Rodney Scott Roosa age 60, of Lake passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Clare.
Rod was born in Sheridan, MI on March 15, 1960 to Earl and Margaret (Richardson) Roosa. He grew up in the Weidman area and graduated from Chippewa Hills High School with the class of 1978. Rod worked for Maeder Brothers Sawmill for over 18 years.  He loved spending time with his family and friends having a good time; but his most joyful passion in life was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchild.
Rod is survived by his significant other, Becky Pasch; children, Steven (Natasha) Craven, Sunnie (Paul) Roosa, Michael (Casey) Roosa, Colby Roosa and Jack Roosa; grandchildren, Trinity, Chanse, Adikyn, Azahlia, Destiny, Pashance, Jazmine, Madison, Josh, Aiden, Deyshaun and Easton;  1 great grandchild; Mattias; silbing, Ricky (Mary) Roosa and brother-in-law, Gene Winnie; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Rod was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marilyn Winnie.
A Memorial Gathering in Rod's honor will be held on Saturday, March 13 at his home at 3 p.m.

Kisa “Susie” Norita Dolezal, age 92, of Mt Pleasant passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital.
Susie was born on August 4, 1928 to Kanosuke and Rise (Munakata) Norita in Aomori, Japan. She attended school in Japan for Floral Design and Dress Making and became very skilled at them both. She was a seamstress for Macy’s Department Store in Colorado Springs, CO. Her most cherished times were spent with her granddaughter, Lauren. She loved playing Bingo and Sudoku.
Susie is survived by her son, Bill Dolezal; granddaughter, Lauren Dolezal; niece, Yoshiko Tazawa.
Susie was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Dale Dolezal, USAF.
Susie will be laid to rest beside her husband in Colorado Springs, CO in 2021.

Delmar W Croff, age 75 of Midland passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020.
Del was born on October 10, 1945 to Delmar G and Norma (Koch) Croff in Ann Arbor, MI. He was raised and attended school in Saginaw, MI.  After high school Del married Joan C Lempke on August 19, 1967 in Petoskey. Del was employed by General Motors as a Specifications Writer, retiring after over 30 years of service. He was also employed by Soaring Eagle Casino; he worked in security for 15 years. Wildlife pastels with chalk were Del’s most favorite pastime and he also found great joy in horseback riding.
Del leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Joan; sons and daughter, Dwayne (Lisa) Croff, Kirk (Amy) Croff, Tanya (Karan (Sagar) Croff; grandchildren, Valor, Hayden, Kirsten, Amanda, Arjun; siblings, Lillian Dashkovitz and Mark Croff; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Del was preceded in death by his parents.

Thomas C Maier, age 73 of Weidman passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital.
Tom was born on November 19, 1947 to Clare Elton and Rita (Parish) Maier in St Johns, MI. He attended school in St. Johns, MI graduating with the class of 1966. After high school Tom started his path towards becoming a funeral director but got side tracked along the way and made other career choices.  Tom worked numerous places including Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, City of Lansing Fire Department, Michigan Department of Corrections (as a fire safety inspector), Oak Grove Funeral Home and Brigham Funeral Chapel. Tom married Kathy Fisher on September 8, 1989 in Ovid, MI.  In 2004 when Tom was 56 years old he attended Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago to finish what he had started after high school. In 2011 Tom and Kathy opened Maier Family Funeral Home in Weidman. The Lord has helped Tom and Kathy through some very tough and challenging times. Tom attended the Weidman Baptist Church, was a member of the Weidman Eagles # 4540, a past member of the Weidman Lions Club and even a Den mother for the boy scouts decades ago. He had inherited his father’s Santa Suit and had played Santa many times. Most recently Tom had continued his love for the fire service by serving on the governing board for the Nottawa-Sherman Fire Department in Weidman, MI.
Tom leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Kathy; children, Shelly Thompson, Thomas C (Stacy) Maier, Jr.,  Lori Thompson, Chad (Tara) Carman, and Brad (Amy Jo) Carman; siblings, Barb (Robert) Harte, Terry (Marti) Maier, Cindy (Mike) Keilen, Karen (Mark) Smith, and Tim Maier, 18 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Nancy; daughter, Monica Lee-Carman Coopshaw; son-in-law, Ryan Joseph Coopshaw; and in-laws, Kenneth and Gwen Fisher.
An outside funeral service for Tom will be held on Friday, November 27, 2020 at 12:00 noon at Maier Family Funeral Home, 5483 W Weidman Road, Weidman, MI with Pastor Dean Willard officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral service from 10 to noon. You can choose to remain in your vehicle for the service or sit outside your vehicle in the parking lot. Feel free to bring a comfortable chair if you choose. Please be prepared and dress for the weather. Social distancing will be required and mask use will be required when social distancing is not possible. Burial will be at Fairfield Cemetery, Vincent Road, Carland, MI (crossroads of Vincent and Juddville Road).
The family would like to thank McLaren Central Michigan Hospital in Mt. Pleasant for the love and care in taking care of Tom and family. They went beyond expectations.

