Obituary Preview: Gerald “Jerry” Walter Raske Sr., age 91 of Wonder Lake, Illinois, died Saturday, March 23, 2024 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, Illinois.
He was born October 2, 1932 in Chicago to Elmer and Evelyn (Pierce) Raske. On August 29, 1959 he married Evelyn Carol Wojciechowski at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Chicago. Evelyn passed away on January 1, 2021.
Jerry attended grade school at Goethe Grammar School in Chicago and graduated from high school at Lane Technical School in Chicago. He moved to Wonder Lake, Illinois in the 1950s with his family.
He was a Staff Sergeant in the US Army and served in the Korean War in the Psychological Warfare First Loudspeaker Leaflet Company.
Jerry worked many years at Fort Dearborn Lithograph Company in Chicago and retired in 1992 from Sleepeck Printing Company in Chicago as a pressman.
Jerry was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Wonder Lake, Illinois; member and Past Commander of American Legion Post 491 in McHenry, Illinois; member of VFW Post 4600 in McHenry, Illinois; member of the Wonder Lake Lions Club and Lions District 1J; past member and treasurer of the Veteran’s Assistance Commission of McHenry County.
He is survived by a son Gerald W. Raske, Jr. (Tina) of St. Louis and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Evelyn Raske who died on January 1, 2021; a daughter Lynn Raske who died on June 10, 2011; a sister Evelyn Gustek; and brothers Edward Raske, Arthur Raske, Albert Raske, and Elmer Raske.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Wonder Lake, Illinois.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Wonder Lake, Illinois.
Interment will be immediately after Mass at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery in Wonder Lake, Illinois.

Jean Marie Okrasinski - December 16, 1930 - October 20, 2023

Obituary Preview: Jean Marie Okrasinski, a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully in her home in Wonder Lake, IL, on October 20, 2023. Born on December 16, 1930, in Chicago, IL.
Jean was born to Emil and Lillian Rackow and grew up alongside her siblings, Lorraine, Rosalie, Kenneth, and Ray. Her parents and brothers Kenneth and Ray, and son -in-law Steve, preceded her in death. She was deeply loved by all who knew her. In her lifetime, Jean devoted herself to her family. She is survived by her children, Debra (Bill), Donna (Richard), Dawn, Dale (Jim), and Dorian (Bill), and grandchildren Nicole, Colleen, Chad, Ryan, Joel, Heather, Paul, Steven, Jonathan, Courtney, Caitlyn, Danielle, Ross, Kendra, and Reid. She was also the proud great-grandmother to 40 great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored. Jean's family was the center of her world, and she often stated, "I'm the mother.”
Jean's interests were as varied as they were passionate. She loved sewing. Her skills in the kitchen were unparalleled, and she delighted in preparing meals for family gatherings. Jean also enjoyed tending to her garden, which was always full of vibrant flowers and fresh vegetables. She was a golfer and cherished the time she spent on the course with her daughters. Despite her many hobbies, Jean's favorite pastime was spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife and mother who managed her household with an organized and strong hand.
Jean Marie Okrasinski will forever be loved and forever remembered.
Her family and friends will forever cherish her memory and celebrate the remarkable life she lived.

Lotte E Eschner - February 20, 1927 - October 19, 2023

Obituary Preview: Lotte E. Eschner, age 96, of Wonder Lake, passed away on the 19th day of October 2023, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born February 20, 1927, in Schippenbell, Germany to Albert and Klara (Koon) Schroeder. Lotte married the love of her life, Howard Eschner, on September 27, 1952, at St. Paul Church in Chicago.
Lotte grew up in Germany and immigrated to Chicago in 1950. She loved living on the lake and resided there for over 55 years. Lotte was an active member of the Nativity Lutheran Church. For many years, Lotte was a valued employee at Brake Parts. She loved baking and cooking for her family and friends. Later in life she enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her two children, Doug (Beth) Eschner, Diane (Mike Wojtas) Kolinski; four grandchildren, Ben (Jess) and Nick (Electra) Eschner, Jordan (Kendall) Kolinski, Alison (Jeffrey) Fritschler; seven great-grandchildren, Emmalyn, Augustine, Kaylee, Nicholas, Abigail, Archie, and Kai; niece, Maryann Majeski and several nieces and nephews in Germany.
In addition to her parents, Lotte was preceded in death by her husband Howard in 1995, her two brothers Herbert and Werner, and sister Ortrud and their spouses.
Visitation will be held at Nativity Lutheran Church, 3506 E. Wonder Lake Road, Wonder Lake, IL 60097 on the 23rd day of October 2023 from 9:00 am – 10:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am. Interment will be at Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago, next to her husband, Howard.

