Donald was raised by his mother and the late Charles E. Davis.Donald is survived by his wife, Marcia; children, Robin (Dallas) Knight, Toni Henson, Gregory Davis (Christie Haywood), and Angela (Spencer) Walton; grandchildren, Nathan, Michael, Nikki, Matthew, Joe, Patrick, Scotty, TJ, Katie, Allison, and Vincent; 7 great-grandchildren; and 10 siblings.Don was preceded in death by his parents, and 3 siblings.Donald came from a large family. His love for them was beyond belief. They came first above all else. He drove thousands of miles in his lifetime to be near each of them. If they needed help, he stepped up without question.Don was more than a grandfather to his grandchildren. He intertwined with their lives with love and support from their schooling, sports and families.He was a prankster and was quick witted. He loved making people laugh and causing mischief and was an overall pain in the Ass to Marcia! Donald was known as a hobbyist collecting all kinds of things in overwhelming quantities like pocket knives, match box cars, and toy banks. He enjoyed playing golf, woodworking and antique shopping. He will be dearly missed by his family and his very close friends.A private service will be held at McGann Hay University Chapel, with cremation following.The family asks in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Humane Society, 2506 Grape Rd. Born February 7, 1938 in Verona, NJ, Marge is predeceased by her parents Walter E. and Virginia Elizabeth (Umsted) Pattee and her late husband of 50 years, Ronald A. Athey. She is also predeceased by sister Patricia and brother Walter E. Pattee Jr.A self-described character, Marge was happiest on her riding mower, exercising with her friends at Memorial Health & Lifestyle, shopping at Aldi’s or holding Itty Bitty Kitty. A mom to everyone, Marge loved to feed people and hear about their day. Her home was affectionately known as Camp All-Ya-Wanna-Eat. She was especially known for gathering family and friends from near and far for Notre Dame football weekends. Her tailgate parties in the Joyce North Lot were the stuff of legend; always followed by an after-game party and bonfire at her home and Sunday morning breakfast for all. Marjorie is survived by her brothers, Fredrick Milton “Bill” and James Umsted Pattee; her children, Sharon (Mark P.) Cloghessy of Western Springs, IL; James (Amy) Athey of Lakewood Ranch, FL; David Athey of Albion, IN and his fiancée Tracey Rittenberg; four grandchildren: Brian, Elizabeth, Kaylee and Jeffrey (Samantha Dean); one greatgrandchild, Bennett; her beloved nieces Sarah and Abigail – who were like daughters to her; six grandchildren-at-heart: Paige, Brooke, Brandon, Scarlett, Wyatt and Alex, as well as a host of other loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, and many neighbors and friends. Marge was loved and beloved by her family. She left a lasting legacy, teaching each of her grandchildren a special skill: she taught Brian to curse, Elizabeth to drive, Kaylee to drink, and Jeffrey to stand up to bullies. Mom to everyone, friend to all, hostess to anyone who knocked on her door, Marjorie Pattee Athey will leave a hole in our hearts that time may never heal – and that is a lasting legacy indeed.

