Marjorie Carson Chancellor, affectionately known as “Marge”, entered rest on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at her daughter’s residence in Hephzibah, GA.
Marjorie was born on August 7, 1942, in Abbeville County, South Carolina. She was the third of nine children born to the late Easter Jane Carson and John M. Carson. Marjorie helped raise her younger siblings and continued to be their anchor throughout her life. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, a loving and doting mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend.
Marjorie received Christ at an early age and joined Wilson Creek Baptist Church #2 in Iva, SC. At a later age, she moved her membership to Geneorstee Baptist Church in Starr, SC where she sang in the choir. A decline in her health led to her change in membership to Grace Baptist Church Redemption House in Anderson, SC. Marjorie graduated from the great Westside High School in Anderson, SC. She also attended Tri- County Technical College in Pendleton, SC. She retired from the Department of Social Services after almost 30 years of service as the Food Stamps Coordinator. Marjorie’s exceptional strength and wisdom were evident to all who were fortunate enough to have known her. She enjoyed music, especially rhythm & blues and gospel, going to church, and entertaining family and friends. Marge had an uncanny ability to make people laugh.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sylvester “Bug” Chancellor; son, Sylvester Durand Chancellor; three brothers, Shamsud- Dinn “Burgess” Rahim (Peggy), John Thomas Carson, and Claude Carson; three sisters, Marilyn (Jackie) Clement, Leora (Lloyd) Garvin, and Jimmie Carson Bruno.
Her lasting and loving memories will be cherished by two daughters, Angela Carson of Atlanta, GA, and Hilda (Rufus) Van of Hephzibah, GA; a niece Veronica (Shon) Henderson of Anderson, SC that was reared in the home; granddaughters Takesha Ford of Coppell, TX, Destiny Van of Hephzibah, GA, Cintarian Hollings, Sylvia Hollings (reared in the home), and Courtney Martin all of Anderson, SC; grandson, Rufus Khalid Van of Hephzibah, GA; nine greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Brenda (Jimmy) Ellis and Patricia Carson both of Anderson, SC; two brothers, Marion (Doris) Carson and EJ Carson of Anderson, SC; sisters-in-law, Queenie Carson of Queens, NY, and Eva Ann Hammond of Grand Rapids, MI; brothers-in-law, William Chancellor of Milwaukee, WI, Larry Chancellor of Anderson, SC, Ronald Chancellor of Grand Rapids, MI, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is survived by his loving mother, Annette J. He was married to the late Janie Rosanna Johnson Blanding for 50 years. This union was blessed with two sons.
Jone worked at Owen Corning Fiberglass for many years before becoming self-employed. He enjoyed a successful business in landscaping, buying, remodeling, renting and selling houses. He was a very skilled laborer and tradesman who knew a little something about everything. He passed this skill on to his sons and grandson, and they inherited his Jack of all Trades mentality. One of  Jone's favorite things to do was roast pigs overnight and fellowship with family.
Jone leaves to cherish his memories, sons, Reggie (Tanara) Blanding and two grandchildren, Shanade and La' Chaz Blanding, one great-grandchild Brooklyn Blanding.   Jone Rodrequis  (Kimberly) Blanding and 3 grandchildren, Shanta Blanding, Marcellus (Jordyn) Hunter and Kimbrionna Hunter and 4 great grandchildren Armoni Cunningham, DeAsia Blanding, Elijah and Ezekiel Hunter. Siblings include Annie Smith, Janie Corner, David (Eugenia) Blanding, Mclester (Gloria) Blanding) and Adger (Joyce) Blanding. His in-laws, Brenda Bond, James (Tecora) Johnson, Olin (Mary) Johnson, Bobby (Eva) Johnson, Linda Sullivan, Otto (Johnnie) Johnson, Priscilla (Eric) Gambrell, Edith (Eric) Anderson, Huley (Patricia) Johnson, Rene (Victor) Pressley and Zenobia Blanding along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

For over 45 years, she thrived as a successful minority business owner as the owner of Sandra's House of Beauty.
Ms. Sandra was baptized at an early age and was a lifelong member of Rock Hill Baptist Church in Anderson, South Carolina. Her passion was caring for others. She possessed a servant's heart which was demonstrated through acts of selfless service through caring for and ministering to others. She enjoyed her daily reading of God's word. Ms. Sandra's life included daily ministering to others and sharing the joy of her salvation.
Ms. Sandra leaves to cherish her loving memory, Stepmother, Betty Freeman, her children: John Thompson of the home, Cathy Thompson, of Belton, SC, Harriett Hunt of Anderson, SC and Greg (Melissa) Thompson of Starr Iva, SC.  In addition to her children, brothers: William (Bobbie Jean) Freeman of Princeton, New Jersey and Don Jordan of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He had a sharp attitude in style, character and love for the Lord. Most know him as a man who loved his family and the memories he made along the way.