Ken was a beacon of warmth and generosity for all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In his personal life, Ken was a dedicated family man. He was a loving husband to his wife, Vickie, with whom he shared a beautiful 50-year journey that culminated in a joyous golden wedding anniversary celebration on July 21, 2023. Ken's devotion extended to his sons, Jason (Carrie) and Jeremiah (Julie), and his sister, Nancy Ryan. He derived immense joy from his role as a grandfather to Emma, Jordyn, Braeden, and Jaelyn, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Doris Berner and his Half brothers, Thomas and Lawrence.
Ken was not just a family man; he was also an industrious worker. He worked at Regency Die and Mold for 32 years. Not only did he work with his father he also worked with both of his sons during the 32 years. Years later he retired from Coilcraft Inc. He found fulfillment in the simplest of tasks, such as yard work, and was renowned for his work ethic. His dedication and commitment were evident in his involvement in his grandchildren's extracurricular activities. He loved watching, his boys, his grandkids and their friends at ski shows, volleyball games, football, baseball games and taking a cruise on one of his many vehicles over the years, the motorcycle, the boat, the golf cart, or the slow roll through the neighborhood in his truck. He will be missed by many, mostly by his loving wife of over 50 years, Vickie. Ken's passion for hard work was matched only by his love for his family and friends, which was the cornerstone of his life.
Despite the demands of a busy life, Ken always made time for others. He was known for his friendly demeanor and his ability to make anyone feel comfortable in his presence. His thoughtfulness was evident in the way he always considered the needs and feelings of others before his own. His kindness was a shining light that guided his actions and endeared him to all who knew him.
Ken's life was a testament to the power of love, friendship, and dedication. He lived his life with purpose and left an indelible mark on the hearts of those he touched. As we remember and celebrate Ken's life, we are reminded of his unwavering kindness, his thoughtful nature, and his friendly demeanor. These qualities will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Born on August 12, 1937, in Appleton, Wisconsin, to the late Edgar and Gertrude (Birkenmeyer) Mattingly, Thomas was a beacon of joy and strength to all who knew him.
Thomas, also known as Tom, was a dedicated family man. He is survived by his children: Susan (Joel) Krichbaum of Chelsea, Jillann Mattingly of Milan, Thomas (Kelly) Mattingly of Woodstock, Melissa (Scott) Voorhees of Crystal Lake, and Matthew (Amy) Mattingly of Crystal Lake. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and a great-grandfather to one. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: Gene Zink, Paul Mattingly, and his best friend and life partner, Matilda Hudson.
Thomas was a dedicated member of the Woodstock community, where he worked in the local school district for over 35 years. His commitment to the school and its students was evident in his work, and he eventually retired as the head custodian. He was a pillar of the community, and his presence will be greatly missed.
In addition to his career in education, Thomas was a man of faith. He was a parishioner at Christ the King Church, where he began his spiritual journey as an altar boy. His faith was a guiding light in his life and provided comfort and strength in his final days.
Thomas also served his country with pride, courage, and dedication. As a young man, he joined the US Army 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper, demonstrating his bravery and commitment to his country. His time in the military instilled in him a resilience and tenacity that he carried throughout his life.
In his personal life, Thomas had a love for the outdoors and was often seen riding his bicycle around town. He was also an avid reader and frequented the local library, where he could often be found engrossed in a book. His love for knowledge and adventure was infectious and inspired those around him.
In addition to his many accomplishments, Thomas will be remembered for his loving nature, his passion for life, and his courageous spirit. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Thomas Edward Mattingly was a man who left an indelible mark on his community and the lives of those he loved. His legacy will live on through his family, his service to his country, and his dedication to his community. While he will be dearly missed, his memory will continue to inspire and uplift all who knew him.

