Obituary Preview: Longtime resident of rural Newkirk, Ronald (Ron) Scott, 82, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother was called to his eternal resting place on April 15, 2022. He entered this world on January 30, 1940, in Arkansas City, KS, born to Lloyd Charles Scott and Dorothy Nadine (Barnes) Scott.
Ron grew up in Kay County and graduated from Newkirk High School in 1958. While in high school, he enjoyed being a part of FFA. He continued his education at Cowley Community College and graduated with an Associate’s Degree. He met the love of his life, Vivian R. Stebens, and they were married July 21, 1961, in Newkirk, OK. They made their home in Ponca City, OK until they moved to Newkirk, OK a short time later. Ron worked for different companies over the years, but his passion was farming and raising cattle which he did most of his life. He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, and working outside on his farm. Ron was a past member of NFO and the Ponca City Moose Lodge.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Vivian, of 60 years, three children: Troy Scott, Leah McCombs and husband Eric, Rhonda Stephens, and husband Kevin all of Newkirk, OK, three grandchildren: Laci Jo Bemo and husband Cody, Tyler McCombs and wife Danielle both of Newkirk, OK, Lacey Allen and husband Christian of Tulsa, OK, and one great granddaughter Layla Drager. Also surviving are one brother, Clinton Scott, and wife Carol of Newkirk, OK and one sister, Sharon Giger of Geuda Springs, KS and numerous nieces, nephews, and the Blue Haven family.

Joyce Jane Psikal - August 12, 1946 - March 06, 2022

Obituary Preview: Joyce Jane (Graham) Psikal, 75, born August 12, 1946, in Stillwater, OK to Ralph James Graham and Mary Louise (Flesner) Graham, passed away March 6, 2022, in Andover, KS.
Joyce attended schools in Perry, Redrock, and Hunter, then graduated from high school in Marshall Oklahoma and then attended Enid Business College.   She worked many jobs in her life, but her favorite was the 34 years she worked at Conoco.  She also worked for the Kaw Nation Gaming Commission for several years.
Joyce was a friendly outgoing person who had many friends and acquaintances. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Newkirk, Oklahoma where she loved to volunteer and seemed to know everyone.  She never met a stranger and made friends wherever she went.  Joyce volunteered for many fundraising activities and events at Conoco, and for Hospice, like golf tournaments and bowling tournaments. She was a member of the Red Hat Club in Ponca City and really enjoyed the comradery.  Her smile, warm hugs, and the joy she brought to all will be deeply missed.
Joyce is survived by her brother James Graham and wife Darlene, Her sisters Beverly Wright and Linda Thompson and sister-in-law Paula Graham; her children Jeff and Reda Psikal, Susan Psikal Sawyer and husband Jim, and Melissa Perez-Vargas.  Also left to cherish their memories of her are eight grandchildren: Daniel Koelsch (Shelsey), Andrea Sawyer, Gabby Pemberton (Josh), Angela Sawyer (Alan Lo), Ryan Deel(Leslie), Laura Greenwell(Sebastian Galendo), Javier Perez-Vargas, and Julian Perez- Vargas ;  and nine great-grandchildren(three more due in August), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and an unmeasurable number of  friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Steven Graham, brothers-in-laws Larry Thompson and Dewey Wright.
Services under the direction of Miller Stahl Funeral Home will be held on Friday March 11, 2022, at the United Methodist Church in Newkirk at 2 p.m. with Pastor Hartlan Coats officiating. Online registry is available at www.millerstahl.com

