Obituary Preview: Etta E. Wallace, 85, of Barnett formerly of Boonville passed away surrounded by her family Sunday, April 17, 2022, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehab.
Visitation for Etta will be Wednesday, April 20, 2022, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Howard Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ken Tounzen officiating, Burial will follow in Boonville Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Etta E. Wallace was born August 4, 1936, the daughter of Charles and Cluster (Williams) Agent. She married Billy Wallace in Mississippi November 18, 1955. Etta stayed home taking care of her children, then began working as a homecare provider for the elderly. She enjoyed spending her time sewing, crocheting, and quilting. Her favorite memories were with her family camping, she loved going camping and spending time outdoors. Etta’s fun, loving personality will be forever missed.
Etta was preceded in death by her parents, husband Billy Wallace, brothers Gene, Ollie, and Pate Agent, sisters Ann Holman and Dorann Agent, and son Donald Wallace. She is survived by her daughters Rhonda Russell of Barnett, MO, Karen Hyde of Granite City, IL, and Terry Townsend of Cottage Hill, IL, 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Billie Sue Salzman was born December 26, 1964 the daughter of William and Lena (Custer) Salzman. Billie enjoyed cooking and baking especially for family gatherings. She would listen to loud music and enjoyed life. Billie loved Prince, Elvis Presley and Jax Teller from Son’s of Anarchy. She was a caregiver by nature, she worked as a nurse's aide and took care of her children at home. Billie was a jokester, she loved to pull pranks on everyone. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Billie’s joking, loving personality will be forever missed.
Billie is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Randall “Randy” Salzman, Russell “Rusty” Salzman and numerous aunts and uncles. She is survived by her daughters Linzie and Tara Salzman, sisters Judy Thacker and Jeannie Samer, grandchildren Jayden, Malena, and Jaxson Salzman and Lyla and William Hein and numerous cousins.

Visitation for Lois will be 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday April 13th at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with a funeral service following at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Lois Maxine Shaw was born November 19, 1932, in Boonville, MO., the daughter of Harry Hein and Golda Carey Hein. She was baptized as an infant and confirmed March 30, 1949, at Zion Lutheran Church, Lone Elm. The family moved their membership to Immanuel Lutheran Church in 1949, where she remained a member until her death. She graduated from Boonville High School in 1950 and from Kidwell School of Cosmetology in 1964. She married Eugene (Rusty) Shaw June 20, 1953, and they were the parents of one daughter, Gwen.
She was secretary for the Boonville Public Schools for 40 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Immanuel’s Choir and Lutheran’s Women’s Missionary League where she served as Secretary for several years. Lois loved to sew, quilt, crochet and crafting.
Lois’s family and friends would like to thank Dr. Robert Koch, Riverdell Care Center and Hometown Hospice for their excellent care for her.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Golda, husband Rusty and daughter, Gwen.