Susan (Sue) LaGreca - August 14, 1955 - July 09, 2023

Obituary Preview: Susan LaGreca age 67, a lifelong resident of Wonder Lake, passed away on July 9, 2023. Sue was born August 14,1955 in Woodstock, Il. to James and Barbara (Hagan) LaGreca.
Survivors include her Son James (Heather) Rades of Wonder Lake, IL., Grandson James Rades of Wonder Lake, Il. Brother David (Alice) of Georgetown TX. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Ohlson on November 28, 2011; her brother Scott (Chris) LaGreca and her brother Tony (Kay) LaGreca .
Sue was a beloved member of the community and leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and a passion for her family and her cherished hobbies. Sue was a longtime member of Nativity Lutheran church and graduated from McHenry High School. Throughout her life, she made a lasting impact on those around her.
For over 30 years, Sue dedicated her career to Jewel Food Stores, serving the community as a loyal and hardworking employee. Her dedication and friendly nature made her a beloved figure to both her colleagues and customers. She approached her work with enthusiasm and a genuine desire to assist others.
One of Sue's greatest joys was tending to her yard and making it a beautiful and welcoming space. She took great pride in adorning her yard with vibrant flowers. Each spring, she eagerly anticipated the opportunity to plant her hanging baskets, bringing life and color to her surroundings. Sue had a special fondness for hens and chicks, and she lovingly cared for them in her garage with a heater, ensuring their survival during colder months before returning them to their designated spots in the spring. She enjoyed admiring her yard from her screened-in back porch, complete with a light-up palm tree, which doubled as a summer sanctuary for her and her three beloved Siamese cats, whom she treated as if they were her own children.
Sue had a zest for life and enjoyed simple pleasures. She loved getting pedicures, donning flip-flops, and spending time at the beach. As a sun goddess, she relished in the warmth of the sun and delighted in collecting seashells, each one reminding her of the enchantment of mermaids. These moments were particularly special to Sue, as they evoked memories of her son Danny, who had a successful career as a diver both in the Navy and in his professional life.
Above all, Sue cherished her family. She found immense joy in spending time with her sons Jim and Danny, who held a special place in her heart, as well as her grandson little Jimmy, who brought her immeasurable joy and companionship. With her deep love of family she also enjoyed any opportunity to spend time with her mother, who was her best friend, father, brothers and sister in-law’s. Family gatherings were a source of happiness and connection for Sue.
Sue LaGreca will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her unwavering devotion to her family, and her passion for cultivating beauty in her surroundings. She will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched. May her memory live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Richard is survived by his devoted wife, Carol (Smutny) Brefeld, with whom he shared a beautiful life filled with love and laughter. Together, they raised four wonderful children, Inga, Todd (Naomi), Anthea (Charles), and Leslie, who will forever cherish the memories and lessons their father shared with them. Richard was also a proud and doting grandfather to Aden, Andy, Ella, Harry, and Eva. He is further survived by his sister, Gail Daley, and his beloved fur babies, Mr. Wilson and Sherlock Bones. Richard was preceded in death by his parents: Paul and Katherine (Blum), brother, Paul Brefeld.
Family was at the heart of Richard's life - he took great pride in being a husband, father, and grandfather. He had a special bond with each of his five grandchildren, who lovingly referred to him as "Grandpa Richard." His gentle nature and warm heart made him a source of comfort and guidance to his family. Richard loved spending time with his canine companions, Mr. Wilson, and Sherlock Bones, who brought him immense joy and were always by his side.
An avid outdoorsman, Richard had a passion for fishing and boating. He spent many happy hours on the water, teaching his children and grandchildren the art of casting a line and reeling in the big catch. He also found solace in the beauty of nature and took great pleasure in intending to his garden. His green thumb and dedication to nurturing his plants were evident in the beautiful blooms that adorned his yard each season.
Richard's love for reading knew no bounds, and he was a lifelong fan of science fiction. He enjoyed exploring new worlds and ideas through the pages of a book and eagerly shared his passion for literature with his family and friends. His extensive personal library was a testament to his love for the written word and the joy he found in the stories he read.
Throughout his life, Richard was an unassuming and humble man, always putting the needs of others before his own. He had a natural ability to bring out the best in people and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His kindness and generosity were felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Richard's memory will live on in the hearts and minds of his family, friends, and all who were touched by his gentle spirit. His legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Rick Goins - March 30, 1953 - March 31, 2023

