Jennifer Barbara Clark - November 15, 1947 - April 16, 2024

Departed: 04/16/2024 (Bellingham)
Obituary Preview: Jennifer Barbara (Taplett) Clark passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born on November 15, 1947 to Raymond and Audrey Taplett in Wenatchee, WA. Shortly after graduating from Eastmont High School in East Wenatchee in 1966, Jennifer met the love of her life, Arthur Clark. They began their happily ever after life on March 16, 1968. In the fall of 1969, they moved to Western Washington and began their quest to find the perfect property to build their dream log home and raise a family.
From the moment Jennifer had her first child, she excelled at motherhood and was the foundation of her family. She and Art raised four children. She was a constant supporter and encourager for all her children and grandchildren. She attended every activity, sports event, concert, and competition they participated in just to cheer them on and give them an encouraging face in the crowd.
Jennifer loved traveling with her family to the Oregon Coast; spending time with her grandchildren; long walks on the beach and road trips with Art; taking pictures and scrapbooking the memories. Her next biggest passion was her log home that she and Art built from the ground up. Every element was designed and created by the two of them. When she wasn’t filling her home with love and kindness, she was outside surrounding it with beauty and tranquility.
Jennifer dedicated over forty years to Sandy Point Improvement Company, where she retired from general manager in 2015.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Audrey, her infant son, Christopher Robin, and her sister, Susan. She is survived by her husband, Art; children, Angela (Dean), Jeff (Lisa), Joel (Leslie) and Alan (Jordan); grandchildren, Colten, Emilia, Audrey, Addysen and Cassian; and her sisters, Jackie Day and Tammi Livermont.

Jill C Wolfe - November 23, 1961 - February 03, 2024

Departed: 02/03/2024 (Bellingham)
Obituary Preview: Jill C. Wolfe was born in Iowa City, Iowa on November 23, 1961, to Judith and Joe Wolfe Sr. Jill is survived by her father and three brothers, Joe Wolfe, Andrew Wolfe, Tim Wolfe and her husband David Jefferson. Jill died on February 3, 2024, at midday in her house surrounded by loved ones. Jill was diagnosed with terminal metastatic lung and brain cancer in late August 2022. She lived 17 months following the diagnosis, 12 of them were fairly good but, the last 5 months were difficult and painful when the cancer spread to her spine and hips. We are very grateful to Dr. Bill Hall and his team at the Cascade Cancer Center, Dr. Rafeal Santana-Davila and his team with the Fred Hutch Center, and the Cancer Team at Peace Health. Their compassion and guidance were invaluable.
Jill loved simplicity, honesty, and lived her life with a soft touch on this world. Her favorite places were remote camp sites that were silent and untouched, where she could gaze at the stars and contemplate life. Any place she lived had to be close to a park so she could walk with her true loves, dogs. She lived adjacent to Whatcom Falls Park since 1998 and knew every nook and cranny. She worked for eighteen and a half years as a State Social Worker helping people move out of nursing homes and transition back to more natural environments. Her favorite part was listening to her clients’ stories, they warmed her heart and deepened her love for life. Jill had a deep appreciation and respect for the environment and by not taking more than what was needed. By design, Jill bought all her clothes used, bought things when they were a good deal and never spent money foolishly.
If you were Jill’s friend, then you earned that honor and had a friend for life. She spoke her truth to people with compassion, clarity, and thoughtfulness. She had no time for “takers and fakers.” In the end, she had 3-4 good friends standing by with the best one being her husband, David Jefferson.
Jill and David met in Eugene Oregon and traveled to Bend, Boise, Seattle and finally landed in Bellingham. They both sought degrees that gave then the opportunity to live well and seek a life of meaningful employment.
Most of all, Jill loved to laugh, and she would laugh hard. Her favorite things were watching YouTube comedy shows and watching David bust a move to a random song or TV jingle. Jill was one of the good ones and she had a heart that wanted to live to 90. Sadly, she didn’t get that chance and we are all going to miss her among the living.

