Naomi Faye Pollock - August 11, 1934 - May 19, 2018

Departed: 05/19/2018 (Fridley)
Obituary Preview: Naomi Faye Pollock, age 83, of Staples passed away peacefully at home on May 19, 2018 surrounded by her family. Paraphrased from Naomi’s own writing:
Naomi Faye was born on August 11, 1934 to Donald and Anice Lilly on her grandparents’ farm by Staples. They lived in a little house her dad had built on the property for them. She loved to remember how much fun it was to run back and forth between the houses playing with her uncles and going skiing and sledding.
She moved a lot from 4th to 8th grade before settling down in Pine River to her graduation in 1952. She road twenty seven miles on dirt washboard roads and worked at the Silbaugha clothing store from senior year the summer after graduation. Naomi met Bud during her senior year while he was home from the Army. She worked at Sears in Minneapolis during their two year long distance romance before moving back to Pine River to be married in June 1954.
They bought a home in Fridley and lived there from 1960-2006. Son Allen was born in 1955 and Tim followed in 1958. Over the years Naomi did daycare before working at the Holiday store for 28 years .
Naomi was a member of Fridley Covenant Church for many years. She enjoyed teaching Bible school, Sunday school, and other activities. Over the years her and Bud did some traveling, but she always missed coming home to her family. Later they took trips to visit their growing family such as Allen in California and again in Hawaii this time including Tim with his family.
Naomi was blessed to survive open heart surgery in June 2005, but then later Tim passed away in October that same year. She and Bud moved from their home of forty-six years to purchase his house in St Francis so his children could grow up knowing their home. They liked the more country living, but she always missed her Fridley home. They continued to travel via road trips including Tennessee and South Carolina to visit family.
She was very thankful for her parents and grandparents with who she was very close with as well as her brothers, their families, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Naomi was grateful for a wonderful husband and two sons. She had many friends from church, school, work, and neighbors who she loved keeping in touch with over the years. She was especially thankful for her second family she found within Fridley Covenant and the pastors she met in her time there.
She is preceded in death by her son, Timothy. Naomi leaves behind her loving husband, Bud; son, Allen (Robyn); grandkids, Bryan, Marisa, Michael, Ethan; siblings, Gene (Dolly) and George (Linda); and nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Fridley Covenant Church, 6390 University Avenue Northeast, Fridley; on Saturday, June 02, 2018 at 11:00AM with a visitation one hour prior.