Obituary Preview: Dr. Rick Goins, (Ricky Lee Goins) beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away on March 31, 2023, at the age of 70 in Barrington IL at Journey Care Hospice Center. Rick was born on March 30, 1953, in Woodstock, Illinois, to his parents, Robert and Lois (Johnson) Goins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Kelly Jo. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, (Evie), his three sons, Cody (Molly), Wyatt (Miranda) and Lucas, his two grandchildren, Eugene Goins and Violet Goins, his sister Debra Sue Varga, and nieces and nephews.
Rick always had a quick wit that often left his friends and family in amazement and laughter, yet loved deep conversations with others. He enjoyed reading medical textbooks or hi-fi, sci-fi books, didn’t matter. In younger years, he had a talent for skiing, both on the water as a Salom water skier and on the snow. As a member of Woodstock Country Club, he enjoyed golfing and later snowmobiling as a member of the Wonder Lake Snowmobile Club and boating on Wonder Lake.
Rick had a talent for woodworking and Do-It-Yourself repairs, often spending hours creating, repurposing, remodeling and fixing things around the house. He and Evie loved to camp and he even built his own wooden teardrop trailer, which they named “Woody”. He loved fishing, especially for walleye and most notably at Put-in-Bay, Ohio, or on Lake Erie. If he could not be fishing for real, he would be watching fishing, like his new favorite show, Wicked Tuna while enjoying his tasty Twinkies or chocolate.
Rick was a 1971 graduate of Woodstock High School, a Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity brother at Western University and doctoral degree at Palmer College in Davenport. Professionally, Rick was a chiropractor for over 45 years, practicing alongside his father, and then on his own, as Goins Chiropractic in Woodstock, Illinois, his home town. He was a former member of the Illinois Chiropractic Bar Association and member of the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce. He was known for his compassionate care and willingness to make house calls, night or day, to his patients. He was always grateful for the blessing of his receptionist, Peggie Klabunde, of 25 years. With his gentle manner and highly sensitive healing hands, he took great passion in helping others achieve their best health, and struggled these past years being on the other side of health care.
Rick was a man of faith raised protestant and converted to Catholicism after meeting his beloved wife, Evelyn "Evie" Svoboda. They married on December 29, 1979, at Christ the King Church, raised their family in the Catholic faith, served as a lector for 15 years and enjoyed the parish community. His faith allowed him to not be afraid of his mortal death.
His three sons, Cody, Wyatt and Lucas, will always remember him for the family man he was, driving them every morning to school throughout the years, their Indian Guides days, his red shoes, watching hours of Lord of the Rings, listening to Tom Waits or telling dad jokes. Due to his health issue, he said he was thankful to be at his sons’ weddings, to see his son ‘s dream of living in Japan and to be a grandfather and to hold his grandchildren, Eugene Goins and Violet Goins. His family would like to thank everyone for their kindness, gifts of time and listening, generosity and prayers. Fernando A. Perez - October 20, 1954 - March 22, 2023

