Obituary Preview: William Edward “Bill” Moon, 91, passed away Friday, November 24, 2023 at his sister’s home in Garnett.Bill was born September 28, 1932 in Waverly, Kansas the son of Jum and Ora Cooper Moon. He attended school in Burlington and Halls Summit and later graduated from Lebo High School with the Class of 1950.Bill worked at Pioneer Hardware in Burlington before entering the United States Army on April 10, 1953. His time in the service would take him to Germany for two years. Bill was issued and honorable discharge from service on March 17, 1955.He later began a career as a bookkeeper and clerk at Bank IV in Topeka until his retirement in 1991.Bill enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening, raising chickens and taking long walks in the country with his dog Skippy.Bill will live on in the hearts and memories of his extended family and many friends.Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Key West Cemetery.