Lea Ann Bulen was born November 24, 1956, in Kansas City, MO., the daughter of Charles Bulen, Sr. and Judith May Wilson. She graduated from Bunceton High School and worked for the Boonville Correctional Center. She cherished her family and loved her friends dearly, spending all of the time she could with them. She will be remembered for her frequent trips to The Dollar Tree and to Sonic for Ice Waters with “lots of ice.” Lea Ann was an animal lover and will be missed her fur babies, Bart and Lily.
Lea Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Charles, Sr. and Judith, and brother, Bobby. She is survived by her daughter, Meagan (Tyler) Imhoff of Boonville, MO., brothers, Charlie Bulen, of Kansas City, MO., Terry Bulen of Boonville, MO., Nathan Bulen of Kansas City, MO., sister, Brenda Thurman of Bunceton, MO., Carlena Mitchell of Boonville, MO., and Ruby Schoen of Marshall, MO. Also surviving are grandchildren, Kielann Sapp and Karver Imhoff, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Louise Friedrich was born April 14, 1933, the daughter of Wilbur and Hattie (Mabrey) Bishop. She graduated from Boonville High School in 1951. Louise married the love of her life Robert C. Friedrich February 15,1952, to this union three sons were born James Wayne, John Michael, and Tony Dale. She worked as the secretary of the superintendent and school board for 30 plus years. Louise was an active member of the St. John’s UCC Church, she participated in the Women’s Guild, vacation bible school as well as many various other activities. Vacation bible school was always a special time for her, she had all of her grandchildren over to stay that week so everyone could participate. Louise enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and traveling with her husband Robert. She was also known for her famous blackberry pie. Louise’s fun, loving personality will be forever missed.
Louise is preceded in death by her parents, sister Betty Ann Gilliam, brother Charles W. Bishop and grandson Joshua Friedrich. She is survived by her husband Robert Friedrich, sons James (Nancy), John (Stacie), and Tony (Carolyn) Friedrich, and sister-in-law Betty Jane Bishop.  She also leaves behind grandchildren Suzanne (Aric) Pearson, Alison (Zach) Braddy, Christine (Jacob Corbin), Daniel (Melissa), and Esther Friedrich and great grandchildren William, Samuel, Theodore and Charles Braddy, Lucas, Benjamin and Maisie Friedrich and Adrienne Pearson and numerous close nieces and nephews.

George Lawrence Buck was born February 3, 1958 in Southport, Lancashire, England to Harold and Freda Buck. George married Alexis Nixon April 28, 2004. George’s first job as a teenager working for a farmer who raised potatoes and garden vegetables, this job was the start of a life-long love for gardening. He then went on to own his own business making sandwiches for the workers in Preston, U.K. George joined the British Army and traveled to Germany and Canada. After serving in the Army, he then continued serving as a psychiatric nurse. After his nursing career he went on to purse computer science before coming to the United States. He was a man of many traits and his loving personality will be forever missed.
George is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Maurice and Derek Buck. He is survived by his wife Alexis Nixon of Wooldridge, MO, daughters Sarah and Leah Buck of England, step-son Jesse (Tiffany) Bowers of Wooldridge, MO, sister Patricia Buck of England, and grandchildren Jaxsen and Jacqueline Bowers.

Frank Aldridge Hunter Jr. was born January 17, 1956, the son of Frank Aldridge Sr. and Dorothy (Casper) Hunter. He married Pam Fitzgerald May 12, 1972; in this union they had a son Frank William “Butch” Hunter. Frank was in the US Army for 3 years. Frank enjoyed hunting especially mushroom and arrowhead hunting. He also enjoyed fishing and collecting butterflies, he had a love for animals. Frank raised various breeds of chickens, a peacock and various flowers and plants; he had a green thumb like you have never seen. He was loved by so many and will be dearly missed.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents and brother Samuel “Sammy” Kosfeld Jr. He is survived by his son Frank William “Butch” (Jonelyn) Hunter of Fayette, sister Linda (Larry) Grissum of Boonville, companion Pam Fitzgerald, grandchildren Kortney (Zane) Nichols, Pamela-Sue (Douglas Barton) Hunter, and Arizona Blue (Justin Terrell) Hunter, and great grandchildren Emersyn and Beau Nichols and baby Kaydence Terrell on the way. He also leaves behind niece January (Kevin) Wadeen, nephew August (Lindsey) Friedrich, three great nephews and two great nieces.

