Angeles Josefina Rivera de Porrata, originally from Puerto Rico, and most recently resident of Wesley Chapel, FL, after 82 years of a beautiful and wonderful life, went to reside with our Heavenly Father on May 9, 2024, at Tampa, FL, following a courageous battle with lymphoma cancer. Now she rests in peace at our Eternal Home. We thank God for Angeles' unconditional love for all her family and friends. Angeles was a woman of true faith in God and loved Him with all her heart.
Angeles was a gentle soul whose caring nature touched everyone she knew. Her journey through life was marked by her great devotion to God, brilliant sense of humor, boundless energy, and her unwavering commitment to her family and friends. Angeles made and nurtured enduring friendships all along the way. She was a beacon of light and warmth in the lives of those she touched.
Born in Jayuya, Puerto Rico, on June 5, 1941, daughter of the late Angel Manuel Rivera-Gonzalez and the late Maria Isabel Martinez-Muñiz. She attended the University of Puerto Rico obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Home Economics with a concentration in Education and post-graduate studies on Special Education. Angeles enjoyed a long teaching career in Puerto Rico and in Pennsylvania, ministering to students with special needs. Angeles’ legacy is the joy, love, and positive energy she brought daily to the homes and hearts of her students, fellow colleagues, family, and friends. Angeles’ Catholic faith, her unconditional trust in God, her love for Jesus Christ, the Holly Spirt and the Virgin Mary were fundamental pillars of her personal and professional life. She was an active member of the Roman Catholic and Apostolic Church everywhere she lived and in her later years was highly active in St. Mark the Evangelist Parish. Obituary Preview: Robert Hilliard Oxendine passed peacefully at his home in Tampa, FL, on April 4, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with glioblastoma that began in November 2020.
Robert was born on July 26, 1961, in Milton, FL, the youngest of three sons to Elizabeth Moody Oxendine and Thomas Oxendine. He grew up in Arlington, VA and attended Washington and Lee High School, where he was a three-sport letterman, captain of the football and wrestling teams, and named All-District in football and Regional Champion in wrestling. He was heavily recruited to play college football and chose Duke University in North Carolina. At Duke, he excelled as an offensive lineman and was named ACC Player of the Week several times, as well as first team All-ACC and Second Team All-America. A true scholar-athlete, he was elected captain of the football team his senior year and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science.
The day of his last college senior exam, he flew to Tampa, FL to join the newly formed Tampa Bay Bandits USFL team. Once there, he started on the offensive line for the rest of the games that season. After a season with the Bandits, he attended the University of Virginia School of Law, where he met the love of his life, Selene Miconi. The two married on December 19, 1987, and worked at large law firms in downtown Tampa until they decided to start a family. They then opened a small private practice near their home that they managed together until his illness. A constant student of trial advocacy, Robert was passionate about defending his clients and kept a busy schedule that included a heavy trial load.
They were blessed with four children: daughters Somerlyn, Sarelle, and Seneca, and a son, Raleigh. In addition to maintaining a thriving law practice, Robert was also a devoted husband and an ever-present dad. He could be counted on through thick and thin, and was always there to lend an ear and give sage advice. He joyously attended every single performance of every single dance production and helped coach their sports teams. He was famous for giving his players nicknames. In his final years, he proudly watched his son Raleigh’s college football games, the graduations of his daughters Somerlyn and Sarelle from law school, and his daughter Seneca’s medical school white coat ceremony at his alma mater, Duke.
With his family, he could be counted on to bring joy and entertainment to any situation, from instigating lively car sing-alongs and performing ongoing comedic bits to inventing “magic carpet rides” and creative games to play at the beach that kept the kids laughing and running around for hours. He had an unquenchable thirst for learning and enjoyed debates at the dinner table. On family ski trips, hiking excursions, and travels abroad, he was a consummate adventure companion, tour guide, and culinary expert. He loved to bring home flowers for his wife and eventually learned to cultivate roses, growing a special one for her and each of their daughters. He enjoyed long walks and weekend getaways with his wife, exercising, and storytelling, both factual and make-believe, and also dabbled in playing the harmonica, “casting the line,” and drawing.
Robert is survived by his wife of 36 years, Selene; daughters, Somerlyn, Sarelle, and Seneca; son, Raleigh; and brother, Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Elizabeth, and brother, William. He was a proud Lumbee Indian with many cousins and extended family members. Rhonda Lea Mellinger (Laskowsky) - Unknown - March 26, 2024

Departed: 03/26/2024 (Land O' Lakes)
Obituary Preview: Rhonda Lea Mellinger (Laskowsky) lived 65 years that were defined by her dedication to serving others. On March 26, 2024, she died peacefully after an extended fight with cancer.
She was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, on December 21, 1958, to the late Carol and Ronald Mellinger. Molded by her adventurous and independent childhood, she became the resilient, hard worker her family and friends could always depend on. She also learned how to savor the silver lining rain or shine. After exploring the country, she settled down to pursue a career as a nurse where she touched lives for 40 years, often working with those most in need.
Rhonda often told everyone her greatest achievement and greatest love was her family. No mother was prouder of her children and she was simply over the moon with her grandkids and everything they did. Her time spent with them was the happiest of her life.
Some of the fond memories family and friends have of her are how she enjoyed a nice cup of coffee at any time of day, relished enjoying the sights on train rides, explored Disney resorts at Christmas time, treated herself to tea houses with her daughter, kayaked at sunset to watch the dolphins, and just read and do crosswords with more coffee or a glass of wine.
She is survived by her sister Renae; her children Mary, Daniel and Robert; their partners William, Sarah and Allie; her step-grandchildren, Lennon and Ciarán, and her grandchildren, Riley and Wyatt, whom she loved beyond measure. To say her family and friends will miss her is an understatement, though it's fair to say Rhonda didn’t want to be missed but to be remembered fondly and well.

Obituary Preview: Robin Williams, beloved husband, father, son, and friend to all, departed from this world after a sudden heart attack on March 14, 2024, leaving behind a legacy that touched countless lives. He is survived by his loving wife Jackie, his children, grandchildren, extended family, and a host of friends and admirers around the world.
Robin was born in London, England on November 4, 1963 and went to high school in Miami, Florida, but that was only the start of a journey decorated by remarkable achievements and cherished moments shared with those around him.

A lifelong enthusiast of soccer, Robin found solace and joy on the field, where his love for the beautiful game knew no bounds. Throughout his entire life, Robin’s love for family and duty to their well-being was unmatched and unquestionable. His new title of grandfather brought a smile to unlike anything else.
