Obituary Preview: Kathy Wiser, 64, of Vandergrift passed away on April 30, 2024. She was born October 19, 1959, and the daughter of Jane (Platt) Dibler and the late Raymond Dibler. Kathy was a graduate of Kiski Area High School and retired as a Material Handler at Respironics, Inc. She enjoyed the outdoors, swimming, and spending time with her granddaughters. Kathy will be remembered for her laughter and kindness but mostly for her undeniable love for her family and friends.
Kathy is survived by her two daughters, Amy Johnson of Vandergrift and Janelle (Clayton) Cheston of North Carolina; two granddaughters, Skylar Johnson and Adelaide Cheston; her brother, Dennis (Mandy) Dibler of Vandergrift; her sister, Debra Stover of Bellefonte; her family, Tim Platt of New Kensington and Robert Platt of Kingsport, Tennessee; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, Kathy is preceded in death by her sister, Jeanne; a nephew, Mathew Younkins; a niece, Nicole Dibler; and a brother-in-law, Gary Stover.

Obituary Preview: Cecelia Krajci, 94, of  Natrona Heights, went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2024. She was born August 17, 1929, and the daughter of the late Anthony and Laura Dalka. Ceclia was a graduate of Har-Brack High school and employed by Kroger for 27 years. During her retirement, Cecelia enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball games and Westerns. She could often be found baking or cooking, but her favorite times were spent with her family. Cecelia will be remember for her kindness and compassion for others.
Cecelia is survived by her two sons, Andrew Krajci and David (Lori) Krajci of Vandergrift; two grandsons, Brian (Kris) and Mathew (Stephanie) Krajci; five great-grandchildren, Cameron, Ella, Madison, Nash and Anabel; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Cecelia is preceded in death by  her husband Andrew Krajci, a brother, Edward Dalka; two sisters, Irene Walker and Jane Kaminski; and a grandson, Jeffrey Krajci.

Rebecca Rodgers - July 15, 1938 - March 31, 2024

Obituary Preview: Rebecca Eileen Rodgers, 85, of North Apollo went to be with the Lord on March 31, 2024. She was born July 15, 1938, and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Rebecca (Doutt) Klingensmith. Rebecca was a graduate of Vandergrift High School and was employed as a head secretary to the superintendent of the former Vandergrift School District Administration Building. She gave up her job to raise her five children while also continuing to volunteer and dedicate her time as a member and later as president for eight years of the Vandergrift VFW #566 Auxiliary. Rebecca was also President of Lower Burrell VFW #92 Auxiliary for 6 years, and a member of the Vandergrift Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting lap robes for veterans, and for 11 years she volunteered her clerical skills to the American Red Cross Mobile Blood drive Bank. She especially loved spending time with her family, baking and cooking for the holidays.
Rebecca is survived by three sons: Robert Rodgers Jr. of North Apollo, Ronald (Donna) Rodgers of Elizabeth Twp., and Russell Rodgers of West Tarentum; two daughters, Regina Faiola of Lower Burrell and Rebecca (Jay) Kennedy of Irwin; four grandchildren: Amy, Kayla, Faith, and James; and four great-grandchildren: Noel, Makenna, Brodhi, and Makayla.
In addition to her parents, Rebecca is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Robert Rodgers Sr.; a son-in-law, Anthony Faiola; a grandson, Mark Faiola; one brother, Dean Klingensmith; and her sister, Dorothy Rigatti.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. An additional visitation will be held on April 5, 2024, from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am, with Reverend Stephen Rigatti officiating at the Janette L. Gamble Funeral Home Inc, 2842 River Road Vandergrift Pa 15690. Interment will be at the Vandergrift Cemetery. In leiu of flowers, please make a donation in honor of Rebecca to the Vandergrift V.F.W.