Kelly Gene Elliott was born April 6, 1950, the son of Benjamin Homer and Nancy “Hazel” (Stewart) Elliott. He graduated from Pilot Grove High School in 1968. Kelly married the love of his life Marilyn Gerling April 14, 1973, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Boonville and the Knights of Columbus Council 1061. Kelly proudly worked for the University Hospital for 40 years.  He was always busy helping people, fixing mowers or taking car rides. Kelly never knew a stranger. Kelly’s children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Kelly is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Norman, Benjamin “Benny” and Melvin Elliott, sister Judy Wainscott-Elliott, and grandson Hunter Johnson. He is survived by his wife Marilyn of the home, daughters Monica Elliott of Boonville, Jennifer Elliott of Columbia, Melissa Elliott of Boonville, and Jessica (Greg) Johnson of Boonville, grandchildren Elijah Gier, Andrea Jackson, Brianna Walker, Kaitlyn Koranteng- Elliott, Gavin Johnson, Dalton Johnson, Addison Johnson, and Ava Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty Joan Booker was born August 19, 1929 the daughter of Robert and Ruth (McMahn) Kueckelhan. She married the love of her life Vernon Booker December 1, 1950 at the Presbyterian Church in Boonville. Joan was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell until her retirement. She was a member of the MNO sewing club and the Order of Eastern Star. Joan enjoyed quilting, gardening, playing cards, and camping. She also had a love of cars. Joan’s favorite time was spent with family, she especially enjoyed cooking for all of them. Joan was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Ruth Kueckelhan, brothers Phillip, Roger and Robert Kueckelhan, sisters Katharine Alexander and Cammie Kueckelhan. She is survived by her husband Vernon Booker of the home, sons David (Terry) Booker, and Monte Booker, daughters Betty Booker and Tawnya (Clay) Hollon, and brother Raymond (Roberta) Kueckelhan. Lewis Clifford Odneal - September 16, 1926 - March 20, 2022

Obituary Preview: The end of an era, Lewis Clifford Odneal, aka, papa Lou, Lewboy, Louie the cat, and grandpa, passed away on Sunday, March 20,2022.
Visitation for Lewis will be held at Howard's Funeral Chapel on Thursday, March 24th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.  Funeral services will be held on Friday morning, March 25th at 10:00 am at the Prairie Home Methodist Church with Pastor Don Almond officiating.  Burial will follow at Clayton Cemetery in Overton, MO.
Lewis was born in Prairie Home on September 16, 1926 to William L and Lowell Odneal.  He was the oldest of five children. Lewis graduated from Prairie Home High School in 1944 and enlisted into the Army.  After his enlistment, Lewis enrolled into Central College in Fayette, MO to study theology.  During this time he met the great love of his life, Dorothy Irene Wolfe, who was working at the candy counter of Mattingly's store in Boonville.  While they may have been poor in the early days of their marriage, they soon became rich with the love of children:  Sharon, Karen, Dan, Steve, Joe and Teresa.
After graduation from Central College, Lewis and Dot packed up their three little children and moved to Texas where Lewis entered post-graduate studies at Perkins Seminary at Southern Methodist University to become an ordained Methodist Minister.
Lewis had a long and distinctive career serving multiple churches (large and small, city and rural).  He was active in the Masons for over 50 years, amassing numerous stations and awards, including the highest Masonic award for Beneficence.  Lewis was also active in multiple community programs, such as the Lion's Club and Rotary Club.  After retirement, Lewis traveled to the Dominican Republic twice to help build schools and churches.  Lewis' life was one of giving and support to his fellow man.  His passing has left a huge hole that will take many to fill.
Lewis was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dot, his parents, his brothers, Norman and Kelly Odneal, his sisters, Erla Lacy and Joanne Hart and his oldest son, Dan (Alice) Odneal.  He is survived by five of his six children:  Sharon Pyeatte, Karen Sharp, Steve (Tracy) Odneal, Joe Odneal, and Teresa (Kurt) Meyer, ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren.

