Virginia L. Glasgow - February 26, 1953 - April 30, 2024

Departed: 04/30/2024 (Beaver Dam)
Obituary Preview: Virginia L. Glasgow, age 71, died Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at the Charleston House in Beaver Dam. Surrounded by her children and grandchildren on a sunny afternoon, she slipped peacefully into the arms of her Savior and Lord.
Visitation for Ginny will be at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Beaver Dam on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church on Friday beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Fr. Will Arnold officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
Virginia Lea was born on February 26, 1953, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to George and Ruth (Meyer) Bromberek. She graduated from Beaver Dam High school in 1971, and married Keith Glasgow in 1973. The couple spent the next 51 years together in Beaver Dam, raising 5 children who blessed them with 20 grandchildren, and working together with her husband in their mom & pop photography business.
Survivors include her husband, Keith Glasgow; five children, Elizabeth (Steven) Luedtke, Kate (Chad) Olsen, Ellie (Peter) Frey, Timothy Glasgow, and Samuel Glasgow; 20 grandchildren, Abraham, Abbey, Evelyn, Sadie, Simeon Pio, Eden, Miriam, Issac, Lilly, Oliver, Henry, Adeline, Hazel, Caleb, Elijah, Madelyne, Leah, Cameron, Cecilia, and Peter; six brothers and sisters, Linda Lister, John Bromberek, Georgia (Michael) Smith, Janet La Martina, Mary Bromberek, and Mark (Theresa) Bromberek; other relatives and friends. Ginny was preceded in death by her parents.
Ginny packed a lot of love, life and selfless service into her 71 years on earth. She loved her family fiercely, but with a kind and gentle demeanor that always extended outward to others. She home- schooled all her children well before it became a popular alternative, teaching them the value and blessing of work, how to serve, and most importantly, how to love the Lord. Like the woman in Proverbs 31, “...she watched over the ways of her household, and did not eat of the bread of idleness”. They say the proof is in the pudding. Each of her beloved children exhibit aspects of her love and character as they raise their families, and press forward in life. She made good pudding.
Before the age of 21, she caught the spark of the pro-life movement. In addition to volunteering with Wisconsin Right to Life, and Pro-Life Wisconsin for a number of years, she joined a steering committee to bring the Pregnancy Support Center of Dodge County into existence. She worked tirelessly with many dedicated people to bring the ministry to life. She studied to become a volunteer counselor, and worked with many young pregnant women in challenging situations, helping them learn the enormous privilege and joy of becoming mothers.
Those of us left behind miss her terribly, but each of us are so proud of the woman she was, the good she accomplished, and the lives she touched. Faith was her motivating force. She was very active in parish life at St. Katharine Drexel. We can envision our Savior greeting her in Paradise - “Well done, good and faithful servant! You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master.” Farewell dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. You will live on in our hearts and precious memories until we meet again. If desired, memorials may be made to Pregnancy Support Center of Dodge County
The family would like to extend their gratitude to all of her family caregivers, Shayla at Marshfield home care, the wonderful people at Bristol Hospice, Stacey at Charleston House, caretaker and new friend Laura. A very special thank you to dear friend Hettie Hankes, for her many hours by Ginny's side providing love, comfort and prayers throughout her last days and hours.

Brian A. Schleicher - Unknown - April 17, 2024

Departed: 04/17/2024 (Beaver Dam)
Obituary Preview: Brian A. Schleicher, age 69, of Beaver Dam, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at his home.
There will be a private graveside service for the family.
Brian Alan was born on June 16, 1954 in Columbus, Wisconsin to Clarence and Victoria (Rake) Schleicher. He grew up working alongside his family on their farm and took great pride in his roots.  After graduating high school, Brian went to work for Rochester Silo Company. He thoroughly enjoyed building silos from the ground up and for many years after, he would point out silos he had built on drives through the country.
On February 14, 1981, Brian was united in marriage with Debra Hays at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. By that time, his hard work at the silo company led to a promotion to foreman; however, building silos was hard on his body and required a lot of travel, so after the birth of his daughter, he made a career change and went to work for the Dodge County Highway Department. Brian spent over twenty years keeping the roads of Dodge County safe by clearing them of snow at all hours of the day and night during the winter and repairing them in the warmer months. He retired from the Highway Department in the early 2000's. After retirement, Brian decided to further his education, and attended Moraine Park Technical College. He had a knack for numbers, which served him well in his return to school, and he received two associates degrees; one in tech support and one in computer networking. Brian joked that he was competing to achieve a higher grade point average than his daughter, who was attending law school at the same time.
Brian played softball and volleyball in his younger years and loved watching any sport on TV. He was a loyal Packer fan and enjoyed time with his brother, Norbert, attending a Badger game every year. Brian had a passion for classic cars and cherished his Pontiac Firebird, which he owned for decades. He also had a great appreciation for a wide variety of music, but Neil Diamond was a particular favorite throughout his life. Brian was a regular attendee at music festivals, including Country USA, Rock USA, Summerfest, and even Nashville's Fanfare. He was beyond thrilled to meet Martina McBride on at least three occasions.
Brian was a very proud father and grandfather. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and neighbors alike. Brian had an infectious laugh and a huge heart, which he often wore on his sleeve. His heart was stolen several years ago by a pug he adopted and named Barney.  Brian was broken-hearted in 2022 when Barney had to be put to sleep, but by then, he had a new Puggle who helped him through the loss of Barney.
Brian is survived by his daughter, Kirsten (fiancé, James Vander Galien) Navarrette; grandchildren, Daetyn and Jabari; former son-in-law, James Navarrette; siblings, Gloria (Tom) Gregor, Ione (Phil) Hausler, Phil (Steve) Schleicher, and Janis (Brian) Neevel; former wife, Debra (Tom) Csiacsek; sisters-in-law, Vickie Schleicher and Karen Schleicher; nieces and nephews; his loyal canine companion, Trouble; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Kurt; brothers, Norbert and Russell; nephew, Benjamin Neevel; and fur babies, Barney, Marty, and Bud.
The family would like to thank Bristol Hospice for the exceptional care and companionship they provided for Brian.
Memorials may be made in Brian Schleicher’s name to Coulee Region Humane Society, which is kindly assisting in finding Trouble a new home.

