Obituary Preview: Charles Lee Casey, age 70, of Miller, Missouri, was born September 25, 1953, the son of Johnnie Ross and Emma Charlene (Lester) Casey at their home at Gray’s Point, Missouri. Charles passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at his home in Miller, Missouri.
Charles attended grade school at Miller West Elementary and high school at Miller High School where he graduated from in 1972. Charles spent most of his life doing auto body work and was a mechanic. He had a very soft spot for his dogs, and he loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with family.
On June 6, 1987, he married Elaine Banner, in Golden City, Missouri.
Charles is survived by his wife of 38 years, Elaine; two children, Alisha (Junior) Moenning of Lockwood, Missouri and Jade Casey of Joplin, Missouri; one sister, Joyce (Bruce) Williams of Miller, Missouri; two brothers, John Wayne (Crystal) Casey of Golden City, Missouri and Johnnie Ross Casey, Jr. of South Carolina; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Richard (Erin) Munson of Golden City, Missouri; sister-in-law, Charlene (Chris) Foreman of Chesterfield, Virgina and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Jane, Kay, Fay, and brother-in-law, Skeeter.
Charles will always be remembered as a good husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Also, as one of the biggest jokers and story tellers. Oh, we cannot forget his stubbornness, lol.
A visitation will be held from 5:00-6:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller, with a memorial service to follow at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 29, 2024, at Gray’s Point Cemetery.

AJ graduated with an associate degree from Electronics Institute in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a Commercial Lighting Technician with Reliable Relamping in Saranac, Michigan. He was a beloved husband and father and loved to work on old cars.
On June 29, 2002, he married Tammy Marie Lawson, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
AJ is survived by his wife of 21 years, Tammy; one son, Alva John Robbins II, of Springfield, Missouri; one brother, Lee Robbins and his wife, Gina, and one sister, Esther Zeman and her husband, Andy, all of Joplin, Missouri.
AJ was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alice and one sister, Ruth Ann Robbins.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home, in Miller, Missouri.

Obituary Preview: Willard Vernon Lewis passed away February 14, 2024, at 87 years old. Vernon “Dink” Lewis was born May 19, 1936, in Chester, Georgia. Vernon a kind, welcoming, and humorous man, loved God. He enjoyed singing at church, and at home. He also loved entertaining others with his karaoke system. Vernon loved his family more than anything and would do everything to help any of them out. He also enjoyed gardening, landscaping and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lawana Jean, of 49 years, both of his parents, and his 4 siblings.
Vernon is survived by his sons, Rodney, Randy, and Daryl. Grandchildren, Sara and Shawn (their mother Jane), Trisha and Melanie (their mother Rachel), Jennifer, Jessica and Joshua (their mother Kathy), Josephina and Mitchell (their mother Valarie), 25 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many others who loved him greatly.
A celebration of life will be held in his honor at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Junior Service League Clubhouse located at 3122 S. Crysler Ave, Independence, Missouri, 64055. Parking is limited so please try to share rides/carpool, thank you.

Jacob was a 1955 graduate of Miller High School and attended Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was an aircraft mechanic for TWA Airlines.
On May 6, 1961, he married Barbara Lee Melton, in Eldon, Missouri. She preceded him in death on December 13, 2004.
Jacob is survived by two daughters, Angie Tartar and Jayelee Tartar and her husband, Shane; one brother, Ronnie Tartar and his wife, Mary; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Jacob was preceded in death by his biological parents, Myrtie and Edward McKelvey; his adopted parents, Margaret and Rex Tartar; his wife, Barbara; daughter, Andrea Tartar; ten brothers and sisters, Joe McKelvey, Mary Lou Klenklen (McKelvey) and husband, Vern, Roxie Johnson (Tartar) and husband, Ronnie, Nixie Buffington, Guy LaVerne Tartar and wife, Grace, Wilbur Richardson, Carl Richardson, Paul Richardson and wife, Ruby Mae, James Richardson and Johnny McKelvey.

