Carolyn Louise Powe - April 22, 1961 - February 12, 2024

Departed: 02/12/2024 (Mt. Vernon)
Obituary Preview: Carolyn Louise Jordan Powe was born April 22, 1961, to the late Samuel and Clotilde Mitchell Jordan. She was a graduate of McIntosh High School Class of 1979. She had a heart of gold, and her genuine love of people could
be felt by all who interacted with her. Cal, Carol, or Momma Carol, as she was affectionately called, was a character in her own right. She always had a smile and a joke, even when she wasn’t feeling the best herself. Her love and devotion to children and her family knew no limits. She was known as the community and team mom while her sons Courtney and Carl participated in various sports and activities. She was the neighborhood taxi, transporting children to and from games or activities, hosting get togethers, or sideline coaching from the stands. When she became a grandmother, she made sure to see and talk to them as much as possible, often letting them have their way even when mom and dad said no.
She would just tell them to hush and keep it moving, all the while, pointing that finger.
Carolyn confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of St. Union Baptist Church, McIntosh AL, and later joined Little Bethel Baptist Church, Vinegar Bend, AL, where she served as a faithful and dedicated member, until her health began to fail. She met and married the love of her life, Carl Curtis Powe, Sr., November 7, 1987. To this union 2 children were born,
Courtney and Carl Powe Jr. Preceding her in death are her parents, Samuel and Clotilde Jordan; sisters, Voncille Jordan Johnson, Eula Mae
Reed, and Keda Sherray Jordan; and one brother, Samuel Jordan, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memories, a loving and devoted husband, Carl Powe Sr., three loving and devoted sons, Courtney Powe, Carl (Laine) Powe, and Matthew ( Nikki) Luscious.; 3 god children whom she adored as her own, Michael (Melissa) Jordan, Jamie Turner, and Terrance (Bubba) Clay; eleven grand- children: Bailey Powe, Christen Powe, Ariel Brown, Landon Brown, Brianne Curry, Aaliyah Luscious, Jaden Luscious, Haley Lucious, and Allie Luscious; two great grandchildren; Aiden Brown and Laylani Colley; 5 siblings: Richard (Veronica) Jordan Sr., Katie (Joe) Russell, Charles (Belinda) Jordan Sr., and Joseph (Tara) Jordan Sr.; one sister in law, Ann Brown; three brothers in law: Charles Powe Jr, Van ( Jackie) Powe, Larry (Mary) Powe and Leon (Janet) Powe; 1 great aunt, Mable Skanes, three great uncles: Darryl (Mary) Jordan, Glen Jordan, and Sylvester (Cynthia) Skanes Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews,
cousins, and numerous friends.