Obituary Preview: Fernando A Perez, beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully at the age of 68 on March 22nd 2023, in Barrington, Illinois. Fernando was born on October 20th 1954 in Arlington Heights Illinois to his parents Sefrino and Ignacia (Aguilar) Perez. He was one of 9 children including Olga, Mary, Margie, Petra, Frank, Joe, Jessie and Sefrino.
Fernando lived a fulfilling life centered around providing a better life for his children. His hobbies included motorcycles, fishing, campfires under the stars and he'd love looking at the moon through a telescope. Riding three wheelers was his main hobby as his children Eric and Janie grew older. Meanwhile Michael and Elizabeth grew up in the city with their mother Shellie. Michael a skilled sound technician and avid guitar player and Elizabeth studied business and marketing, automotives, dementia care and teaching ESL. He was extremely proud of all of his children's accomplishments as Eric became a firefighter paramedic and Janie the devoted mother and business woman.
He was also a very proud grandfather to his grandchildren. Myka the extremely talented musician, Esperanza the articulate and extremely smart high schooler, Jordyn the funny and quirky third grader, Logan energetic and rambunctious second grader and his newest granddaughter Solaya who is all smiles and is always happy.
Fernando enjoyed life and a few Miller Lites. He loved watching the Packers beat the Bears. He loved holidays with the kids and grandkids and getting reconnected with his daughter Elizabeth. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Fernando is proceeded in death by his parents, his siblings, Petra, Frank and Joe along with his two wives Shellie and Jodie.
A memorial service will be held at the Justen Wonder Lake Funeral Home 7611 W. Hancock Drive, Wonder Lake, IL, on Sunday, April 2, 2023, from 3:00pm - 5:00pm.

Sherri was known for her laughter and her huge smile that went along with her big heart. She loved to read. She enjoyed her Florida trips where she could go shopping. She loved her family.

He was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 2nd, 1984 to Richard Juneau and Mary Paskiewicz. James enlisted with the U.S. Navy in 2004 and served until 2008 when he was honorably discharged and decided to start a family with his wife in IL. He loved football and was a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan. He cried when they won the super bowl in 2018 and would be so excited to see them advancing in the playoffs again right now. Being from Philly, he was also a huge “Rocky” fan. In fact, he loved movies and usually had a large collection of DVDs. He was very loyal to his family and was a great friend. He loved his kids with all of his heart. He will be missed by so many people.
James is survived by his mother Mary Paskiewicz, father Richard Juneau, brothers Anthony Douthit and Paul Juneau, sisters Angie and Misty Juneau, ex-wife Kerrie Bullions, son Jayden Juneau, daughter Mia Juneau, nephews Jibril Juneau, Gaige Ulerick , Brandon and Paul Jr., and nieces Virginia Warnement, Brooklyn Bardall, Zelda Douthit and Tayla.

Obituary Preview: It is with the heaviest heart to announce the passing of Kathryn C. Mathews on January 4, 2023. Kathryn was born on January 30, 1956, in Fort Lee, Virginia to John and Elisabeth Nicola.
She is survived by her mother, Elisabeth Nicola; her 4 siblings Henry Nicola, Mark Nicola, Caroline (Doug) Sciolino, and Valerie (Larry) Nicola; her three children, Tyler (Suereea) Mathews, Morgan (Mike) Mathews, and Justine Mathews; her 7 grandchildren, Jeremiah, Faith, Jakob, Owen, Gabriel, Ben, and Emma; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, John Nicola.
Kathryn's world were her children and grandchildren, where she spent most of her time while she was away from home.
She graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She went on to start her own graphic design business creating commercial art. A career that began on a drafting table with sketches and markers successfully transitioned to the computer as the industry changed.
She had an unbelievable knack for creativity, whether she was designing magazine ads and catalogs for her clients, decorating homes for the holidays, sketching a portrait, or preparing a culinary masterpiece.
She traveled near and far. One of her greatest trips being a summer in France, where she spent time with Aunts, Uncles, and cousins, which set course for a lifelong appreciation for her family culture. Another great trip was to South Africa with her son, Tyler; where they toured the African wilderness, explored a diamond mine thousands of feet underground, crash landed in a hot air balloon, and held baby lion cubs.
She had an appreciation for nature, whether she was creating container gardens that were comparable to the Botanic Gardens or feeding the yellow finches that would swarm her back door in the spring.
She had a sense of humor like none other, telling stories with a comical lens and tapestry of clever analogies.
She loved and was loved to the end of her physical life, and will continue to be, through the eternity of her heavenly life.
A visitation will be held at Church of Holy Apostles, 5211 Bull Valley Rd. McHenry, IL 60050 on Saturday, January 14, 2023, from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM. A mass will follow from 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM.

