Obituary Preview: Margaret M. Drew, 83, of both Charles City and Richmond, Virginia, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, John H. Drew. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Drew was also preceded in death by Hazel Barley, Sparrow Bradley, and Mr. Dickens.
Margaret attended school in both Charles City and Richmond, and after graduating was employed as a beautician. She worked in the industry for 35 years and was the owner of Drew Beauty Salon. Margaret was also a member of the Hair Professional Association.
In addition to doing hair, Margaret enjoyed cooking, shopping, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was a private duty nurse and spent many hours volunteering at local hospitals. Margaret was a loving mother and grandmother as well as a loyal friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family remembers her as being strong and dedicated to the end.
Margaret is survived by her children, Maurice Drew, of Washington, D.C., Regan Drew, of Hopewell, and Monte Drew, of Hopewell; granddaughter, Joilena Drew; three sisters; four brothers; and a host of nieces and cousins.

Obituary Preview: It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty Winn Sculthorpe, on November 25, 2023, at the age of 77. Betty succumbed to the complications of a prolonged illness while under the care of the hospital staff, surrounded by the love of her family.
Betty is survived by her devoted husband, William Sculthorpe, who stood by her side throughout their journey together. Betty also leaves a lasting impact on her son, Earl Mayton, Jr., her stepdaughter, Alissa Sculthorpe; and her brother, Hildrey Lee Winn, and his fiancée, Dale Rodgers. Betty will also be remembered by her nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and many other family members who touched her heart on a daily basis.
Betty's legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren, Megan Mayton, Mitch Mayton, and Sean Mayton. Her love for them was immeasurable, and the memories they shared will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
A faithful and kind soul, Betty touched the lives of those around her with her warmth and compassion. Her genuine smile and nurturing spirit created a welcoming atmosphere for friends and family alike. Betty's enduring love left an indelible mark on the lives she touched.
Betty's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her memory will serve as a source of inspiration for all who were fortunate enough to know her. As we mourn her passing, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she led and the love she gave to those who were cherished by her.

Elfriede was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was best known to those who loved her as Oma.
Elfriede was preceded in death by her son, William David Aultman. She is survived by her son, Klaus E. Aultman; and her daughter-in-law, Vickie; her granddaughters, Jessica Jackson (Adam) and Rebecca Mazzei (Victor); and her great-grandchildren, Trace Mazzei, Lincoln Jackson, Miles Mazzei, and the soon-to-arrive, Reagan Jackson; sister, Hilde Paulus (Peter), of Landsberg Am Lech, Germany; a special niece, Silvia Guggenberger, of Germany; and many nieces and nephews.
Elfriede dedicated 30 years of her life to her career with Philip Morris before retiring. Her hard work and dedication made a lasting impact on her colleagues and the company. She was and is loved by many and will be dearly missed.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to At Home Care Hospice for their care and love towards Elfriede over the past several months, especially to David, Karen and Christine.

Obituary Preview: Edward King Bradley, 79 years old, a husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on November 3, 2023, at home in South Chesterfield, Virginia.
Ed was born February 23, 1944, in Kingsport, Tennessee, the son of James and Charcie (Hyden) Bradley. Ed graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1961, and subsequently earned a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee in 1965. After college Ed entered the United States Navy which took him to Biloxi, Mississippi, where his first child, Rachel Kathleen was born. After leaving the Navy Ed was hired by Allied Chemical Corporation bringing him to Chester, VA, and the birth of his second child, Richard King. Ed spent his entire career with Allied/Honeywell.
He married Rose Henshaw Harris in 1980, and with his two children and Rose’s two daughters, Kelly and Stacey created a new and dynamic family.
Ed is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Rose; children, Rachel Bradley Logan, Richard (Christine) Bradley, Kelly Harris, and Stacey (Ray) Sommerfeld; grandchildren, Nathan and Erin Logan, Katie (Aleks) Kalman, Megan and Calden Sommerfeld, Robert, Zachary and Randall Gardiner; and brother, Dick (Kay) Bradley. He is preceded in death by his parents; and grandson, Brendan Logan.

Robert spent his life beginning as a crane operator for Castle Equipment, later owned a hauling business and has spent the past 20 years as head of security for Colonial Ford trucks. His hobbies included his love for Bluegrass and Gospel Music. Enjoyed reading, especially about World War II and Classic TV.