She was born May 12, 1949, in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Orville and Geraldine (Byank) Hite, Jr.
Becky was a 1967 graduate of Canal Winchester High School in Canal Winchester, Ohio. Becky and her first husband Bob Dorssey owned a construction company where she worked as a bookkeeper. She volunteered at the Miller Christian Center Thrift Store and was a member of the Highland Chapel Free Methodist Church in Miller, Missouri.
On August 20, 2010, she married George Richard Harper in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Becky is survived by her husband, George Harper; six children, Kim (Mark) Warne, Bobby Dorssey, Kris (Justin) Evers, Rick (Minde) Harper, Jeff (Cathy)Watts and David Dorssey; four grandchildren, Mike Hall, Sarah Deckert, Monica (Scott) Ehmann and Landon (Colby) Dorssey; two great-grandchildren, Parker Ehmann and Beckett Dorssey and three sisters, Elizabeth (James) Marshall, Sue (Mike) Bowser and Mary Saunders.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Orville, and Geraldine; one daughter, Renee Dorssey and her first husband, Bob Dorssey.
A celebration of Becky’s life will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home, in Miller, Missouri.

Harold was a United States Navy veteran during the Korean War and worked in quality control for the Silgan Can Factory in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
Harold is survived by two daughters, Cindy Woodbury and her husband, Russ, of Aurora, Missouri and Nancy Phillips and her husband, Lance, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; two sons, Jack Brown and John Brown, both of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; five grandchildren; two brothers, Troy Brown of Virginia and Carl Brown of Colorado; previous step-daughter and step-grandchildren he loved as his own and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer, and Mattie; eight brothers, Wayne, Cecil, Fred, Floyd, Raymond, Bob, Bill, and Jim Brown; three sisters, Nova Little, Lucille Huffman and Martha Brooks and one grandson, Kyle Brown.

Karen was a 1960 graduate of Huron High School in Huron, South Dakota. She was a manager at Don’s Crossroads on Hwy 96 north of Miller, Missouri. She was a member of the Ozark Prairie Presbyterian Church.
On May 19, 1962, she married Royal Axel Hoyer, in Huron, South Dakota. He preceded her in death on July 20, 2012.
Karen is survived by her son, James Hoyer and his wife, BJ, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; five grandchildren, Ashley DeVita and her husband, Scotty, of Florissant, Missouri, KyL Hoyer and his wife, Tyler, of Halltown, Missouri, Christian Hoyer and his wife, Madison, of Springfield, Missouri, Chelsea Hoyer of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Montana Chitwood and her partner, Brandon Posey of Sikeston, Missouri; seven great-grandchildren and one brother, Dennis Hawks, of Sioux City, South Dakota.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon, and Hazel; one son, Michael Hoyer and two brothers, Alan, and Howard Hawks.

Jimmy Rex Letterman - February 17, 1938 - August 21, 2023

Obituary Preview: Jimmy Rex Letterman, of Greenfield, Missouri, passed away at 8:36 a.m. on Monday, August 21, 2023, at his home. He was born February 17, 1938, in Niangua, Missouri, the son of Doyle and Roxie (Dudley) Letterman.
Jimmy was one of six kids with one sibling still living. His Family moved to Montpelier, Indiana, when he was a teenager. He worked a variety of jobs, farming, lime quarry, canning factory, and while in Indiana he met his wife, Nila and they were married on October 17, 1959, in Montpelier, Indiana. They moved back to Missouri after the birth of their second child.
Jimmy was a concrete worker for many years. He enjoyed going to auctions, garage sales, fishing, playing rook, hunting, and gardening, especially growing tomatoes. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was blessed with nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nila; four daughters, Teresa (Johnny) Hicks, of Miller, Missouri, Terri (Lynn) Underwood of Marshfield, Missouri, Tina (David) Rose of Miller, Missouri, and Tammy (William) Brooks of Lockwood, Missouri; one son, Jamie (Sherry) Letterman of Springfield, Missouri; one sister, Betty Fear of Ozark, Missouri and several nieces and nephews. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle, and Roxie; daughter, Kathy Letterman; two grandsons, Kirk Rose, and Nicolas Weathers; one great-grandson, Brian Hicks; two sisters, Anna Lee Price, and Viola Crisamore and two brothers, Dean and L.D. Letterman

Clorena was employed as a housekeeper for the Missouri Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Rockaway Beach, Missouri and of the Christian faith.
Clorena married Eugene Whittenburg, and he preceded her in death on April 29, 1985. She married Floyd Clifford Nagel, and he preceded her in death on May 10, 1995.
Clorena is survived by her son, Eugene Whittenburg and Mary Ryffel of Rockaway Beach, Missouri; one daughter, Vickie Masters of Freistatt, Missouri; one sister, Faye Brown, of Willard, Missouri; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Clorena was preceded in death by her parents, Leo, and Anna; one brother, Dean Elkins; an infant brother and sister and one grandson.
A graveside service under the direction of the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at the Misemer Cemetery, east of Miller, Missouri.

