Juanita Obregon - December 15, 1945 - April 05, 2024

Departed: 04/05/2024 (Woodville)
Obituary Preview: On Friday, April 5, 2024, our dearest Juanita Obregón, a loving and devoted sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully following a brief illness. As a deeply spiritual person, Juanita had an unwavering faith in God. She lived her life as a good and faithful servant of the lord and knew that someday she would return home to him.
Juanita was born in Laredo, Texas on December 15, 1945 to Benito and Maria de Jesus Obregón. She attended Woodville High School, graduating in 1963. She later went on to a career as a Tech Typist for the State of Ohio, Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation, where she worked until her retirement in 1989.
Juanita enjoyed arts and crafts in many forms, but she especially loved creating things for others. She made centerpieces and decorations for showers and parties, as well as other thoughtful gifts and the most beautiful, personalized cards, handmade for her loved ones. It should not be a surprise that she also cherished and kept all of the letters, cards, photos and drawings she received. They were remembrances of love and relationships which she reflected on regularly and appreciated deeply. In addition to crafting, music was an interest for Juanita. She was a superfan of Elvis Presley and enjoyed listening to Tejano music and watching videos of Mexican dancing. Ever resilient, Juanita’s strength and mental fortitude when facing her physical challenges were well known. Though her perseverance was admirable, Juanita will be remembered more for her warmhearted, compassionate nature and the intensity with which she loved and cared for her family, friends and pets. She is continually described as “such a blessing” by those close to her. To Juanita, time spent with siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends was so meaningful and brought her great joy, as did each of the dogs which were so loved by her. She will be sadly missed by her dog “Chico.”
Juanita loved her family and would make it a point to tell them that she loved and appreciated them through her words and actions, but also through her worry about the well-being of each of them. “Take care of yourself,” “be careful,” and “I’m worried about…” were some of her ways to let others know she cared. Her departure was unexpected and has left a deep wound that is gravely felt by her entire family and countless others who loved her deeply.
Juanita is survived by brothers, Benito (Jackie), Cruz, Rolando; and sisters, Olivia (Julian) Herrera, Anita (Steve) Martin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benito and Maria de Jesus Obregón; brothers; Paul, Antonio and sisters; Esmeralda and Maria (Rosendo).
Family and friends will be received 11 a.m., to 12 noon with a Funeral Mass at 12 noon, Monday, April 15, 2024 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 204 South Main Street Genoa, OH. Celebrant will be Fr. Joseph Steinbauer. Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Gibsonburg, OH.
At the request of Juanita, her family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Bay Park Hospital ICU, as well as Hospice of Northwest Ohio, for their compassionate care.

William "Bill" Heineman - March 27, 1959 - June 14, 2023

Departed: 06/14/2023 (Woodville)
Obituary Preview: William “Bill” Heineman, Woodville native, passed away on June 14, 2023 at the age of 64 at St. Vincent Hospital. Stubborn until the end, Bill refused to give up the fight against his many medical issues until it was finally time to go to the great hunting lodge in the sky, despite the valiant effort of the St. Vincent Heart and Vascular Institute staff.
Bill was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to shoot, to hunt, and to drink wine while playing music at volumes that would have most reaching for a pair of earplugs. He liked most dogs better than most people, and leaves behind a list of puppies past and present too long to count that owe him for many years of kibble and belly rubs.
Bill met the love of his life, Terri, while crashing a bachelorette party long, long ago. From that moment on, she was the most important thing in his world, and she remained so for 42 years of marriage. Over the last twenty years, Bill and Terri found a special joy in spending time with the many friends they’ve made at Disney World. Along with Terri, he leaves behind one son, Rob, Rob’s partner Liz, and three little dogs, Abby, Rita, and Pearl. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Clara Heineman. Bill will be honored in a private funeral ceremony. A celebration of his life for his family and friends will be announced and held in the coming weeks. If you would like to make a donation in Bill’s memory, please donate to Island Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary at https://islandsafeharbor.org/.
