(Jodi) Clarkson and William S. (Joanne) Clarkson; stepson, Don (Kathy) Wheeler; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Wheeler; step-daughter-in-law, Kathy Wheeler; daughter, Patricia A. Chaplin (companion Dave Beals); step-daughter, Tammy Wheeler (Bill Maruna); sister-in-law, Elsie Gabrielson; brother, Harry L. John "Junior" Miles, Jr. - January 27, 1926 - January 01, 2022

Obituary Preview: John "Junior" Miles Jr., 95, of Irvona went to be with his Savior in Heaven on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022. He was born on Jan. 27, 1926, the son of John K. and Esther (Nedimyer) Miles. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and after returning home, he went back to work for Swank (TYK) Refractories. He was a member of the Irvona C&MA Church where he served on the board and as an elder for many years. On April 23, 1948 he married Victoria A. Desmett, and they had almost 74 years together. The raised four children, Dave (Laurie) of Houtzdale, Dan (Ruth) of Irvona, Jeanne of Irvona, and Sharon (Sid) Ellis of Morrisdale. He is also survived by grandchildren, Jason (Lori) Miles, Lisa (PJ) Matier, Danielle, Megan and Mallory Miles, Scott (Dana), Sid (Katie) and Derek Ellis; great-grandchildren, Elisha Matier, Amber (Jeffery) Henry, Amaura, Audrina, Archer, Brooke and Addison Ellis. Also surviving is a brother, Roger; and sisters, Vivian Michaels, Luella Desmett and Donna Gillen. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Melvin (Bud), George, Floyd and Jerry; sisters, Betty Morris, Florene Pitcock and Twila Smyers; and an infant granddaughter. The family would like to thank Penn Highlands Hospice for their dedicated service over the last 10 months. There will be no public viewing. Born Feb. 19, 1925 in Irvona, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Yagella) Ninosky. She was the wife of the Rev. Ralph Lindsey Sr. who preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 2009. In addition, she was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Douglas Lindsey on Aug. 22, 2003; three brothers, Mike, John and Nick; three sisters, Catherine "Katie" Dudurich, Rose Adcock and Helen Andrews. She is survived by three children, daughter Bona (Gary) Robinson of Baden, Joseph (Carol) Lindsey of Cranberry Township, and Ralph Lindsey, Jr. of Irvona. Also surviving, sister Mary Hilliard of LaJose, brother Raymond "Chuck" (Sharon) Anderson of Irvona, nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Olga was a faithful and supportive pastor's wife, serving as pianist, organist, choir director, and teacher. She and her husband supplied vocal duets in other churches and conferences. They pastored the Christian and Missionary Alliances Churches in Sherman, N.Y., Gibsonia and Titusville. After her husband retired, they served in an interim position at the McPherron C&MA for an additional 8.5 years. Olga also worked as a tax consultant for H&R Block, and in accounting for a local TY cable office for many years. Queen, 90, of Irvona, daughter of Mike A. and Cynthie (Boyles ) Hockenberry, who proceeded her in death, passed away at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Oct. 27, 2021. On Sept. 24, 1955 she married Elwood C. Queen, who went to be with his Lord in November 2000. They made their home in Irvona where they had three children, daughters Susan Dolby (David) of Glen Hope, the late Judy (Tom) Chutko of Irvona, who also proceeded her in death; and a son, Elwood (Sandy) of Altoona. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Dora Hulie; two brothers, John and George Hockenberry; and a grandson, Michael Caldwell. She is survived by sisters, Elizabeth Queen of New Millport and Betty Sable of Beccaria; grandchildren, Ernie Caldwelll, Christal Dolby, Jason Hockenberry, Thomas and Patty Chutko, Angie Marrow, Joseph Queen; and 12 great-grandchildren. She attended the Rock Freedom Fellowship Church in Coalport, with Pastor Robert Queen. In lieu of of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Irvona Volunteer Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 151, Irvona, PA 16656. Due to the pandemic there will be no visitation or viewing. She will be laid to rest beside her husband Elwood Queen at the Fruit Hill Cemetery, Ansonville. Obituary Preview: ANSONVILLE - Duane W. Strong, 84, of Ansonville, returned to his heavenly home on May 16, 2021 after a valiant battle with an illness. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. Duane was born to the late Thomas and Nellie (Johnston) Strong in Ansonville on June 8, 1936. He graduated from BCI in 1954 and began his lifelong career as a heavy equipment operator at Benjamin Coal Co. He was especially proud of operating the largest dragline in the United States, as documented in a 1963 article in the Centre Daily Times. He took some time away from the coal business to enter the U.S. Army, which he served in from 1959 to 1962. Duane was blessed with a loving family. He married his best friend, Marylee Freeman, on March 28, 1964 in Clearfield. Duane and Marylee adopted a daughter, Amy, in 1975. Duane helped raise his daughter with patience, discipline and humility. From the very beginning, he dedicated his daughter to God and encouraged her to explore the beauty of living a life for Jesus. Duane had a kind and gentle spirit; he was friendly to everyone he met. He was truly a giver. If you drove past his house, you could always count on a smile and a wave. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator. Duane is survived by his wife, Marylee; his daughter, Amy Cutler and her husband Joe of Ansonville; his grandson, Joey Cutler and his wife Bekah of Clearfield; his granddaughter, Jade Cutler of Ansonville; and his brother Mahlon (Darlene) of Enola. He was a member of the Zion Baptist Church in Ansonville. Friends will be received Wednesday, May 19, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home, Inc., Irvona.
