Obituary Preview: Linda “Faye” Etheridge , age 58, passed away peacefully on Thursday September 8th, 2022 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, New Jersey; after fighting a long battle with stage IV breast cancer. Linda was born August 23, 1964 in Greensboro, North Carolina to James Ruffin and Clara Mae Etheridge and later grew up in Freehold Boro, New Jersey . She attended Freehold Boro High School, where she met her future husband, Craig Daniels; and was a part of the graduating class of 1982. In 1986, Linda and Craig had their first child together, a son named Craig “C.J.” Daniels Jr. On July 15, 1990 the couple married and later welcomed their daughter, Ashley Daniels, into the world.

During that time, Linda took an interest in children and began working as a teacher at St. Peter's Church Preschool located in downtown Freehold Boro . Throughout the years, Linda continued to work with children, touching hundreds of families and their children throughout the community. Linda continued sharing her heart with the Freehold Boro community; working at Head Start Preschool, and Park Avenue Elementary School where she served as a cafeteria aide.

Her giving heart continued to soar throughout Monmouth County as she had taken on a new interest in serving the community as a whole. With her new interest, Linda began working at Catholic Charities: Linkages Transitional Housing Program assisting families in need of emergency transitional housing. Despite her fear of computer technology, she ambitiously took on a job as a telephone operator working at Monmouth County Division of Social Services where she assisted clients in Monmouth County. After her initial diagnosis of stage IV breast cancer in 2019, she soon returned to work and transitioned to the scanning department.

Linda lived her life to the fullest despite her situation, a true representation of learning how to dance in the rain and dance she did! She enjoyed spending time with her family, bestfriends, childhood friends, new formed friendships, and coworkers. She loved purple, her Dodge Challenger, vacations, taking thousands of pictures, talking on the phone, social media, making her famous potato and tuna salad, planning outings, going to parties and dancing as it was her way to keep connected to everyone ; making memories to last a lifetime.

Linda is predeceased by her father James Ruffin, her Dad Leonard “L.C.” Shuler, her mother in law Jweda Daniels, and her granddog Peewee. Linda is survived by her mother Clara Mae Shuler, and two children Craig “C.J.” Daniels Jr., and Ashley Daniels and her future son in law Sean Howard, her ex husband Craig Daniels Sr, and her former in laws Ewanna and Earline Daniels, her sisters; Melissa, Monica, and Melody Shuler, her brothers; Leonard, Lavaris, Lamont, and Lateef Shuler, and James and Gerald Ruffin, her many nieces and nephews from the Shuler, Ruffin, and Daniels families, godchildren,cousins as well to surviving family and granddogs Vinnie and Frankie.

Diane Luckey - December 12, 1962 - July 19, 2022

Obituary Preview: Diane Luckey was born in Neptune, New Jersey on December 12, 1962 to parents James and WillaMae Luckey.  The second youngest of seven siblings, Diane grew up in Neptune and attended Neptune High School and Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. Following in the footsteps of her parents and sisters, Diane loved music and singing from a very young age and was part of the Mount Pisgah Youth Choir.  After seeing the Broadway musical, “Bubbling Brown Sugar” in New York City while on a class field trip, she decided that she wanted to dedicate her life to singing. She moved to New York City when she was eighteen and immediately started working at Sigma Sounds Studio as a backup singer and writing jingles for commercials.  Shortly thereafter, she started writing songs, recording music, and headlining concerts under the name Q Lazzarus. Diane was a multi-talented instrumentalist, writing lyrics and singing, playing guitar and piano and producing as well. Diane’s song “Goodbye Horses,” became an instant hit, which generated a large following that continues to this day.  She appeared in the movie Philadelphia during a party scene with Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington, singing the Talking Heads song “Heaven.”   Diane also spent several years in London where she fronted the rock and roll band Q Lazzarus where she wrote dozens of songs and toured the United Kingdom.  She also performed at and hosted many parties at large clubs and arenas in London and collaborated with her friend Danny Z on house music tracks when back in the United States. At the time of her death, Diane was finishing work on a feature documentary about her life and music with filmmaker and friend, Eva Aridjis.  The film will be released in 2023, along with an album of songs spanning her entire musical career. Diane was a big-hearted, fun-loving and passionate woman who loved traveling, adventure, music, cooking and people.  Amongst her other transformative experiences was a six-month stint on a fishing boat in Alaska, and a long trip through South America with a friend.  She had a great sense of humor, loved to tell stories and jokes, and also had a unique and wonderful style of dress that was all her own.  She was fiercely devoted to her family, children, and friends, and was also a devout Baptist.  Diane will be sorely missed by all of those who knew her.  She lit up the room and turned heads everywhere she went and has always been a larger than life legend in the music world. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, James and WillieMae and by her sister, Sharon.  She is survived by her husband Robert Lange of Staten Island, New York, her son James Luckey Lange of Staten Island, New York and daughter Sayydina of Santa Barbara, California; her sisters Abbie Luckey of Clementon, New Jersey, and Debbie Luckey and her husband, Walter Walker of Ewing, New Jersey; her brothers Jimmy Luckey and his wife, Sharon Luckey of Neptune, New Jersey, Garen Luckey of Asbury Park, New Jersey and Michael Luckey and his wife, Sharon Luckey of Yeadon, Pennsylvania; nephews Deron Luckey of Asbury Park, New Jersey, Dereck Luckey of Neptune, New Jersey and Garen Luckey, Jr. of Toms River, New Jersey and brother in law, Bucky Jones of Neptune NJ.  She is also survived by numerous other relatives, friends and collaborators.

William was born January 29, 1958, in Neptune, New Jersey at Fitkins Hospital now Jersey Shore University Medical Center to the late William and Willie Mae Walker, Sr.

June as he was affectionately known, was a graduate of the Asbury Park High School and a true BLUE BISHOP. June was often seen on the field at any Asbury Park sporting event. He was also an Asbury Park Little League Baseball coach and loved teaching the children the fundamentals of baseball and football. June worked at Dunkin Donuts, Sir Jeans Barbershop, and the Department of Public Works.

June was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and often reached out to family members near and far to brag, weather the Cowboys won or loss. June also loved his bike and would be seen everywhere on it. Without his bike, there would be no June.

June is predeceased by his parents William and Willie Mae Walker and his sisters Doris and Elizabeth Walker. He leaves to cherish his memories one daughter April Sanders, his brother Billy Day (Carolyn), sister Joanne Brown, significant other Allison Orr, a special friend Marshall from St. Stephens AME Church and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
