James Hsiu-Hsiung Lee - April 10, 1938 - June 27, 2021

Departed: 06/27/2021 (Northbrook)
Obituary Preview: Lee, James H.
James, Hsiu-Hsiung, Lee was born on April 10, 1938, at I-Lan City, Taiwan. His dad, Dr. Chao-Huei Lee, had been a successful western-medicine General
Practitioner, and his mom, San-Sin Chung, a devoted Christian and homemaker. James grew up in a big residence, with the front ground section used as the family clinic, many private rooms in the rear ground-level section and upstairs, an inner-court garden, sizeable fishpond with fountain, piano, ping-pong table, two technicians and two
pharmacy assistants to assist dad, two house maids and two laundry maids to assist mom. James should have been a happy lad growing up in such an environment. However,
perhaps because he had two brothers and one sister ahead of him, two brothers and three sisters behind him, James was not as well-guided, and cared for as he should be. He got by academically in elementary school and junior high. Two subjects he loved,
were sports and music. The first pressure came as he entered the Senior High, when he had to pick a major in preparation of the College Entrance Exam. Dad tried to force him to major in medicine or science without success, because he had no interest in those fields.
Eventually he majored in English Literature, and graduated from National Cheng-Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan, in 1961.
The next challenge came when he had to find a job/career. Dad used all his influences trying to assist him finding a teaching job in local high schools. No luck, because the under-employment at that time was severe. The only viable way out seemed to be seeking an advanced degree in the US. Fortunately, he passed the Exam for Studying Abroad, and he came to Chicago area alone in 1963.
The next challenge was not as easy as the previous ones: In rapid succession, or sometimes simultaneously he had to study for an advanced degree, work, find a life-long mate, and raising kids. He tried to make a career in social work, psychology, didn’t work out. Finally, he made it in data processing and programming and stuck to that field for 30 years. Only with the grace of God, he got a beautiful and capable girl, by the name of Christine, Huei-Mei, Cheng, agreed to marry him. Together, they have raised four lovely and thoughtful kids: Daniel, Cori, Joanne and Cecilia. From 1974 to 1977, he also sweated through the MBA Program at the Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University.
One good event leads to another, and during the 5th lay-off from a commercial computer programming job, James went through a strenuous battery of tests, interviews and background checks, and he was accepted as a Linguistic Analyst by the Chicago Regional Office of FBI in 2003. He as greatly benefitted by the terrible tragedy of 9/11, occurred in New York. At last, God bless him with a career, which matches his aptitude, ability and interest. God has a beautiful plan in James’ life.
It’s immensely satisfying for James to witness his 2nd daughter, Joanne, married to Andrew Lee, together producing his first Grand Daughter Faith; his 1st daughter, Cori, married to Ken Bouska; and 3rd daughter, Cecilia, married to Alan Tou. He earnestly prays that one day, his only son, Daniel, will find his love, and establish his new family.
James passed away contentedly on June 27, 2021, at the age of 83. From the book of Ecclesiastes: Everything in heaven has an appointed time 3:1 There is a time to begin and to conclude life 3:2 There is a time to give birth and to die 3:2a There is a time to plant and to uproot what is planted 3:2b There is a time to tear down (break through) and to build up 3:3b There is a time to mourn and to light hearted 3:4 There is a time to weep and a time to laugh 3:4a There is time to mourn and to dance There is a time to keep and to let go 3:5 There is a time to hope and give up hope 3:6 There is a time to search and to give up as lost 3:6a There is a time to be silent and to speak 3:7b

Randy A. Boucha - October 23, 1952 - December 06, 2020

Departed: 12/06/2020 (Northbrook)
Obituary Preview: Randy Boucha, age 68. Devoted husband of 35 years to Shari Boucha. Loving father to Leann and Jessica. Adored brother to the late Kathy (Mickey) Salvatore, Larry (the late Nancy) Boucha. Beloved uncle to the late Michael, Amy (Dave) Larson, Ariah Fine, Keane (Sarah) Fine, and Chelsea Fine. Fond brother-in-law to Steve (Cyndi) Fine and Barry Fine.
Randy Boucha was part-time fisherman, part-time rock star, and full-time funniest guy he knew. He taught his daughters the science of the perfect cast and the enjoyment of a quiet day on the lake when no bites pulled the line. Randy would bless his family with daily concerts, strumming on his Ibanez guitar and singing, sometimes off-pitch, to his favorites – Eric Clapton, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, and The Eagles. Always vinyl records, of course. He was the king of all dad jokes, always laughing at his own wit, even when his sense of humor went completely over our heads. Randy’s expertise in the kitchen was always appreciated, even when we caused him minor frustration by not coming to the table right when everything was hot! He could fix our cars, whip up a mouthwatering apple pie, and mediate three women bickering, all in one afternoon. Most of all, he was an incredible husband and amazing father, and will be missed more than words can ever say.