Jack was employed as a mechanic most of his life and had a passion for cars. He was a fan of Johnny Cash and enjoyed fishing in his spare time. His greatest joy was being a grandad. His grandchildren were the light of his life and he loved them dearly. He battled his illness courageously to attend his grandson’s 4th birthday party last month. Jack gave back to the community volunteering at Company 13 Fire Department and the Southside Emergency crew.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Stephen Wright. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 24 years, Crystal Dawn Wright, daughter, Kayla Shook, son in law, Zachary Shook, grandchildren, Abel and Disney Shook. He is also survived by sisters, Patricia Smith, Judy Browning, brother, Edward Wright and 3 nieces and 3 nephews special friends, Thomas Nunnally, Darren Nunes, Diane Nunes and Bubby Bish. Born March-5-1966 in Maxwelton West V.A, he has been reunited with his parents: Loving Mother whom he cared for so dearly: Shelby Jean Starke (Hayes), Father: Jack Raymond Hill Sr. Along with his
Sister: Cathy Ann Hill and Late grandparents. Eddie will be remembered and missed so much as a Devoted Father to his Daughter, Loving and caring is an understatement. My Father was one heck of a man who could do it ALL, he worked most of his life in construction, carpentry even up until his sudden passing. Building houses, remolding, he could build a house from the ground up and a car too, you want it done you tell him and he would give you better then what you could imagine. His work was him and he was very particular in all he done at home and on the job it touched him when his customers were over joyed with what they asked for of him he would give you better then what you imagined nothing meant more then his customers happy. Wasn’t nothing he couldn’t fix or make. What He enjoyed so much was making knives and he was so proud of those knives, fishing, sewing, drawing(flames) especially, he could draw just about anything he visioned, he enjoyed cooking of all kinds and specially cooking on that smoker, going to the out door flea markets and finding old antique things, laughing with friends and going for rides. He loved them crawdads and picking them up, he loved animals, and watching the race, his music was rock/heavy metal, Eddie was so talented and artistic, He was a very hard working man all of his life and so much of a humble person who wanted to teach everything he knew to anyone he came around especially to his daughter and granddaughters whom he loved so very much. He was caring and loving he loved plants and he could keep them alive too, he like odd looking things especially little nik naks, He has left an impact on us and memories that are to cherish forever my father knew the lord and was a believer may his soul rest peacefully Forever in our hearts, Daddy/PawPaw we LOVE YOU so much Survived by his beloved Daughter: Brittany Leigh Hill (Rhonda Lee Maupin) Granddaughters: Dúsu and Ai’chja Kromah Brothers: Richie Hill, Andy Hill, Jack Hill Uncles and Aunts of West V.A Nieces and Nephews Loving friends: Longtime Childhood friend/sister Christina(Duck) Katina of Hopewell, Va

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Frank ‘Gus’ Hulcher; her three daughters Carrie Janak (Isaac), Allison LaBrake (Jon), and Kelsey Christopher (Brock); and the true loves of her life who called her Granna: Makensie, Evelyn, Cole, Lucy, and Avery. In addition to her immediate family, Sherri is survived by her grandmother Frances Lucille Bush, her parents Sharon and Charles Persinger, her brother Bobby Persinger (Misti), her sisters Shannon Skelly and Tina Persinger, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and numerous “adopted” children.
Sherri was loved by everyone who knew her. She was constantly surrounded by people who loved her and was blessed to have her friends Tammy, Jennifer, and Stephanie by her side until the very end.
Sherri was a force of will that affected countless lives. Sherri’s family was bigger than her kin; she was always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need. For over three decades, Sherri opened her home to care for children whom she loved as if they were her own.
Sherri never stopped moving and was planning her next summer vacation until her very last days. Whether it was securing a twelve-bedroom beach house or planning her next trip to Disney World, she was always building memories for her family.
Sherri’s memory will live on through those who loved her. Her spirit will endure through the countless lives she touched.

He is survived by his daughter, Kelsey Inez Mooring; his sister, Brenda Sue Mooring; his significant other of eight years, Ida Mary Gray; all of her family that became his family, Marie Oliver Smith, Dawn Aquino, Crystal Hendricks, Gracie, Heather Doughty, Caitlin, and Noah; and numerous other extended family and friends.
Timothy spent his life being a dedicated and loving father, significant other, friend, and worker. He loved being an equipment operator for Chesterfield County and met many wonderful people while working there. He had a witty personality and enjoyed making people laugh, watching the “G-men” lose every Sunday, going to concerts, his dog, Leonidas, anything scary, including Halloween, and spending time with his family and friends. He will always be remembered as a loving person to anyone who needed it. The family will receive friends and family on November 20th, between 4-6 PM at Demolition Coffee (215 E Bank St, Petersburg, VA 23803). Refreshments will be available for purchase.