He was an avid reader and was active on many boards, including at Bethel University where he was an Emeritus Board Member. He and Spike loved to travel, and up until 2020, they always went to their winter home in Florida. She played the trumpet professionally and belonged to Local #278 AF of M in South Bend, IN. She formed and had her own dance bands, played and traveled with the “Musical Majorettes” who toured with the Cleveland Browns pro football team. She earned a music scholarship to IU. She often played and sang with bands at the local Elks Club. Needless to say, music was her true love. Betty loved life, playing bridge, golfing, gambling at her favorite casinos and playing her polka-cello to the famous ND victory march. If ND plays football in heaven Betty will be there tailgating, playing the polka-cello and cheering on her beloved Irish. She was a season ticket holder attending games for over 50 years.She was a member of Corpus Christi Church and Altar Society, Ladies of the Elks Club, Christ Child Society and Michiana Welcome Club.Her family would like to thank the staff at the Village of Arborwood retirement for making her feel at home especially during the trying times of covid.A special thanks to Ann for being not only a wonderful compassionate caretaker but a great friend. Obituary Preview: Our precious gift from God, Margot Ann Witous, went into the arms of Jesus on January 24, 2021, at the age of 2 months and 12 days. She wasn't here on the earth long enough, but we were given more time than we expected and feel blessed to have had that cherished time with her.Margot was born in Mishawaka, IN on November 12, 2020 to Michael John William and Jessica Marie (Juday) Witous. She will also be dearly missed by her brother, Michael John Paul Witous; paternal grandparents, Mike "Sir" and Sheila "Bammaw" Witous of Cassopolis; maternal grandfather, Earl "Grandpa" Juday of Rhode Island; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her maternal grandmother, Jeanette Juday, preceded her in death.Margot was truly a gift from God. In her little time here, she showed us so much love. She had wonderful facial expressions and knew how to express both happiness and frustration. She had a strong and feisty personality, which only helped her through her journey. We will miss watching the bond that was forming between Margot and her brother, Michael. Knowing that she is in the comfort of our Holy Mother Mary's presence, gives us the strength to get through this difficult time. His parents comforted Eric as he slowly respired peacefully with his last smile.Eric's older brother, Ryan (Gina) Montgomery of Osceola; and his maternal grandfather, Jim Crumley of South Bend, also survive to cherish our loving memories of Eric.Eric was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Gerry Crumley, who was waiting for Eric with open arms. Also preceding Eric's death are his paternal grandparents, Gene and Vera Montgomery.Eric appreciated the simple pleasures of life without any complaints. Eric's smile and joyful personality would easily brighten your mood as your best buddy. Eric was elated at family birthday parties and his Clay High School graduation celebration.Eric enjoyed dancing to music, gardening with Grandpa Jim, helping Grandma Gerry with chores, and watching cartoons. He would roar with laughter while throwing ball to our dogs and sitting on his whoopee cushion. Eric often played with magnet toys on our kitchen table.Benchmark Human Services provided loving care for Eric prior to his hospital stay. Benchmark group home and day program gave Eric special attention to support his medically fragile complex needs.Eric is no longer burdened with his ongoing severe illness battles. Eric is beginning his new peaceful life with his Grandma Gerry. Eric's ashes will be a blessed memorial at his family's home. Wayne, IN and Lisa ( Gerry) Heare of Mason, OH; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Helen Kring and Marilyn Lubinski.Shirley was considered the “Staple of the Dew Drop Inn” for the many years she worked there. She had attended Washington High School. Shirley was very passionate about her garden and very generously shared the rewards of her hard work with friends and strangers. She loved to play cards and to win at the casino. The Indianapolis Colts were her favorite team! She was a great cook and created beautifully crafted silk flower arrangements. Her family called her feisty and her sisters blamed her for always getting them into good trouble when they were younger. Shirley was loved deeply by her family and friends and will missed greatly.A private family service will be held later this summer. To their 70-year union, they were blessed with four children: Cathy Ewald (Thomas, deceased) of Noblesville, Greg Curran (wife Angela) of Plymouth, Maureen Houser (husband Greg) of Fishers, and Shawn Curran (wife Sara) also of Fishers. Also cherishing their memory are: 6 grandchildren: Alissa Trowbridge of Franklin, TN, Brett Ewald of Carlsbad, CA, Andrew, Grace and Rachael Houser of Fishers, and Meghan Curran of Indianapolis; and 4 great-grandchildren in Tennessee and California. Paul was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandad. He served in World War II, in Germany, with the US Army 12th Armored Infantry Division and was honorably discharged on July 21, 1946.He was preceded in death by his sisters: Genevieve Patterson, Patricia Tobin, Margaret (Tootie) Nemeth; and brothers: James Curran, Michael Curran, and John Curran.Due to the pandemic, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. He will be laid to rest beside his wife at Highland Cemetery, where military honors will be held.

