Obituary Preview: AUSTINTOWN – Edward Emil Bielik Sr., 90, passed away Wednesday morning, April 20, 2022, at Austintown Healthcare Center, after a long and fulfilling life.
Edward was born April 19, 1932, in Youngstown, a son of the late Emil and Anna Yanchar Bielik and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a 1950 graduate of Chaney High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Ed worked for U.S. Steel as a boilermaker for many years and retired in 1977. After retiring, Ed enjoyed volunteering at the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry.
Edward was a member of the former Holy Name of Jesus Church and was currently a member of St. Brendan Church in Youngstown.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 48 years, Nancy Remedio Flinn Bielik, whom he married August 30, 1973. His two daughters, Annette Bielik (Kathryn Sharp) of Elkland, Missouri and Denise Smith of Ravenna; two step daughters, Jannette (Rick) Koewacich of Youngstown, and Linda Wiery of Poland; two step sons, Michael (Pam) Flinn of Minerva, and John Flinn of Austintown; a son-in-law, Jerry Seidita of Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Ed will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A son, Edward E. Bielik Jr., a daughter Paulette Seidita, three brothers John, Emil and Frank Bielik and his former wife, Mary Jane Chance Bielik preceded Ed in death.
Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, April 25, 2022, at St. Brendan Church, 2800 Oakwood Ave, Youngstown, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.

Arthur was born July 17, 1962, in Camden, New Jersey, a son of the late Robert and Pearl Antolini Rose and came to the area as a child.
Arthur worked as a teamster truck driver for various companies in the area for many years and he owned and operated his own tree service.
He greatly enjoyed sports and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns. Arthur loved motorcycles, and working on cars but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Raelene Williams Rose, whom he married November 20, 2021. His daughter, Khloe Holmes of Boardman; a granddaughter, Scarlett; three grandsons, Phillip, Mackenzie and Tony; two sisters, Carol Hall of Youngstown, Ethel “Rose” (Aubin) Rivera of Canfield ; four stepchildren, Dawna, Phillip, Megan and Paul, and many nieces and nephews.
Art will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

She was a 1986 graduate of The Rayen School and worked at Fresh Mark as a meatcutter until she retired in 2011.
She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Keena leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Austin Bartley, a sister, Patricia Larew, and a brother, Tom Baird, all of Youngstown, and several nieces and nephews.
She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her husband, Eddie Kemble, whom she married November 3, 2008, passed away April 20, 2014.

Obituary Preview: BOARDMAN – William Earl Skebo, 87, passed away peacefully, Thursday evening, April 18, 2022, at St. Mary’s Alzheimer Center in Columbiana.
William was born March 13, 1935, in Youngstown, a son of the late Joseph and Barbara Vasko Skebo and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and worked as a forklift operator for Stambaugh Thompson until he retired in 1997.  After retirement, Bill worked part time, for St. Stephen of Hungary Church and Shepherd of the Valley in maintenance.
Mr. Skebo was a member of Holy Apostles Parish, St. Stephen of Hungary Church where he sang in the choir and was a member of the Holy Name Society.
William loved gardening, raising dahlias and vegetables.  He enjoyed wood working and also restored statues for several churches in the area.
He leaves to cherish his memory, three children, David W. (Michele) Skebo of Hubbard, Catherine (Brian) Finnerty of Poland, and Patricia (Harry) Johnson of Lakewood; eight grandchildren, Allison and Emily Skebo, Sean (Jenna) Finnerty, Lauren (Andrew) Galusha, Thomas (Kristin) Finnerty, Leah Finnerty, Erika and Matthew Johnson; one great-grandson, Patrick Finnerty; a brother, Joseph (Kay) Skebo of Canfield and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
William will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
His wife of 64 years, Dorothy I. Magda Skebo, whom he married June 8, 1957, passed away February 4, 2022.
A brother, Robert Skebo, two sisters, Mary Gondor, and Suzanne Hatala also preceded Bill in death.
Family and friends may gather to pay respects from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022, at Holy Apostles Parish, St. Stephen of Hungary Church 854 Wilson Ave., Youngstown, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown where Bill will be laid to rest next to his wife, Dorothy.
Bill’s family wishes to thank the staff of St. Mary’s Alzheimer Center for their excellent care given to Bill throughout his time there.

