Rebecca Loomis - December 13, 1965 - April 18, 2022

Departed: 04/18/2022 (Oldsmar)
Obituary Preview: Rebecca "Becky" Loomis passed away peacefully on Monday, April 18th, 2022, surrounded by her family. Born on December 13,1965, Becky was a lifelong Largo, Florida resident.
Becky loved nothing more than the large and loud gatherings she threw for her family, eating, playing games and being together. She was an avid music fan, attending live concerts and music festivals across the state. Many weekends she could be found either camping or attending one of the many sporting events in which her children and grandchildren were participating. An avid animal lover, she always had one of beloved dogs at her feet. When she had time alone, which wasn't often, she loved to curl up with a good crime story, spending the entire evening reading until she had "solved" the mystery.
A nurse for more than 30 years, Becky took great pride  in caring for her patients. It was not uncommon for her to develop personal bonds with patients and families. For most of her career, she cared for cancer patients, administering treatments with care and compassion, striving to improve the patient's health, but also working hard to ensure continued respect and dignity for those under her care.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Creig, daughters Jennifer and Stephanie, and sons Matthew and Michael, as well as seven grandchildren, her sister and two brothers. She was proceeded in death by her mouther, Ruby Humphress and her mother in law, Peggy Loomis.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Holloway Family Funeral Home in Oldsmar, Florida.

Obituary Preview: Arthur Adolph Giannetti December 8, 1935 – March 5, 2022
Arthur A. Giannetti passed away on March 5, 2022 at the age of 86. He was born on December 8, 1935 in Stafford Springs, Connecticut to Adolph and Florence Giannetti, and was the loving husband to June Giannetti for 63 years.
Following high school, Art enlisted in the US Air Force where he spent four years stationed in Newfoundland, Canada. He was an active member of the VFW and played a key role in establishing a local chapter in his hometown of Oldsmar, Florida.
Art always dreamed of living in California, and in 1972 he turned that dream into reality. With his family and a few belongings loaded in a station wagon, he headed west and set off on an adventure into the unknown that would last 25 years.
Art began his career in the banking industry where he worked as an auditor. After settling in southern California, he parlayed his financial knowledge into a successful career in the food service industry during which he ran a thriving food truck business.
After retirement, Art spent many years as a brand ambassador for Visit St. Pete Clearwater, sharing his wealth of knowledge of Pinellas County with hundreds of visitors and locals. Art was a huge sports fan and a storehouse of sports trivia, especially anything having to do with his favorite teams, the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. He always wanted to skydive, which he finally did to celebrate his 80th birthday. He just missed another of his goals to visit the 50 states, making it to all of them except Alaska.
Art’s passion for people was evident. His outgoing personality made him instantly likeable by everyone he encountered. He had friends on both coasts and everywhere in between. No matter where he was, he almost always encountered someone he knew and would immediately engage in friendly banter.
Art is survived by his wife, June Giannetti, of Oldsmar, Florida; two children: Lisa Dozois of Palm Harbor, Florida and Jeffrey Giannetti of Oldsmar, Florida; five grandchildren: Chris, Lea, Gina, Angela, and Victoria; and five great-grandchildren: Lily, Benson, Cole, Adelise, and Elias. He was preceded in death by his son Steven.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Veterans Memorial Park, 250 Shore Drive E, Oldsmar, Florida on Saturday, April 2 at 2:00 PM.
Art’s radiant smile and adventurous spirit will surely be missed. As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests you make a contribution in Art’s name to your church or the charity of your choosing.

Frances Louise Jones - March 21, 1920 - February 21, 2022

Departed: 02/21/2022 (Oldsmar)
Obituary Preview: Frances Louise (McKinney) Jones was born on March 21, 1920, in Talladega, Alabama to Jewell and Hardy McKinney. She was the oldest girl and second oldest child of 11. She loved learning and was a great student. She was particularly great with spelling and participated in a county spelling bee in her teenage years.
Frances McKinney married Francis (Frank) Marion Jones Jr in 1938 [preceded in death 2003]. Frank and Frances went on to have six, strong-willed boys, Jack, David [preceded in death 1968], Donnie, Gary, Roger, and Steve. Those boys went on to start their own families and Miss Frances was blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great grandchildren- all of whom she loved very much! All of Miss Frances’ grandchildren love her so much, and it should be noted that her first born grandchild Stephanie took on the amazing care of her grandmother in the last many years of her life. Stephanie made sure that grandma was spoiled rotten until her very last breath. Frances was a lifelong caregiver and became known as “grandma” to every person that she ever met. She eventually got her license at the age of 83 so she could “legally” drive around town to provide care for those she loved!
Miss Frances was a part of the Church of the Nazarene. She both attended and served her church family every chance she could. She both loved and served the Lord with all her heart. Frances loved to share the gospel in the form of both telling storytelling and singing church songs and hymns.  Frances, her husband Frank, and sister Beatrice sang church songs on the radio in Birmingham, AL in the late 1930s and early 1940s. Frances loved music. She played the guitar and sang all the time. She even continued singing in her nursing home up to the age of 100 years old. She sure loved to entertain! She loved to laugh, and her laughter was simply contagious.
Frances passed away at 4:51pm on February 21,2022. She will forever be remembered for her quick wit, love of Jesus, and caring soul. Frances will be laid to rest on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at 11am in the Bushnell National Cemetery.
The family has asked that if you would like to make a donation in her name – please make it to CareFirst Hospice 3805 Meads Creek Rd Painted Post, NY 14870.