Janice Elaine Holstine - August 24, 1949 - April 05, 2023

Obituary Preview: Janice Elaine Faucett-Holstine, age 73, of Kansas City, Missouri, was surrounded by loved ones when she received her wings and went to be with Jesus on April 5, 2023. We find peace knowing she no longer struggles and is now reunited with her loved ones that welcomed her into Heaven's Gates.
Janice was born August 24, 1949, in Miller, Missouri, to Kenneth and Norma Lee (Rhodes) Faucett. Widowed in 1964, Norma married Homer C. Stockton. After graduating from Miller High School with the class of 1967, Janice attended Draughon’s School of Business. She moved to Kansas City, Missouri, in February 1969 for employment. She began her career in the grocery industry at Milgram's and retired in 2015 from Associated Wholesale Grocers. Other employers throughout her career include Wetterau, Fleming Foods and Argus Health Systems. Although Miller was always "home", despite having lived out of town for many years, she gained a host of neighbors, friends and colleagues in Kansas City that were like family to her.
Janice is survived by her daughter, Denise (Scott) Williams; granddaughter, Samantha (Gus) Hendren; great-granddaughter, Skylar; one brother, Eddie (Judy) Faucett; two sisters, Karen (Jimmy) Smith and Teresa Stockton-Cruise. Only having one daughter, "Aunt Jannie" adored her nieces, Renee (Ray) Groshong, Jami Smith-Boggs, Allison Faucett, Kayla Faucett and nephews Keith (Mandy) Faucett, Jason (Kristi) Smith, Austin (Sherly) Cruise, and Dillon Cruise; great-nieces, Madison (Austin) McCanless, Kayleigh Faucett, Bailee Boggs, Sawyer Smith and great-nephews, Garrett (Teagan) Hadlock, Hank Faucett, Kai Faucett, Truman Smith, Fletcher Smith, and five great-great nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her companion and care provider since 2020, James Taylor.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Norma Lee; step-father, Homer Stockton; one brother, Larry Faucett and niece, Nicole Cruise.
Janice's quick beautiful smile, infectious laugh, generous heart and forgiving nature will be sorely missed by all that had the honor to know and love her.
A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller, Missouri, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Pennsboro Cemetery north of Miller.
A celebration of Janice’s life will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2023, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Elks Lodge #2509, 100 NE Brizendine Rd., Blue Springs, Missouri, (lower level/south entrance).

Steven was a 1970 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School, in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and worked in housekeeping at the Missouri Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Vernon. He was a member of the Miller First Baptist Church.
Steven is survived by his sister, Sheila Hinshaw and her husband, Kenneth, of Miller; his sister-in-law, Pat Perriman, of Cassville, Missouri; six nieces and nephews, Brent, Chad, Kimberly, Tiffany, Chelsea and Tyler, and several great nieces and nephews.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Charline and his brother, Harold Perriman.
A celebration of life, under the direction of the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home, in Miller, will be held from 10:00–12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Miller. Burial will be held at a later date at Summit Cemetery northeast of Mt. Vernon.

Ernie was a 1948 graduate of Hanford High School in Hanford, California. He was a cattle rancher and a minister. Ernie and his wife, Jean, trained and showed horses and were very active members of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witnesses in Miller, Missouri.
On August 4, 1952, he married Jean Diane Ferdig, in Bakersfield, California. She preceded him in death on January 29, 2015.
Ernie is survived by his daughter, Shelly Driscall of Las Vegas, Nevada; one brother, Robert Burton of Redmond, Oregon; seven sisters, Jan Lawson of Bakersfield, California, Christa Hardin of Hanford, California, Angelina Kelly of Victorville, California, Jenavra Williamson, of Roseville, California, Natalie Adorni, of Townsend, Georgia, Marilyn Ray, of O’Fallon, Missouri and Barbara Palumbo, of Hartford, California; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, Camilla and Marion; his wife, Jean; his daughter, Holly Lawson and three brothers, Charles Hammond, Tony Burton and Ralph Palumbo. My brother Ernest Gabriel Lawson. My whole family was separated early in life. Ernie went on to become one of the very best people you could encounter in life. Always willing to help or assist anyone who might need it. I am very proud to say he was my brother. I hope he is reunited with his wonderful wife Jean. Doris is survived by two daughters, Mary Lou Lamance and her husband, Buck, of Boyd, Texas and Vickie Pettit of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; three sons, Robert McElroy of Springfield, Missouri, Roger McElroy and his wife, Cheryl, of Long Lane, Missouri and Raymond McElroy of Springfield, Missouri; two sisters, Frankie Schoo and her husband, Gary, of Antioch, California and Patsy Wilson, of Traskwood, Arkansas; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

