/24/2021 (West Palm Beach)
Obituary Preview: Frances “Franny” Sauer passed to her next adventure peacefully on April 24, 2021,  at her home.
She was born in Massillon, Ohio, the youngest of three children. She attended Grier School for Girls in Pennsylvania which cemented her lifelong love of horses and riding. After graduating from college she worked briefly in social work, and then gravitated to teaching. Fran was ever mindful of those students with need of lunch or special attention.
Fran was married three times; one to get out of town, second for love and companionship, and the last to help out a couple of friends. She was a champion of dogs and adopted many over her long life. She did have a strong aversion to cats and blamed them for the decimation of other furry creatures and birds.
Her home had an open door policy and she was the finest listening ear, asking pertinent questions to dig deeper into one’s life. Her memory of people’s stories was demonstrated by her close relationships with any and all she came in contact. Her flip-top phone was constantly ringing or being used, with many visitors showing up for a week or two. Franny was the glue and magnet of the neighborhood and those lucky enough to be in her orbit.
Fran lived in AZ, OH, FL, Bahamas, Bermuda, and CA. She settled in her hometown to take care of her ailing mother for several years. After her mother passed in 1993 she maintained a small house in Massillon and one in West Palm Beach, the first real estate she had ever owned.
She had a strong connection with her fellow students of A Course in Miracles. Until Covid hit, they met at her home every Friday morning for decades. She is survived by her sister Carolyn Cox, brother –in-law Ed Cox, and sister-in-law Ginger Sorg, and 4 nieces and one nephew. Having no children of her own allowed her to play an important role in her nieces’ and nephews’ lives. One of them even met her future husband flying out to see her Aunt Fran wherever she was living at the time!
There will be a memorial gathering later this year. If you wish to donate in her memory, there wasn’t a charity she didn’t like! A few of her favorites are Habitat for Humanity, Guide Dog for the Blind, and Environmental Defense Fund.
Fran indeed made this world a kinder, more generous place and those of us that were touched by her light and love can carry it forward in her memory.

Dick Sabol - April 05, 1937 - April 22, 2021

Departed: 04/22/2021 (West Palm Beach)
Obituary Preview: DICK SABOL, STAGE AND SCREEN ACTOR
Dick Sabol passed away peacefully on April 22, 2021 after a long battle with cancer. Born on April 5, 1937 in Yonkers, New York, Dick was a critically acclaimed actor for his roles in Cotton Comes to Harlem (1970) and Come Back Charleston Blue (1972)—both produced by Samuel Goldwyn, Jr.
On Broadway, Dick was in the award-winning musicals “A Little Night Music,” produced and directed by Hal Prince, and “Promises, Promises,” produced by David Merrick. He also created the role of Boris in “Three Bags Full,” by Jerome Chodorov and directed by Gower Champion. He made appearances on all major TV networks.  Some of his most notable television credits include the specials “Bob Hope in Central Park,” “The Man Without a Country,” starring Cliff Robertson, and two segments of “The Jackie Gleason Show”.  He was also featured as Tim Braithwaite in the gothic soap opera “Dark Shadows” for a memorable episode in 1970.
Before launching his career in show business, Dick honorably served in the US Navy as a Radar Controlman on the U.S.S. Holder during the Korean War from 1955-1958.  He was known as “Stretch” for his 6’5” height.  After his military service, his tall, commanding stature helped him land many roles as police officers, athletes, and imposing “heavies” such as Big Jule in “Guys and Dolls”, which he played on stage many times across the country.
Perhaps his proudest achievement, however, was serving as a Sponsor for Alcoholics Anonymous. Sober for over 50 years, Dick helped countless people overcome their addiction to alcohol and was a fixture at local meetings in and around Margate, FL and outside Albany, NY.
He was a loving father and grandfather and is survived by his son, Richard Sabol and wife, Maria, granddaughter, Veronica, as well as a nephew, John, three nieces, and their families.  He was predeceased by his older brother, John, a skilled carpenter and contractor, who died in 2008.  They grew up together in Fairlawn, NJ.
A private memorial service will be held at a future date.

God called to Heaven one of Earth’s kindest souls on March 30, 2021. Phyllis was born April 28, 1930 on her mother’s birthday in New Haven, CT. She grew up in Danbury, CT with her six brothers, three sisters and many nieces and nephews.
Phyllis graduated Danbury High School in 1948 and later attended the Stone School of Business. She married her first husband, Joseph J. Adinolfi in 1955. Together they had a son and daughter and lived in Orange, CT while running a successful, family-style Italian restaurant, The Rose Garden. Phyllis also worked for over 10 years at St. Raphael’s/Yale Hospital in New Haven, CT. She moved with her daughter to Florida in 1978. There she worked for the Hospital of the Palm Beaches, the City of Lake Worth and Bohrens United Van Lines, retiring in 1996. She also volunteered at her church and served on the board of her HOA for many years. She met Jack E. Gleason in 1987, and they later married, spending 20 happy years with him until his passing in 2007.
Phyllis, always wanting to help others, became a volunteer at Gardens Hospital in the ICU waiting room in 2007. She accumulated over 1,000 volunteer hours and was recognized as Volunteer of the Year in 2015. She was devoted to helping others.
Of all the things she loved in the world, she loved her family the most. She spent countless hours with her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren Matthew, Michael and Christiana. She was undoubtedly the best mother and grandmother, having sleepovers, never ever missing a birthday, sporting event, family get-together or neighborhood party. Her love was equally reciprocated by her devoted and loving family.
Phyllis was pre-deceased by her parents, David Louis Fredericks and Mary Mooney Fredericks; six brothers; three sisters; her niece, Jeanne Nowlin; her husband, Jack E. Gleason; her former husband, Joseph J. Adinolfi; and her son, David J. Adinolfi.
She leaves behind to carry on her memory, her daughter Susan (Adinolfi) Ricci, son-in-law Dr. Richard Ricci; their children, Matthew, Michael, and Christiana of North Palm Beach; granddaughter, Miranda Adinolfi of Connecticut, and countless friends and family.
The family would like to extend a warm thank you to her caregivers Winnie Walker, Syliana Beaubrun and Eracka Carey for their kindness and devotion. Because of you, she was able to remain in her home by the Intracoastal and watch the boats and birds go by.
She is at peace with God. Look up at the sky and know the stars will be a little brighter.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 10, 2021, at St. Clare Catholic Church, North Palm Beach, with Rev. Fr. William D. O'Shea presiding.