Karol Lee Kekahbah - December 14, 1961 - February 21, 2022

Obituary Preview: Karol Lee Kehahbah, “Little Pants”, Kaw Tribal member and longtime Newkirk resident, passed away Monday February 21, 2022. He was 60 years old.
Karol was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Carolyn Sue (Goddard) and Robert Kekahbah on December 14, 1961. He grew up and attended school in Shidler, Oklahoma, graduating in 1980. Karol then attended nursing school in Wichita, Kansas and worked in the medical field in Winfield, Kansas among other places for several years.
He was very proud of his Native heritage and loved dancing in powwows and making meat pies and fry bread to sell there. Beadwork was also a favorite hobby of his. His most treasured past time though was spending time with his family, especially his son, Micah Zane, who was his most treasured one to spend his time with.
He is survived by his son, Micah Zane Kekahbah, his mother Carolyn Sue Ewing, brothers Joe Goddard, Pete Ewing, Micheal Ewing, Bobby Kekahbah, Warren Kekahbah. His sisters Michelle Brandt, Jennifer Willard, Erin Kekahbah, Mary Kekahbah. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great, great nieces and nephews.
Karol was preceded in death by his father Bob Kekahbah, brothers Owen Ewing, Tony (Kekahbah) Tabor, Joe Don Kekahbah, stepfather Leonard Ewing; his maternal grandparents C.L. and Stella Goddard and paternal grandparents Bill and Vera Kekahbah.
Karol will be truly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. God rest his soul.
Viewing will be held at the J.R. McCauley Gymnasium in Newkirk, Oklahoma on Friday, February 25, starting at 3 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 26th, at 2 p.m., at the JR McCauley Gymnasium with Pastor Mark Southard officiating. Burial will follow immediately after at the Washunga Cemetery in Newkirk. Casket bearers will be Glenn Goddard, Justin Weunt, Chandler Stewart, Liam Goddard, Derrick Fagg, Russell Sepeda, Preston Backus, and Easton Wright. Obituary Preview: Jacob (Jake) Randol was born to Anthony and Cynthia Randol, in Arkansas City, Kansas, on February 21, 1992. Jake was a beloved son, brother, and uncle. On January 28, 2022 he was called to his eternal resting place at the age of 29.
Jake was blessed with a large loving family, he grew up in Newkirk, Oklahoma and later moved to Arkansas City, Kansas. Jake was a country boy at heart! Jake loved big, was always willing to lend a hand, and was a friend to all that he met. Jake was an active student at Newkirk High School where he participated in FFA, SteppUp, and Special Olympics. Jake attended Pioneer Technology Center in Ponca City where he was enrolled in Fleet and Facilities. During his time at PTC he competed in SkillsUSA competitions and learned skills to help him throughout his life. Jake worked at Wal-Mart in Ark City, where he had a servant's heart and helped so many. Jake's favorite pastime was listening to music, while working on his truck. Family was very important to Jake; he would often be found fishing with his mom and dad on the lake, spending time playing with his nieces and nephews, and hanging out with his brothers and uncle. Jake lived with his uncle Neal who was probably one of his favorite people in the world. Jake's laughter filled anyroom that he occupied.
A Celebration of Jake’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the Stagecoach Event Center, located at 400 W. South Ave, Newkirk, Oklahoma. The service will be led by Pastor Ryan Whitley of Northside Baptist Church in Arkansas City, Kansas. Contributions may be made at Equity Bank in Newkirk in Jake's honor, all proceeds will go to support children with special needs in Newkirk.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his parents: Anthony and Cynthia Randol of Kaw City, Ok; brother Luke and wife Rachel Randol; brother Nick and wife Kayla Randol; brother Warren (DJ) and wife Jamie Dowler; nieces Angel, Chloe, and Hadley Randol, LeAnne and Jenna Dowler; nephews Cash, Tobias Randol, Cooper Randol; Wyatt Dowler; and Uncle Neal Trenary, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He is preceded in death by his Paternal grandparents Merle and Avis Randol; Maternal grandparents John and Linda Trenary. Kenneth I Vickery - September 01, 1924 - January 28, 2022

Obituary Preview: Kenneth Ivan Vickery of Newkirk passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, January 28, 2022.  He was 97. Born to Firman and Gertrude (MAY) VICKERY in Newkirk Oklahoma on September 1, 1924.  Kenneth was third of five children. He graduated from Newkirk High School in 1944. He was inducted into the Army in September of that same year.  He was a World War II Veteran seeing combat duty in Germany under General Patton. On February 5, 1945 he married Ida Mae MATNEY and had four children. He farmed in the local area for several years before working at the Maurer-Neuer meat packing plant in Arkansas City, Kansas for 30 years.  Ida Mae died of cancer in October of 1984.  On February 5, 1986 he married Dorothy SUMNER and they were married until her death on June 21, 2015.  After retirement, he returned to Newkirk. Kenneth most enjoyed fishing and baseball. Survivors include his brother Ralph VICKERY, sons Kenneth Dwayne (Claudia) VICKERY of Wichita, Kansas; Daryl (Carol) VICKERY of Newkirk; daughter Debbie (Bob) UNRUH of Orlando, Florida and step daughter/caretaker Catherine RIX of Newkirk. He also has 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives Ida Mae and Dorothy, brother Marvin VICKERY, sisters Dorris ENGLEKING and Lyda SHERWOOD, and daughter Denise RICHARDSON. Obituary Preview: Karla Kiser Greer (57) of Eufaula, OK passed away peacefully on January 21, 2022, surrounded by her family, and loved ones. She was born January 2, 1965, in Wichita, KS to David and Junice Kiser.
Graveside services will be held 11 am Thursday, January 27, 2022, in the Newkirk City Cemetery with Curtis Johnstone officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday January 26, 2022, from 1-7 PM and Thursday January 27, 2022, from 9-10:30 AM at Miller-Stahl Funeral Home 128 South Main Newkirk, OK.
Karla met John Greer and on October 15, 2005, they were married. Karla was employed by Boeing with 20 years of service and retired in 2009. She enjoyed spoiling her grandkids and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed going to the casino and quilting. After they both retired, they moved to Eufaula, OK to enjoy their retirement together.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons: David Preston (Magan) and James Preston, stepchildren; Samantha Callahan (David) and Josh Greer (Toni). Grandchildren: Jace, Kristi, David, Paisley, Olivia, Hayden, Riley, Payton, Rayne, Skye, Chase, her sister; Cece Kiser of Chouteau, OK., nephews Alan (Jackie) and Tanner (Paige). Niece Dani (Nate), many cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends.