He is also survived by three sons from his first marriage, Jeffrey (Peter Vukovits) Quebedeau, Christopher (Stephanie) Quebedeau, and Jarred Quebedeau. Michael was the proud grandfather of Corbin. He was the cherished husband of 56 years to the late Barbara Aigotti, who passed January 14, 2020; treasured father to four children; and grandfather of thirteen grandchildren. He was born to the late Charles and Louise (Esposito) Aigotti in Brooklyn, NY, on October 16, 1933.Ron was a self-made man with a remarkable lifetime of accomplishment including his calling to become a physician, running 7 marathons and writing several books. He served as a physician in the army, became a pilot, travelled as often as he could, owned a farm with a menagerie of animals, gardened with great passion, hunted, fished and was an avid reader. He was gentle and loving while resolute and principled. Most importantly, he possessed a great sense of humor and complete devotion to his family.He is survived by his four children, Diane Aigotti, Julianne Aigotti, Matthew Aigotti and Mia Aigotti Garcia, their spouses and his thirteen beloved grandchildren; Michael, Jessica, Samuel and Charlotte Satalic, Aidan Kaczmarek, Zachary, Isabelle and Mallory Aigotti and Mariano, Francesca and Sebastiano Garcia. The family will hold a private service and he will be laid to rest next to his wife at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. A public service will be held at a later date.

A devoted father, David will always be remembered for his dedication to his children and family. He was a kind and loving father with a great sense of humor. David was generous, always willing to give whatever he could, whenever he could, to anyone who needed him. His favorite activity in life was spending time with his family, especially his children. He formerly worked as an Auditor for the State of Indiana, where he excelled and loved his work. (Sobieralski) Gleckler, 73, passed away following a brief illness at Memorial Hospital at 12:05pm on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.Carol was born to her late parents Kathleen (Podell) and Leo Sobieralski on April 17, 1947 in South Bend and was a lifelong resident. On June 18, 1968, Carol married the late Terry Brennan and they would eventually have three children. On September 28, 1996 in South Bend, in a ceremony officiated by the late Indiana Governor Joe Kernan, she married the longtime love of her life Edward L. Gleckler.Carol had a vivacious and fun-loving spirit, and always enjoyed welcoming friends and family into her home throughout her life. She worked for many years at Dodge Manufacturing and The Whistle Stop. In 1988, Carol and Ed took over the ownership of the landmark Joe’s Tavern in South Bend. As a small business owner, she poured her heart and soul into the tavern and its catering operations and took great pride in serving her many loyal customers. Under Carol’s guidance, Joe’s became THE place to be on Notre Dame football weekends. The food was legendary, and the atmosphere was lively and authentic, all thanks to Carol’s vision and hard work. On her rare days off, Carol enjoyed spending time with her family, her grandchildren and her ever-expanding network of friends. She also made it a priority throughout her life to donate to a number of local charities including St. Margaret’s House. In addition to her husband Ed, those left to cherish her memory are her children: Brian Brennan, Robert Brennan and Karagh Brennan; her sister Sandy Andert of South Bend; two brothers: David (Kathy) Sobieralski of South Bend and Johnny (Ross Mangun) Sobieralski of Indianapolis. She was also blessed with three grandchildren who will miss her greatly: Brooklyn and Samuel Brennan and Sophie Sweeney; and numerous nieces and nephews. A sister Kathleen Martin also predeceased her along with her parents.Because of Covid-19 restrictions, she would want everyone to remain safe and healthy therefore, a Life Celebration will be held later this year. Cremation is being handled by McGann Hay University Chapel and the American Cremation Society. Also left to cherish his memory are two sisters, Susan McAloon of Lombard, IL and Marilyn Stanger of Clarksville, TN; and six grandchildren: Gabriel, Jericho, Jordan and Avigayil Juenemann, and Stephan and Alex Jusko.Denny was a loving, caring and devoted husband and father, and a people person who never met a stranger. He was an HVAC pipefitter for Local 597, out of Chicago. Dennis was owner and operator of Wedgewood Park Water Company in South Bend IN. He was active with St. Pius Catholic Church, where he belonged to the men’s group. He was a proud Army Veteran who served in Korea during the Vietnam War. