He attended Iowa School for the Deaf in Council Bluffs, graduated 1970. He continued with his education graduating from Iowa Central Community College. Timothy retired from the Iowa School for the Deaf in 2014, after 17 years as a residential counselor.Timothy’s passion for what he believed in, led him to be involved in many different organizations throughout his life: Iowa Association of the Deaf (IAD), Council Bluffs Silent Club (CBSC), North Central Club of the Deaf (NCCD), Iowa Deaf Campers (IDC), and Midwest Athletic Association of the Deaf (MAAD). He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes, Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins fan, he would never want to miss a game.He will be sadly missed by the love of his life and wife of 50 years, Natalie, his children Willie (Amanda) and Dirk; his grandchildren the light of his life Millie Lu and Ernie; sister and brother-in-law Lizabette (John) Matthews all of Gilmore City; niece Holly (Dylan) Applegate, nephew Jacy Matthews (Natalie) and great nephew Braxton Applegate; many other family members and friends. Joe wore many hats; custom farmer, welder and self-taught mechanic. He worked at Martin Marietta Limestone Quarry for 23 years, and most recently helped his daughter and grandson with the farming.Joe was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where he earned the title of 3rd Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. Burial will take place at Clinton-Garfield Cemetery in Rolfe. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Faith United Methodist Church in Gilmore City. Services have been entrusted to Lentz Funeral Home of Gilmore City.Paul Eldridge Kipfer was born on August 15, 1953 in Rolfe to Eldridge and Bonita (Philp) Kipfer. The oldest of two boys, Paul grew up on the family farm just a half mile west of Rolfe, where he & his brother Todd helped his family farm & tend to the animals. Paul graduated from Rolfe High School in 1971. He then went on to lowa Lakes Community College and received a degree in Farm and Diesel Mechanics. Following college he started work at W.H. Goodrich, working full-time until 1982. From there, Paul opened his own mechanic shop in that same building where he worked until the early 1990s. From there he was employed by K.C. Nielsen in Humboldt until he retired. The three things that meant the very most to Paul were his Family, his unwavering Faith and Fishing of course! He never passed up a good fishing trip. Every year he took his annual fishing trip up to Brainerd with his closest friends. Paul had the gentlest voice and magnetic smile. He always was gracious and kind to everyone he met. He loved visiting with his many friends around Gilmore City. His love in life, was his 1974 Plymouth Cuda upon deciding to “improve” it. He got it all taken apart, and the ongoing joke was he was going to get that thing put back together.. that was 40 years ago! He also had great devotion to his 2 cats over the years, Black Jack & Gizmo. He was a member of the Rolfe Methodist Church & Rolfe Shared Ministry, and more recently the Methodist Church in Gilmore City. He was a Rolfe Pullers Member and served on the Gilmore City Council.​

Funeral service for Denzil will be 10:30 AM Friday, June 30th at the First Lutheran Church in Gilmore City. Burial will take place at Marble Valley Cemetery in Gilmore City with Military Honors conducted by the Gilmore City and Humboldt American Legion and the Iowa Army National Guard Honor Guard. Visitation will be 9:30 am until service time at the church on Friday.
Denzil Harold Wiemers, the son of Mike and Anna (Schoon) Wiemers, was born on September 8, 1933 in rural Gilmore City. He attended Gilmore City Schools and graduated with the class of 1951. Denzil proudly served in the United States Army from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1956. On March 25, 1956, he was united in marriage to Donna Frank in Gilmore City. Denzil was a farmer at heart who loved construction. He was actively farming until his health failed a year ago. Denzil was a member of First Lutheran Church in Gilmore where he served on church council and took part in numerous charity benefits through the Lutheran Brotherhood organization.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Diane Morrison of Grimes, David (Peggy) Wiemers of Bayard and Duane (Beth) Wiemers of Pocahontas; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother: Maynard Wiemers of Humboldt and sisters-in-law: Karen (Don) Day of Gilmore City and Armona (Allan) Redenius of Fort Dodge.