Obituary Preview: Donald (Don) J. Crawford of Ponca City passed away Monday, December 27, 2021 at Alliance Health Center in Ponca City. He was 90. Born to Jesse & Cassie (Bowker) Crawford in Phillipsburg, Kansas on July 8, 1931. Don was fourth of five children. He went to school in Phillipsburg, graduating with the class of 1949 at the age of 17. He attended Fort Hays Kansas State Teachers College and then Arkansas City Junior College graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Education. He taught one year in a one room school house teaching grades 1-6 in Maple City,Kansas. He moved to Ponca City in 1952. He went to work for Lucky's TV for 8 1/2 years before opening his own television repair shop called Don's TV in 1962. He was in business for 14 years before going to work for Smith International in 1976 as a maintenance mechanic. He traveled to Venezuela during his time with Smith's training people on machines. He retired from Smith's in 1993. May 6, 1951 he married Velma Spurgeon and they made their home in Ponca City. On January 21, 1952 they welcomed a daughter Donna Jo making them a family of three. Velma passed away from cancer in July 1990. On June 8, 1991 he married Vickie Bailey and they were married until her death in November 2018. Don enjoyed doing many things but his most favorite thing was flying his Cessna 177 Cardinal airplane. He earned his pilots license in 1972. He owned several airplanes and even built one with his grandson Kyle. Survivors include his daughter Donna White, grandsons Kyle(Calvia) Albee and Cameron(Misti) Albee all of Newkirk. Step daughter Kym Vap, step sons Monty Eckler and Shane Bailey all of Ponca City. Step granddaughters Amy Arbona, Sasha Steelemon, Lindsey Hobbs, LeighAnn Giles and Monica Pratt all of Ponca City. Step grandsons Garrett Bailey of Ponca City and Tanner Eckler of Owasso. 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents, his wives Velma and Vickie, brothers Jesse and Harold and sisters Opal and Esther and step son in law Tony Vap. Graveside services will be Monday January 3, 2022 at Newkirk Cemetery. Arrangements are with Miller Stahl Funeral Home/Grace Memorial Chapel.

Obituary Preview: Leonard Ewing, 79, beloved husband and grandfather, was called to his eternal resting place on December 16, 2021. He entered this world on April 17, 1942, born to Jacob and Gladys Ewing.
Leonard met the love of his life, Carolyn, and they were married on December 11, 1964 in Ponca City, OK. He was a truck driver for many years and he and Carolyn loved to travel and sight see whenever they could. He also worked in the oilfields in Libya for a short time.
Leonard is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn, of the home. His sons, Pete Ewing of Ponca City, Michael Ewing of Ponca City, Joe Goddard of Newkirk, and Karol Kekahbah of Newkirk. Daughter Michelle Brandt of Newkirk. One sister, Shirley Alberty of Shidler, OK and one brother, Jake Ewing, of Ponca City, OK. As well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Gladys, and one son, Owen Ewing.
Viewing will be held at Miller-Stahl Funeral Home in Newkirk, OK on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Newkirk, OK with Pastor Mark Southard officiating. Burial will be followed after at the Newkirk City Cemetery.

