Christian Logan Bazar “Logan” - August 22, 1964 - April 10, 2022

Departed: 04/10/2022 (Milwaukee)
Obituary Preview: Found eternal peace on April 10, 2022 at age 57. Made in Texas, proud and loving father of Christian A. Bazar, Catherine G. Bazar, and Jillian R. Bazar. Dedicated son of James Guy Bazar and Mary A. Bazar (nee Hirshfield). Beloved brother of Courtney (The Rev. Owen) Henderson. Further survived by an army of relatives and friends and his furry friend, Marty.
Logan passed from this world due to natural causes, but he was an unnaturally talented, intelligent, loving, kind, and generous man. Jack of all trades, master of all; somehow, he was able to shine brighter in each of multiple fields than most people could manage in a single one. If he tried it, he excelled in it. He spent years as a professional actor/singer/dancer, touring the country in dramas, comedies, musical theatre, and improv groups. He played acoustic and electric guitar, bass, percussion, harmonica, mandolin, piano, and pretty much any other instrument he picked up. Oh, did we mention the songwriting? This dude was a prolific lyricist and composer, and his songs were good - I mean, he would do things like casually enter a competition to create a theme song for a huge, nationally-syndicated podcast and actually get chosen. He won a ridiculous number of honors for his video production, directing, writing, and editing. He taught himself computer coding and became an adjunct professor of it. He created museum installations and worked with publicly traded companies to strategize ways to increase their market share; yet somehow we haven't exhausted his list of skills and accomplishments.
Still, Logan was proudest of his family and friends. His children were his greatest joy - he would spend hours talking the voices, watching late night TV eating donuts, and getting fully immersed in the world of One Piece with them. He loved hosting his family and friends -- let's be real; he considered his friends his family as well -- for movie nights, dinners, and live music shows. His jokes were well-told and his humor largely inappropriate. And he would give you the shirt off his back even if it was his last one and it was -4 degrees outside.
Those who know Logan know that he was a wearer of hats. Please grab a favorite one of your own and join us for a wake in his honor at Northshore Funeral Services on Friday, April 15 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., with a gathering to celebrate his life at 6:30 p.m. There will be tears, music, laughter, and love. And probably some swearing.

Donald Ray Carlson - November 05, 1948 - April 08, 2022

Departed: 04/08/2022 (Milwaukee)
Obituary Preview: It is with great sorrow that we said good-bye to our dear friend, brother, uncle and mentor on
April 1st, 2022. Donald Ray Carlson was born on November 5th, 1948 in Cedar Falls, Iowa to Maurine Pulis and Keith Frederick Carlson. While his childhood years were all spent in Iowa, he spent his adult life in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Don was a “Renaissance” man. Whatever challenge he set for himself, Don never failed to master it with strength and integrity. In every career choice and endeavor sought he was zealous about being the best, and simply put, he was. Don was an accomplished artist, art teacher, herbalist, acupuncturist, vegan chef, physical therapist, and most recently, dog trainer. He strove to excel at every task and devoted his life to treating and healing his patients. His belief in the Spirit and the power of positive thinking permeated all that he did. Don truly had the kindest soul in the “cosmos” and the “hands of God.” The world is a smaller place without his countenance.
He is survived by his sister Donna (Bob) Grosse, nephew Robert “Shane'' Grosse, great-nephew Trey (Marissa) Vaillant, Bobby Shea Grosse, and Robert “Bo” Grosse. In addition, survived by his “Milwaukee Family” including closest friends; Julie Berkopec, Bob and Marianne Berkopec Deb Larkey MD, Jack Harris, Basha, Lainie & Rachel Harris, Kerry Saver, Kimberly & Jadon Jaeger. He was preceded in death by his parents and niece Shawn Marie Vaillant. Don was a man with many “families” in Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Iowa and beyond. While too numerous to mention all the names, they include longtime friends, past patients, family of origin, colleagues, granddog Bailey and his sweet dog “Cooper.” Each of you had a special place in his huge heart. You know who you are. He will be sorely missed, may his name be a blessing.
“Celebration of Life” for Donald Ray Carlson will be held on Saturday, June 11th, 2022 at Northshore Funeral Services at 2:00 PM. Please join us to honor the life of this incredible human who changed each of our lives forever.