Ann Crum - June 26, 1924 - February 09, 2022

Departed: 02/09/2022 (Oldsmar)
Obituary Preview: Ann Crum, née Harkins, grew up in Mahopac, New York with her siblings John, Jimmy, Marge, Charley, Eddie, Freddie, Calvin, and Bobby. The eldest daughter of the family, she was born in 1924. As a child, she enjoyed dancing and her mother’s pies. During the Great Depression, the family lived together on a farm in the area, where they housed and fed out-of-work men who came through. This spirit of community, support, and generosity would saturate every corner of Ann’s life—from her career to her family life to her role as a neighbor and community member. She studied to become a teacher at a women’s college in Connecticut, where she lived for a time with her husband Bill Crum. The couple met when they were the salutatorian and valedictorian of their high school, respectively. Bill Crum served in the military during World War II; while he was stationed in Italy, Ann worked on the home front. For many decades after he returned, the couple were active members of the VFW, where they helped organize and cook Thanksgiving dinner each year. Ann’s passion for teaching was evident; she eventually studied to earn an additional certificate to teach gifted students across Tampa. Even during her off hours and retirement years she continued to work as an educator, teaching children, including her own grandchildren, to read and paint. A chronic reader herself, with at least two books out from the local library at a time, her passion enlivened others. In addition to her commitment to community, friends, and family, Ann loved animals—including her late hen, Agnes—coffee, crafts, and American history. She put together charity fashion shows, and she led a presentation of her own design to teach school children about the evolution of the American flag, for which she dressed as Molly Pitcher. Ann also had an adventuresome spirit; she and Bill saved up to build a large trimaran that they sailed in the Gulf, and after retirement she saved up to travel to Spain, Italy, China, and Australia. As good a story teller as she was a listener, she could entertain the most disinterested stranger with her tales from abroad. Still, it is those from home for whom her absence will be most felt. She is survived by her children Curt Crum, Kali Plummer, and Keith Crum, her grandchildren Rex and Madeleine Crum, her son-in-law Nick Plummer, and her daughter-in-law Elizabeth Crum.
The Memorial service will be held on Friday March  4 at 2;00 at Holloways Funeral Home in Oldsmar, FL. Ann loved flowers, and also loved serving at the Retired Educators Association, an organization that provides scholarships to aspiring young educators to be.  .  If you wish to make a donation to that organization here is their information (no online donations, mail in a check for their scholarship foundation): Florida Retired Teachers Association 8950 9th St. North Suite 105 St. Petersburg FL 33702-3047 727-577-6400 info@frea.org