Elaine Carol (Smalley) Martin, age 77 of Lake Isabella passed away surrounded by her loving family unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus, Grand Rapids.
Elaine was born on December 23, 1942 at Mt Pleasant; she was the daughter of the late Ray and Mary (Smith) Cornell. She grew up in the Mt. Pleasant area and attended the Mt Pleasant schools.  Elaine married Harold Smalley at First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant on September 22, 1961. She worked for Ric’s in Mt. Pleasant for many years. Her most cherished passion was spending time with her family and she enjoyed doing puzzles, knitting, crocheting, shopping, gardening and reading.
Elaine leaves to cherish her memory her children, Dave (Lori) Smalley, Scott Smalley, Bob (Tammy) Smalley, and Steve (Jill) Smalley; grandchildren, Jena Smalley, Tyler (Kara) Smalley, Chris Smalley, Alex Smalley, Aaron Smalley, Hanna Smalley and Chase, Brinden and Jaxson Smalley; great grandchildren Trevor Isham, Madison Isham, Ryleigh Smalley, Colton Seeley and Austen Seeley;  sister, Sharlene (Richard) Wilson and a dear friend, Rae Ann Doepker and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was a member at the Maranatha Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herold and sister, Betty Spiris.
A funeral service for Elaine will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Maier Family Funeral Home, 5483 W. Weidman Road in Weidman with Jerry Sill officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Elaine will be laid to rest in Salt River Cemetery at Shepherd. Shirley was born on April 23, 1943 to Ferry Addison and Doris May (Esch) Pease in Alma, Michigan. She grew up in the Beal City area and graduated from Beal City High School in 1961. Shirley married Elton Dean Shattuck on April 25, 1964 at the Winn United Methodist Church. Shirley loved to cook and bake, and doing crafts, but most of all she loved her family and friends. Shirley was a member of the Isabella Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant.

He grew up in the Riverdale area and graduated from Vestaburg High School in 1956 .  Elton married Shirley Louise Pease on April 25, 1964 at the Winn United Methodist Church. He worked at Alma Products as a machinist and retired after 35 years of employment.  Elton served his country proudly in the United States Army and he was part of the Old Ironsides Division. Elton loved to go fishing and working on old cars was a favorite pastime.  Elton was a member of the Isabella Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant.

Dudley was born on July 14, 1940 to Bruce E and Mary E (Bowen) Hoyt in Lincoln Township of Isabella County, MI. He worked for Hubscher & Sons of Mt. Pleasant as a heavy equipment operator for 53 years, retiring in 2002.   Dudley enjoyed doing woodworking, hunting, fishing and traveling to the Upper Peninsula; he especially loved spending time with family. He attended the Church of the Nazarene in Weidman.
Dudley is survived by his children, Cindy (Don) Starr of Barryton, Shelly (Gary) Welnitz of Brimley, Deanne (Kevin) Lautner of Traverse City; 9 grandchildren; Jarrod, Sarah, Noelle, Nolan, Nicholas, Corey, Jake, Travis and Kyle; numerous great-grandchildren; siblings, Shirlee Ann Kendell, Larry (Marvel) Hoyt, Roy (Gerry Lou) Hoyt, Rodney (Donna) Hoyt and Ricky Hoyt; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Michael was born on May 9, 1951 to Howard and Marion (Knoble) Green in Detroit, MI. He was raised in the Dearborn Heights area and attended the area schools.   In November, 1970 Michael enlisted in the United States Navy.  Mike worked at several casinos from Nashville, TN to the Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant where he has worked for the past 11 years.  He enjoyed playing golf and working in his yard.
Michael is survived by his children, Trisha DeBoyer, Christy Lorenz, Jamie Green and Donald Rundy; numerous grandchildren; brother & sister-in-law, Jerry & Gloria Green.