Betty was born July 24, 1946, in Wheeling, West Virginia, a daughter of the late George and Ruth Moss Milliken, and came to the Youngstown area as a young lady.
Betty graduated from Sherrard High School and worked as an office manager for several companies throughout her life.
Betty is survived by her son, Michael McNinch of Poland; a daughter, Melinda McNinch-Smith of Wheeling, W.VA.; and a grandson, Connor McNinch of Poland; three sisters, Tonia Wood, Diana Armstrong, and Patty Chess and a brother, Jimmy Sells, all of Wheeling.
She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her husband, Ray Gregory, passed away December 23, 2016.
Services will be held at Mt. View Cemetery in Dallas, W.VA., at a later date.

Eleanor was born July 28, 1934, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Stephen J. and Anne Kurjan Koker, and lived in the area all of her life.
Eleanor was a 1952 graduate of Chaney High School and worked as a payroll clerk for Southside Hospital, from where she retired.
She was a member of Holy Apostles Parish, SS. Peter and Paul Church and was active in many church functions. Most of all, Eleanor enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Eleanor is survived by her sister, Carolyn (Robert) Stricko of Austintown; a brother-in-law, Thomas Klempay of Canfield and several nieces and nephews.
She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her husband of 48 years, Joseph Melago, whom she married August 29, 1969, passed away January 15, 2018.
A brother, Raymond Koker, and two sisters, Virginia Mancini and Dorothy Klempay also preceded Eleanor in death.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Calvary Cemetery Chapel 248 S. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown.
The family would like to thank the staff of Austin Woods Nursing Center and Crossroads Hospice for their compassionate care.

Dawn was born September 23, 1978, in Youngstown, a daughter of John and Beatrice Cappitte Arnold and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a 1997 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and worked in accounting for Hills Department store for a short time.
Dawn was of the Catholic Faith, and she enjoyed caring for her family and  her animals. She especially loved her side kick, Mimi, her beloved dog.
Dawn leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Beatrice Arnold of Youngstown, and a brother, Eric Arnold of Youngstown.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She departed this earth to be with her family and animals.
Her father, John Arnold, her Grandma and Grandpa Cappitte and Grandma Arnold, preceded Dawn in death.

She was a 1989 graduate of Leonard Kirtz school.
Cherie worked at the Burdman Group at Youngstown State University for many years, Gallaghers Lunch Bucket and most recently, Cherie worked at No Limits Cafe.
Miss Kent was a member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church in Youngstown.
She participated in the Mahoning County Special Olympics and loved animals, especially her beloved cat’s, Sunshine and Feta.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Jacquelyn Leson; two uncles, William Campy, who was like a father to her, and  Eugene Campy, and many cousins and extended family members.
Cherie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her stepfather, Andrew Leson, and grandparents, Michael and Charlotte Campy preceded Cherie in death.

Obituary Preview: YOUNGSTOWN - Anna Lee Hripko, 95, was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, after a brief illness.
Anna was born March 18, 1927, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late John W. and Kristina Dutko Kozak and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a graduate of South High School and then attended beauty school. Anna worked as a hairstylist for McKelvey’s Beauty Salon for over 20 twenty years while raising and caring for her family.
Anna married Stephen M. Hripko on September 3, 1945 and spent 39 years together before his passing on April 27, 1985.
Mrs. Hripko was a lifelong member of St. Christine Church and the Infant of Prague Ministry. Anna was also a member of the rosary group at St. Joseph the Provider Church in Campbell.
She enjoyed baking and was well known for her fabulous pizzelles and kolachi. Anna had a great passion for life and her family, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her family and the many memories they made together.
Anna leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, JoAnn Leach of Youngstown; her son, Stephen J. (Ericka) Hripko of Mineral Ridge; four grandchildren, LeeAnn Batterby, Amy (Jim) Hoza, Alexa (Justin) Vinkler and Stephen R. Hripko; four great grandchildren, J.D. Batterby, Jamie (Frank) Gray, Daniel Hoza and Eliana Vinkler; three great-great grandchildren, Camden Batterby, Blake Gray and Darren Sims and many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Anna will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A sister, Irene Mikula, a brother, John Kozak and a brother-in-law, Emil Mikula also preceded Anna in death.

Steve was born August 8,1929, in Youngstown, a son of the late Gabriel and Mary Lechman Shaffo and was a lifelong Youngstown west sider.
He retired from US Steel Corp Ohio Works.
Mr. Shaffo was a member of the former Holy Name of Jesus Church.
Steve enjoyed racing homing pigeons and was a member of The Original Pigeon and the Youngstown and Warren Pigeon Clubs. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and greatly enjoyed the time he spent with his family.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 49 years, Joanne Kassan Shaffo, whom he married June 2, 1972. A son, George (Judi) Lesnansky of Boardman; four grandchildren, Adam (Tiffany) Lesnansky, Alana, Stefan and Eden Lesnansky and two great grandchildren, Autumn and Adam.
Steve will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Besides his parents, eight siblings preceded Steve in death.

