To this union, three children were born – Jose, Daniel and Maria. His primary drive in his life was making sure his family was taken care of. He was what a dad was supposed to be. While raising his children, he made sure to always treat them with respect and provided everything they needed so they would never go without. Jose lived for his family and leaves a lasting legacy. He will be dearly missed by his family and all the friends he made along the way. Jose is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Silvestre Moya Escalante and Francisco Moya Escalante.

She was an extremely intelligent, caring, strong person both physically and mentally who battled cancer bravely, fiercely and gracefully. She had a beautiful smile, personality and an even better soul that will be missed by all who had an opportunity to have her in their lives.

Her father, Carl Sternisha, precedes Amy in death. She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Juan A. Gonzalez; her mother, Rebecca Troutman and step-father Wayne Troutman; step-mother, Cathy Sternisha; siblings, Heather Neuhalfen and her husband, Kris, Meghan Sanchez and her husband, Carlos, Alex Sternisha and his wife, Aidan, and Emily Sternisha; nieces and nephews, Carlos Guerrero, Nathan Gonzalez, Annalise Guerrero, Isabel Neuhalfen, Reid Neuhalfen, Emilia Sanchez, Luca Sanchez and Emery Russo; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Timothy Lawrence Sessions was born in Somerville, Massachusetts on April 4, 1947. There were four children in that union; James D. Sessions Jr. (preceded in death) and Marcie B. Allen-Sessions; Gloria Sessions, James D. Sessions III and Bonita A. Sessions.

Timothy was raised in San Antonio by Rev. Earnest Roberts (preceded in death) and Marcie B. Roberts. Tim was baptized and united with a church at an early age.

Timothy graduated from South San High School and attended Cisco Sr. College. He joined U.S. Marine Corps and married Eleanor Latson (preceded in death) where two children were added to that union, Sonia Sessions and Tishawn Sessions.

Tim worked at Brooks Airforce Base library as a clerical tech for twenty years.

Timothy was a strong, loving man who always made those around him laugh through his jokes. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his dear grandchildren. He will be forever cherished in our hearts.

He was preceded in death by his father: Earnest Roberts.

She was a proud and long-time resident of the South Side, where she enjoyed playing Bingo with friends. Margaret was an avid San Antonio Spurs fan, as well as a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cecilio Mazuca Vargas Jr; and her brother, Rudy Garza. Margaret will be dearly missed by her children: Cynthia Lopez; Michael Vargas and his wife, Marisela; Daniel J. Vargas and his partner, Jerrid Luebke; Monica Vargas; and Jason Vargas and his partner, Yarazet Richter; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; siblings: Tommy Garza, Teresa Garza, Esther Johns, Leo Garza, Joe Garza, Roland Garza; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 5 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 10 a.m.

Obituary Preview: Carl D. Derry was born to David Lee Derry and Bennie Hollingsworth Derry on February 4, 1953. He was the sixth child of twelve born to this union. His parents and three siblings preceded him in death.

Carl was educated in the San Antonio Independent School District. After graduation he enlisted in the military briefly serving in the United States Army and returning to San Antonio. Carl was a hard and consistent worker and was employed in various vocations with his last being in convention decorating prior to his disability from a stroke in 2008. Carl liked to spend his leisure time listening to music, reading, watching movies and sports and just relaxing in conversation with family and friends. He always enjoyed and looked forward to sitting on the porch at home where he was joined by other family members, neighbors, friends and often strangers just passing by.

Growing up with his many siblings the family often gathered with one another and extended family and friends to share in special celebrations or just have a fun time together. In addition to being a great brother and son, Carl was an awesome uncle and adored his nephews and nieces. Carl cared for, supported and loved his family and was loved by them. His love for family also extended to many close, long-term relationships with loyal and devoted friends and their families across the city, state and country.

Carl recently diagnosed with cancer was determined to do what was necessary to get treatment. Unforeseen outcomes resulted in his declining health as his family and close friends supported him in his months long battle. Over the years, Carl by God’s grace and mercy, was surrounded by family that shared the compassion of Jesus and God’s gift for eternal life and placed his faith in Jesus as his Savior and has peace with God.

