William "Bill" F. Neiert - December 22, 1954 - April 30, 2024

Departed: 04/30/2024 (Lake Geneva)
Obituary Preview: William “Bill” F. Neiert, 69, of Lake Geneva, WI, passed away unexpectedly on April 30, 2024. This loss was a shock to his family, leaving us deeply saddened by the sudden departure of a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
Bill was fortunate to find his soulmate, Kimberlee “Kim,” at a young age, and they shared 45 years of marriage. They raised their children Katie (Travis) Forsman and Matthew (Kayleigh) Neiert in Crystal Lake, IL, before embracing the tranquility of retired lake life. Bill adored his five grandchildren, finding immense joy in every moment spent together. He will be profoundly missed by Landon, Ridge, Ophelia, Sage, and Lorelei.
Bill enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, like reading a good book, a solid afternoon nap on the couch, or fishing out on the lake. He loved a quiet night at home with Kim and time spent with his grandkids. Bill was a culinary master with the meat smoker and enjoyed cooking a delicious meal. More often than not, Bill could be found at the driving range or on the golf course. He was an avid golfer and passed that love on to his son and grandson, Landon. When asked how he would describe Bill, Landon said, “strong-minded,” and there’s no better way to say it. Bill was true to himself and his values. We will greatly miss his generally chill and quiet but strong presence.
Bill was born in Ohio and spent his childhood in Cincinnati. His career was in the commercial HVAC industry, and he slowly retired over the last few years from RAM Mechanical Services, Inc. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Patricia (Charles) Moorhead and Robert Neiert, and sister, Sharon. He is survived by his sister, Barbara (William) Maron, and her four children.
We invite you to join us in celebrating Bill's life on Sunday, May 19, 2024, between 1 and 4 p.m. at Delbrook Golf Club in the Connie Schulte Pavilion, located at 700 S 2nd Street, Delavan, WI 53115. In keeping with Bill's laid-back nature, the celebration of life will be an informal and casual event. We will also take a moment to honor Bill's love for golf by hitting balls at Delbrook's driving range.
If you wish to honor Bill’s memory, please donate to a charity of your choice.

Joseph T. Colla - March 13, 1944 - March 31, 2024

Departed: 03/31/2024 (Lake Geneva)
Obituary Preview: Joseph T. Colla, Age 80 Years. Longtime Resident of Milwaukee, Mequon and Currently of Andrews, North Carolina. Passed to eternal life surrounded by his 3 girls on Sunday March 31, 2024. Joe was born on March 13, 1944 in Milwaukee to Alfred and Josephine (Nee D’Acquisto). Beloved husband for 58 years of Judith (Nee Enbring). Proud and loving Father of Jennifer (Greg) Jung and Stephanie (Darren) McRae. Devoted PaPa Joe of Dillon and Nolan McRae and step grandfather of Cory and Mathew Jung. Brother of Thomas (Joan), JoAnn (John) Kubowicz, Alfred (Diane) and Christopher (Dawn). Brother-in-law of Deborah (Mike) Kuklinski. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many wonderful friends.
Above all else, Joe’s life was about family (la Familia). His “girls” Judy, Jenn and Steph and his “boys” Dillon and Nolan (for them he will always be PaPa Joe) were the focus of his being, including all the extended family of Collas, D’Acquistos and Enbrings. Joe’s dry sense of humor, good natured demeanor and overall friendliness endured him to all. Joe’s career path was with the Evinrude Motors Company (Outboard Marine Corp.). He started in 1963 as a machine operator but quickly became a gear technician of note. He moved through the ranks to become a Methods Engineer and eventually the Methods Supervisor at Evinrude. His talents did not go unnoticed by the Corporation where he relocated to the Headquarters in Waukegan, Il and then on to a new manufacturing facility in Andrew NC as the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. Joe retired from OMC in 1999 in Milwaukee, as not only a member of the Commodores Club but also the Admirals.
Joe’s other passion in life was drum and bugle corps. Starting at age 13 as a snare drummer with the Racine Boy Scouts Corps. When the family moved back to Milwaukee in 1961, he joined the Milwaukee Militaries and then the Starlites Corps’. In 1963 he joined the Racine Boys of ‘76 Senior Corps. At this time Joe became interested in joining the ranks of judges for corps contests. He joined the Central States Judges Association out of Chicago, as well as the All-American judge’s association, Wisconsin Chapter and was a founding member of the Federation of Contest Judges. When a new national organization of drum corps, Drum Corps International (DCI) started up in 1972, Joe was selected to be a percussion judge for their contests. That started a long and brilliant relationship as not only a judge at their world championships but working with them on contest management and judge administration. That relationship led to Joe being inducted into the DCI Hall of Fame in 1991.
We would be remiss to not include two other people (and families) that are deep friends of Joe/Judy and his family. Starting with his joining the Racine Scouts at age 13, George Smullen (now Doctor Smullen retired) and then; in Milwaukee, David Richards (fellow DCI judge and Hall of Fame recipient) were more like brothers to Joe than just BFF’s. Friendships that last for over 60 years are not to be taken lightly.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Lumen Christi Catholic Church (2750 W. Mequon Road Mequon, WI 53092) from 11-12 Noon with Mass of Christian Burial at Noon. Private Interment.

What is an obituary?

An obituary is a written notice that announces the death of a person, typically including their name, age, date of birth and death, and a brief biography. It is usually published in a newspaper, online obituary platform, or funeral home website to inform friends, family, and community members of the person's passing.

Why are obituaries important?

Obituaries serve as a way to honor and remember the deceased, while also providing important information to those who need to know about the funeral or memorial service. They also give friends and family an opportunity to share memories and condolences with each other.

Who writes an obituary?

Typically, the obituary is written by the family of the deceased, often with the assistance of a funeral home or obituary writer. In some cases, a friend or colleague may also write an obituary.

What information should be included in an obituary?

A standard obituary usually includes the person's name, age, date of birth and death, place of residence, occupation, education, hobbies, and surviving family members. It may also include information about the funeral or memorial service, as well as any charitable donations or organizations that the family would like to support in lieu of flowers.