Robert Larry De Vault - August 07, 1936 - January 19, 2022

Departed: 01/19/2022 (Oldsmar)
Obituary Preview: Robert Larry De Vault
Robert Larry De Vault was born on August 7th 1936 to Robert Hugh De Vault and Aureita (Dalton) De Vault in Fairmont, West Virginia.  Nine years later, his only sibling and brother, Keith Dalton De Vault, was born.  Larry said of his baby brother “he was the most beautiful baby with fluffy, curly blonde hair.  I was so happy I wasn’t alone anymore.”  The two brothers were lifelong friends and continued to play chess together over text during Larry’s last months of life. Larry graduated from Fairmont State College, Fairmont, West Virginia, and completed a Master of Science degree in Biochemistry on a fellowship at Purdue University in Indiana.  Go Boilmakers!  He was proud of his educational achievements and would talk science with anyone who would listen and engage.  This year, 2022, he finally reached lifetime membership with the American Chemical Society.  He was proud of this accomplishment because, as he told his children, “I never have to pay yearly dues again.”
He met Julia Sue Hudson in Fairmont in 1955 and they married on February 1st 1957 at the United Methodist Church in Fairmont.  They were the best of friends and were always holding hands.  Soon their children came along, Adonica in 1957; Robert in 1958; Juliana in 1958; and, Charlotte in 1963.  Larry and Julie created a loving home for their family.  Favorite events included trips to the Jersey Shore, holiday meals, a beautifully decorated Christmas tree - dad hung the lights, the kids hung the ornaments, and mom finished the tree with perfectly placed tinsel.  Movies with big buckets of buttered popcorn were matters of great importance as were games.  The game of Hearts was popular with a (mostly) healthy amount of competition.  Recently, the family added Five Crowns and Train Dominoes. Larry played games up until the last few weeks of his life and even grew to be comfortable with losing on occasion. Oh, and there was music!  Larry sang in church choirs and community chorales and theater.  He once directed the musical “Carousel” to perfection.  But, what he loved the most was Barbershop music.  He was the bass in several quartets including “The Four Closures”; “ The Empire Statesmen”; and “The Skyliners.”  Larry sang in several choruses and under the direction of Jay Giallombardo the chorus won the international silver medal several times. There are two kinds of singers in the world: those that sing bass and those who want to sing bass!
In Larry’s professional life as a biochemist, he worked at Bristol Laboratories, New York, and Abbott Laboratories, Illinois.  With research teams, he was awarded 10 patents for work in antibiotic research.  Forever a scientist and researcher, he chose to change careers and support laboratories around the country in pharmaceutical sales. Once, he traveled to England to assist with specialized laboratory equipment.  There he purchased an English tea set for Julie.  This tea set remains a treasure to the family.
His research went beyond the lab as he managed Julie’s type two diabetes.  Pin pricks, insulin, charts, and graphs became his focus for 22 years until Julie suddenly died of a stroke in the Spring of 2002.  His heart was shattered.  He clung to his children and they to him.  They managed the best they could as they struggled to adjust to the loss of the central figure in the family.
Larry found comfort and new life in Catherine “Kate” Pirro.  They met in the church choir (of course) and married in the Spring of 2003.  Central to their life together was the Presbyterian Church of Palm Harbor and The Clearwater Choral.  They enjoyed crossword puzzles and daily comics.  Larry integrated Kate’s four children and four grandchildren without hesitation.
Larry continued his research in areas of autism, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s trying to discover how to care for people he loved.  Science and scientific research are difficult to understand and cures are always hiding.  He read material and looked for ways to raise the quality of life for those suffering.  This was the best way for him to care.  And while his children and family sometimes thought his ideas a bit far-fetched, they admired his efforts.
Everything changed for Larry in July 2021 when he suffered a mild stroke.  He rebounded in many ways - his sharp mind and humor were still with him.  However, he lost the ability to care for himself and Kate.  He moved in with his daughter, Charlotte, and son, Rob.  Everyone was hopeful for a strong recovery; however, the prostate cancer that Larry had been managing, reared an ugly head.  The last several weeks of Larry’s life have been surrounded by his children.  Taking turns they, along with his grandchildren, provided him with love and care.  They shared many, many memories and reminded Larry that he has loved well.
Now, Larry is in the arms of angels including his parents, his favorite Aunt Hazel Custer, his beautiful wife, Julia, and his nephew, K. Michael De Vault.  He is survived by his wife Kate; his brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Judy, who have already been officially declared the patriarch and matriarch of the De Vault family (God bless them!). His children will never forget him.  He leaves Adonica Lynne De Vault (Kathryn Spencer); of Portland, Oregon; Robert Larry De Vault, Jr. of Oldsmar; Juliana Mae De Vault Heidlauff (Ken), of Crested Butte, Colorado; and Charlotte Lee De Vault May of Oldsmar.  His grandchildren include Maegan Alberico (Stephen), Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Adrienne Crawford (David), Tucson, Arizona; Meredith Chesney (Tim), Cleveland, Ohio; and Meranda, Makenzie, and Michael May, the Chicago area.  His 11 great grandchildren will hear tales of their “Paparonni” for many years to come.  They include Avery, Lucius, Eden, and Shiloh Alberico; Bentley, Clayton, Lillian, and Micah Crawford; and Abby, Macallan and Harrison Chesney.
Kate’s children also hold dear memories of Larry “Papa.”  They include Kathleen Pirro; Elizabeth Wilson, Anthony Pirro (Karla Demas) and Dorothy Pirro.  Grandchildren include Madelyn, Emanuel, and Maya Wilson, and Deen Hassan.  Additionally, Kate’s sister and brother-in-law, Richard and Dee Hudgens were loving and supportive to Larry. Psalm 96:1-2 “Sing to the Lord a new song; Sing to the Lord all the Earth.  Sing to the Lord, praise his name.” Larry has joined the choir of angels and it’s a good thing as they were in need of a strong bass.  To remember Larry, sing a song, play a game, or watch a movie with a big bowl of popcorn.  And please do it with those you love - life is so much better that way! Memorial Service for Robert Larry De Vault The Office King of Kings Lutheran Church, Portland, Oregon, is inviting you to scheduled Zoom meeting.
