He was a former employee of Cooper Standard of New Lexington and Leckrone Sanitation of Shawnee. He loved His Dog Daisey, who was always by his side, and he was a diehard Pink Floyd fan and enjoyed hunting.
Besides his mother he is survived by his children Sarah McClain, Jessica McClain, Katie McClain, Stephen “Bub” McClain, and Larry “Peanut” McClain; sister Connie Moore and brother Bill “Buzz” McClain; his companion Daisey; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Cremation will take place and a private family burial will be conducted at a later date.

Besides his mother he was preceded in death by his grandparents James Junior Morrison, Judy Foster, Russell Foster, Butch Anderson, Frank Strickland, Garnett and Clyde Myers.

John is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Janet (Shepherd) Ivan, daughter Tammy (Paul) Miller, and son, Allen (Ona) Ivan, grandchildren, Paul, Dustan, Barbie, Jason, Brittney and Emily; sisters, Mary Rose and Georgianne; brother Vernon, and 16 great grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his father and mother John and Minnie Belle Ivan Sr., and infant son Donnie Ivan.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years David Starlin; daughter Janice Kay; son Tom Starlin, grandson David Winchell; son-in-law Randy Hermey; brother Denzel Mahon; and sisters Juanita Erwin and Beverly Moore.

Obituary Preview: Jay William Brooks, 73, of Nelsonville passed away at his home, East Clayton Farm, on 2-22-22 after a long, honorable battle with Alzheimer’s.
Jay was born June 13, 1948 in Lancaster, Ohio. He was a son of the late John and Gloria (Hoodlett) Brooks. After graduating from Nelsonville High School in 1966, Jay turned down a football scholarship in order to join the United States Marine Corp and serve in the Vietnam War. Jay returned to Nelsonville to join his family business, William Brooks’ Shoe, later known as Rocky Boots, retiring after 36 years in sales. He was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, the VFW, and the Amvets.
Jay was a man of integrity who never shied away from hard work or a good time. He was extraordinarily generous and kind. He had a great sense of humor and loved life. Family was of highest importance to Jay.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Mary Michelle (Miki Kiener) Brooks; children Shawn (Erin) Fraunfelter, Jacob Brooks, and Sydney (Matt) Gottwald; brothers Mike (Pam) Brooks and Stuart (Denise) Brooks; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Barbara Fuller and Patricia Robey.

He was born September 10, 1957, in Logan a son of the late Robert W. and Janice M. Thress Bartley.
Dale was a United States Marine Corp. veteran and was know for his love of the outdoors and having a green thumb. Dale suffered paralysis from an accident at the age of 27 but he never allowed the injuries to prevent him from living a full life.
He is survived by 3 sisters Sue (David) Binkley, Linda (Doug) Jones and Michelle (Rob) Epply; brother Ron Bartley; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters Diane Bartley and Teresa Vernon; his brother’s Robert W. Jr. and Billy Bartley.

Bill was retired from Buckingham Coal and was a former employee of Selkirk Metalbestos for 29 years. He loved Hunting, farming, and time with his family and friends, and he never met a stranger.
Bill is survived by his wife of 35 years, Susan (White) Spergin, children, Megan (Ryan Neal) Spergin and Belford Donald Spergin III; brothers Bobby (Connie) Spergin and Scott Spergin; sisters Sharon (Larry) Babbs, Beverly (Bill) Hooper, Barbara Merckle, Thonia Baker, and Lessia (Bob) Canter; several nieces, and nephews, special friend Dale Evrard and his little buddy Zayden Neal.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his father and mother- in -law Chuck and Ruth White; brothers in law Ron Merckle and Larry Baker.

Born January 17, 1958, in Columbus, Ohio, Cindy was a daughter of the late Mack Columbus Wells and Lue “Vernie” McCullum.
Cindy spent the larger portion of her adult life caring for children. She was notorious for helping anyone in need. Known as “Grandma” to most, she was also very respected by her peers.
After helping to raise her grandchildren, she continued to raise her great grandchildren through her final days. She was a dedicated mother and even more devoted grandmother. She will be missed immensely.
Cindy is survived by her children James (Terra) Bright Jr.  of Lancaster, Ohio; Tonya (George Carr) Bright of Corning, Ohio; William (Sunny) Bright of North Carolina; 9 grandchildren Kailah, Devin, Khyle, Gaven and Braxton Bright; Anna Carr; Colton, Isaac and Elyza Plumley; three great grandchildren Kamilah, James and Aidan Bright; two brothers and one sister; three nieces; three nephews; and numerous others whose life she impacted throughout her years on Earth.
She was preceded in death by her grandson William Caudill IV, great granddaughter Braelyn Grace Bright, and brother Billy Wells.
The family will gather to celebrate her life on December 4, 2021. Calling will be held from noon until 2 PM at the JE HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME, SHAWNEE, Ohio. A brief funeral service will be held at 2 PM.

Curt married his high school sweetie Barbara Sue Bernard on July 24, 1964, and they were blessed with five children. They made their home in Corning where Curt served the community for over fifty years on the Corning Volunteer Fire Dept and was the fire chief for 49 years.
Curt had many interests over the years, ranging from riding horses to riding Harleys, coon hunting, races and fishing. Curt also enjoyed planting a garden for his family, but the deer thought it was all for them.
Curtiss is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barb, their children; Ronnie ( Danielle) Bragg; Amy ( Mike) Murphy; Deborah Bragg and Adam ( Sarah) Bragg; grandchildren Corey Murphy, Joseph Murphy, Abby ( Taylor) Russell and Parry Bragg, great- grandchildren Oaklyn and Jacobie Russell.
In Addition to his parents Curt was preceded in death by his eldest son Todd Bragg.
In keeping with his Wishes Curtiss was cremated.