Debra Elaine Serck was born August 26, 1954, in Boonville, the daughter of Linn and Ethel (Brizendine) Wiser. She married Stanley Serck July 2, 2005. Debra worked many jobs throughout her life including Kemper Military School, Boonville Daily News, Mid-Missouri printing and worked for various realtors. She enjoyed spending time outside in her flower garden, traveling and going out to eat. Debra’s favorite time was spent with her family and being a Nana to her grandchildren.
Debra is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jerry Wiser, Larry Wiser, Ray Wiser, and Tex Wiser, sisters Joyce Ellis and Joann Schooler. She is survived by her husband Stan of the home, son Seth (Patricia) Bailey, daughter Christa (Jeff) Wilmsmeyer, brothers Ricky and Roy Wiser, sisters Emily Peterman and Patricia Delius, and sisters-in-law Martha and Sally Wiser. She also leaves behind grandchildren Clayton and Connor Wilmsmeyer, Margaret, Jackson, and Theodore Bailey and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jill Marie Stafford was born November 28, 1944, in Seymour, Indiana the daughter of William Lee Sr. and Mildred Lorene (Vaughn) Shattuck. Jill married James A. Stafford in St. Louis on January 7, 1967. Jill was a member of the First Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. She was a reliable, loyal, and independent person. She would paint her house, fix the deck, or even check the roof although she knew she shouldn’t on her own. Jill enjoyed gardening, painting, playing the recorder, organ, auto harp, sewing, knitting, cooking, and participating in the Civil War reenactments. She was an animal lover. Jill was a sweet, generous, beautiful human and if you were down on your luck she would in any way. Jill was classy, she always went the extra mile with her jewelry making sure it dazzled. Her love to conversate created new friendships, she will be so dearly missed.
Jill is preceded in death by her parents William and Mildred Shattuck, husband James A. Stafford, brother William “Bill” Stafford Jr. and sister Nancy Kaye Shattuck. She is survived by her son Seann (Shelley) Stafford of Cottage Grove, OR, daughter Erin (Mike) Sinoway of Salt Lake City, UT, half sister Margaret Oliver of Avondale, CO and grandchildren Eion Thomas and Finley James Stafford.

Obituary Preview: Deloris Murphy Stephenson Patton was born March 11, 1936, in Albany Missouri to Retha Siddens Murphy and Thomas Dale Murphy. She wed J. Marshall Patton on June 27th, 1981, and they lived on his family farm in Albany until 1991. They co-managed two independent living facilities until they moved to Boonville in 1993.
She is survived by Marshall of the home, and son Eric Dale Stephenson of Independence MO and stepdaughter Jennifer Patton Braun (Chad) with grandchildren Hannah, Silas, Asa & Ella Braun. She is also survived by three sisters; Pat (AJ) McComas of Princeton; Donna (CE) Thomas of Stanberry; and Norma (Robert) James of Montgomery, TX. Also, three sisters-in-law of Topeka, KS, St. Joseph, and Carrollton; along with six nieces and three nephews.
Deloris loved cooking all her life and worked for Federal Land Bank for 27 years. Lawson Equipment for 2 years. She got her real estate license and sold ads for KWRT. She worked at Guarantee Land Title when they moved to Boonville. She enjoyed volunteering for the Cooper County Hospital Auxiliary being a Pink Lady and Boonville Women’s Club and her church family of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Boonville.
Visitation will be at 10:00 am on Friday March 11 at First Christian Church with a celebration of life starting at 11:00 am. Her committal service will be at Grandview Cemetery in Albany Missouri on Saturday March 12th at 11:00 am.