Jeanne Hutchinson - December 28, 1939 - May 30, 2023

Obituary Preview: Jeanne Hutchinson, 83 of Gilmore City, passed away on May 30, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday June 2, 2023, at the Faith United Methodist Church in Gilmore City, Iowa. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Friday prior to the service.
Jeanne Elizabeth Peters was born on December 28, 1939, to Henry and Grace Peters of Gilmore City. She was united in marriage to Daryl Hutchinson on September 11, 1955 at the United Methodist Church in Gilmore City. Daryl and Jeanne made their home in Gilmore City where they farmed and raised their family. Daryl and Jeanne retired from farming in 1994. Daryl and Jeanne also enjoyed their winter home in Tucson, Arizona many years, where they boasted their Tuscan shuffle board championship team status for many years. Daryl and Jeanne were avid travelers and visited all US states, Mexico, Canada, England, Germany, France, Italy, Norway and Sweden. Jeanne and Daryl were married for 55 years before his passing in 2010.
Jeanne was a life long member of the United Methodist Church. Jeanne was an active member of the UMC Women, Ladies Circle, Harnett Johnson Ladies Auxiliary, Past President’s Club, Study Club, and Senior Citizens.
Jeanne was a talented artist and shared her talent with others by assisting in painting a mural in the Gilmore City library, a main street mural and fire hydrant donated for a fundraiser. Jeanne enjoyed writing prose and presenting “lessons” for her church groups. Jeanne also loved decorating the church altar every fall with Nature’s (God’s) bounty. Jeanne was an expert seamstress and quilter and loved gifting her girls with a new piece every Christmas. Jeanne was on a golf and bowling league for many years. Jeanne loved to play cards and in the most recent years, loved going to lunch and having her beer and pizza night with her best friends.
Jeanne is survived her daughters: Linda (Lynn) Hagar, Plainfield, Ill; Brenda Benjamin, Gilmore City; Pat (Don) Cirks, Gilmore City; son, Steve (Teresa) Hutchinson, Humboldt, Iowa; grandchildren: Andrea (Onik) Bhattacharyya, Allison (AJ) Deferville , Brad (Keri) Benjamin, Jessica (Alex) Veren, Aaron (Kyle) Olson, Cassidy (Bryan) Geha, Emmett Utley and 11 great grandchildren. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Daryl, her parents, brothers Dean Peters and Leo Peters, son-in-law, David Benjamin and great grandson Brooks Geha.

She attended the local rural school through eighth grade, attended Manson High School and graduated in 1945. She then worked as a typist at Tobin’s in Fort Dodge before her marriage to Raymond (Bud) Ricklefs on October 26, 1947. They farmed the family farm east of Gilmore City and raised their three children there. Raymond passed away August 1, 1966. Evelyn, with the help of the boys, continued to farm. In 1971, on August 7, she married Duro Oberhelman. They combined their farms and enjoyed working together, retiring in 1986, moving to Gilmore City in 1997. They continued to enjoy traveling, fishing trips, and visiting family.Duro passed away February 14, 2006. Evelyn continued to travel, enjoying family trips to St. Thomas, Alaska, San Diego, Mesa, Arizona, and her favorite, to Hawaii to celebrate her 85th birthday. Evelyn loved and enjoyed her family, fishing, playing cards, and crocheting. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church, a member of the Rachel Circle, and also a member of the Senior Citizens and the OK Card Club.Evelyn is survived by her children, Dennis (Carol) Ricklefs (Mesa, Arizona & Brainerd, Minnesota), DeWayne (Becky) Ricklefs (Fulshear, Texas & Atwater, Minnesota), and Deanne (Jon Paulson) Ricklefs (Humboldt, Iowa). Evelyn Oberhelman, age 96 of Gilmore City, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024 at the Paula J. Barber Hospice House in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the First Lutheran Church in Gilmore City. Burial will take place at St. John's Lizard Township Cemetery in Palmer, Iowa. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until service time at the church. Services will be live streamed on Lentz Funeral Home's website: https://www.hdezwebcast.com/show/evelyn-oberhelman. Evelyn Joan Abens, daughter of Heike and Alma (Hinricks) Abens, was born May 12, 1928 on a farm near Palmer, Iowa. She attended the local rural school through eighth grade, attended Manson High School and graduated in 1945. She then worked as a typist at Tobin’s in Fort Dodge before her marriage to Raymond (Bud) Ricklefs on October 26, 1947. They farmed the family farm east of Gilmore City and raised their three children there. Raymond passed away August 1, 1966. Evelyn, with the help of the boys, continued to farm. In 1971, on August 7, she married Duro Oberhelman. They combined their farms and enjoyed working together, retiring in 1986, moving to Gilmore City in 1997. They continued to enjoy traveling, fishing trips, and visiting family.
Duro passed away February 14, 2006. Evelyn continued to travel, enjoying family trips to St. Thomas, Alaska, San Diego, Mesa, Arizona, and her favorite, to Hawaii to celebrate her 85th birthday. Evelyn loved and enjoyed her family, fishing, playing cards, and crocheting. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church, a member of the Rachel Circle, and also a member of the Senior Citizens and the OK Card Club.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Dennis (Carol) Ricklefs (Mesa, Arizona & Brainerd, Minnesota), DeWayne (Becky) Ricklefs (Fulshear, Texas & Atwater, Minnesota), and Deanne (Jon Paulson) Ricklefs (Humboldt, Iowa). Also step daughter Sally (Jim) Veenstra, (Clinton, Iowa) and step daughter in law Lois (Rick) Bragg (Novi, Michigan).