Obituary Preview: Donnye Colclasure, 71, of Newkirk, OK, passed away on November 8, 2021. She was born on November 20, 1949, in McAlester, OK to Andrew and Alice Chancellor. A graduate of Central High School in OKC, Donnye moved to Ark City in the early 70's with her sons, Jimmy, and Mikey Enriquez, and worked several jobs to make ends meet. After settling in, she met her husband of 46 years, Charles (Quid) Colclasure of Newkirk, OK, and both were in the aircraft industry of General Electric. After the couple married in 1981, they had two daughters, Cary McClure of Burbank, OK and Kinsey Colclasure of Derby, KS. Donnye worked as a mechanic for 25 years and retired from the field in 2009. After retirement, she was excited to never have to set an alarm clock again and focus more on the simple things in life-- board games, books, Sudoku's, grabbing a drink with her friends, being outside, and working on the next house project on the farm. She enjoyed getting to watch her grandchild, Peyton McClure, grow up and come visit. Donnye lived simplistically and the way she wanted with her husband and didn't ask much from people. She had a wonderful laugh and a strong work ethic that provided great memories for her friends and family. Her wit and kind heart will be missed by many.
The service will be held at Carol & Kay Sheild Community building in Newkirk Saturday, November 13th at 2 pm. Interment will follow the Washunga Cemetery in Newkirk, OK.  A memorial can be found under St. Jude’s Hospital for any donations. Online guest registry is available at www.millerstahl.com

Obituary Preview: Judith (Judy) Elaine Summitt, 73, of Ponca City, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021 in Ponca City, Oklahoma.  She was born on December 16, 1947 in Winfield, Kansas to Gilbert Lee Thomson and Florence Aldeene (Mowder) Thomson.  Judy married Billy Dean Summitt Sr on January 14, 1992 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.  Judy lived in the Muldrow, Oklahoma area for 20+ years before moving to Ponca City to be closer to her family.   She enjoyed camping, fishing, swimming, BINGO, and loved horse racing.  Judy is survived by her husband, Billy Dean Summitt Sr of the home, her children; Joyce Sliter and husband, Russell of Wichita, KS, Jeffery McNickle and wife, Tamara of Gallatin, MO, Julie Eskridge and husband, Paul of Coweta OK, Janet McNickle Eastman and Jim Valliere of Broken Arrow, OK, Brandon Zimmerman and wife, Holly of Ponca City, OK, Greg Summitt and wife, Shelly of Newkirk, OK. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in Seminole, Oklahoma in 1991. He worked for the Kaw Housing Authority doing maintenance. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and dirt road cruises. He had a passion for music and would take his daughters to music festivals and concerts. Dawn was especially proud of being a United States Marine and proud of his country.
Dawn is survived by his mother, Linda, his daughters, Mary, Hannah, and Grace Harrison of Newkirk, OK. His brothers, Sam Harrison, of Arnold, Missouri; Johnny Harrison and wife Jo of Seminole, OK; Younger and wife Stephanie Harrison of Joplin, MO; Elliott Harrison of Seminole, OK; and Eddie Wayne of Oklahoma City, OK. His sister, Leslie Lee Harrison of El Reno, OK. As well as his “bonus family” and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Karrie Kekahbah-Harrison, mother-in-law Debbie Harmon-Kekahbah, his father-in-law Billy Jo Kekahbah and his father Samuel Lee Harrison.