Margo L Sandifer - February 27, 1949 - January 27, 2024

Departed: 01/27/2024 (Bellingham)
Obituary Preview: Beloved mother, friend, and fabric collector, Margo Linda Sandifer (né de los Angeles), died from complications of chemotherapy on Saturday, January 27 in Bellingham, Washington. Known to many as Margo or Linda, and sometimes Maggie, she was deeply loved by friends and family. Margo was born in San Jose, California on February 27, 1949 to Dolores Perez and later adopted by her stepfather, Raymond de los Angeles.
Margo was a gentle but courageous spirit and a loyal friend. She attended San Jose College for Medical Assistants, where she earned a Medical Assistant Certificate, and had a long career in that field. After high school, she married Ron Larsen, with whom she had two sons, Sean and Ryan. Together, they moved to Japan in 1979, where they lived for a few years. It was in Japan that Margo began a life-long love and appreciation for East Asian cultures, including her encyclopedic knowledge of contemporary Korean television dramas. Speaking of which, have you seen “Attorney Woo”? Margo recommends it.
Margo returned to San Jose with Sean and Ryan and later married Lee Sandifer, and together they had a daughter, Kristen. Shortly after Kristen was born in 1990, the family moved to Gardnerville, Nevada for a new start. Once Sean and Ryan left home for university, Margo and Kristen moved to Carson City, where she would stay until 2017. As a single mom, she was selfless and indefatigable, working in an office by day and cleaning them by night to make ends meet. She took pride in preparing her children for adulthood, and they all left home knowing how to take care of themselves and others. In them, she produced an aerospace engineer (Sean), a university administrator and Ph.D. (Ryan), and a surgical veterinary nurse (Kristen)—all successful, kind people, contributing to their communities.
Margo was a creative, and her favorite medium was sewing and quilting. The estate she leaves behind is mostly fabric. Margo was an avid reader, devouring books, both fiction and non-fiction, and of multiple genres. She was a connoisseur of British murder mysteries—nothing too edgy—Poirot and Vera were her favorites. Margo loved a bargain. One of her favorite past times was telling you what something retailed for compared to the sale price she paid for it. At the farmers market each weekend, you could find Margo picking out handmade cards to send to her loved ones. She also loved to travel and took a very meaningful trip with her son, Ryan, and son-in-law, Travis, to Ireland in 2016 to connect with the heritage of her biological father, neither of whom would ever know each other.
In 2017, Margo moved from Carson City to join Ryan and Travis in Bellingham, Washington. She wanted to live by the sea, and Travis indulged her antiquing habit. Margo was madly, deeply in love with her eight grandchildren: Savannah, Charlotte, Magnolia, Avelyn, Ethan, Penny, Atlas, and Daphne. She never missed an opportunity to mail them curated gifts and treats for every birthday and holiday. She loved cats, and she surreptitiously fed Eleanor (a cat) from her plate at the table—she wasn’t supposed to, but we all knew.
Margo is survived by her sister, Donna de los Angeles; her eldest son, Sean (Nicole); her middle son, Ryan (Travis); daughter, Kristen (Brandon); and stepdaughter, April. And she is survived by numerous family members and friends who feel her loss deeply—friends and family who received a card from her on their birthdays and holidays, who she had long conversations with on the phone, and who were beneficiaries of her love, kindness, and friendship. Life wasn’t very fair to Margo—she experienced a lot of hard knocks from the beginning to the very end of her life, but she never lost her way, she never became bitter or cynical, and she always remained kind and loving. In that way, she had a life well-lived, and losing her is felt profoundly by many.
A memorial will be held in the spring, with details forthcoming.

Addison Kroix Stickney - December 21, 1989 - December 04, 2023

Departed: 12/04/2023 (Bellingham)
Obituary Preview: Addison Kroix Stickney departed this world on December 4th, 2023 in Bellingham, Washington.
A memorial service will be held in Duluth Minnesota beginning at 12:00pm (noon) on January 20, 2024 at the Union Gospel Mission 219 E. 1st St.
The Lighthouse Mission memorial service at Base Camp, 1530 Cornwall, Bellingham on Wednesday January 17 at 10am will have a eulogy and photos of Addison as he stayed with them while in Bellingham.
Addison was born in St. Paul on on December 21, 1989 and grew up in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He graduated from Hudson High School and attended college for music production in Minneapolis. He lived in Lake Steven, Washington for a time and loved the Pacific Northwest.
He was nearly 34 years old, the youngest of five with 3 older brothers, NIles Stickney, Trestyn Stickney, and Mason Stickney and his sister, Teagan Warrick. His nephew Niles Jr., nephew and nieces Nerissa, Nadine , and Naomi. His mother and step-father, Kim and Jim Gallagher, of Duluth. His late father, Rodney and step-mother, Kathy.
His sudden departure for the great beyond has left us with an abyss of emptiness in our heart. He is deeply loved and missed.
Although our hearts are unbearably heavy, our grief is lightened by the sharing of countless stories and memories of Addison and his adventures. He loved hip hop and rap, his own “screamo”compositions, and was a fabulously talented guitar player. He had an ongoing love affair with pizza, tattoos, fantasy, Margot Robbie, video games, and living life on the edge.
Often at odds with conventional thought, Addison was irreverent and independent of spirit, both endearing and frustrating in the same moment. He was an expert at deflecting any type of common sense. Never one to give up, he pushed the limits whenever possible. Although he lived dangerously, but was never a threat to anyone but himself. He was eternally optimistic, regardless of reality.
Addison came to Bellingham from Minnesota sometime in November 2023. He was restless in nature, so once he was able to break free from the Midwest he took off to pursue his less hostile environments.
As many may already know, Addison had a problem with drugs. All the while he thought he was using them, in reality, they were using him, robbing him, until they used him up. The drugs stole his money, his possessions, his freedom, his relationships, personality, his mind, and finally his life. They stole not only from him, but from us, the family that love him and wanted him to choose life over drugs.
Addison’s family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to all those in all his travels who helped feed, clothe, shelter, uplift, and befriend him is his final days.
The family is grateful for the kind and generous assistance with his memorial from the staff members of the Union Gospel Mission where he lived and worked, and the staff of The Center for Alcohol and Drug Treatment, where he worked and was loved.

