William "Bill" Green - November 18, 1972 - March 13, 2024

Departed: 03/13/2024 (Soddy-Daisy)
Obituary Preview: William "Bill" Green, 51, of Hixson passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024. He is survived by his soulmate and wife of 14 years, Rachel Smith Green; their four beautiful children: Cooper, Carter, Baleigh, and Zachary Green of Hixson; his loving parents, Faye and Shelby Green of Rossville, Georgia; a sweet sister, Laura Green; 10 beloved nieces and nephews; and a large extended family.
Bill grew up in Hixson, where he spent idyllic Saturday afternoons fishing with his dad, embarking on adventures with neighborhood friends, and playing Little League baseball. As a 10-year-old boy, he accepted Christ as his Savior and began nurturing a faith that sustained him throughout his lifetime.
In 2009, he walked into Glen Gene Deli on his lunch break to order a cheeseburger with mustard only and met the love of his life, Rachel. They married six months later and together they built a beautiful life filled with love and laughter.
A doting Daddy, Bill cherished every moment with his four precious children. Cooper, Carter, Baleigh, and Zachary are blessed to have had the most wonderful Daddy in the world.
A jovial sweetheart, Bill's favorite hobby was having fun. When he wasn't cracking jokes or playing around with his kids, you could usually find him cuddling his faithful companion—a beloved Chihuahua named Winnie.
This shocking loss has shattered his family's hearts. Their only solace is knowing that his glorified body is no longer in pain and that they will be reunited with him one day. Until then, they are sustained by the precious memories and enormous love he left behind.

Beverly Denise Burch - February 20, 1979 - March 03, 2024

Departed: 03/03/2024 (Soddy-Daisy)
Obituary Preview: Beverly Denise Burch
It is with great sadness that the family of Beverly Denise Burch announces the news of her passing on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at her home in Soddy-Daisy, TN. She was 45.
The only thing more immense than the size of the hole her absence will leave in the hearts of all who loved her, is the wonder of the many precious memories we’ll share of one of the sweetest, kindest, gentlest souls any of us has ever known. Bev was a beautiful woman, inside and out, and her ability and willingness to empathize with people and animals in pain was a true gift from God.
Young children gravitated to Bev, and her young nieces and nephews loved nothing more than to gather around her to giggle and watch funny or sweet animal videos Bev would find to show them. Bev was always the one adult the kids would beg to go outside to play with them and, of course, she was always more than happy to make THEM happy.
Like both of her parents and step-dad, Bev craved the excitement of taking in extraordinary scenery in each of the countless travel adventures she enjoyed with family, and one of her favorite adventures was being bold enough to try the new and sometimes exotic dishes that the rest of us were too chicken to try. Her step-dad eventually took to saying, “I’ll have what Bev is having,’cause I know it’s probably gonna taste the best.” The hikes with her father, whose consistent hope that they’d come across a snake while they were out and about always tickled her. Beverly never saw a rock or crystal she didn’t like, either. Her collection wasn’t huge, but the geology nerd in her cherished every one of them. She also had a particularly soft spot for animals of all kinds, and they loved her in return. Animals can sense the best and kindest people, and so often the scared, hungry and needy ones would somehow find Bev and naturally, she’d take them in.
The last month of Bev’s precious life were spent being a kind and wonderful caretaker to her beloved mother and step-dad.
Beverly Burch attended Soddy-Daisy High School, Chattanooga State Community College and Northwest Georgia College and was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Hixson.
Bev was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, James E. Deifenderfer and paternal grandmother, Irene S. Burch.
Beverly is survived immediately by her heartbroken parents, Susan Deifenderfer Burch Buckner (Joe Buckner), Stanton W. Burch (Debbie Hoffman), and brother, Stanton T. Burch (Jordan Burch) along with many other family and friends who will also dearly miss Bev are her grandmother, Ruth Ann Deifenderfer, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends, as well as her longtime friend and former companion for 20 years, Robb Giarrizzo.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Legacy Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Deifenderfer and Rev. Calvin Nunley officiating. Burial will follow at Mt Pleasant Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 4 p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home.

Robert Lewis Davis - August 19, 1966 - February 21, 2024

Departed: 02/21/2024 (Soddy-Daisy)
Obituary Preview: Robert Lewis Davis, 57, passed away at home unexpectedly on February 21, 2024.
Rob was born on August 19, 1966 in Chattanooga, TN to Virginia Faye Lively and Neil Herbert Davis. Being a preemie, he was named “Most Beautiful Baby”, a fact he was very proud of, and his picture was in the paper.
Rob played football for the Ooltewah Owls and graduated in 1985. Like most Chattanoogans, he bagged groceries at Red Food Store and enjoyed hanging out with his friends, tagging along with his older brother and cousins, and working on cars.
He became a “self-proclaimed” Volkswagen Beetle expert and enthusiast at a young age and owned many Bugs over the years. The last one he bought was a vintage 1956 that he had every intention of restoring…. Until he met a feisty, red-headed Yankee girl and parked it in the basement garage. (A tale as old as time..)
With his “Yes Ma’am” southern charm, Rob sweet talked Janet into packing up her 3 small children and moving to his beloved city. He traded his pick-up for a mini van and never looked back.
Rob married Janet on March 13, 2004 at a chapel in Gatlinburg and had himself an instant family. 2 years later he knew he’d met his match when he met an even feistier red-head, his daughter Gracie was born.
Rob worked at Johnson Controls in fire protection for almost 20 years. He was funny, kind, generous, and a little bit argumentative, but a hard working guy with ingenuity and mad handyman skills.
He was very proud of all four of his smart and talented kids, adored his wife, and loved being a husband, father and Pop Pop more than anything else in the world.
Rob is survived by his adoring wife Janet and their children, Daniel Freeman and his wife Betsy Fontes Freeman, Jenna Freeman Snow, Joseph Freeman, and Gracie Davis; grandchildren Adelaide Patricia Snow, Emelia Lee Snow and Wiles Augustus Fontes Freeman; his brother James Davis and his wife Karen, niece Candice, and nephew Kris, aunts, uncles, cousins and so very many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Vickie Miles.
A celebration of life for Rob will be held on Sunday, March 3rd, 5:30 pm at Greenway Farms Conference Center, 4960 Gann Store Rd, Hixson, TN 37343. All are welcome to come and share memories, food and fellowship.
If you’d like to make a donation in his honor, please consider enjoying Bug-A-Palooza this year at Camp Jordan in East Ridge on April 13th & 14th, benefiting the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Find Dr. Fieldinggood, and tell him you’re there for Rob.
Yes, the '56 Bug is still in the basement, and no, it is NOT for sale.