Miller Cadenhead.  Lola was born January 4th, 1938, in Ralston, OK on the family farm.  She completed her education at Ralston where she played basketball for the Ralston Lady Tigers while in high school and graduated with the class of 1956.  She then attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah OK for 1 year and then moving to Hominy.  She later enrolled in Ponca City Beauty School and graduated in 1959.
On Dec. 30, 1961, Lola, and James (Jim) W. Lenon were married in Hominy.  They established their first home in Hominy where they owned and operated a filling station for a time.  She worked at the Hair Bar in Hominy which started her 40-year career as a beautician.  They moved to Ponca City in 1962 where she worked at Miller Markets for a time until she opened her own salon in Newkirk.  They moved to Blackwell in 1974 and she continued owner/operator of her salon until her retirement.  After retirement she worked at local convenience stores where she enjoyed talking with everyone.
Lola was a member of the First Baptist Church in Newkirk and had also attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Blackwell.  She enjoyed quilting, camping and anything that involved the grandkids and great grandkids all 15 of them.
Lola is survived by her children, Teresa Lenon of Tonkawa, James W., Jr. and Stacey Lenon, Jay A., and Angie Lenon, all of Edmond and Jason P. and Gina Lenon of Blackwell; one sister Charlene Wilson and Don of Fairfax; brother-in-law’s; Harold Opitz of Ponca City, Donald W. Lenon of Billings. 10 grandchildren, Rocheyl and Miles Warwick, of Oklahoma City, Trenton Beliel and Ashley Freeman of Edmond, Hayden and Hunter Lenon, Yukon, Allison Lenon and Garrett Heinrich of Enid, Parker Lenon, Edmond, Bailey Lenon, Weatherford, Brett Lenon, Blackwell, Mandi Lenon, Edmond, Peyton Lenon, Blackwell, Jayme Lenon, Edmond.  5 great grandchildren; Landon, Teagyn, Ainsley, and Jett Beliel and Spencer Warwick.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, parents and one sister Ila Mae Opitz.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. on Monday September 27th at the Newkirk City Cemetery with Pastor Matt Smith of Immanuel Baptist Church Blackwell, officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Miller-Stahl Funeral Service of Newkirk.
Those serving as casket bearers will be Trenton and Miles Warwick, Hayden, Brett, Peyton Lenon and Garrett Heinrich.  Honorary bearers are Spencer Warwick, Landon Beliel, Teagyn Beliel, Ainsley Beliel, and Jett Beliel. Lucille married William Ray Perkins and to this union were born four sons.  Later, after his passing, she was blessed to find love again and married Billy Kay.  She came to Newkirk in 1941 and worked at the Newkirk nursing home for 25 years as a nurse’s aide. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and she attended the Christian Church of Newkirk. Lucille was a very dedicated mother and friend. She loved her family deeply.  Her favorite past times included traveling, fishing, and going for walks at Walmart always brought a smile to those who happened to see her there.  She was so caring many people called her grandma because they felt close to her.

Pat grew up in Kay County, graduating from Ponca City High School in 1961. She attended Oklahoma State University where she received her BS in Education. She met the love of her life, Gene Schieber, and they were married July 17, 1965.  They made their home in Newkirk, OK.  Pat taught elementary school at St. Francis and St Mary’s Catholic schools for over 20 years before retiring in 2011.  She enjoyed baking, gardening, canning, and reading, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren. Pat was very involved at St. Francis Catholic Church and living her faith was very important to her. She also enjoyed volunteering for Hospice of North Central Oklahoma.

She married Amos Landers, February 14,1976. They made their home in Newkirk, OK where they raised two children, Audra Lynette and Nathan Lanson.
Patricia and her husband Amos started Landers Window & Exterior Cleaning, in November 1990. She managed the office until her illness in 2015.
Patricia was a beautiful piano player and song writer, learning to play by ear at a young age. She loves to sing and play in church and at Mike's Gospel Jubilee.
Her true calling was being a Mother and a Nana. Her family were her pride and joy.
She is survived by her husband, Amos Landers of the home. Children: Audra (Jimmie) Thompson of Ponca City, OK and Nathan (Lubomira) Landers of Suwannee, GA. Five grandchildren: Jimma (Stephen) Dake, Josie Thompson (Jermie Valentine) and Jori Thompson of Ponca City, OK, Isabella Landers and Mia Landers of Suwannee, GA. Three great grandchildren: Kashlyn, Brooklyn and Gabe. Sisters: Marcia Badley, Melody Johnson, Tanna Lamarr, Verna Lawrence and Diana Gildhouse. Brother: Perry McCune.

He graduated from Haven High School in 1971 after graduation he became a farm and ranch hand, Doug drove a truck for Prairieland Processors and later he became the Supervisor of the Cooler and Transportation Department at Creekstone in Arkansas City, KS. Doug also drove a Belly Dump Truck for Kay County District 2 until his retirement in 2019. Doug's lifelong passion was fishing, boating, camping, and hunting Morel Mushrooms. Doug enjoyed taking his two annual trips a year to Lake Texoma to Striper fish with his lifelong friends and family. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren, and he loved spending time with them and making them laugh. His death will be mourned by so many people because of his big heart and great sense of family and friends. His humor will live on in all that loved him. Doug married the love of his life Heather Jo Shaw in 2001 and they made a wonderful, blended family together with her and was cherished.

He loved being on his boat and watching his grandchildren play in the lake. He graduated with the Newkirk High School class of 1967 and immediately entered the Navy were he served 4 tours in Vietnam. After working for Total Petroleum for 23 years, he obtained an Associates Degree from Cowley County Community College to finish his career as a draftsman for Mertz, Inc.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Susan (Lane) Kirkbride, son Chad Kirkbride and wife Joana, and daughter Kindal Eller and husband Steve, grandchildren, Alexis Kirkbride, Morgan Kirkbride, Jaycee Kirkbride, Hayden Eller, and his sister, Earlene Lane.
He is proceeded in death by both of his parents, his brother, Wilbur Kirkbride, Sister Shirley Jean Kirkbride and brother-in-law James Lane.

