Obituary Preview: Debra Susan (Sims) Bish (60), better known as Debbie, formerly of Swoyersville, PA passed away on April 27, 2022 surrounded by family after recent health issues. Born on March 18,1962 in Wilkes Barre, PA she was the youngest child and only daughter to the late Herbert Sims (2004) and Laura "Sue" (Zim) Sims (2009). She was part of the 1980 graduating class at Wyoming Valley West High School in Plymouth, PA.
Debbie was formally employed by Toys R Us and Shop Rite of Wilkes-Barre. She enjoyed her puzzles, jewel painting, bowling where she was a member of the 300 club, fishing, collecting Disney Snow globes, and anything having to do with Elvis.
Debbie is now reunited with her daughter Christine Bish (1996), her brother Frank Sims (1999) and her parents.
She is survived by her four children, daughters Jennifer Murley and husband Nicholas of Throop, PA and Allison Bish of Plymouth, PA. Sons Jeffrey Bish and Michael Bish both of Kingston, PA. A granddaughter, Elizabeth Murley of Throop. Along with a sister-in-law, nephews, cousins, and a brother with his wife.
Her children would like to thank the staff of Allied Hospice in Scranton and the Bayada nurses of Wilkes-Barre for their loving care and support they gave Debbie.

Sokolas Jr., Rick Shotwell; daughter, Helena Sokolas (Terri Beamer); granddaughter, Paige; brothers, Thomas and Russell Sokolas; as well as several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, god parents, Jesse and Elene Honeywell. Marcia is survived by her husband of 56 years Dr. Richard Aston and their children, Mark, Joan and Deborah, grandchildren Thomas, Mary, Peter, Clara, Michael, Caroline and Hannah, and by her sisters Cynthia, Margaret, Priscilla and Mary Elizabeth.  She was preceded in death by her brother David.
Marcia worked as a librarian most recently at Kings College and Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.  She was an active member of the Wyoming Valley Presbyterian Church and a committee member of the Osterhout Library.  She was an avid reader who read more than a book a week for most of her life, enjoyed her grandchildren, long walks, her pets and cross stich embroidery.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 22 at Kniffen O'Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, 465 S. Main St. Wilkes-Barre PA 18701. Born March 11, 1953, in Manhattan, NY, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Zeller Myres.
Her bright eyes always stood out from the rest, that in late 1953, she had an honorable mention from Gerber’s for being the most beautiful baby. Growing up in Jamaica Queen’s, Inwood Street. Doloras attended P.S. 160 Queens elementary, Shimer Middle School, John Adams High School, and York College as a music major.
She found her love for music in Middle School where She played flute and the piccolo. in later years, she dabbled with playing the guitar, bongos, drums, and anything else she could bang on. From high school, she worked 37 years as a workmen’s compensation and benefit claims agent at the Arch Diocese Of New York Hospitals.
At the age of 12, Christ was introduced into her life at Brooks Memorial Methodist Church, where she served on the Junior usher board. Her love for the lord never wavered, no matter what. He was first and foremost in her life. Prior to moving to Wilkes-Barre, Brooklyn Tabernacle Church was her church home church. Doloras was most active in service at the annual BBQ gatherings, food drives and holiday plays, where she shined the most.
Always the greatest, animated, detailed story teller, she knew how to grab you and captivate you with her words and body language. She was never ashamed about praising her God, sharing the word, or praying where ever you are. Doloras loved meeting people and learning to gain knowledge, hence the term for her, love thy neighbor. She was an activist for the people whether they liked it or not she loved her community.
Living in Wilkes-Barre, PA, she continued serving the lord at Mount Zion Baptist Church. She loved serving and contributing her time and energy in food prep and talking classes that would elevate her knowledge of God.. You may not have known us, but we knew you and maybe your family through the mountains of pictures and stories. You were her show and tell. She mended and blended two families, and we are honored to be a part of your church home.
Left to cherish her memory are brother, Robert Ryans, Harold Ryan; sister, Cathy Myres, Grociella Myres, and Skyler Myres; a host of nieces and nephews; several cousins.
A home going service will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 10:00 AM, at Mount Zion Baptist Church 105 Hill St. Wilkes Barre, PA 18702. A viewing will be held from 8:00 - 10:00 prior to the service. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Wilkes Barre.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on July 17, 1954, he was a son of the late Nicholas Vollaro.
Michael worked for many years in the printing industry. He loved playing the drums and was an accomplished player.  Michael also enjoyed helping others, he would make beaded jewelry and donate it to the cancer centers to help brighten the other patients’ days.
Left to cherish Michael’s memory are his spouse of 22 years, Alfred Adams; companion of 45 years, Thomas Pietrowski and his close friend, Daniel Zacharias.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Bruce Saidman and the nurses that made Michael feel like family during his time with them.

Jane loved organizing and running the class reunions for Myers High School and spending time with her family at Long Beach Island, NJ.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 40 years, Lawrence “Larry” Hirel; daughter, Kimberly Hayes and husband, Marcus; grandchildren, Ava Ryzner and Cooper Hayes and cousins, Donald and Carl Rau.

Karen graduated from Wilkes University with her Bachelor's degree in the Arts. In her early years, she was an equestrian, with her horse "Thee Day". She married her best friend and the love of her life, George, in 1978. Together they raised 3  talented children. Karen loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a retired art teacher for Wilkes Barre Twp. Jr. High School. During her time as a teacher, she was  a driving force bringing boys soccer to G.A.R. school district. She attended classes at Penn State, becoming a Master Gardener, caring for her over 150 orchids. She was also a former cub scouts den mother  She later became an assistant activities coordinator at River Street Manor. Karen will be sadly missed but greatly remembered for the strong, amazing woman she was.
In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Grace Willis. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 43 years, George J. Willis Jr.; sons, George J. Willis III, Wilkes Barre, Geoffrey Willis (Donna), Warrior-Run; daughter, Kate Lapinski (Aleks), New Tripoli; grandchildren, Ava Willis, Luke Willis, Natalie Willis, Nathanial Lapinski, and another baby boy Lapinski on the way; a brother, David Poli (Karen), NJ. Hazel was a beloved mother and grandmother, always supportive of her family, encouraged independence while retaining a core of family first, no matter the distance. She took great pride in her children and grandchildren and will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish her memory are sons, Albert J. Granda Jr. (Carol), Hammonton NJ, Michael J. Granda (Charmaine) Wilkes Barre; daughter, Mary E.Harrison, Wilkes Barre PA/Tehachapi CA, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren; sisters, Lucille Blizzard, Noxen, Florence Coolbaugh, Harding, Jewel Malloy, Wilkes Barre; as well as several nieces and nephews.