Beverly Colville Gorsuch - Unknown - April 05, 2022

Departed: 04/05/2022 (Milwaukee)
Obituary Preview: Gorsuch, Beverly Colville. Passed away on April 5, 2022 just 8 days short of her ninetieth birthday. Bev was born in an Iowa farmhouse during the Great Depression. Her chronology is that of a courageous, forward-thinking, and deeply spiritual woman. Bev spent two years studying Home Economics at Iowa State, transferred to the University of Iowa to complete a BA in Sociology, and then went to Yale University where, unable to be ordained as a woman, she graduated with a Masters in Religious Education. She met her husband, John (Jack) Phillip Gorsuch at Yale. They moved together to Seattle where Jack was the Rector at Epiphany Episcopal Church. Bev worked in various roles in service of disadvantaged populations.
At age forty, Bev returned to school to get her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Washington. This was followed by extensive post-graduate training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. She was in private practice in psychotherapy in Seattle for many years and was a founding member of The Northwest Alliance for Psychoanalytic Study.
In the early 1980's, Bev and Jack brought together their professional skills and experience in order to teach and write about the spiritual life and founded the Center for Spiritual Development in Seattle. Together, they wrote the book -- An Invitation to the Spiritual Journey ---- published by the Paulist Press in 1990. In 1991, they left Seattle, first to live in a community with Hindu-Christian roots located in Northern California, and then to Bellingham, Washington. In both places, Bev worked as a spiritual teacher and mentor. They moved together to Wisconsin in 2014 when Bev began to develop dementia, in order to be closer to their daughter Meg.
Bev’s husband Jack predeceased her (2017). She is survived by her loving daughters Anne Gorsuch (Hal Siden) and Meg Hopkins (Jim Best), her sister Carolyn Eaton, late brother William Colville, as well as grandchildren Hannah Siden, Ellie Siden, and Connor Hopkins. Should you wish to make a donation in remembrance of Bev’s life, the family suggests a gift of time or money to a charity of your choice.

George Philip Kinzfogl Jr. - August 29, 1946 - March 31, 2022

Departed: 03/31/2022 (Milwaukee)
Obituary Preview: George Philip Kinzfogl Jr. passed away at age 75 on March 31, 2022.
He and his wife Lesley enjoyed the symphony of life’s journey together for over 50 years. They raised their three sons, cherished seeing them all happily married, and most especially loved every moment spent with their grandchildren. Even before his cancer diagnosis, and certainly afterwards, one of George’s happiest places was his chair where he could sit and talk with friends and family. Lesley’s devotion to caring for George throughout his cancer treatments was an act of love and grace. She was fortunate to have the support of friends, neighbors, and family.  A special thank you to Steve, Phil, Alan and John who accompanied George to many of his chemotherapy sessions. George’s entire family is additionally grateful for the compassionate care by Dr. Binod Dhakal and his entire team at the Froedert Cancer Center, without whose stalwart advocacy the gift of these last two years would not have been possible.
George loved being Gramps. Tom and his wife Carlie moving to Milwaukee shortly after the birth of Frederick George Kinzfogl,” Freddie,” brought hope and joy to George and Lesley throughout his cancer treatments. He took great pleasure in seeing his granddaughter Elise, and her parents John and Gina, on visits back and forth and via Google Meets during the pandemic. George and Kathy’s children Michael, Christine, and Tommy were blessed to have their Gramps in their lives for so many years. Regular visits to and from their Nana and Gramps were special events that formed an indelible bond of love and memory for them all.
George and Lesley celebrated his 75th birthday surrounded by their children and grandchildren this past August. It was a wonderful celebration of a great man and the family for which he was so proud.
He was kind to family, friends, and strangers alike. He took a sincere interest in the lives and dignity of everyone he met. He did not, however, shy away from vocal irreverence on matters of both humor and principle, or the occasional errant golf shot. He formed deep and meaningful friendships with those closest to him, playing golf and sheepshead with lifelong companions.
He was born on August 29, 1946, to George Philip Kinzfogl Sr. and Margaret Else Kinzfogl. He was the oldest of four siblings and is predeceased by his parents and his sister Joan. He was a graduate of Marquette High School and Marquette University. He worked in sales for 38 years for Milport Chemical, a company co-founded by his father. For four decades he was a role model for others seeking sobriety through Alcoholics Anonymous.
George is survived by his wife, Lesley Wittig Kinzfogl; his son George Philip Kinzfogl III, wife Kathy Dolan Kinzfogl, and their three children Michael, Christine, and Tommy of Sudbury, MA; his son John, wife Gina Cantrell-Kinzfogl and their daughter Elise of Oakland, CA; his son Tom, wife Carlie Hanson Kinzfogl, and their son Frederick George of Whitefish Bay, WI; his sister Jean and her husband Elmo of Pelican Lake, WI; his sister Kathy and her husband Brian of Swan Lake, MT; and the many friends to whom he was family and whose lives would not have been complete without George’s presence.
A wake to celebrate George’s life will be held at North Shore Funeral Services, 3601 N. Oakland Avenue, Shorewood, WI on Saturday, April 16, 2022 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. If desired, donations may be made to World Central Kitchen (wck.org) or Southern Poverty Law Center (splcenter.org)

Why are obituaries important?

Obituaries serve as a way to notify friends, family, and community members of a person's passing, allowing them to pay their respects and offer condolences. They also provide a sense of closure and help to celebrate the life of the deceased.

Who writes an obituary?

How do I handle errors or inaccuracies in an already-published obituary?

Contact the publication or platform directly to report any errors or inaccuracies. They should be able to correct the issue promptly.
