Feshaun Ebony Thompson - March 27, 1994 - April 18, 2024

Departed: 04/18/2024 (Hyattsville)
Obituary Preview: Feshaun "Shaunie" Ebony Thompson was born on March 27, 1994, in Washington, DC to Feseha Wolde and Vickie Bowens. At age six, Shaunie moved into the care of her uncle and aunt, Anthony and Hirut Thompson, and they became her legal guardians. Shaunie was legally adopted into the family on November 15, 2006, when she was 10 and became their oldest daughter.
During her early education, Shaunice attended Orr Elementary School in Washington, DC before transferring to Gaywood Elementary School in Lanham, MD. She continued her education at Hyattsville Middle School (Gifted and Talented Program) in Hyattsville, MD, DuVal High School in Greenbelt, MD, and New Hope Academy, International Private School in Hyattsville, MD.
Shaunie was a loving, forgiving, and kindest person who walked this earth. She possessed a heart of gold that shone in every circumstance of life. She loved her family and friends and would give and do anything to bring joy and happiness to others. The beauty of her love was unfettered and had no boundaries.
Shaunie's love for others was an extension of her love for God. She was introduced to God by her parents Anthony and Hirut as they faithfully taught the Word of God through their faith walk. Later in 2000, in Vacation Bible School, she was challenged to accept Christ as her Lord and Savior. At that moment, Shaunie professed her faith and was guided by her teacher Savannah Jackson at New Song Bible Fellowship (NSBFC).
In response to her relationship with Christ, Shaunie regularly attended Sunday school and Wednesday Bible Study classes. She was a member of the NSBF Children's Choir and the Victory Dance Ministry at the church. Her ministry extended beyond singing and dancing for God. It also included helping those in need through the Missions Ministry, a significant part of her life. Serving with World Changers took her to Puerto Rico and Alaska, as well as Nova Scotia and Canada, as part of the Have Christ Will Travel program. The NSBFC youth ministry also provided Shaunie with opportunities to participate in local missions including a week-long Christian Youth Camp CITIKIDZ SB2DUB during the summer.
In her free time, Shaunie enjoyed spending time with her family. Her favorite pastimes included Daddy/Daughter dates, whether they talked on the phone, visited local restaurants, drove to Philly for a steak and cheese meal, or got a manicure and pedicure together. No matter what we did for her or with her, she always made sure to let us know how grateful she was for what we had done.
The lovely Feshaun "Shaunie" Ebony Thompson's young life took her in many different directions throughout her short life here on earth. And on April 18, 2024, God in His sovereignty, called her to Himself. The precious memories of her life will forever be cherished by her parents Anthony and Hirut Thompson; biological parents, Feseha Wolde and Vickie Bowens; sisters, Sasha Thompson, Fayvin Bowens, and Victoria Bowens; brother, Jeremiah Bowens; grandparents, Tirunesh Woldemariam and Sandra Thompson; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and other relatives; and many friends, too numerous to mention.
May Shaunie’s soul rest in peace and may her memories live on in the hearts of those who loved and cared for her. She will always be remembered for the joy she brought to everyone. Shaunie's witty personality, corny jokes, beautiful smiles, and cuddly hugs will be missed.