Now it's a littler dimmer now that his ray of light has left us. Erik was larger than life and was taken from this world way too soon. Erik was amazing, the best brother, uncle, friend anyone could have ever hoped or asked for. Erik was such a kind soul, so giving and had so much love for his friends and family and even complete strangers. He loved without expecting anything in return. My brother lived life to the fullest and didn't take his life for granted he knew we get one chance at this life, and he took chances even if he lost, he always got back up and fought a good fight. And oh, how he loved his friends and family. Erik was a fierce individual and sassy and he will be so missed. I'll end this tribute to the greatest brother I was blessed to have for 36 years, and all his family and friends will forever keep his memory alive.

Erik is preceded in death by his father Anselmo Pineda, his mother Lucy Pineda, and sister Lisa Pineda.

He is survived by his sisters Melissa Pineda Robinson, Valeria Pineda. His niece Victoria Bratton, nephew Jaden Pineda, great nephews Joshua Hale, Elijah Hale, and great niece Joriana Hale, and brother-in-law Kenneth D. Robinson Jr.

Our brother is now in Heaven watching over us as one of the newer angels.

Obituary Preview: On Saturday, December 18, 2021, David Allen Rea, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home in China Grove, Texas after several years of health struggles. David was born May 28, 1952, in Amarillo to Claude Elmer Rea Jr., and Elvira Merle (Henry) Rea.

David was raised on a farm in Canyon, Texas, from a young age. After he graduated from high school, he joined the United States Air Force, where he proudly served 26 years, retiring as a CMSgt. He completed all the professional military education and was assigned to several headquarters’ positions during his career. His AF assignments included Osan AB, Korea; Little Rock AFB, AR; Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ; Langley AFB, VA, Eielson AFB, AK; Anchorage AFB, AK; Keesler AFB, MS and his last assignment was Brooks AFB, TX, where he held the position of Chief Enlisted Manager Medical Material.

Upon retirement, he acquired a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University-Kingsville. He served as a panel chairman on the Appraisal Review Board in Bexar County for 6 years.

He met his loving wife, Ruth at Eielson AFB, AK. The two shared a union of almost 37 years of marriage and chose not to have children as two full-time military members. However, they created many wonderful memories that will be cherished forever. Fortunately, David and Ruth transferred concurrently from one location to another.

In David’s spare time, he and his wife enjoyed gardening and spending time on their few acres in China Grove, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Delbert and Danny. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth Ellen Rea, brother: Darrell (June); sister: Gayle, and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and numerous other close neighbors and friends.

The family is more than grateful to the outstanding medical staff at San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC), especially Dr. Bevans and the great support from the Veteran’s Administration (VA).

Adamson High School in 1980. Which is where he developed lifelong friendships and his love for music. He began working various jobs as he navigated through his life. He was a courier for Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He moved from

Dallas, TX to San Antonio, TX. Where he established employment with USA Trucking and also worked as an Uber Driver. He was later employed as a courier for FedEx. Shortly after working with FEDEX; During the time of logistics short falls caused by The Covid Pandemic, Darryl began his short career as a truck driver for Schneider National Logistics until his recent passing. Darryl was also a man of faith. He took the right hand of fellowship with Grace 1st Baptist Church under the pastorship of Reverend Allen M. Ford, February 24, 2019. He was a devout Christian who always strived to encourage others to follow his devotion in Christ

Darryl had such a loving spirit and was truly musically inclined. Music was his life. He became an accomplished tenor saxophone player, along with sharing music from his Keyboard. One of his favorite music artists was "Kenny G." In his spare time, he enjoyed cooking and traveling. His most recent trips were Sharing Thanksgiving with his family in San Antonio, and his trip to Oklahoma December 3, 2021, where he went camping with Steve and Diane, two of his devoted friends. Darry always mentioned his constant communication with cousins during his travels kept him motivated.

Darryl loved the time he spent with his nieces: Renalda (husband Torian), Jasmine, Georgia, Francesca, Elizabeth, and his nephews: Quinson (wife Danielle), Brandon, Xavier, Avery (Fiancée Kim), Christian and Isaac.