She was a graduate of Shanksville High School and worked at Eberth Catering and Gorant Candies while raising and  caring for her family.
Mrs. Smith was a member of St. Brendan Church in Youngstown.
She enjoyed visiting casinos, cooking, listening to country music, playing corn hole and spending time in Mill Creek Park. Most of all, Pat enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren.
Patricia leaves to cherish her memory, five children, Jackie (Chris) Costanzo of Columbiana, John (Brenda) Smith of Canfield, Darlene (Mike) Donatelli of Lowellville, Daniel (Karey) Smith of Perrysburg and Barry (Andrea) Smith of Youngstown; 13 grandchildren, Christopher, Maria, Jason, Michael, Nicholas, Amanda, David, Bradley, Britnee, Noel, Taylor, Daniel and Mackenzie, and many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Her husband, John C. Smith, whom she married July 28, 1962, passed away January 1, 2007.
A granddaughter Megan, six brothers, Charles, Paul, Howard Jr., Elwood, Kenneth, and Richard Williams, and two sisters, June Hamerick and Betty Huey also preceded Patricia in death.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2022, and from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2022  at Kinnick Funeral Home 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at the funeral home and continue with a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. at St. Brendan Church 2800 Oakwood Ave., Youngstown.

He was a 1982 graduate of Chaney High School and attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
Bill worked as a graphic artist and designer with Ira Thomas Associates, as an art director with both Continental Communications and Smiley Hanchulak Inc. of Akron, and also worked as an auto detailer with Final Faze Auto Detailing.
Mr. Czifra was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
Bill enjoyed the outdoors and camping in the Smoky Mountains.  He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and enjoyed watching football.  He enjoyed grilling steaks and truly enjoyed his annual “Bacon Fries” with family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 32 years, Evelyn Kovach Czifra, whom he married August 26, 1989. A daughter Stacia Czifra (fiancé Joshua Kogut)of Aurora; three brothers, Louis Czifra of Youngstown, David (Julie) Czifra of Butler, PA., and Mark (Cathy) Czifra of Fairfax, VA.; a sister, MaryBeth Czifra of Austintown; a brother in-law, Vince Kovach of Boardman, and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
William will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Karen worked as an accounts payable clerk with the PharMor Company until its closing in 1984. She later went to work at Glorious Homes Waterproofing.
Karen truly loved being a wife, mother and grandmother and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 51 years, George Olinik, whom she married September 19, 1970. Her son, Christopher G. (Kristy) Olinik of Austintown; five grandchildren, Austin, Brianna, Kayla, Karly and Christopher and many extended family members.
A brother, Tim L. Blake, and a sister, Phyllis Blake preceded Karen in death.

Mr. VanDyke proudly served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1965.
He worked for 25 years at Tee Nee Trailer Company and retired in 1988.
Bill was a member of Galilee Apostolic Church in Austintown and he and his wife were foster parents to many area children.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Dorothy D. Ervin VanDyke, whom he married February 8, 1965. A son, William J. (Teresa) VanDyke of McDonald; three grandchildren, Ashley (Nick) Kellar, Krystle (Frank) Natoli and William J. VanDyke III; five great grandchildren, Audra, Victor, Talia, Pixie, Anika and one “on the way”; a godson, David Storey (friend Sabrina) whom he raised as his own; four sisters, Delores Mastro of Boardman, Florence Takacs of Austintown, Ruthie (Larry) Baltes of Austintown and Eleanor Martin of Boardman, and many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
William will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Genevieve, who was affectionately known as Jean was born January 5, 1925 in Johnstown, PA., a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Kupyar Korda and came to the Youngstown Area as a child.
In her younger days, Jean worked at a steel mill, the former Elites Restaurant and Plaza Donuts, before dedicating her life to raising and caring for her family.
She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Youngstown.
Jean was also a member of the Ladies Auxilary at ITAM Post 3 where she volunteered her time helping with spaghetti dinners. She was also a volunteer with the American Red Cross. Jean enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, walking in Mill Creek Park and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son Frank (Kathy) Edwards of Norwalk; three daughters Kathy Mancuso of Stanton, TX., Linda Hyland of Boardman and Nicholeen (David) Hatfield with whom she made her home. 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Genevieve will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends may gather to pay respects from 9 to 10:45 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2022, at Kinnick Funeral Home 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown. Funeral services will begin at 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home and continue with a Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated, by Jean’s nephew, Rev. J. James Korda, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Church 1410 Oak Hill Ave. Youngstown.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.