Cinde was born on July 18 1966 in Midland to Richard T and Mamie M (Werbicky) Ridgway.  She grew up in the Mt Pleasant area and graduated high school. She was married to Ronnie L Doty until his passing on January 25, 2010. Cinde worked for the Soaring Eagle Casino in the housekeeping department for many years and also worked as a direct care worker. She enjoyed working puzzle books and puzzles; but especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Cinde was a people person and would help anyone in need and she was known to adopt a few into her family.
Cinde leaves behind her children, Jimmy (Elizabeth) Doty, Timmy Doty, Robert Doty and Linda Doty; grandchildren, Aliea Saenz and Zoe Ruppert; siblings, Mary Ann Ridgway and Ada Patterson and numerous nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
Cinde is preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Ronnie Richard Doty and a brother, Frank Werbicky.

Ed was born on December 1, 1941 to Edward M. and Delores (Button) LaBounty Sr.  He was raised in the Benton Harbor and St Joseph MI areas and attended the local schools.  Ed married the love of his life Beverly C Green in Benton Harbor and they were married 60 wonderful years. He was employed by Ford Motor Company in Woodhaven MI as a plant engineer manager, retiring after 30 years.  Ed enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the Freemasons.
Ed is survived by his wife, Beverly; children, Tamara Floyd and Jacqueline Guerin; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Irene and numerous nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, June 22, 2020 at Fairview Cemetery.  The family will meet with friends on Sunday, June 21, 2020 from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. at Maier Family Funeral Home.   We ask that due to the current Coronavirus restrictions groups of 10 enter the funeral home at a time and keep social distancing in mind.
Memorial donations in Edward’s memory may be made to the Nottawa & Sherman Township Fire Department. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Cindy leaves behind her mother, Priscilla Ferguson; children, Nicole (Samuel) Funsch, Corey Lunsted; grandchildren, Anthony, Samuel JR and Rebecca:  siblings, Denny, Roxanne, Annette, Sheila and Robert; and numerous nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
Cindy is preceded in death by her father, James.

He was employed by Oldsmobile in Lansing as a forklift driver, retiring after 32 years. After retirement Willie did landscaping for Kentucky Fried Chicken in Mt. Pleasant for 20 years.  He was an avid fan of the Redwings and did not miss a game and he was also a Lions fan. Willie enjoyed working outdoors with his flowers, playing pool, eating ice cream and peanut butter fudge. Willie and LuAn enjoyed going on motorcycle rides and mystery trips.
Willie leaves behind his wife, LuAn, children, Neil Watts, Mark (Claudia) Watts, Becky (William) Pellegrino, Sally (Larry) Barhart, Debra (Danny) Dillingham, Pamela (Dan) Handlon and Teresa (Brian) O’Connor; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Kay, Garnet and Dana and numerous nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
Willie is preceded in death by his parents and son, Gary Bailey.

She was employed by the State of Michigan working at the Veterans Home in Grand Rapids as a nurse’s aide for over 50 years, retiring in 1989.  She was a faithful member of the Grace Fellowship Baptist Church in Edmore and she loved the Lord. Reva enjoyed watching the birds and playing at card parties but her most favorite pastime was spending time with family and working in her flower gardens.
Reva leaves behind her children, Larry Slyter, Connie Loper, Carrol Lamb, Lee (Mary) Slyter, and Dawnn (Josh) Barnes; she also raised 3 grandchildren, Jeni, Dale and Alan; 17 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Bernard Armstrong, David (Karen) Armstrong, Audrey Vining, and Maxine Mowan; and numerous nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.

Ed is survived by his daughter Michelle (James) Chafee-Wilgus, grandchildren Jessica and Ryan, sister Patricia. Ed will be missed by his many friends here and in Florida.

She was a faithful member of the Chippewa Hills Baptist Church and she loved the Lord. Norma enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, cooking, word search puzzles and spending time with family.
She is preceded in death by her husband William Oakley Sr., parents Theron and Viola (Shipley) Phillips, Brother Don (Ernestine) Phillips, brother in law Frank Ruttman.
She leaves behind her daughter Susan (Ronny) Sprague of Weidman.