Ann Catherine Love - March 14, 1945 - October 21, 2023

Departed: 10/21/2023 (Bellingham)
Obituary Preview: Ann Catherine Love, 78, of Bellingham, WA passed away peacefully on the evening of October 21, 2023 at Whatcom Hospice, from complications of Alzheimer’s Disease. She had been in the loving care of her husband, Jay Paul, until her final weeks. She was a brilliant and sweet woman and had just reached the milestone of 45 years of happy marriage and partnership with Jay. Throughout her life, even to the end, she unselfishly put everyone else ahead of her.
Ann was born on March 14, 1945 in Glendale, CA to parents Ralph and Frances Love, the eldest of six siblings (Patrick, Sean, Kevin, Oonagh Rachel, and Norah). She was very proud of her Irish-American ancestry. Our mother Fran was born in Belfast and retained her Irish citizenship her entire life, despite living in Southern California. Over the years, Ann and Jay made several trips to Ireland where she enjoyed visiting all our Irish relatives and documenting her ancestry with an extensive genealogy study, while Jay documented the family with his photography. Ann was equally proud of her standing as the “Big Sister” and maintained that loving status for life.
Ann attended Catholic schools throughout her education – St. Genevieve’s Elementary School in Van Nuys, CA, St. Christopher’s School in West Covina, CA, Bishop Amat Memorial High School in La Puente, CA, and Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, CA, where she majored in Philosophy. She was a National Merit Scholar finalist and Latin scholar in high school and a straight-A student at every level of her education. After leaving Santa Clara, she worked in a series of management jobs for various employers, including the engineering and construction firm Bechtel Corporation in San Francisco, and Ralon Products, Inc. in Irvine, CA.
In 1975, Ann became interested in the field of law. She decided to go to law school, and after earning a very high score on the LSAT Exam, she enrolled at Western State University College of Law in Fullerton, CA. The following year, Ann accepted a position as Office Manager and Paralegal in the office of Lynn Paul, Attorney at Law in Bell Gardens, CA. While attending law school and working in the law firm, Ann met Lynn’s son Jay Paul, a handsome Sergeant with the LAPD, and thus began a lifelong loving partnership. They were married on September 2, 1978.
At Western State, Ann was editor of the law school newspaper, received American Jurisprudence awards in Torts and Evidence, and was named to Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities. Ann graduated with B.S. in Law and J.D. Degrees and promptly passed the difficult California Bar Exam in a single try. She then operated Ann Love Attorney at Law, a private general civil law practice that included tax, probate, business, real estate, landlord-tenant, and family law matters. She enjoyed her law practice from 1980-1996.
Ann and Jay then decided to retire and relocate to beautiful Bellingham, WA, a short distance from one of their favorite vacation destinations, Vancouver, BC. Once settled in Bellingham, Jay took a retirement job with the Blaine Police Department and Ann became a licensed residential real estate agent with Windemere Real Estate/Whatcom, Inc. They joined the Bellingham Country Club with a social membership and enjoyed years of playing bridge, making new friends, and attending events. They traveled to Ireland and other destinations and enjoyed Jay’s photography hobby and Ann’s genealogy research.
Ann was predeceased by her parents and her sister Oonagh Rachel. She is survived by her four remaining siblings Patrick, Sean (Sharon), and Kevin (Barbara) Love and Norah (Ricardo) Linares, nieces Katie Love, Molly Thompson, and Franchesca and Ashley Linares, her nephew Michael Love (Becca), great-nephew Victor Love, great-nieces Emily and Josephine Love, and numerous cousins from Ralph’s side of the family in Southern California and Fran’s Irish relatives. A private ceremony has been held. Special thanks to the staff of Whatcom Hospice for their loving end-of-life care. Ann remained happy and pleasant up until the final moments of her life.