Obituary Preview: Ethel Louise Manygoats passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at the age of 87. Ethel was born on September 12, 1933, to Artie Hurst and Ethel Fay (Hackler) Hurst in Blackwell, Oklahoma. She grew up on the family farm around Blackwell and attended school in the Kay County area.
Her first marriage was to Clovis Strange Jr. in Arkansas City, KS. They had one son, Dennis and one daughter, Clovia. On November 5, 1972, Ethel married Johnny Manygoats in El Paso, TX. They spent their life together in various communities, including Newkirk, OK; Bartlesville, OK; Cloudcroft, NM; and Arkansas City, KS. Ethel enjoyed various occupations in the places they lived including working at a gift shop, restaurants, an apple orchard and volunteer fire department.
Ethel is survived by her daughter-in-law, Tammy Strange of Arkansas City, KS; stepson, Harold Strange and wife Rose of Broken Bow, OK; sister-in-law, Royce Hurst of Vinita, OK; two grandchildren, Kylee Hambleton and husband Dustin of Derby, KS and Kayla Ranzau and husband Chet, of Arkansas City, KS; two step grandsons, Greg Strange and Chris Strange of Broken Bow, OK; three great grandchildren, Aleeyah Winegarner of Arkansas City, KS and Jace Hambleton and Cole Hambleton of Derby, KS; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Artie and Ethel Hurst; husband, Johnny Manygoats; brothers, Keith Hurst, Artie Hurst and wife Lura; sister, Lois Schmidt and husband Albert; son, Dennis Strange; daughter, Clovia Strange and stepdaughter, Linda Strange.
In August of 2016, Ethel moved into Alderbrook Village assisted living facility in Arkansas City. The family is grateful for the level of care she was provided by the caring staff at Alderbrook for the five years she resided there, as well as the staff of Serenity Hospice for their excellent care in the last few months.

No matter how long she lived in Ponca, though, she always considered Newkirk home.

The daughter of Alfred Glen and LeAnna Lou Williams Bryson, LaFaun grew up on the family farm NE of Newkirk along the Arkansas River.  Her childhood years were spent helping on the farm, riding horses, and going to rodeos.
After graduating from Newkirk High School in 1959, she then went to on to graduate from Ponca City Business College in 1962.
She began working at Security Abstract Company, spending her day in the County Clerks office typing deeds, mortgages, oil & gas leases, etc.
She and Keith Locke were married October 6, 1962.
Their son, Steven R Locke, was born October 11, 1967.
In 1978 Keith and LaFaun opened Locke Auto Parts which they have operated for over 40 years. LaFaun worked until the end, never wanting to retire as she loved seeing her customers every day.
LaFaun was one of the original founders of Newkirk Main Street, serving on the Promotion Committee and Board of Directors.
She enjoyed the four seasons in Oklahoma and decorated her home to usher each season in.
She walked her entire life, enjoying the quiet and peacefulness of walking at night.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church and she was baptized the same day as her father and uncle Clark Bryson.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
LaFaun is survived by her husband of 58 years, Keith, her son Steven and her beloved grandson, Ryan Locke, all of Newkirk.  She is also survived by other extended family members and a host of friends.

Karen grew up in a military family, so she moved around due to being reassigned to different bases. She graduated in 1961 from Oak Harbor, Washington after spending all 3 of her high school years there, the most in any one location.  After graduation, Karen moved back to the Newkirk area to live with family and she met the love of her life, Charles Ross Kail.  They were married October 6, 1962 in Newkirk, OK and made their home in Kay County. She worked various parttime jobs while the kids were younger and retired after more than 15 years working with county farmers as a program assistant for USDA. After retirement, Karen and Ross enjoyed traveling in their RV to Southeast Oklahoma with their horses and to Colorado. Karen enjoyed spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren, sewing, riding horses, raising cattle and traveling with club members from Excel RV of Oklahoma. She enjoyed the country life and always helped out however she could with the cattle and the wheat farming.  Even in later years, she would make the trip to check the cattle and look for any new calves. Music was a big part of Karen’s life.  She gave piano lessons plus sang, played the piano and played the organ at the First Christian Church for numerous years. Karen was known for her macaroni and cheese and her purple salad at family meals.
