We are grateful to have known such a wonderful and loving woman, who, by her example, showed us how to love and treat others as Christ did.
Marcy left school in 9th grade for work to help her parents provide for her eight younger siblings. She had a passion for helping children. This passion led her to her profession as a Teacher's Assistant at William B Travis Elementary School in Dallas, Tx. All seven children attended school there. Marcy loved her job and was dedicated to it. DISD allowed her to continue her education. She received her GED as well as her Associates degree. Her strong work ethic left an indelible mark on those who had the pleasure of knowing her. She retired after 27 years.
Outside of work, Marcy enjoyed cooking, watching telenovelas, Dallas Cowboys, singing and B-I-N-G-0...BINGO! She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and celebrating special occasions and holidays with her extended family. Family members could expect an early morning phone call from her singing Las Mananitas on their birthday. They would also purposely not answer the phone so that the call may be saved in voicemail.
Marcy was preceded in death by her parents, Tomas and Juanita Sifuentes; her first husband of 25 years, Albert Lopez; her second husband of 20 years, Gilbert Sanchez; her brothers, Antonio Sifuentes, Leobardo Sifuentes, Alejandro Sifuentes and sister Nelda Molina.
She is survived by her children, Mary Ann Ybarra and Lawrence Ybarra; Dianna Lopez and Danny Padilla; Albert Lopez and Debra Lopez; Tony Lopez and Alesia Adames; Richard Lopez and Lisa Alonzo Lopez; Raymond Lopez and Michelle Sisneroz; Nelda Lopez and Larry Garcia; Stepchildren, Mary Ann Sanchez; Gilbert Sanchez Jr.; Richard Sanchez and Laura Sanchez. Her siblings, Thomas Sifuentes and Irene Sifuentes; Leopoldo Sifuentes; Juan Sifuentes and Delia Sifuentes; Robert Sifuentes and Roberta Sifuentes. Sister in laws, Carmen Sifuentes; Terri Sifuentes; and Anita Sifuentes. Brother in law, Juan Molina. She is also survived by 36 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. She has a great-great grandson due in October. She also leaves behind numerous family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Marcy's humor, generosity, and unwavering love, touched, countless hearts. Though she may no longer be beside us physically, her spirit will continue to guide us all. In her memory, let us drive to find joy in the small things as Marcey did, and extend a helping hand to those in need.