Violet G. Wolfe - July 07, 1921 - April 11, 2024

Departed: 04/11/2024 (Beaver Dam)
Obituary Preview: Violet G. Wolfe, Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau, at the age of 102.
She was Blessed to be able to live alone, in her own home up until the last few months.
There will be a private funeral service for the family and burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
Violet Geraldine was born on July 7, 1921 in Desoto, Wisconsin to Magnus and Mae (Arneson) Sheldon.  She was baptized and confirmed at Bad Axe Lutheran Church, in Purdy. Violet went to Viroqua High School.
She grew up in Red Mound/rural Desoto and helped her parents on the family farm. She was a very hard worker. She learned to make homemade bread from scratch on the wood-fired stove with her mother, at a very young age.
She met her future husband, Lloyd Wolfe, at a dance on the Moonlight Excursion River Boat on the Mississippi River. They later were married on December 29, 1944 in Gatesville, Texas, (Camp Hood) where he was stationed in the Army before going to WWII. When he returned home, they bought a farm in rural Desoto where they farmed the land, and raised their 2 sons, Jerry and Jimmy.
In 1959 they moved to Beaver Dam. She was employed in the dress department at JCPenney’s.  But being a homemaker was her favorite job of all.
Violet loved God and her family above all else. She was proud of her Norwegian heritage which probably played a big role in her quick wit, good advice, silly quotes, and strong intuitions. She considered herself a "stubborn Norwegian", and loved a good strong cup of "Norwegian coffee". Violet loved to bake, and mastered the craft of baking and beautifully decorating angel food cakes, homemade cream puffs, lefsa, rosettes, and sandbakkels, among many other things. Christmas was always the best tradition with grandma Violet; she always perfectly set the dining room table for the holidays and the aroma of her Oyster Stew was its own Christmas scent.
Violet enjoyed the outdoors and the beautiful things that nature had to offer. She loved flowers, gardening and watching the birds.  She enjoyed spending time with Lloyd at their lakefront cottage in Eagle River, and spend countless hours fishing and enjoying the lake views.
She had a strong faith and was a member of First Lutheran Church since 1959, serving with the ladies’ aid.
Violet truly was a matriarch to her family and you knew that when you went to visit her, you would leave her home with a full belly and a happy heart.
She was happy and proud to have 5 generations in her family. It was fun to sit down with her and listen to her stories of her younger days, her growing up, all the decades of changes she lived through in her 102 years of life. When asked her secret to her long life she answered "hard work, and strong coffee".
She will be deeply missed.
Violet is survived by her children, Jerry (Rosemarie) Wolfe and Jimmy (Cheryl) Wolfe; grandchildren, Renee (Dave) Rindt, Rochelle (Bradley) Oseth, Timothy Wolfe, and Todd Wolfe; great grandchildren, Morgan (Dan) Stivaletta, Colin Smith, Christopher Smith, Dillan Wolfe, and Audika Walker; great-great grandson, Dawson Stivaletta; many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd; and siblings, Leslie Sheldon, Mina Ellefson, Ruth Nerison, and Laurel Sheldon.
The family would like to thank Clearview Nursing Home for the excellent care and support. And a special thank you to Pastor Jim, from First Lutheran Church for his visits, kind words and prayers.

He and his first wife had two children, Lori and Lynette.  On September 28, 1970 he was united in marriage with Rosemary Oelke.  They moved to Beaver Dam in 1970 and had two children, Dan and Jenny.

He was an avid University of Wisconsin Badgers basketball and football, Milwaukee Brewers, and Green Bay Packers fan!  Gary enjoyed watching the games and talking about them, especially football with Jenny and Dan.  When there weren’t sports to watch he enjoyed playing card games and bingo with his friends at the nursing home.