She was a 1984 graduate of Chaney High School and earned an associate's degree from Youngstown State University.
She worked for Phar-Mor, Nemenz Food Stores and most recently, Roth Brothers.
She was of the Catholic faith.
Denise loved life and she never let her illness stop her. She enjoyed visiting casinos, traveling and playing computer games. She loved planting flowers and working outdoors. Denise was also crafty and enjoyed making centerpieces and other floral arrangements. Most of all, she loved animals, especially her dog, Aria.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Donna Smolko, with whom she made her home; a brother, David Smolko of Columbus; nephew, Michael Smolko, a niece, Emily Smolko and her beloved dog, Aria.
Denise will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Obituary Preview: SHEFFIELD LAKE - Mary Ann Morris - Lewis, 78, passed away Monday evening, April 4, 2022 at Ames Family Hospice in Westlake following a courageous battle with cancer.
Mary Ann was born September 20, 1943 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late John Charles Terzak and Katie Jamicic Terzak and lived most of her life in Mahoning County until moving to Sheffield Lake in 2019.
She was a 1961 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School. Mary Ann worked as a medical transcriber for most of her life with St. Elizabeth Health Center. She later earned her bachelors and masters degrees online in criminal justice and psychology. After earning her degree, she worked for various halfway houses as a social justice warrior.
Mrs. Lewis was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Sheffield Lake and a former member of St. Michael Church in Canfield.
She was very proud to be the first Youngstown Vindicator Spelling Bee champion, and was also an accomplished pianist and author, writing and publishing 3 books.
Mary Ann will always be remembered as a true fighter for her many battles she fought against cancer throughout her life.
A wonderful wife, mother and care giver, Mary Ann leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, William “Bill” Lewis, whom she married May 29, 2019. Three sons, David V. (Sandra) Morris of Palm Harbor, FL., Thomas E. Morris of Stow, and John J. (Beverly) Morris of Cattlesburg, KY; two grandchildren, Emily C. And Daniel S. Morris; her sister, Rose Marie Baker of Boardman; two step-sons, Mark and Mike Lewis,  and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Mary Ann will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her first husband, Ronald E. Morris, whom she married February 20, 1965 passed away October 10, 2015. A son, Steven Michael Morris, a brother Joseph Stanley Terzak, three daughters in law, Rachel Morris, Lisa Morris and Tammy Morris, and a brother in law Dale Baker also preceded Mary Ann in death.
Family and friends may gather to pay respects from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Kinnick Funeral Home 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown where a funeral service will take place at 1:30 p.m.

Charlotte was born October 2, 1937 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Myrtle Briggs Lewis Burdick and Charles Burdick and grew up in Niles.
She was a 1957 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and briefly worked as a telephone Operator with Ohio Bell before dedicating her life to raising and caring for her family.
Mrs. Leonard was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown.
Charlotte greatly enjoyed painting ceramics and would often gift her wares to family and friends.  Visiting casinos and the annual trip to Las Vegas with her husband was one of her favorite past times. She enjoyed bowling, and playing cards and belonged to several card clubs and bowling leagues with her friends. Charlotte was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, the Pittsburgh Steelers and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Family and friends were very important to Charlotte and she enjoyed keeping in touch through email, and would often send jokes as she had a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed cooking for her family and loved to host parties, each year, Charlotte would host a Super Bowl Party and a Christmas Eve celebration which were planned months in advance.
Most of all, Charlotte loved her grandchildren and she especially enjoyed watching them grow and thrive.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 62 years, Paul Leonard, whom she married September 12, 1959. Two daughters, Patricia (Larry) Mealy of Liberty Township and Bonnie (Keith) Zuccala of New Fairfield, CT.; Five grandchildren, Jessica (Bill) Quittenton, Jeremy (Nichole) Davis, Jason (Jana) Davis, and Zachary and Lilly Charlotte Zuccala; five great grandchildren, Emerie, Sullivan, Jason Jr., Jocelyn and Kian, and many extended family members and many friends.

