She later met Davenport Hill, married and became a homemaker. Her great passion was spending time with her family and friends. William was the owner of Payton Express World Class. He enjoyed singing, joking, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and just being the life of the party. He was an R&B Soul singer known as “Steel Bill”. William was the songwriter for Malco Records for many years.He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2017. Early in life he married Marilyn Payton and later remarried Mitchlyn Gentry. He was preceded in death by his parents: Johnny and Annie Payton. His grandmother Velma Payton. His siblings: Johnny Roy Payton, Betty Payton, Catherine Russell, Tina Brown, Billy Payton. With love ones by his side, William was called home November 17th, 2021.