Mildred Jean Lamm - June 02, 1925 - March 05, 2022

Obituary Preview: As a result of a brief illness, Jean Lamm, age 96 years and nine months, passed way at Clinton Healthcare and Rehab in Clinton, MO on March 5, 2022 after living a long and loving life.  Jean moved to Clinton in 2019 to be nearer her daughter, Sharon.
Mildred Jean (Pfeiffer) Lamm was born at home to Mattie Bell (Simmons) Pfeiffer and Lawrence John Pfeiffer on June 2, 1925 in Prairie Home, Missouri. Jean considered herself a “tomboy” and loved playing outside with her younger brother J. L. Pfeiffer.  During her school years, she participated in softball and basketball.  She often said she would rather play ball than eat. Jean graduated from Prairie Home High School in 1943.
She attended college and earned a teaching certificate from Central Missouri State College in Warrensburg, MO. Jean had a life long passion for learning and enjoyed participating and watching Jeopardy in her later years.  After graduation, Jean taught school in a one room schoolhouse in Wooldridge, MO.  While there she met the love of her life and future husband, H.S. Lamm.  This “meeting” was arranged by some of her students who were also nieces and nephews of H.S.  After H.S. returned from WW II, Jean and H.S. Lamm Jr. were married on February 7, 1946 in Prairie Home, MO.  They had five children, Sharon, Henry III, Carol Ann, Freddie and Greg.
Jean and H.S. lived and worked on their farm in Wooldridge where Jean tended a large garden, raised chickens for eating and cared for what she called her five little lambs.  She helped hoe soybeans, paint fences, feed farm hands and herd cattle.  Later in life she often commented that herding cattle was one of her least favorite activities.
In 1976 Jean and H. S. sold the farm and moved to Boonville with their son Greg. Greg lived with and helped his parents for many years.  Jean and H.S. enjoyed bowling and traveling all over the USA during retirement. With farming in their blood, the two also raised a large garden during retirement.  Jean was an active member of the Wooldridge Baptist Church and later the Boonville First Baptist Church where she helped with the Music Makers group. Jean served the five points of the Order of the Eastern Star as well as Conductress and Worthy Grand Matron.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Fae Pfeiffer Brandes, Nelson Pfeiffer, Aileen Pfeiffer Odneal, and J. L. Pfeiffer, her daughter, Carol Ann, her grandson, Robert Craig Thoma and several nieces and nephews.  She is survived by four of her children, seven grandchildren including Chad Thoma, Christine Whitley (Ervin) and Clayton Whitley, Elaine Lamm, Henry (Hank) Lamm IV, Rachel Lamm, Sarah Lamm, ten great-grandchildren including Josh and Jake Thoma, Rhiannon Thoma, Allison and Brianna Whitley, Jackson, Leo, Violet, Hazel and Henry Ervin, and one great-great grandson, Calvin Thoma.