She was born August 24, 1930, in Lockwood, Missouri, the daughter of Frank Rolla and Neata May (Gulick) Pyle.
On September 20, 1947, she married William Eugene Glidewell in Carthage, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 13, 2016.
Lorene was a 1948 graduate of Miller High School and after Bill returned home from the service they moved to California. Lorene and Bill moved back to Missouri where they owned and operated the Glidewell Hardware and Lumber Store in Miller. Lorene and Bill retired from the hardware business on the family farm. Lorene and Bill moved to Springfield, Missouri, to enjoy the rest of their retirement together and being able to spend time with their children and grandchildren. She gave her life to God at a early age.
Lorene is survived by her son, William Glidewell and his wife, Teri; one daughter, Diane Mitchell; three grandchildren, Abby Lancaster and her husband, Steven, Elloren Davidson and her husband, Andrew and Kalee Mitchell and her fiancé, Cody Fulfer; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin Lancaster and Leah Grace Lancaster; two sisters, Erma Thomas and Loretta Thomas; three sisters-in-law, Frankie Pyle, Lela Pyle and Tana Pyle and several nieces and nephews.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Neata; husband Bill; four sisters, Fern Wright, Margaret Uber, Eula Thomas, and Ruth Platt and five brothers, Earl, Harley, Paul, Ancil, and Howard Pyle.

Rosemary attended grade school at Tiede School and St. Joseph Catholic School and was a 1948 graduate of Billings High School.
She attended Southwest Missouri State and received a teaching certificate in 1950. She continued to take college courses for her undergraduate teaching degree. Her first teaching position was at Pleasant View School, Springfield, Missouri, where she taught grade school from 1950 to 1958.
On August 2, 1958, she married Burton Hutter in Fair Grove, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1989.
Rosemary and Burton settled on their farm in the Phelps community in 1958. Rosemary taught 3rd and 4th grades at Miller from 1958 to 1962. During this time, they welcomed their three children into their lives, Jeanne, Ray Dean, and James. Rosemary was truly a farm woman in that she was involved in the daily life of the farm operation until her death. She was a member of the Goss Cemetery Association and was an election poll worker for many years. She was a substitute teacher in later years for several of the local school districts.
Rosemary is survived by her daughter, Jeanne, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two sons, Ray Dean, LaRussell, Missouri, and Jim (Leslie) Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren, Tate, Hayes, Gibbs and Tess Hutter; her brother John V. Schatz, Billings, Missouri, and three nieces and one nephew.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Vival; her husband, Burton, and one brother Bill Schatz.
A visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 31, 2022, at the Goss Cemetery.

Norma was a graduate of Lockwood High School in Lockwood, Missouri and shortly after graduating, she began teaching school in rural schools in Dade County for a couple of terms. After the second term, the school board asked her to take a few college hours, which would look good on her contract. She enrolled at Bolivar, at Southwest Baptist College.
On March 12, 1946, she married Merritt Lee Moots, in Springfield, Missouri. They resided in the Round Grove Community all their married life. Merritt Lee preceded her in death on July 13, 1987. Norma was a wonderful wife and help to her husband. She was also a wonderful mother to her two boys, Terry and Dan and to her daughter, Christine. Later in her life she worked as a clerk for the Ben Franklin Store in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. In her spare time, she loved reading, quilting, sewing, crocheting, knitting and a variety of other projects. She loved writing poetry, playing the piano, including playing for weddings and funerals. She loved listening to Southern Gospel Music. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Fan and listened faithfully to the games no matter how late the game was on. She enjoyed seeing her grandkids play sports and was their best cheerleader. She was an important part of the Round Grove Community and was even given the title of Mayor of Round Grove. She attended Round Grove Baptist Church until her health began to fail. She loved spending time with her family and friends, catching up on all the happenings and news.
Norma is survived by two sons, Terry Moots and his wife, Shirley, of Springfield, Missouri and Daniel Moots of Miller, Missouri; son-in-law, Danny Decker of Flemington, Missouri; three sisters-in-law, Mary Kahre of Lockwood, Missouri, Shirley Moots of Springfield, Missouri and Barbara Kahre of Charleston, West Virginia; ten grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Henry, and Alma; her husband, Merritt; her daughter, Christine Decker; one sister, Wanda Leeper; three brothers, Edward, Gene, and Raymond Kahre, and daughter-in-law, Lori Moots.
