Pauline M. Miller - July 12, 1929 - May 02, 2024

Departed: 05/02/2024 (Peckville)
Obituary Preview: Pauline Miller, May 2, 2024
Pauline Miller 94, of Jessup, passed away Tuesday May 2nd at the Carbondale Nursing Home while continuing to rehab from an earlier heart surgery and other ongoing health complications. Always strong, always ready to take on life’s challenges without much complaint, her body finally let her down. She was up and dressed to tackle another day, then peacefully fell back asleep for the last time.
Born in Jessup she was the daughter of the late Mary Miller. She was a graduate of St. Michael’s Catholic School and Jessup High School. She was employed at Skottie Electronics and H+E Sportswear, in Jessup, until her retirement.
Pauline is survived by her late cousin Joseph Lokay’s living children — Jeannette Lokay, Joseph (Susan) Lokaj, Mary Lokay, and Jean Lokay — and her late cousin Edward’s family, particularly wife Jeanette “Ginger“ Miller who spoke with her daily until the end.
Pauline was a joy to anyone who got to know her. The granddaughter of immigrants, she was as hardworking and resilient as they came, yet kind and generous to a fault. When her cousin Joe, who was more of a big brother who grew up in the house next door, lost his mother too soon, Pauline and her mother became more of an Aunt and a Grandmother to Joe’s children. The children never forgot their kindnesses, particularly the big boxes of Christmas presents early on, and later the effort made to travel to attend weddings when possible. She remained close with her cousins while they were alive, and kept up with news of their children and children’s children.
The funeral will be held at a later date at St. Michael’s Church, Queen of Angels parish, with interment in the family plot in St. Michael's Slovak Roman Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Margotta Funeral Home. For online condolences go to www.margottafuneralhomes.com.