Born on September 10, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Robert Kesler and Lois Bowser. Carol attended Kiski Area High School. She married Stephen O. Patrick on August 10, 1973. She was a homemaker for her two children and her late husband. She was a woman of great faith and love for God. Her favorite bible verse was Isaiah 41:10. She enjoyed going to softball games and to oldies dances with Steve as well as outings and events with her family. She loved being outside, porch sitting, wearing 'tip-taps', drinking coffee, and attending picnics. She made the best pies and was a great home cook. She liked listening to oldies, playing cards, and watching cooking shows. Her favorite times were spent with family, especially her grandkids, having laughs and making memories. After the passing of her husband, she was an example of strength, love, and faith.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Frank) Matarrese of Kittanning; her son, Stephen R. Patrick of Cadogan; and two grandchildren, Anthony and Kaitlyn Matarrese.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Carol is preceded in death by her three sisters: Rheta, Lori, and Linda Kesler and her brother, William Kesler.

He retired from Brashear/ L-3 Communications, working as maintenance supervisor. He enjoyed cars, hunting, fishing, spending time with family, and being the best Pappy to his granddaughters. Jim was a strong and loving husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend. His knowledge and gentle spirit will live on through everyone he knew. The time he shared with his loved ones was genuine; he loved with his whole heart and soul. A quality that he instilled in his sons and granddaughters.
Jim is survived by his wife of 46 years, Diane Moon Fry, of Avonmore; two sons, Mathew James Fry of New Kensington and Michael David Fry of Vandergrift; two granddaughters, Priscilla and Penelope Fry; three brothers: Terry (Cindy) Penvose of Olanta, Rick Fry of New Kensington, and David (Eveann) Fry of Leechburg; a sister, Debra (Neal) Hartung of New Kensington; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Larry was a graduate of Kiski Area High School’s Class of 1966. After he retired from USX in Braddock, he continued to help as a caretaker to his neighbor and friend.  Larry could always be found outdoors: golfing, skiing, and gardening.  His favorite memories were the time he spent with his family, friends, and neighbors.
Larry is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Ann (Crawford) Beattie of North Washington; one stepdaughter, Angela (Troy) Jackson of West Leechburg; two step-granddaughters, Kylie Jackson of Houston Texas and Tory (Jason Brunner) Jackson of Lower Burrell. Also his brother, Randall (Christine) Beattie of Washington State; his sister, Pamela (Dennis) Flynn of Creekside; nieces and nephews: John (Samantha) Beattie, Leanne (Jamie) Smolinski, Ashley (James) Patterson, Lori Roush, Glenda Brewer, Jennifer (Eric) Peffer, and Steven Brown;

Obituary Preview: On December 19, 2023, the lives of Darlene (Pollock) Neil, Chrissy Smith, and Amy (Jerad) Miller were changed when their beloved husband and father, Ronald E. Neil (77), was called home by his heavenly father.
Ron/Ronnie was loved by all who met him. He always had a smile when someone said hello. He was a graduate of Blairsville High School. After 22 years at the Vulcan Mold and Iron Foundry of Latrobe, Ron worked at Babcock and Wilcox then the Oakbridge Academy of Arts, Newport Business, Career Training. He adored his wife, Darlene, of 52 years and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandkids, Matthew (Madalyn), Sam, Tyler, and Morgan. Ron was a collector of many things like Hot Wheels cars and coins, but his favorite pastime was relaxing in his chair, helping in the kitchen, and making his famous rigatoni.
Survivors also include his sister, Laura Stewart and brother, William (Chris) Petro.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Russel and Margaret (Bohovich) Neil-Petro; his grandparents; uncles; his brother, Frank Petro; and brother-in-law, Robert Stewart.