Dennis John Herigon was born December 4, 1957, the son of Ernest and Gertrude (Morrison) Herigon. Denny graduated from Boonville High School in 1976. He married Karen Nowlin December 12, 1997, they went on a blind date in 1994 and were together ever since. Denny enjoyed working, he liked carpentry, remodeling or really anything working with his hands. He loved the outdoors; he would smoke meats and cook all the time. He watched the food channel on repeat. Denny also enjoyed living on the farm and tending to his animals. Denny’s family was his pride and joy, he loved family get togethers and spending time with his grandchildren. Poppie was his favorite title. Denny was loved by everyone and will be so dearly missed.
Denny is preceded in death by his father Ernest Herigon. He is survived by his wife Karen Herigon of Boonville, Mother Gertrude Herigon of Boonville, daughters Caycee (Brandon) Hodges of Pilot Grove, Caitlynd (Ryan) Weekley of Blackwater, sons Mitchell Acton of Columbia, and Michael (Liza) Acton of Boonville, brothers Steve (Sue Ann) Herigon of Columbia and Bill (Helen) Herigon of Fulton, and sister Marilyn (Bill) Geiger of Boonville. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, his beloved dog Libby and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dena was born on December 19, 1944, to Jodie and Marjorie (George) Sells in Prairie Home.  She graduated from Prairie Home High School in 1962.   Dena had a competitive spirit and excelled in sports playing high school basketball, softball and cheerleading.  Thru her brother Bob, she met and married the love of her life, Edward Taggart on July 18, 1964.   They lived in Prairie Home raising their two  daughters.
Dena’s family was the sole focus in her life.  She loved being surrounded by family, playing games, listening to music and laughing.  Her laugh was infectious and her squeals of delight and enthusiasm when playing games with her family made everyone laugh.  She adored her grandchildren, taking care of them, loving them, protecting them and always putting their needs and the needs of her family before her own.   Dena loved watching her daughters and grandchildren in all of their extracurricular activities and was so proud of their accomplishments.  She was an avid sports fan who loved watching college basketball and professional football.  She also enjoyed working and being outdoors. As a hobby, Dena made beautiful flower arrangements and wreaths for family and friends.  She was fiercely independent and a very private person who never wanted to worry others.  She was loved and will be dearly missed.
Dena is preceded in death by her parents, Jodie and Marjorie Sells, husband Edward Taggart, sister Jean Foster, and brothers Jimmy Sells and Jerry Sells. She is survived by her daughters Dana (David) Bailey and Heather Taggart, and three grandchildren, Lauren and Jackson Bailey and Camryn Cullmann, all of Lake St. Louis.  Dena also leaves behind brothers Bob Sells of Prairie Home, Wayne (Annette) Sells of Columbia, Donald (Brenda) Sells of Prairie Home, sisters-in-law Kay Sells and Glenda Sells, both of Prairie Home, and in-laws Nancy and James Farris of Lee Summit as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Linda Kay (Gilpin) Brown was born February 18, 1947, the daughter of Albert Vincel Gilpin and Dorothy Lee (Neal) Gilpin. She married V. Leroy Brown April 7, 1963. Linda worked at Walmart for 15 years. Linda loved blue grass gospel music, she would even host groups that came to town at her home. Linda would prepare for them to come and made sure to have all their favorite things, the most recent group was Alan Sibley and the Magnolia Ramblers (featured on RFD TV). Linda was the same way with her family, she loved them unconditionally and would do absolutely anything for them. Linda was always quiet but had a welcoming personality that made everyone comfortable and feel welcome. She was loved and will be so dearly missed.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, husband V. Leroy Brown, daughter Carol Brown, brothers Charles, Bobby, Leon, Harold, and Richard Gilpin, sisters Stella Wheeler, Gail Chipley, Margie Thurmond, and Romell Swindler. She worked at Colonial Manor as director of nursing, Boone Hospital in Surgical ICU, and as a house supervisor at Fitzgibbon hospital in Marshall, Missouri. She was an elder at First presbyterian Church in Boonville. Carol enjoyed sewing and quilting, she made many beautiful pieces for her family and friends. Carol was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be dearly missed.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents Bernell and Lena Adams, and brother Jay Thomas Adams. He also enjoyed going to his son’s shop Leather’s Auto to help Gary out when he needed it. Chunky was a sports fan, he loved anything sports but especially enjoyed the Kansas City Chiefs (even when they lost) and the MU Tigers. He was a simple man and liked doing little things such as tinkering with four wheelers or mowers and keeping his truck spotless. Chunky was a lifelong member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He was a family man, he loved to spend time with his family at the Lake of the Ozarks. Chunky’s dream was to own a Harley Davidson Motorcycle.
Chunky was preceded in death by his parents. She graduated from Crane High School in 1952. She married Albert Leo Imhoff on October 20, 1954, in Woodstock, Illinois. She was a member of S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She had various jobs, but lastly at Julie’s Boutique which she enjoyed. She loved to travel, especially to Israel, Jordan, Hawaii and taking cruises with her children and grandchildren. Patricia enjoyed watching birds and loved to fish in international waters.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Albert Imhoff, parents, four sisters, Inez McManus, Maxie Smart, Phyllis Biggs, Ruth B. DeWitt and their spouses, two brothers, Joe Gipson and Charlie Gipson and their spouses, and granddaughter, Elizabeth Bruce. She is survived by her four sons, Russell (Cheryl), Anthony (Michele), Philip (Lori) and Danny Joe (Deana) all of Boonville, MO., and daughter, Ruth Ann (Charlie) Bruce of Kansas City, MO. She will be missed by her eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