Gregory was born May 19, 1949 in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, the only child of the late Wilfred and Marie Becker.
Father Becker was a graduate from St. Vladimir Seminary in New York, his first assignment was in Niagara Falls, New York. In the early 1980's, he moved to Warren, Ohio where he was a priest at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church for over 20 years. He then served as a substitute priest for St. Elias Orthodox in Jamestown, New York. Currently, he was a member and choir director of Saints Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Youngstown.
While at Saints Peter and Paul, he was instrumental in starting the adult bible study, started the blessing of pets and was active in all stewardship projects of the church also.
He was also a member and former president of the MacIntosh User Group, formed in the mid 1980's. Father Becker led an excursion to MacIntosh Seminars, in Boston and New York, creating numerous musical church selections.
He leaves to cherish his memory, three children, Justin, Ana and Maria; a grandson Seamus; his Saints Peter & Paul Church family; his care giver, Tom Drabick, and his beloved dog, Rumor.
Family and friends may call from noon to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 4, 2022, at Saints Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm.

Elisabeth leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, David (Kathi) Williams of Canfield and Dr. Marc S. (Julie) Williams of Medina; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Melissa, Christopher, Lindsay, Nicholas, Matthew, and Patrick; four great grandchildren, Vera, Ellis, Jack and Will, and two “on the way.”
She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her husband, George J. Williams, whom she married September 18, 1948, passed away August 18, 1992.
Three brothers, Michael, George, and John Semyan also preceded Elisabeth in death.

Tom was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, formerly Holy Name of Jesus Church, and currently St. Matthias Church.
He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, and doing yard work. Tom took great pride in caring for his yard. In the 1960's and 1970's, Tom was a softball umpire, and in his younger years, Tom enjoyed Polka dancing at Kuzman’s and the Idora Park Ballroom.
He leaves to cherish his memory, three children, Thomas P. Balog, Jr., of Sarasota, FL., Diane Balog of Poland, and John T. Balog of Bowie, MD., two grandchildren, Theodore Balog of Bowie, MD., and Samantha Balog, of Youngstown and several nieces and nephews and extended family members.
His wife, Geraldine Baytosh Balog, whom he married June 18, 1955, passed away August 2, 2013.

He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1947 to 1951.
Pete worked as a laborer at US Steel Ohio Works for 7 years and then began his 31 year career with the United States Postal Service as a clerk and retired in 1989. After his retirement, he enjoyed walking in Mill Creek Park every morning where he would greet others with a friendly “hi” or “hello”.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 301 and the Postal Clerks Union 443.
Pete was proud of his Hungarian Heritage and was raised as a member of the American Hungarian Reformed Church. For the past 40 years, however, he attended the 7 a.m. Sunday Mass at St. Christine Church.
Mr. Nagy enjoyed reading the Bible and also enjoyed bowling. He received a longevity award for his many years of dedication to the sport.
Pete will always be remembered as a man with admirable qualities, quick wit and his willingness to help others in need.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Teresa Lord (Tim Sheppa) of Austintown; his grandson, Michael (Trisha) Lord of Columbia, SC., whom he had a special relationship with and always enjoyed being with. They especially enjoyed cooking Hungarian bacon over the fire. Pete also leaves three great grandchildren, Ayla, Alex, and Anoura Lord; several nieces and nephews including Susan Nagy of Virginia whose special steel mill artwork he admired and many extended family members.
His wife, Loretta Vidis Nagy, whom he married in 1953 passed away in 1985. A son, Peter J. Nagy, two brothers, Alex and Steve Nagy and a sister Sophie Takach also preceded Pete in death.

He was a 1960 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Cuban Missile Crisis. During his time in the Air Force, Tom earned the following awards, Army Good Conduct Medal , Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon.
Tom worked for the United States Postal Service, first as a letter carrier through the Poland branch and then as a maintenance mechanic on the mail processing equipment, retiring in 1998, after 38 years of service. After retiring, Tom worked as a security guard for US Security Associates and also worked in security for Shane Security Services and Southwoods Health.
Mr. Diacin was a member of St. Joseph Church in Austintown.
He was also a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch #385, the Youngstown Model Train Association, the Saginaw Lodge #82 Loyal Order of the Moose, and was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.
Tom enjoyed playing with model trains and loved being outdoors.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 50 years, Carol A. Mehalco Diacin, whom he married October 9, 1971. Two sons, Michael J. Diacin, Ph.D., of Indianapolis, and Thomas D. Diacin of Austintown; a brother, John M. Diacin, Jr. of Southington; a sister, Patti Ann Diacin of Youngstown and several nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Besides his parents, an infant brother, James Diacin, and a sister in law, Yvonne Diacin preceded Tom in death.
Private family services will be held at Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown.
Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown.