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Jan 6th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior in the church. John earned a Bachelor's degree from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago where he learned to play every instrument. He enjoyed brass instruments, but playing the piano was his favorite. After college he was a music teacher for a few years before deciding to go into the family business of running heavy equipment. His love of music only continued. He was an instructor with the Cavalier Drum and Bugle Corp for many years and directed and played piano for several church choirs over the years. Unfortunately a stroke at 55 ended John's music playing. John enjoyed traveling with Melanie, and his brother, Dave, and sister-in-law, Linda. A favorite memory was when the four of them went on a Bed and Breakfast tour of Ireland. They also traveled to Branson, MO many times attending the musical shows.Every year, John, his brothers and their father went to the Indy 500 time trials. John was gregarious, a master joke teller, always loved making people smile, and he loved his dogs. He never met a stranger. Diane is survived by her husband, John of 41 years. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Ellen (Ray) Halicki; sister-in-law, Frances Pelcin; nephews: Brian (Maria Theresa) and Craig (Kathleen) Pelcin, David (Heidi), Michael (Jennifer), and Jeffrey (Rachael) Halicki; Timothy and Brian (Heather) Barrett; niece, Colleen Barrett; and 14 grand nieces and nephews. Diane was preceded in death by her brother, Jon Pelcin, and a nephew Thomas Barrett.Diane entered the convent in the order of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Cleveland. She attended Ursuline College where she received her bachelor's degree, and continued on to receive her Master's in Religious Education at John Carroll University. She taught religion at Nazareth High school for several years. Sometime after leaving the convent she married the love of her life, John, on September 28, 1979, where they both continued doing the Lord's work in Cleveland, OH; Covington, KY; and Bear, DE. Diane and John worked together fundraising for the Ft. Wayne-South Bend Diocese, then on to the Augustinians in Chicago. When their health started to decline, Mary Ellen, Diane's sister, moved them to South Bend where she could care for them.Diane didn't have any children of her own, but she adored her nieces and nephews. She loved shopping for them and was known as the ‘chief' babysitter. She loved Christmas. Every year she would put up three full sized trees and adorn them with homemade ornaments. She also enjoyed cross-stitching and playing POGO on her computer for hours. Diane also collected Annalee dolls.Diane will be remembered for her great love of Christ, her generosity and love.A Christian Mass will take place on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 10:30 am with visitation 1 hour prior at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Rd., in Granger. While in the Air Force, David earned many honors and awards.David also earned the Eagle Scout Badge, was an accomplished draftsman, made turquoise and silver jewelry, and was a certified CDL driver.David spent his career in the music industry working with dozens of top-tier Rock and Roll bands and toured with national shows and plays throughout the 1980’s and 90’s.He passed through South Bend in 2002 and fell in love. He decided it was time to leave the hard life of the road and made a permanent home in northern Indiana. David was renowned for having great skills for mixing audio, so it was natural that Dave went to work for the Morris Civic Auditorium, where he worked until his passing. He worked his way into becoming Chief Sound Engineer. He loved his job and his co-workers.David also enjoyed being a Union Business Agent for local 187, the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees.David loved spending time with his faithful companion, Titan. Titan is a 10 year old Jack Russell mix who adored his father and loved bacon just as much. Together they would often eat breakfast at the South Bend Café or be seen walking around town. They would pray at the St. Joseph riverbank near Twin Branch, a short walk from their home. Titan now lives with the family that boarded him whenever work took David out of town.David lived to help others, usually putting himself last. All of his texts and e-mails would usually include a creative array of emoji’s on the sign off.He was most proud of his Hopi Indian heritage and stayed in contact with his Hopi family.David was laid to rest on the Hopi Moenkopi Indian Reservation in AZ on December 24, 2020.A brief Memorial Service will take place Saturday, January 23, 2021, at noon at the Morris Civic.