Obituary Preview: Donna Pirhalla, 82, of Vandergrift passed away peacefully on October 25, 2023. She was born on June 3, 1941, and the daughter of the late James and Leona (Shannon) Cleveland. She was a 1958 graduate of Vandergrift High School then furthered her education at Westmoreland County Community College. Donna was employed as a secretary for the courthouse, a house parent for Citizens Hospital Nursing School, and a notary.
Donna was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was proud of her family and loved to brag about their accomplishments. She enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with her loved ones at their family camp. Donna never missed an opportunity to take her children and grandchildren to the zoo, amusement parks, fairs, parades, and sporting events. Her love of celebrating holidays are traditions that will continue with future generations. Family always came first, and Donna was relentless with keeping extended family connected.
Donna was born and raised in Vandergrift and had a deep love for her town. She was active in her community and an inspiration to many. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Vandergrift, a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Stars, and participated in the CB Club. She was instrumental in starting the Vandergrift Lancer cheerleading program and was a leader in the Girl Scouts. Donna was a volunteer advocate for the Hope Center, Sunday School teacher at the United Methodist Church, and volunteered with every organization that her children and grandchildren were involved in.
Donna leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion for her family, friends, and community. When you needed a listening ear, Donna's door was always opened. The hole left by Donna's absence will be impossible to fill.
Donna is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen (Montrez) Moreland of Indiana and Laurie Henry of Vandergrift; two grandchildren, Nathen (Harli) Henry of Vandergrift and Marissa Moore of Indiana; three great-grandchildren: Madelynn, Easton, and Ariel; her brother, Harry (Sheryl-deceased) (Donna) Cleveland of Oklahoma Boro;  and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Donna is preceded in death by her husband, Steven Pirhalla Jr. and her brother, James Cleveland (wife Virginia Sue, surviving).

Along with her husband, she started an internet company, which brought the internet to the Kiski Valley in 1996 and grew to the 5th largest internet provider in Western Pennsylvania. She enjoyed photography, but her true passion was her family.
Amy is survived by her husband of 33 years Christopher Myers, her son, Gilchrist (Mallory) Myers of Flower Mound, TX; her daughter, Kaitlin (Kaleb) Jones of Stow, OH, her sister, Nancy (Michael) Everest of Santa Barbara, CA, nieces and nephews Thomas, Erika, Elena, Matthias. Her mother and father-in-law Steve and Gloria Myers of Leechburg, PA.
She was preceded in death by her mother Susan Ahlheim Palm.

He spent a great deal of his life doing what he loved as a career for Sailor Excavation & Paving Co.
Tim was an avid outdoorsman and an accomplished hunter. Spending time in the woods hunting with his son on the mountain belonging to his grandparents was one of his many favorite pastimes. His favorite memories came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren as he was, and always will be, a beloved Pappy. He enjoyed cookouts, fireworks, finding ways to make his family laugh and board games of every kind. Especially, YAHTZEE with the love of his life, Stacey.
Tim is survived by his wife, Stacey Palmer Croyle; his daughters, Cangie (Thomas) Croyle-Wood of WV and Aimee (Larry) Shields of Greensburg; his son, Timothy (Madison) Croyle of Latrobe; and four grandchildren: Preston, Owen, Kennedy and Emery. He is also survived by the Palmer siblings, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, who have always treated him as one of their own.
He is proceeded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Eda Mae Croyle of Cowansville, PA with whom he spent every summer of his youth.
The family would also like to thank Hempfield Manor in Greensburg, PA and its staff for their unwavering support, kindness, and care.

Harold and his wife, Hazel, fostered many children and always had a house full of love to care for them all.
Harold is survived by two sons, Clark (Lisa) Cribbs of Vandergrift and Cory (Tiffany) Cribbs of Kittanning; nine grandchildren: Ashley, Clark II, Elysia, Cherish, Elegance, Zephaniah, Cody, Christian, and Chayton; six great-grandchildren: Holly, Sophia, Everly, Wyatt, River, and Freya; and one sister, Lee Keagle of Kittanning.

She was our superhero and will be missed by her family, friends, neighbors, and her Calico cat, Summer.
Dee is survived by her son, Keith (Melissa) Tola of Hyde Park; her two daughters, Elaine (Chad) Kestner of Freeport and Dawn (David) George of New Kensington; seven grandchildren: Denae, Douglas, Cami, Kamiya. Dustin, Alexis, and CJ Thomas; one great-grandchild on the way; her two sisters, Ella Jean Eye of Ohio and Janet Crosby of Vandergrift; and many nieces and nephews.