Myron received his wings while serving as a Captain in the Air Force. He was also a Captain for American Airlines for 28 years before retiring. He enjoyed playing golf and tennis, but his true passion was for fishing. His family was his greatest accomplishment.
Myron is survived by his wife; Phyllis, his children; Timothy (Karen), Michael (Tammy), Kerry (Marisa), Judy Repke (Randal), his 18 grandchildren., several great grandchildren, and one brother, Merlin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Rolland, Charlotte, Onalee, and Monadeen.

Born on December 19, 1970, in Elgin, IL to Wayne Lyle Follman and Darlene Dorothy (Vick) Follman. Diana Married Jose Gomez Jr. on February 14th 1994 and the two lived for many years in Wonder Lake.
Diana always put family first and rose to all the duties you could ask for in a mother such as making sure her children had three solid meals a day, keeping clean house and clothes for her children. She also loved to go camping with them at Devils Lake. When she would attend her son's football games, she took home the prize for loudest fan in the stands. Her girls got the same love and attention she was known for being their number 1 buyer of girl scout cookies. Her favorite was the Caramel Delights flavor, she enjoyed snacking on these with her husband while watching a movie.
Jose passed on Friday December 5, 2014 and after that Diana moved up to Genoa City when she met her current partner Frank Link.
Diana is survived by her children; Garrett Folman, Cruz Gomez, Jose Gomez, Allie Gomez, Jessica Follman, Addrianna Gomez and Christopher Follman, grandchildren Emma, Willow, Meadow (Jessica) Autumn (Cruz), Leonidas (Jose), sisters Renee (Jon) Bohacz and Veronica DeMarco, brother Erik (Tammy) Follman and her partner Frank Link.
She was predeceased by parents, her husband Jose, sister Dawn M. DeMarco and brother Wayne (Leesa) Follman.

