Bob Million - February 28, 1953 - December 12, 2023

Departed: 12/12/2023 (Higginsville)
Obituary Preview: Bob was born the second of seven children to Darrell and Fran Million.
He met his wife, Cary, 60 yrs ago through Warrensburg Sacred Heart Church and their school at the age of ten. It wasn't long after they met Cary told his Mom some day she would marry Bob. They grew up together and married 47 yrs. ago.
They were in St. Luke's hospital on their 47th anniversary this past November when Bob's Mom of 94 was in hospice. They had the chance to talk to Fran on that day and Cary thanked her for the 47th time for having Bob just for her all those years. She did that every anniversary and Fran would always remind Cary how she said she would marry him one day.
Cary prayed Fran wouldn't die on their anniversary. Fran heard her wish and lasted 7 minutes into the next day before going to Heaven to be with her ever loving Darrell, whom she had been missing for 15 years. Bob joined her two weeks later on December 12th.
Bob went on a beautiful, warm, sunny day, not like the day when he came into this world in a February blizzard 70 yrs. ago. He was at peace, pain free and conscious to the end.
Father Jim, of Windsor's Catholic Church, gave Bob Last Rites, so Bob was knocking at Heaven's door when he passed. Bob passed wearing his favorite Chief's shirt which the hospital gave back to Cary to make a pillow out of it for his favorite chair. Now he can continue to watch all the Chiefs games with her. He got to hear two of his siblings, Dan and Darilyn's, voices just before he passed. He smiled and blew them kisses. Cary told him it was ok for him to go on to Mom and Dad and she would be ok and join him later. He blew her a kiss, closed his eyes and passed.
Cary and Bob both both had the same cancer. This was her second time around and she is so blessed to still be living while he is blessed to have been pain free with a peaceful passing. With all the tumors and other health complications, it was good he went quickly and left being the guy she's known and loved all these years. Cary is also thankful that she was with him along with their best friend, Stella McNeel, to the very end.
Bob was and will always be the love of Cary's life. In his prime, he served in the Navy on a P3 war plane as a submarine hunter. They married when both were 24. He graduated college in Warrensburg and before taking on a 28 yr. career with UPS, he worked with the Baldwin's on their farm in Warrensburg for 10 yrs. Cary and Bob bought a farm of their own up by Higginsville where they loved renovating and lived for over 30 yrs. They sold the farm and retired to a cabin on Truman Lake in 2015. Along the way, they bought property in Montana to be close to family about 30 yrs. ago. They've spent years white water boating, skiing, hiking, hunting and loved spending time at both their cabins in Missouri and Montana in their retirement. Though they didn't have children of their own, they were Godparents to eight of their family and closest friends. So, children were always a part of their lives along with all their critters.
Their Montana cabin is 10 miles up in the mountains above Flathead Lake on the western side of Montana. It overlooks beautiful Lake Mary Ronan and literally is to die for. So Cary is planning to scatter his ashes at both Truman Lake and Lake Mary Ronan later this summer.
Donations in Bob's memory can be made to help protect and preserve the endangered lake in Montana. They can be sent to: Friends of Lake Mary Ronan, PO Box 106, Dayton, MT 59914.
Bob is survived by his wife: Carol Ann Million. His siblings and their spouses: Dan (Rebecca) Million, Darilyn Million, Patty (John) Kennedy, Paul (Pat) Million, Teresa (Ron) Giesselmann, and Tom (Lisa) Million, numerous nephews, nieces and their kidlets too.
While Bob will be missed, his smiles, memories, and spirit lives on.
Rest in peace, Bob. The Man, The Myth, the Legend lives on in everyone's hearts always with love.
