Obituary Preview: Beloved mother, cherished sister, treasured aunt, cousin and friend, Dina Marie Blaylock, age 57, passed away in Longview, Texas on April 21, 2022.  Dina was born in Oxnard, California on May 8, 1964 to J.C. Blaylock and Rita (Palato) Blaylock.  She is preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Rita Blaylock; her special friend who she loved, Greg Neal, and her siblings, Bob, Ed and Sherrie.  She is survived by her children, Jaelynn Blaylock and Eddie Blaylock, and their guardians and close family friends,  Roger and Bianca Ramirez; brother, Jack Thorp (Virginia); many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends, including special friends who were like family: Alan, Rhonda, Doug, Karen, Connie, Stuart, Betty, Tiffany, Amanda, Rachelle and so many other she knew and loved, as well as her four-legged fur babies, Sweet Pea and Sadie.
Dina graduated from Carthage High School in 1983 and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Stephen F. Austin University and was a lifetime member of the SFA Alumni Association.  She worked in the insurance industry for many years and then went into teaching at Marshall High School.  She retired from Waskom High School when her health declined.  Dina enjoyed traveling, music and dancing. She loved football and followed the Stephen F. Austin University, Waskom, Carthage and New Orleans Saints teams.  Dina loved teaching and her students, believing each one was worth her time. Dina’s children were her life and she adored them.  She was well loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

Olen served his country honorably in the US Air Force and was a terminal manager for a freight company for many years. Olen loved his family beyond measure and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed by his love. He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers and sisters; and a grandson, Adam Beasley; Olen is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Virginia Beasley; sons, Barry Beasley (Ruby Ann) and Randy Beasley (Patricia); grandchildren, Cole, Brad, and Elizabeth; great granddaughter, Lilly; brother-in-law, John Wiershing (Patti); sister-in-law, Patricia Dunn (Eddie); and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends who loved him dearly.

Roy was born December 24, 1946 in Harrison County, Texas to Nelson Hines Mayfield and Virginia Bell Hopkins Mayfield. He served his country honorably in the US Army and worked for many years at General Cable. On February 14, 1970, Roy married the love of his life, Linda. They were married for 51 years before her passing in 2021. Roy was a true outdoorsman, was an avid deer hunter, and liked to fish. He always enjoyed sitting outside watching the deer in his backyard just admiring nature’s beauty; he could sit out there for hours! Roy loved his family tremendously.  His grandchildren called him ”PawPaw” and his great grandchildren referred to him as “Old PawPaw”. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy and he loved all his family with everything he had. Roy will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda; and six brothers and sisters. Carlton is preceded in death by his parents, John and Myrtice Geneux; sister and brother-in-law, Linda Stephenson her husband, EA Stephenson, Jr.; brother-in-law, David Strickland; and China’s mother, Cheryl Geneux.  He is survived by his daughter, China Foster and her husband, Michael; grandchildren, Aidan and Kyleigh Foster; sister, Sandra Strickland; the love of his life, Cheryl Denney; his fur babies, Ernie and Shadow, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Carlton attended high school in Shreveport, Louisiana but always considered Marshall his “home”.  He was a people person who never met a stranger. Carlton truly enjoyed his profession as a hairdresser which allowed him the opportunity to get to know his clients.  He loved motorcycles, animals and gardening, but his greatest passion was his family that he loved fiercely. Carlton was well loved in return and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Kent is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth M. Wells; and grandparents, Don “Granddaddy” Warbritton, Catherine “Narny” Warbritton, Charlie Wells and June Murry.  He is survived by his son, Cody Aaron Wells; daughter, Dakota Baldwin (Chris); mother, Donna Philyaw; sister, Rhonda Bocko; brother, Keith Matthew Wells (Janice); his four-legged fur baby, Marmaduke “MooMoo”, as well as numerous other family and friends.
Kent attended schools in Marshall and was a graduate of Marshall High School.  He became an entrepreneur, owning and operating Marshall Collision and Kent’s Body Shop. Kent was smart and a man of many talents.  He was a great cook, loved to fish at “Old Place” and also enjoyed duck hunting.  Kent loved his family and friends and the time spent making memories with them.  His "Granddaddy" held a special place in his heart.  Ken was well loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

