Antonio “Tony” Castaneda was welcomed home by our Lord on Monday, March 14th, 2022, in Odessa, TX.
Tony was born on January 14th, 1974 in El Paso, TX to parents Marylou Sanchez and Antonio Castaneda. He was a hard worker who always took pride in the work he did, and has been a very talented mechanic for many years. Tony was openly proud of his beautiful wife Rosy and all of their children. Whenever he talked about his family, he did it with a smile on his face. Tony was a dedicated husband and a loving father whose first priority was always making sure his family was taken care of.
He had character that drew people in, and a contagious smile for everyone. Tony loved to laugh and was always ready with a joke or a story to share. At work, he was the kind of co-worker that others are lucky to have. He would go out of his way to lend a helping hand and a positive attitude. Anyone who met him knew that friends like him don’t come along very often.
One thing about Tony is that he wasn’t a quitter. If there was a problem, he was determined to fix it. And that stayed true even when he fell ill and began fighting for is life with an ugly case of pneumonia. As it turned out, the battle for his life was between him and God. He could have easily beaten the illness, but he couldn’t beat God. That Monday afternoon, as he was surrounded by his loving family and the prayers from friends in the outside world, Tony stepped into eternity to be with our Lord and await our presence there.
As we celebrate the life and love of our Tony, we can be certain of this: our lives are better because he was part of it. And later, when it’s our turn to begin the next chapter of life, Tony will be there to greet us with that same smile we all love, and maybe even a joke. We will meet again.
Tony is preceed in death by his brother Agapito Castaneda, his brother in law Sal Castaneda his aunt Amada Salcido ( his honey) grandparents Santos and Manuel Castaneda paternal and maternal grandparents Agapito + Maria Luisa Sanchez.

Obituary Preview: Charlie Castillo of Odessa, Texas passed away surrounded by his loving wife and family on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at the age of 42 due to complications of COVID-19. He fought so very hard to win this battle so he could come home to his family, but in the end he took the hand of God and is no longer suffering. He is at peace and in the presence of his Lord and Savior now. He was a Christian Catholic man. There are no words to describe the heartache and broken hearts his absence has left. The impact of losing Charlie is beyond difficult. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandson, cousin, uncle, god father, compadre, and friend.
Charlie was born on April 14, 1979 to Lalo and Mellie Castillo. He also has a brother (Adrian) and sister (Ruby).
He met and fell in love with the one who won his heart and said he was going to marry her one day. On June 15, 2002, he married the love of his life, Reshall. They were later blessed with their beautiful children whom he loved dearly and knew how uniquely special each of them was. His children were everything to him and went out of his way to give them what they needed and wanted. He always provided for his family and did his best to give them the life he felt they deserved. Charlie could be found on the sidelines, in the stands, or wherever his children needed him to be. He was unendingly proud of all of his children and encouraged them to pursue their life dreams and instilled in them a mentality that they could do anything in life with hard work and perseverance. He loved his family unconditionally with all his heart and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for them. Charlie loved the Lord and always looked to his Heavenly Father for guidance. He was a smart man with the ambition of making a better life for his family through hard work and was passionate about his business.
His goal was to reach the top of that Ladder of Success no matter the obstacles that came his way.

These were Charlie’s words he spoke to his brother that day…“From the day I walked and talked, you were my first hero, my favorite football player, my favorite baseball player, but not my favorite ladies man( heartbreaker). I’m so grateful that the Lord has allowed me to have a brother like you and I know you are thankful for me. Thank you for showing me the many roads of life and for having my back when I most needed you. We have had our moments and we still fight like kids, especially at work. I wouldn’t have it any other way. You’re a great leader, you have an untouched work ethic, and a cool demeanor. Thank you for the gray hair. Our ride at Longhorn has been a blessing, not just career wise, but because we get to see each other every day. It’s been awesome, you know! Bro, I want to thank you for being a great man in my life. I’m proud of you and I’m proud that you’re my brother.” His heartfelt words says it all…perfect!! Those who knew Charlie know he was a humble man with a Heart of Gold. He never met a stranger and always tried to help others in any way he could. He wore a big smile, gave the best, gentle, bear hugs and spoke from his heart openly. He was kind and wasn’t ashamed to shed a tear when needed. He was strong yet loving, serious yet funny and made the best goofy faces that made you laugh. He really enjoyed getting together with his family and the many friends he had in his life. He lived his life to the fullest. He had a talent for making the best BBQ and then some, he had an appreciation for good food, he loved joking and laughing with everyone.