He was born on June 26, 1953, in Chicago, IL, to Lawrence George Yore and Evelyn Rose Yore (Luczak). After graduating from Holy Cross High School, he attended and received a bachelors degree in Psychology from Northeastern Illinois University. He also attended Columbia College Chicago for photography. While an operations manager for Flying Tiger Line, the worlds largest freight airline of the time, he met our mother. In 1978, Peter married the love of his life Kathy Janice (Parton) Yore. In 1982 he opened his own insurance practice in Chicago that he ran for over 33 years. Peter was an amazing father to his three children, Catherine L. Yore, Peter F. Yore (Casey), and Amy M. Yore. His grandchildren, Roan, Grayson, Piper, Paisley and Preslee brought him joy, and he loved them dearly. On top of his many talents, which included skillfully playing any instrument he could get his hands on, (most notably the drums, guitar, piano and clarinet), he was highly intelligent, an avid reader, master storyteller, skilled craftsman, former pilot, amateur astronomer, photographer, and he loved traveling. He will be remembered as a purveyor of truth and knowledge by those that knew him. He taught his children to play their respective instruments, and instilled in them his insatiable love of learning. He was a man of many trades, and humble in his demeanor. In addition to fixing virtually anything that needed to be mended, from cars to instruments, Peter drafted the plans for and built an extravagant log home for his family with his own hands. Peter was a proud father, and loved his family deeply. He is profoundly missed by each of them, and they will carry on his legacy with honor. Peter is survived by his loving wife, his three children, five grandchildren, his sisters Lucille O'Neill (Jerry), Sharon Yore, and several cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Evelyn, as well as many loved aunts, uncles and cousins. There will be a Celebration of Life service held at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 10th, at Maranatha Assembly of God (2505 N. Ringwood Rd, McHenry, IL 60050) where those who knew and loved Peter may join together in fellowship, remembering this wonderful man. When not working Phyllis will be remembered for her love of music, playing cards and being an active member at Christ the King Catholic Church in Wonder Lake IL. Phyllis is survived by her sons; Ronald (Cheryl) Schuster, Mark (Dawna) Schuster, Matthew Schuster, Jeffrey (Tracy) Schuster, 9 grandchildren Adam, Ryan, Luke, Landon, Sara, Tori, Bryan, Kyle, Jonathan, and 7 great grandchildren Alaina, Liam, Quinn, Owen, Kaydence, Remington and Sierra. She was a proud grandmother to a remarkable 15 grandchildren, who were the apple of her eye. Pheba also leaves behind a sister and a brother, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond. Her family was her world, and she nurtured each relationship with love and devotion. Pheba was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, three sisters, four brothers, and three grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, and Linda, whose memories she held close to her heart.
For over 35 years, Pheba was a dedicated machine operator at the Northwest Herald in Crystal Lake, where she was not only a hardworking employee but also a friend to many. Her colleagues will remember her friendly smile and the warmth she brought to the workplace every day.
Pheba had a zest for life that was evident in her many interests. She was an avid puzzle enthusiast, and her patience and focus were a testament to her ability to solve even the most challenging ones. Fishing was another of her joys, providing her with peaceful moments spent in nature. Pheba also found pleasure in coloring books, where she expressed her creativity and love for vibrant colors. Her grandchildren will fondly recall the many games they played on her phone, which she always had on hand for a moment of fun.
Yard sales were a treasure trove of finds for Pheba, and she delighted in the thrill of discovering hidden gems. Music held a special place in her heart, and she loved singing to her grandchildren—a melody of love that will echo in their memories forever.
Pheba's culinary skills were legendary among her family and friends. Her scalloped corn and cherry pie were staples at family gatherings and will be sorely missed, not only for their taste but for the love that was an essential ingredient in all her recipes. She had a gift for cheering people up and getting them to smile, a quality that made her an indispensable presence in the lives of those she touched.
Christmas was Pheba's favorite time of year, a season filled with love, giving, and the festive spirit that she embodied. Her home was always a welcoming haven of holiday cheer, where family and friends gathered to celebrate and create lasting memories.
Pheba E. McGee was the embodiment of love, kindness, and friendliness. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her life was a testament to the joy that can be found in simple pleasures and the importance of cherishing every moment with loved ones. Glen's journey through life was shared with his beloved wife, Amy, with whom he built a family grounded in love and mutual respect. Together, they raised their children, Scott, who is married to Sarah, Burt, who is married to Michelle, and their daughter, Cheri. Glen's role as a grandparent brought him immeasurable joy, and he was a guiding light in the lives of his grandchildren, Chris and Melissa Vanlue. His extended family included step-grandchildren Jessica, Jeremy, Whitney, Dan, Aviana, Connor, Ryan,  Emmalyn, and Logan, all of whom he adored and cherished.
He was preceded in death by his 13 brothers and sisters.
Professionally, Glen was respected for his strong work ethic and leadership. He spent many years as a supervisor for Arnold Engineering, where his colleagues valued his guidance and expertise. Later, he transitioned to a role as a waste treatment technician at Knaack, demonstrating his versatility and commitment to excellence in any endeavor he undertook.
Glen's interests and hobbies painted the picture of a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. His garage was his sanctuary, where he could often be found tinkering with tractors and cars, a testament to his mechanical prowess. A lover of classic entertainment, Glen would spend hours watching war movies, laughing with Ma & Pa Kettle, or enjoying the comedic genius of John Candy. His strength was legendary, earning him the nickname "strong as a bull," yet he was always the first to lend a helping hand.
Gardening was another of Glen's passions, and he took great pride in cultivating his garden, where he found tranquility and satisfaction in the fruits of his labor. His greatest love, however, was reserved for his family and grandchildren. He crafted doll houses with meticulous detail, creating not just toys but heirlooms that would be treasured for generations.
Christmas was a special time for Glen, filled with the warmth of family gatherings and the familiar strains of Ollie Olson's "Yingle Bells," a tune that became a festive tradition in the Vanlue household. His love for the holiday season was infectious, spreading cheer to all who had the pleasure of celebrating with him.
Those who knew Glen would describe him as loving, kind, and handy—a man whose hands were as adept at building and fixing as they were at offering comfort and support. His legacy is one of unwavering love for his family, a commitment to his work, and a life filled with meaningful connections and joyous moments.
Glen Vanlue's life was a testament to the values he held dear: hard work, family, and the simple joys of living.