She married Billy Jack Graves on February 8, 1953 and together they celebrated 25 years of marriage before his death in 1978.  Ruth was a cashier at Hall Super Store in Waskom, Texas for many years. She loved her family, home, and people which she always treated with love and respect. If you were hungry, she would feed you with a smile on her face, she smiled and loved everyone. She was a wonderful and special lady and will be missed by all those who were blessed to know and love her. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, John and Aleina Lukus; her husband, Billy Jack Graves; her sisters, Rachel Smith (Robert) and Claudia Rose Aleina Lukus Bowers; her brothers, Ray Lukus (Dixie), Bob Lukus (Edith), and Ragnar Lukus; and her son-in-law, Dana Bailey. Obituary Preview: On March 30, 2022, Hollis Earl Vaughn, born February 20, 1928 in Ozark, Arkansas, was called to his heavenly home by his Heavenly Father on the wings of accompanying angels.  Waiting to welcome and join Hollis was his dear daughter, Kathy and her husband, Larry Seaman; his parents, Ernest and Velda Vaughn; brother, Gayle Vaughn; brother, Seldon Vaughn and his wife, Genie; sister, Betty Sparks and her husband, Gerald Sparks; granddaughter, Marisha McClelland; great-grandson, Isaac Seaman; brother-in-law, James Holland, and extended family members and multitudes of friends.
Hollis is survived by his wife, Y’Vonne Holland Vaughn; daughter, Lynne and husband Gary Marshall, and Nita Simmons; son, Terry Vaughn and wife Nanette Vaughn; sister, Hilda Jones; sister-in-law, Audra Vaughn; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Henry Holland and wife Shirley, as well as numerous spiritually adopted sons and daughters, too many to list.
Hollis proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for two years.  He went on to work in Alaska and returned to Beaumont where he worked for Mobil Refinery, Raymond Joines Fence Company, Morgan Insurance and also served as a Minister.
Hollis enjoyed woodworking, singing, building guitars and playing in USO bands during his time in Alaska.  He also enjoyed working on cars (back when you could) and restored a Ford Mustang with his son, Terry.  Hollis was a craftsman in many areas. He taught his daughter, Nita, to lay tile and helped to finish her home.  While Hollis had many interests, his priority was spending time studying the Lord’s word, praying and seeking the presence and peace of his spiritual Father.

Obituary Preview: Marlin Clayton Skinner, 76, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022 in Longview. Marlin was born March 7, 1945 in Marshall to Thomas Chappell Skinner and Zelma Weaver Skinner. He worked as a welder fitter for many years and then as a cattle rancher. Marlin was an avid coon hunter all his life, having purchased his first hound at the age of 15. He was a longtime member of the Bluetick Breeders Coon Hunter Association and also the American Brahman Association. Coon hunting was his life. Marlin’s greatest passion in life was his family. He loved them beyond measure. Marlin was a member of Bell Street Baptist Church since 1998 and loved the Lord with all his heart. On October 30, 1993, Marlin married Patricia “Pat” in Tyler, Texas. Marlin will be greatly missed by all those who knew him and were blessed by his love. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife and mother of his children, Sharon Ready Skinner; and a brother, Thomas Eugene Skinner. Carl is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Bertha Barron; brothers, Jamie Barron, Larry Barron and Wesley Barron; sisters, Elizabeth Barron and Virginia Barron; sister-in-law, Betty Jones, and brother-in-law, Jim Logan.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Alice Barron of Marshall, Texas; daughter, Susan Barron of Marshall, Texas; granddaughters, Amanda Wisdom and husband, Eric Wisdom of Karnack, Texas and Amy Walsworth of Shreveport, Louisiana; great-grandchildren, Nolan Wisdom, Hagan Wisdom, Shyann Wisdom, Riley Walsworth, Heath Walsworth and Madison Walsworth; brother, Howard Barron of Daingerfield, Texas; sisters-in law, Kay Kolb of Midland, Texas and Joyce Logan of Big Springs, Texas; brother-in-law, James Jones of Odessa, Texas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Carl proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.  He later went on to become an electrician and worked for Alcoa for 27 ½ years.  Carl was well loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Ann Blaylock; his daughter, Marianne Grigsby, and parents, Doss and Cora Blaylock; two brothers and five sisters.  He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte Forester (Cecil), Tanya Stephens (Danny) and Wes Grigsby (Stacey Shaw); grandchildren, Kyle Wood, Jamie West (Ronnie), Blake Stephens (Kara), Derick Grigsby (Megan), Cory Grigsby and Shelby Stephens; great-grandchildren, Kayla Flores (Jose), Brooklyn Chadwick (Dee), Peyton Dawson (Chase), Presley West, Colt Wise, Ty Grigsby, Jagger Grigsby, Alexis Pinson, Addison Pinson and Brentley Smith; great-great-grandchildren, Luke, Evan and Elliana Flores and Daxton Dawson; brother, Bobby Blaylock, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other close family members.
Milton graduated from Brownsboro High School in 1955 and went on to proudly serve his country for 8 years in the United States Army. After his service time, he owned Star Cement Company, serving the East Texas area for 44 years before retiring.  In his younger years, Snooks played guitar and loved music.  He also loved the outdoors and enjoyed time fishing, camping and gardening. He loved and treasured his family and the memories they made together.  He loved the Lord and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He was well loved in return and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

She absolutely loved to hear them play. She loved her family tremendously and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her. Evelyn is preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Herbert Collins; her second husband, Morton J. Colvin; son, Ronald Collins; daughter-in-law, Mona Collins; and grandson, Michael Collins. She is survived by her sons, James Rickey Brown and Jackie Collins (Terry); grandchildren, Heath Brown, Trevor Brown-Adams, Jackie McBride, Scotty Collins, Roger Neal, and Lynn Stapleton; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
