Departed: 03/28/2022 (La Center)
Obituary Preview: Baynard Burl Kendrick, known to everyone as B.B., or Coach Kendrick, passed away Monday, March 28, 2022. He was 79 and 1 day, and his life was an inspiration to anyone that knew him.
B.B. was born in the great state of Texas, where the majority of his family still resides. Although he spent all of his childhood and a large portion of his adult life in Texas, he called LaCenter, KY his home for the past 43 years. Here he and his wife, Kathy, of 58 years, raised their 3 daughters, welcomed 2 son-in-laws and loved on their 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was proud of his home, his community, his church, and his family. All of which he thanked God for and honored God with every day.
B.B was best known in this area as Coach. Over a span of 50 years, he coached tennis, football, golf and baseball. However, his name is most known statewide in the basketball community. Over the years he coached 14 years in Canyon, TX, 10 years at Ballard Memorial, and 7 years at Community Christian Academy. In addition, he led 6 overseas mission trips, coaching college players, using basketball to share the Gospel. It was one of Coach Kendrick’s strongest desires to see that the young men he coached knew how much he loved them, were well equipped with the right values of this life and went on to be adults that carried those values forward. This was more important to B.B. than any title or record.
B.B. officially retired from the counseling/coaching profession in 2008, but continued both jobs at CCA. Up until his death, he remained a founder and head of the board for the All- A Classic. It was a goal of his to see that the small schools of KY were represented well. He also remained an active member of LaCenter First Baptist church where he taught Sunday School—a group of men he called his closest friends; served as deacon for over 40 years and be-friended and supported many of the pastors over the years.
At the end of this great man’s life, he rested and enjoyed time with Kathy, the love of his life, watching his kids and grandkids carry on his legacy to love God and love others. He took great pride in his garden, his apple trees, a good fishing trip and all the many blessings God bestowed on him and his family. Until the day he was taken from this earth, B.B. Kendrick gave God all glory for the wonderful life he had and the people he met along the way.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy and daughters: Debbie (Russ Buchanan), Deena, and April (John Dunning); grandchildren: Chase Buchanan (Bailey), Jeremy Kendrick, Allison Kendrick, Thad Buchanan (Paige), Kendrick Dunning, Kambell Dunning; great-grandchild: Beau Buchanan. His siblings: Carolyn (Mike Caplinger), Dan Kendrick (Kate), Bryan Kendrick (Peggy) and Joyce (Jim Gray).
Visitation will be held at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY, Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 5-8 pm.
Funeral Service will be held at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY, Friday, April 1, 2022 beginning at 12 pm with Rev. Jason Hay and Rev. Mark Bond officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Paducah, KY.

Jerry Dale "Chipper" Kinsey - August 18, 1946 - March 08, 2022

Departed: 03/08/2022 (La Center)
Obituary Preview: Jerry Dale (Chipper) Kinsey, 75, of Bandana, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Life Care Center of La Center.
Chipper liked to brag he had lived almost his entire life on the same farm just outside of Bandana. He was the only child of the late Lube Kinsey and Jessie Kinsey Kuykendall and the stepson of the late Woodrow Kuykendall.
At age 21, he met Peggy Travis at the Dairy Queen in Paducah and the two were married almost 54 years ago. In Peggy, he found someone who shared his love of faith and family, and he inherited a large extended family. She was his selfless and dedicated caretaker the last few months of his life.
Besides Peggy, he is survived by three children: Lori Ann (Eric) Oldham of Barlow; Angie (Dutchie) Timmons of Paducah, and Chip (Megan) Kinsey of Bandana. Four grandchildren: Jarret (Lexie) Oldham of Louisville; Jenna Oldham of Barlow and Jack and Andrew Kinsey of Bandana; two step-grandchildren: Lindsay (Steven) Niedbalski of Nashville, Ill., and Amanda (Chad) Bealmear of Hopkinsville; and four step-greatgrandchildren.
As a father, Chipper was invested in his children’s lives, attending every school and sports event he could, and often calling them up for no reason at all. His grandchildren brought him great joy, and we could argue that Papa was his favorite title of all.
Although he had no siblings, Chipper was blessed with a close relationship with his aunts, uncles and many cousins. He valued his friends and neighbors; many he had known most of his life.
For 50 years, he worked as a wholesale grocery salesman, visiting mom and pop grocery stores all over the region, and later chain grocery stores and gas stations. On weekends, he worked as a licensed auctioneer, with his family as his crew working estate auctions, mostly in Ballard and McCracken counties. On his farm, he enjoyed bailing straw and hay while riding his beloved Oliver tractors.
Chipper loved spending time with his church family at Providence Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday School superintendent for many years. His deep voice was perfect for singing the bass part of the church hymns he loved.
In his weakest moments, he still could belt out a hymn and thank the Lord for his blessings, and, for that we are grateful. We also are thankful for the care he received from the Life Care of La Center staff.
Funeral services begin at 1 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2022, at Morrow Funeral Chapel in La Center with Bro. Neil Eidson and Bro. Guy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, 4409 Monkey’s Eyebrow Rd., Kevil KY.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2022, at Morrow Funeral Chapel.
Expression of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Providence Baptist Church, c/o Stephanie Cooper, 908 Smokey Rd., La Center KY 42056.

Departed: 02/12/2022 (La Center)
Obituary Preview: Kimberly Lynn Engle, 54 passed away on Saturday February 12, 2022 at her home in Wickliffe, KY. Kim was born August 4th, 1966, she graduated from Ballard Memorial High School in 1984. After graduation Kim’s free spirit took her to live in Kentucky, Alabama, Missouri, Colorado & Tennessee. During her time in Colorado, she earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting from the College of America in Colorado Springs. Kim’s deep soul, artistic mind & life experiences gave her the ability of putting pen to paper and creating the most unique & beautiful poems. In 2006 Kim became a published poet. Her book of poetry was published and for sale in paperback for many years online. After her publication she continued writing and was featured many times as a finalist in several international poetry contest. Another way Kim put pen to paper was coloring. She loved to color! Her collection of gel pens and coloring books with completed fully colored pages is nothing short of impressive. If the dictionary had pictures Kim’s photo would be right next to the definition of cool. She was one cool chick. She had the most charismatic personality that made everyone she met love her. She was always ready to have a good time and was the life of the party. She spent a lot of her days decked out in her do- rag and sunglasses on the back of a motorcycle, going to rock concerts, watching football (Go Titans) and hosting backyard gatherings for her friends and family. Kim also went by another name. One that she cherished most. To her precious grandkids she was YAYA because in her exact words “she was way to cool to be called grandmother” being a YAYA was something she was so incredibly proud of. She didn’t have a conversation with anyone that she didn’t brag on or show pictures of her grandbabies.
